This is a fantastic sounding sub if used for what it is designed to do. It's not concert level, more than movie level bass, seamless fit between floor joist. I'm shocked how easy it is to integrate into standard home construction. Also, the hardware store sells a brass or brushed stainless grate that works perfect for this sun for $16.
Pros: Design, impact
Cons: A little pricey

I have had this installed in my ceiling for 3 years now. I was very worried about vibration, but thankfully there is no vibration in the ceiling even when the base is pounding. The sound is amazing with both the stereo and the home theater.

Monster bass! This thing is a beast and lets out so much bass when coupled with the amp Polk also makes. If you are looking for bass, get this!
Pros: You get what you pay for---amazing!
Cons: Cost

Didn't have a chance to install this product because the grill that came with the unit looked cheap. It's made of white plastic that reminds me of a dryer vent. It couldn't be put up in a high-end home.

Outstanding in-floor sub

I'm a big Polk fan. In fact most of my upcoming house build will feature Polk products (in-wall, in-ceiling speakers, and in-floor and in-wall subs). I am installing 4 for these in-floor subs in my great room powered by 2 Polk SWA500's (designed to match up w/these subs). While I haven't installed these subs yet (house is still under construction), I have listened to them simply outside of the shipping box and they perform great (in my current home). I have demoed them on both music and movies and there output is very nice. Stats say they play down to around 30hz and to my untrained ear that seems accurate. If you need an in-wall or in-floor sub that plays lower I would suggest looking at other alternatives. Most movies and music will sound great on them though. I have another manufacturer that I will be using for my dedicated home theater room (6 15's!!!). The fact that you can hide the sub under the flooring and all you see is a small grille, these subs are hard to beat.
Pros: performance, out of sight sub
Cons: under 30 hz material, pricey when you consider the cost of the sub and amp compared to a "normal" sub, but then again it would take up floor space.
