Certified for marine use

Match a DB+ sub to a suitable enclosure, and enjoy impressive bass punch rarely found in this price range. Polk Audio tests this sub rigorously for environmental effects caused by sun, moisture, and extreme temperature changes. They even certify this sub for marine applications, so they're a great choice for your boat too.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 275 and 525 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Features

Marine Certification: Polk DB+ series speakers are marine certified (IP56 rated), making them a good choice for boats in fresh water, convertibles, motorcycles, ATVs, and other applications where the speaker might get wet. Because they have coated steel baskets and the terminals are not covered, we do not recommend using them in salt water environments.

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Sealed Box Volume: Polk recommends a sealed enclosure between 1.0 ft³ and 2.4 ft³.

Ported Box Volume: Polk recommends a ported enclosure between 1.25 ft³ and 1.75 ft³.

Q
I had purchased one of these a while back and recently have experienced problems. I had discovered that intermittently there was no sound from the sub. When the cone is pushed in the speaker starts to work and occasionally would continue to operate. I removed the driver from the cabinet and found the braided wire from the terminal to the voice coil had broken off. Is there a warranty for this?
