Its low-profile design means you get serious performance from a sub that takes up less space.

Dual 4-ohm voice coils

This sub's dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire your system to draw max power from your mono amp or to safely hook up multiple subs. Match a DB+ sub to a suitable enclosure, and enjoy impressive bass punch rarely found in this price range. Polk Audio tests this sub rigorously for environmental effects caused by sun, moisture, and extreme temperature changes. They even certify this sub for marine applications, so they're a great choice for your boat too.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 275 and 550 watts RMS at 2 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Love Polk subs! I have 500 watts going to a single12 and it sounds amazing!

Pros: Awesome sound!

Cons: I wasn't aware it was a dual voice coil. I thought it was a single 2 ohm.

They sound great, no distortion no anything. Just pure bass, high and low. They are also placed in a downfiring box inside of a 2000 Ford F-150 extended cab. If you are looking for good bass and for a good price buy these. Recommend to anyone.

Pros: Good price, good design and quality.

Cons: N/A

Fantastic value

Fantastic subs. Was quite worried about them for the price, but was pleasantly surprised. The absolutely only beef I have is the mounting bolts they come with strip out very easily. They are a hex bit head. They will be replaced by normal screws. But that's it!

Pros: Fits any shallow box well Construction materials are solid

Cons: Mounting screws strip easily.

Product Research

Features

Dual 4Ω Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 4Ω voice coils, for wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2Ω load. When wired in series, the woofer presents an 8Ω load.

Marine Certification: Polk DB+ series speakers are marine certified (IP56 rated), making them a good choice for boats in fresh water, convertibles, motorcycles, ATVs, and other applications where the speaker might get wet. Because they have coated steel baskets and the terminals are not covered, we do not recommend using them in salt water environments.

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

Sealed Box Volume: Polk recommends a sealed enclosure between 1.25 ft³ and 3.5 ft³.

Ported Box Volume: Polk recommends a ported enclosure between 1.75 ft³ and 2.25 ft³.

Matching subwoofer to door speakers [ Jerad  May 16, 2018 ]

Going to attempt making a homemade outdoor patio weather safe subwoofer setup. This is marine rated so should withstand temperature and humidity variations. [ JASON  May 14, 2018 ]
A
Chose this cause my other speakers were also gonna be polk DB's and wanted sub to match even tho pretty sure a kicker or JL for same price might of been better. [ B  Mar 29, 2018 ]
A
Can't beat the price of it .This was my 2nd choice subwoofer but I don't feel bad about buying it since it was on sale in its almost exactly like my first pick .I just going to learn to not put the volume up all the way lol . Big thanks to Chuck also for the assistance. [ Trav H  Jan 08, 2018 ]

Q
If my sub has an RMS of 375W and peak 1200W, can it handle 500W RMS without risking damage?
[ Phazedaze  May 05, 2019 ]
2 answers
A
The short answer is YES... Remember pick power , is a maximum power for a short period of time. Like a spike !
[ ERIC H  May 05, 2019 ]
A
If your amp has an RMS output of 375W then this subwoofer will be fine. In most cases peak power is irrelevent and frequently inaccurate. Just ensure that the amplifier outputs no less than half the RMS power rating of the sub and no more then 1.5 times the RMS power rating of the sub for optimal performance. The only thing to be careful with is to look at impedance. This sub, when bought alone, will either present 2 ohm or 8 ohm. 2 ohm is preferred but make sure the amp can handle it, and check power output at 2 ohm. If you get 2 of these subs, they can be wired to present 4 ohm, the typical impedance at which RMS power is rated.
[ Kenny  May 05, 2019 ]
Q
Will 2 of these subwoofers perform well powered by 650w rms 2000w peak mono amp?
[ Richard  Apr 29, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
Will a 1in polyfill lined 1 cu.ft sealed box work ok with this sub?
[ Travis  Dec 26, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
Yes it will work very well with this subs due to they are low profile and you wouldn't have any problem enjoying them
[ Richard D.  Dec 26, 2018 ]
Q
What is the total impedance of this subwoofer? It states "dual 4 ohm voice coils", does that imply they are in series for 8 Ohm, or in parallel for 2 Ohm, or is the overall impedance 4 Ohm?
[ Kenny  Feb 22, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
It means there are two 4 ohm coils, so you can wire it in series or in parallel--however you'd like. It comes with a handy wiring guide to help you figure out the right way to wire it for the impedance you need.
[ Breannah  Feb 22, 2018 ]
