Product Research

Features

Overview: The Polk PB SC50 pre-construction brackets are designed specifically for the Polk Audio 70-RT in-ceiling speakers (10770RT, sold separately). These pre-construction brackets are used to designate the location of where the in-ceiling loudspeakers will be installed in a ceiling. The brackets define the holes the contractor or yourself will cut out. If you're building a new home, pre-construction brackets will make installing your in-ceiling speakers easier and more efficient. The included wings mount to the pre-construction brackets and to the ceiling studs, giving you a sturdy mount to install the speakers. Each bracket requires a cutout of 6.625" in diameter.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Do you leave these installed once the drywall hole is cut out - or remove them before finalizing the drywall installation? If you leave them installed I'm assuming the speakers pass through easily for final installation?

A
pull wire to location to be installed, attach sheetrock, (mark exact location either on the floor or produce reliable sketches). after sheet rock cut out locations, paint, install speakers as any final trim, after finishes are completed.

Yes, You leave these in after the drywall is installed. The templates create a nice backing support for the speakers when you clamp them in place. As you assumed the speaker slides through the template and the swing clamps come up against the template from the back to secure the speaker. Works very well.
