Unfortunately we cannot verify if it will work with the VT series. To get a definitive answer, you would want to contact Polk's tech support directly at 800-377-7655.

Q
Can you still mount these into Sheetrock if you don't have the pre-construction brackets installed?
[ GARY  Dec 09, 2020 ]

A
I am assuming you are asking about mounting speakers in a hole cut in the ceiling sheetrock. The speakers I purchased would mount in that manner because they have levers or "wings" that swing out. The brackets primarily provide a way to layout where the speakers will be mounted between joists during framing and for the sheetrock hangers to zip cut-out the holes. The brackets will not serve any purpose if there is sheetrock already on the ceiling unless you can access the from above such as in an attic. You could make them work but will have to do something like measure the space between joists, mount the brackets to 2 2x4, 2x6, etc and then mount the wood to the joists. The rough-in brackets mount to the bottom of the ceiling joists. Please let me know if the explanation is not clear

A
these are pre construction brackets, go up before drywall. they nail to the framing and drywall runs over top. there may be better solutions for retrofit. a lot of work to repair drywall.
[ THOMAS  Dec 09, 2020 ]
A
Yes, the critical part of the installation is making sure the hole is the correct size and is not out of round.
[ Vincent  Dec 09, 2020 ]
Q
what is the inside diameter of this bracket?
[ DON  Mar 07, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
It's wider than a floor joist if that helps. You just cut off the excess
