Polk Audio Reserve R350
gabe from BLAINE, WA on 12/24/2021
First,Just a little disclaimer:I am a very fussy person when it comes to my audio equipment. Due to the dimensions of our TV stand, my search for a decent center channel speaker was limited to one with less than 6 inches in height. For a center speaker, the mid range "woofer" should be at least 5 inches in diameter to enable a decent warm tone. This has been my experience in the past...I realize that the height limitation will compromise the overall sound quality of a center speaker. This Polk center speaker is large and heavy. The charcoal grille did not match well with the all black components of my system. Of course, the most important factor is the actual sound it produces. Even at just moderately "loud" levels I heard definite distortion from this speaker. It involved the mid to high range frequencies and was most prominent during dialogue. This may have been the result of the audio source and my brand of amplifier. But my testing proved otherwise. Using a speaker selector, I was able to compare this Polk center channel speaker directly with the other speakers in my system. Those were Focal 905s, which are in the same price range as the Polk. The distortion with the Polk was definitely higher. Thanks to Crutchfield's excellent customer service and return policy, I am able to try another option.

R350 works great as a center speaker above the TV
Crutchfield customer from Owens X Rds, AL on 10/21/2021
Great center speaker. Vocals are clear, its timbre matched perfectly with the R200s, and sounds great with any style of music. The tweeters give perfectly clear highs, while the bass sounds deep and rich. I recommend using the HTS-12 under the desk (right side) for the bass however, because it sounds weird with low bass coming from the left and right speakers, or above the TV. In my Denon AVR-X3700H I set my crossover frequency to 80Hz, and set all the speakers to be small speakers. Yes, I do have it mounted above my tv (greater than 18" from the side speakers), but its angled down 8 degrees and it still sounds blended well with the side speakers. It doesn't sound like its coming from above the tv when I'm sitting on my couch about 10 feet back.
Pros: Handles any style of music great, great for home theater

Polk R350 - Sweet and Worth It
Crutchfield customer from Newport Beach, CA on 7/22/2021
I waited a long time before the walnut R350 version (of this Center Speaker) became available again. I wanted something upmarket from my old BostonAcoustics VRC center, which never worked-out so well with my current Vandersteen2Ci floor-standing Left/Right speakers. I had a few restrictions for: *The max. height (<5.75"), *No rear port(s) and *the speaker needed NOT to be black. Purchase was made w/o ever auditioning these speakers but I had to 'trust' Polk that the construction/specifications were worthy of the price tag. Unboxing the packaging gave me more comfort that I made the correct decision. I am not certain if speakers need 'breaking-in' but I let it simmer for 48 hours before sitting down to hear it. The results of my audition leads me to only say "SWEET!" and "WORTH IT!"
Pros: The speaker sock, it is shipped with, is a nice touch. Sound worth the $$
Cons: Humongous multi-language UserManual should be replaced with a pdf manual included in a USB stick.

For its size, it punches above its weight (and price) class
Josh from Ft Worth, TX on 5/2/2021
While I have only had these for a few days, I wanted to get a review out as I have not seen a single review for the 'slim' center channel of the reserve line. First off, I am replacing a Polk Signature S35 (which by itself is a decent center, but based on its small driver and cabinet size is lacking on some areas). I am limited based on our setup on both depth and height for a center to fit under the TV, and I am forced to butt up against a large wall - so both small form factor and sealed/non ported are a must for me. This speaker, the R350, is a massive improvement and step up from the S35. It has a much wider dispersion and set at the typical 80 hz crossover (running dual HTS-10 subs) pulls plenty of punch. Dialogue is significantly clearer and effects are more discernable and anchored to the screen. I have even played around with some high bitrate music on either 3 channel/Dolby music settings (just to test the speaker via forcing play on the center) and it absolutely shines on female vocals. It will hit pretty deep for something with 4" drivers in a sealed enclosure. I've watched a few movies (Blu-ray) and thus far it has handled everything I have thrown at it. While I cant compare to the other R300/R400 center channels, I am very happy with the R350. For those considering this speaker for vertical mount or L/C/R duty, the POLK emblem is magnetic, and can be moved to the bottom center for vertical orientation, haven't seen that talked about anywhere.
Pros: - Excellent mid range - Wide dispersion for a horizontal MTM design
Cons: - Speaker finish (I think the signature line looks better)
