Polk Audio RTi A7 Tower Speaker

Enjoy exceptional audio performance with Polk's RTi A7 tower speakers (shown in cherry)

Serious music listeners and home theater buffs alike will appreciate Polk's consistently popular RTi Series tower speakers. The RTi A7 offers top-notch sound quality, and its curved edges and real wood veneer give it a handsome, refined look.

A high-tech approach to accurate sound

This speaker's carefully designed drivers undergo laser testing to help identify and eliminate resonance points, ensuring smooth, accurate response. Its asymmetric cabinet helps it deliver rich, clear sound by combating vibration and increasing rigidity.

Polk's exclusive PowerPort® technology reduces noisy air turbulence and increases low-frequency output. You'll enjoy clear highs, rich bass, and open, natural-sounding midrange.

Additional high-end features

Two sets of gold-plated five-way binding posts let you biamp or biwire the RTi A7 for the best possible sound. An anti-diffraction grille helps it deliver a large, three-dimensional soundstage with pinpoint-accurate stereo imaging. Adjustable spikes provide stability on both carpeted and hardwood floors.

Complete your surround system

For best performance, pair the RTi A7 towers with our recommended center channel speaker: Polk CSi A6  and surround speakers: Polk RTi A3 or FXi A6.

Awesome Speakers!!! When I first open these bad boys I fell in love!! The Cherry finish is flat out amazing!!! The sound is good as well, but after a week I returned them and I'm awaiting the RTI A9's. The reason is if the A'7s are good I can only imagine the 9's! I like fullness of my movies and music so I think the 9's will get the job done I'm just greedy for power!!! Crutchfield Field is amazing, Thank you guys for helping me pick my system out

Pros: Details in highs, and lows. Good Bass response. Clarity is off the charts!!!

Cons: They need a good amount of break in time, and a strong amplifier to powethemhe

These speakers aren't as efficient as some others, so they need extra power. Give them the watts they crave and you will be rewarded with a rich, full volume of sound that is reassuringly warm & accessible. And everyone will listen happily.

Pros: Rich and warm sounding. Lots of headroom for high power use. Relatively small footprint.

Cons: Needs more watts than many speakers. Heavy.

Great speakers

I had owned the RTI A1s for over 5 years and always enjoyed their sound. When it came time upgrade my HT I decided to upgrade both the receiver and the main fronts. These A7s paired with a Marantz SR 5013 complement each other well . The sound is much fuller and playing music on them has elevated the definition of sound. These just sound nicer. Bargain price. For 2 Channel jazz and blues music there is plenty of definition. Wide Soundstage. As Others have noted, these can be bright with some music but honestly, they have never become tiresome. Overall well worth the upgrade. Great Speakers. Polk has been solid with the RTiA line.

Pros: Good Sound for music and movies When paired with good amp they have plenty of power Good initial quality Solid construction Good Soundstage

Cons: Can be bright Larger Size need room

In a world of cute little speakers that sound pretty good and cost more than they should, these Polk Big Boys are a reminder of just what those of us seduced by smallness have been missing. Turn 'em up and smile!

Pros: Clarity, depth, power

I read up on several speakers in my shopping price range and after my Crutchfield tech suggested these over the Klipsch 2-ways, I decided on these. I was leaning that way anyway. Just wasn't quite sure after reading all the reviews. But I am glad I went with the rtia7's. They replaced my 38 year old Kenwood 3-way cabinet speakers with a 10" woofer . I was concerned the 7 inch woofers on the Polks would not handle the bass well, but I was pleasantly surprised. The highs are crisp and I like a 3way with the dedicated midrange speaker. I mostly listen to classical, Celtic, Accoustic, but do crank it up with some Phil Whickam. So I can't vouch for other genres. All in all, they are good speakers. And I assume will keep sounding even better after breaking them in more.

I've been using Polk speakers for over 20 yrs and have never had any problems at all. I had the monitor 60s,70s then moved up to 500rds. I got a new Denon avr x6400h and decided I needed more of a speaker. These Rtia7s went on sale, which is about what I paid for my 500s. What a difference in style power and clear sound. I'm so happy I got then then I got a pair of 9s now set. I would highly recamend these especially for this price.

Pros: Size, clear sound and great styling

Cons: A little small in size

Polk RTi 7 speakers. Best sound investment I've every made.

Crutchfield customer from Albany, GA on 3/26/2019

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Very happy with the Polk RTi7 speakers I recently purchased . These replaced a pair of large Sony loudspeakers and there is just no comparison. The sound quality and definition from the Polk towers is absolutely awesome. I am driving them with a 100 watt amp and my music selection has just come alive . They are tall and heavy but the sound quality is worth every ounce. I opted for the cherry veneer cabinets and they are like pieces of beautiful furniture . I purchased 'scratch and dent "speakers and aside from a minor scratch and dent on one speaker they are perfect . You've got to look to find the blemish. I'm happy because they sound great. Large speakers may not be for everyone but I find it hard to believe anyone who loves music wouldn't love these speakers. They are worth every penny . I would buy again.

Pros: Exceptional sound quality . Great bass, excellent definition and clarity. Beautiful Cherry wood veneer finish. Small foot print.

Cons: Heavy . Not easy to move around. Prone to damage when being shipped because of weight.

Took forever to get unwrapped which is not a bad thing considering the abuse the delivery drivers put these through. Super fast and easy hook up. Works right out of the box with no calibration needed. My Marantz SR5012 powers these thing beautifully. They add room filling warmth and make movies come to life. My Oppo makes music sound amazing with these towers. All in all a great inexpensive way to start a 7.2 system. The RTi A7's pair great with my Polk center channel. Next step bass and rear surrounds.

Pros: Packaged to withstand UPS driver abuse Good price for what you get Makes movies and music sound great Fills the room completely Looks Great with other equipment Easy Hookup

This is my 2nd set of Polk towers, and I am extremely impressed with the RTi A7. I am running mine with a Denon AVR-1913, bi amping the towers. I also have a CSI A6 and two pair of FXi A6's for side & rear surrounds. These towers sound amazing and are perfectly matched to the other speakers in the system. I'm going to have to upgrade my receiver soon as these towers are more than capable of playing louder than the receiver can hold up to. And it's not just loud, but crystal clear with terrific soundstage and imaging.

What a great upgrade

Carlos from Laguna Niguel, CA on 2/25/2019

These speakers are part of a 2.0 stereo system, so I can't speak of them in terms of home theater. They replaced a pair of Polk TSi 400 (which I really like; they are now downstairs as the mains on my 5.1 home theater system). These A7's are an obvious step up so I only mention the TSi so you'll know what I am comparing them to. Right out of the box, they sounded great, which put a smile on my face. I'm writing this review a few weeks in, so the speakers have around 20-25 hours. Not fully broken-in, but good enough to write this. Some reviewers call them "too bright", others stated that they lack bass; that's not my experience at all. They sound great! The highs are very similar to my TSi's, accurate and exciting without being shrill or fatiguing. The lows are just impressive; this is where the RTi's far outperform my TSi's. Excellent low end; bass guitar and kick drums come in with authority but with balance. The attack and decay on the snare and bass drum is both heard and felt with your entire body. No sub necessary. The midrange is where these speakers shine. It's accurate and just great to the ear. Soundstage is quite spacious. Musical pieces with loud-quiet-loud passages sound especially nice. Throw in Alice In Chains Unplugged on vinyl and you'll know what I mean. They are paired with a Yamaha AS 301, and it has no problem driving them. I love these speakers. They would be a great value at retail price, but on sale they are an absolute bargain!

Pros: Price!; Great bass; quite handsome.

Cons: None I can think of.

Just purchased a pair from the best sales team on the planet here at Crutchfield and the A7s have changed the aural landscape from magnificent to NIRVANA. I Have 4 B&ws and 2 subwoofers and it was spectacular as it was BUT the addition of these brilliant (and beautiful) speakers just upped my game beyond expectations. Truly the missing link has been found and I am....complete. Sound is a very personal thing so I'm not going to go into the highs mids and lows from these riveting Polks but I am really pleased. I watched The Beatles HELP! last night in 5.1 surround off the blu-ray and I thought I died and went to heaven. You cant go wrong. Amen.

Pros: The SOUND AND AESTHETICALLY beautiful. The Price on sale!!!

Ear Violating Treble

jim from Christiansburg, VA on 2/11/2019

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The finish on these speakers is amazing for the price point. If you like cherry, you will not be disappointed. Sleek, and look elegant, with our without the cover. The sound is strained. If you like extra bright treble, these might be for you. But I found the tweeter too bright. Listening to a violin solo (Locatelli's concerto in D Major, 1st movement) left my ears wincing in pain--and the volume was not up that high. No trouble on my other speakers or hearing this live. Bass was weak. Midrange was amazing in its clarity. I was using a Yamaha amp pushing 80 watts per channel. I've since been told that one needs several hundred watts to push these properly, or a subwoofer for fill in. For someone these will be amazing. For those who want a less strident treble experience, try others. These are going back, but I'm pleased with Crutchfield and looking at other speakers they sell.

RTi A7s roll out the thunder!

Dave from Spring Valley, NY on 2/7/2019

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I had 20 + year old RT10s (150W/ch) in my theater room. One channel was blown so I knew it was time to upgrade. I had tried to purchase the TSi500s on another site and after paying, they canceled the order; lack of stock (despite what web page said). I revisited the various online reviews and decided to step up another $100 to the RTiA7s. I do NOT regret the extra cash! These speakers, though not "broken in" yet sound superb! My 10" Energy subwoofer, a great unit, has a little competition! At first I bi-wired from my older Pioneer VSX 1012 {7.1 THX certified surround} receiver (100w per channel) and was initially so so with the sound. The next morning as I pondered a more modern, more powerful reveiver like one of the $699 to $999 Marantz units, I ran across the Crutchfield discussion on Bi-Amping.... that made me put down the coffee and go hook up the L & R Back speakers wiring to the terminals on the A7s. Wow, what an improvement! I went through the surround setup manually and maxed out the dB outputs from Back channels and, wallah!,I had some pretty thunderous sounds pounding out of the system. A little Porcupine Tree, TOOL and Alice In Chains "Rainer Fog" gave the system a seriously kick ass wakeup call. Holy crap, these speakers rock! This drummer's pretty happy!

Pros: Great lows, mids, highs. Perfect for the theater setup. Perfect for hard rock music.

Cons: None so far

phase one review (esthetics and craftsmanship) These towers look Gorgeous! An Impressive piece of furniture. "Two Beautiful Spanish Guitars on their stands", that's exactly how they look and feel. I bought them for Stereo High Resolution Music only and to perform while being the Focal Point in my living room, so up to this point they are Just P.E.R.F.EC.T. for me. I will be firing them, on Bi Amp mode, with 100 RMS each way along a Martin Logan sealed/down firing 300 RMS sub. In near future, I will let you know how these Beauties perform on "the stage" that is under construction right now. pd. These Beauties are Vipers not Priuses, so a twelve/twenty yrs. old 100w max. receiver nor a new 99.2 wimpy channels home theater receiver won't please them. If you want them go with Bi Amped Real RMS Stereo Power.

Pros: Absolutely Beautiful

I bought a pair of these a couple weeks ago after seeing them on sale. I was looking to upgrade from some worn out rsii towers. I had no idea what I was missing this whole time. The rtia7s blew me away, bringing new life to frequented music and movies. Out of the box the bass was muddled but after a short break In period it cleaned up nicely. They hit low and with authority. Not shattering any windows but that's what a sub is for. The soundstage is incredible. Focused sounds come from dead center, not noticeably from the towers. All peripheral sounds seem to stretch clean across the room. Very clean and detailed sound. I'm still hearing unheard sounds from old music and movies. I've read reviews stating they are overly bright but they're fine to my ears. No fatigue here. All in all I'm 100% satisfied with this purchase. Ended up buying the csia6 center to pair with them because the towers absolutely blew me away.

Pros: Price Soundstage Detailed sound Plenty of volume and bass Looks and build quality

Cons: If I had to find something I'd say they're a bit heavy and akwardly shaped so they're difficult to move. ( I know the weight is do to quality. Don't want to pay this much for plastic or a wrap.)

Not impressed, a regrettable purchase. First off my 10 year old Yahmaha book shelf speakers sound better and don't distort at high volume. Theses speakers sound average. The two 7 inch woofers are pointless. The highs can't handle any kind of volume. Overall a mediocre speaker for a high dollar price.

Pros: Looks nice

Polk Continues to Impress

Rob from Galloway, NJ on 1/7/2019

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Polk makes fantastic speakers - I wouldn't be the first to make such a statement. However, the RTi A7's are really a fantastic product. I've been a fan of the RTi series for quite some time - having the bookshelf speakers for my front/rears for over 10 years. The 7's are my first foray into their tower line and I'm immediately impressed. The size is somewhat misleading - they are actually quite heavy and even a bit cumbersome to move. That said, once placed perfectly, you'll rarely need to move them. I think as they warm up the next few months, I'll be in for real treat. The primary use is for films and video games and so far I'm incredibly impressed with the bass output (even with a powered sub as part of my setup), and midrange. I'm actually considering adding a power amp to my new Denon receiver (105 watts per channel) just to really get more oomph out of the 7's....we'll see! Otherwise, good luck in your search - just keep in mind, you'll be hard pressed to find a better speaker to cost ratio for most modest/mid budgets.

Pros: Phenomenal construction; stellar sound.

Cons: A bit difficult to move due to their awkward-ish shape.

I took a chance on buying these without hearing them since no retailers offer a home theater room anymore to check out home audio gear. These are really good speakers, they have incredibly quick, deep, but also punchy bass. The midrange is excellent. The reason I chose these over the Klipsch is because they offer a midrange. I have tried speakers in the past with no midrange and then you really miss out on a very important dimension of sound; the crisp clear vocals, especially female voices! The only real drawback I hear is the high range sound from the tweeters, it is smooth but not as crisp and clear as my 20 year old Infinity speakers. Adjusting the equalizer settings and the tone control has helped quite a bit though. Also the soundstage doesn't seem to be very wide. The sound really trails off when you are not directly in front of them. As I mentioned before the bass is very impressive, even at low volumes the bass is clear and very balanced. Before with my old Infinity's you had to really turn the volume up to get any bass, I had to add bass with my powered sub to listen to music with those, but with these I can turn off my subwoofer when listening to music. The only time the sub is needed is when I am watching movies. Overall I am very satisfied with these and would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality sound at at a reasonable price.

Pros: Great deep, quick and responsive bass.

Cons: Not enough crisp clear high sound. Sort of a narrow soundstage.

I'm impressed with the sound right out of the box. The clarity of the mid-range, the bass isn't too punchy. Everything is just right to me. Utilizing a Denon X2400H and they work well together. I love 'em. I hear parts of the music which I've not heard before. They help fill my large listening area with no problem at all. They're paired with Polkaudio FXi A6's, TSi 200's and the CS 10 Center Channel. The sound is amazing! Thank you Crutchfield for your help and support.

Pros: Great sound at a Great Price

These may be the best speaker in their price range. They replaced a pair of Klipsch that were relegated to surround speaker status. They started off pretty tight but after a break-in period of about 35-40 hours, they started to loosen up, really blossom and sound better every day. (Used in a living room with high ceilings for music and theater.)Don't expect huge bass from these 7-1/2" drivers. They're decent enough, but I have them paired with a subwoofer, so it's not a big deal. The mids and highs really shine, which is what I wanted. These tweeters aren't as harsh as the horns on the Klipsch. They're not power hungry. I get great sound while using less power. This is what prompted my decision over the RTi A9s. All in all, the fit finish and sound are worth far more than what I paid. Highly recommended.

Pros: Bang for the buck Crisp mids/highs Fit/finish

Coming from 38 year old vintage speakers that I thought were sweet, Purchased a pair of these with the HK3770 Receiver and I'm in love with my music all over again. Had a second pair of speakers that always complemented the old gear but now have removed those as well and listen to only the Polks. I was worried about losing those nuances that come from the old equipment but was wrong, these shine and envelope my listening area like never before. I highly recommend these!

Pros: Great value and tremendous sound quality for the price. The wood is gorgeous and look elegant in our room.

Cons: No cons,,, I love these speakers!

Fantastic. Awesome. I love to praise and worship. and these speakers allow me to just set aside everything and focus on worshipping my Lord.

Pros: the sound is fantastic! these were given to me as a gift. and as an audio enthusiast I can't get over the sound. As far as weight I expected them to be a little heavy which is no problem. The size is perfect not too big not too small just right. my plan is to buy another set for the opposite side of my living room. so I can sit in the middle and crank the praise and worship music. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who wants quality sound.

These look and sound awesome. Others complain that they're "power hungry," but that is not my experience. They're perfectly happy with the 100w/ch coming from my Onkyo NR646 and no external amplifier. However, they definitely do blossom at louder volumes, enough to rattle my window frames to the point of concern... (In a good way.) I manage a Quality Control dept., so I'm picky, and these are built flawless and solid. They look like a stunning, expensive piece of quality furniture. Also kudos to Crutchfield for their logistics. These were back-ordered, but Crutchfield clearly communicated that to me, and proactively kept me in the loop on the delivery status from start to finish. Very, very happy with all aspects of this purchase.

90% home theater + streaming TV. 10% music. Highly, highly, highly recommended. Scored these on clearance at Crutchfield and I could not be happier! The highs and mids are not harsh at all like Polk can sometimes be known for. The action sequences on film are clear. The bass isn't terribly overpowering and the sound itself is crystal clear. The RTi A7's are not as large or seemingly overwhelming as the A9's. They do not take much power to drive them efficiently. I am utilizing a Denon x3400H and it is essentially a match made in heaven. I could not be happier with this purchase!

I love these speakers. I upgraded from some old small satellite speakers to full towers and the sound is dramatically different. The range covered by these speakers is truly amazing. They put out a decent amount of bass that I don't even need my subwoofer while watching TV. And when listening to music I am hearing parts of the music I have not heard before. So far I like these speakers.Perhaps a little harsh on the highs, but they aren't broken in yet.I bought the scratch and dent version and they came well packaged with only a few nicks on one and missing instructions on the other. Not a big deal. The compact size fits nicely with my system and look very nice in the cherry color.I have a high powered Carver amp to drive these that I also purchased from Crutchfield in the mid 90's.Plenty of power and a very clean sound.I have a NHT powered sub that I use with the speakers as well. This helps out on the bottom end,but they also sound good without it.

Pros: Sound very good at a good price, with great looks.

Cons: A little harsh on the highs.

Very musical. Good imaging. Powered by Marantz SR5012 bi-amp. In theater 5.1 mode the volume can get thunderous with low distortion. Really improved realism on sound tracks. These speakers are replacing two 1970 vintage KLH Model 5 speakers which at that time were the best sounding ones around. They still sound good but I felt it was time for new ones, I figured there had to be a world of improvement in speaker quality in 48 years. I did some research, read a lot of reviews & decided on these speakers which were in my price range. There are no stores in my area to listen to different speakers but I knew I could return them in case I did't like their sound. When I unpacked them I was really impressed with the quality of these speakers, especially the cherry wood. When I fired them up I was blown away, highs, midrange, & base are superb. I like a lot of bass and after increasing the response on my Yamaha amp there is no need for a subwoofer in my opinion. I'm sure there are more expensive speakers which sound better but for this price range I don't think you can do better. I highly recommend these speakers.

Pros: Great sound, impeccable workmanship.

Cons: None that I have found.

I purchased these speakers at the beginning of April after a lot of research and reading many, many reviews. I have delayed writing this review to allow for a break-in period for the speakers. I use these speakers in a stereo configuration with a Harmon Kardon {HK3700) receiver and an Onkyo CD player. I listen to several genres of music but, primarily, Theater Pipe Organ through CDs and internet radio via Vtuner installed on the receiver. Thee speakers are hands down the best quality for the price. The craftsmanship of the cabinetry is superb. The sound is crystal clear and accurate and they continue to sound better as they age. With the addition of a Polk 10" subwoofer it brings the concert hall to my living room. I highly recommend these speakers.

Pros: Impeccable sound. Quality construction. Solid build. Gorgeous finish. Extraordinary value for the price.

Cons: Absolutely none.

The speakers sound great, however I bought a scratch & dent pair, and one of them came in a box that was extremely poorly packaged and one foot had completely broken off. I didn't want the hassle of sending back, so we kept them since most people wouldn't even notice. We are missing the deep bass sounds that will only be accomplished with a powered sub-woofer, which is next on our list :)

Just outstanding sound, and nice enough looking to fit in with an expensively furnished living room. I bought these speakers to upgrade my 5.1 Polk system in my den. They are a really nice upgrade from the book shelf speakers I was running at the front prior to this purchase. At the current price they are a great deal particularly after comparing them with much more expensive speakers from other companies. They have a significant bass response and the mids and high range are both clear. I'm hearing nuances that I haven't previously heard even with my larger family room system. I was concerned with all the reviews saying these speakers need a lot of power for them to be at their best. My Onkyo TX-NR676 is powering them and the rest of my system with ease. I've had these for a week now and if they get better after a break in period then I have something to look forward to as they sound great to me right out of the box. I'm listening to them as I write this and can't imagine how bi-aiming would improve them. Maybe I'll try that down the line but clearly I don't think that's necessary.

Pros: Great Sound Beautiful to look at Small foot print Great speaker for the money

Yes, the cherry is beautiful. These are the best speak's for my money. The imaging and separation of channels is outstanding. The sound detail is impressive. The mids are solid, with respectable bass. I'm running these from a NAD amp at 150wpc. It is a great fit, technically speaking. I bought an Onkyo TX-RX810 from you (130 watts per channel) and then following your recommendation bought a set of 300 watt Polk Audio RTi A7s. This receiver does not move those speakers. I have to turn the volume up to 90% and the unit overheats; plus, Tech Support is only offered in English. It's too bad that my $150.00 mini stereo sounds better than a combination of Onkyo and Polk.

This review is based upon my initial listening impressions with these speakers being new, out of the box and without the usual break-in process. I was impressed. They exhibited good overall response and it was obvious that with a judicial amount of break-in time they will preform very well or better than speakers within this price range or higher. The fit and finish is very good. I somewhat disagree that a high power (100-200 wpc) amplifier is required to obtain a good sound with these speakers. While there is nothing wrong with "big power" a good quality amp rated honestly will do the job quite well. I paired these speakers with an Adcom GFA 535II amp rated at 60wpc @ 8 ohms. These are real watts not the hyped-up numbers used by some manufacturers to lure in an unsuspecting consumer. The amp was paired with an OSD PRE-1 preamp, a budget, low output unit that is fairly well constructed for the price. Using the Polks along with the aforementioned amp/preamp combination filled a 15 X 20 foot basement listening room to satisfying levels. Are these speakers on par with my Martin Logan Quest Z's paired with 2 Aragon 8008 BB's and CJ Premier17LS? NO. But in the bang for your buck category coupled with the great Crutchfield service team you will be enjoying the RTi-7A's for years to come.

I am totally satisfied with quality and price.. I upgraded from a pair of Epos M5 which blew out after 14 years of service. I was highly satisfied with the Epos, and I *think* that the Polk sound noticeably better. The speakers sound great to me, including a level of bass that I never had before (pedal tones on J.S. Bach organ works), and detail in the mid and high frequencies that I don't remember hearing before, and which I attribute to the good sensitivity. I bought them after a cross-country move, so I'm hearing them in a different room many weeks after the last audition of my Epos, so I can't make a careful comparison. I am driving the speakers with a Music Hall a15.3, which I have never turned up to full volume. I have no interest in home theater or seismic bass, but I listen to organ recordings at a volume simulating the experience in a huge church. My experience contradicts the claim that a powerful amplifier is required. The cherry cabinet is a bit darker than the photos suggest, but most such wood lightens with age. They are lovely, and completely soothed my wife's concerns about beauty, though she still objects to the large size. The weight and stability would be a problem if they had to be moved a lot, but I count them as a plus since my granddaughter is unlikely to knock them over when she starts walking and wreaking havoc. It has not occurred to the cat to scratch the grilles.

Pros: sound, price, beauty of cabinet, stability

Cons: clumsy to move around

Using an old ONKYO at only 75W per channel, the RTi7's produced a beautiful, spacious sound stage, without artificially heavy bass, but with a solid bottom for orchestral music (Sibelius Symph. 5 was deep and thrilling). A tad bright for some bluegrass, but Tony Rice's guitar was gorgeous - heard detail lost to the muddy middle of my old speakers. Chamber, esp string quartets, is astonishing in the clear definition of each voice; like others, I suspect these speakers will improve and mellow with age - a bit bright for now, esp treble strings. Stones - great, Bill Evans Trio - even better. But I think these speakers - a bargain - are best with the human voice. An especially wonderful and rich sound presented Ella, Kurt Elling, Kathleen Battle, Donovan, Pete Seeger, Joni, and Lennon with warmth and intimacy. So much music, so little time; but I know it can't sound better. Other than live (maybe).

I have 2 sets of these awesome sounding towers in my 12 X 22 living room for stereo or home theater listening. The first set came in February 2018 which were connected to my Integra DTR 7.1 av amp and they sounded ok but lacked bass response. Incorporated my NAD 1130 preamp and an Adcom GFA 555 MK II 200 WPC power amplifier from back in the day and WOW!!! the RTI A-7 s sound superb. There is no shortage of bass from the two 7 in woofers, they reproduce tight accurate to deep house shaking bass . The tweeter and midrange on these speakers do the A7s a great justice in vocal and instrument reproduction. At first the speakers appear to be a little bright but after a 45 hour break-in period they sound great. I enjoy listen to a wide variety of music and am all out impressed with the RTI A7 speakers so much I bought a second pair at the end of March. The new speakers are for rear surround for my 5.1 set up or stereo . This set is fed by a NAD 1130 preamp and a n Adcom GFA 5500 200wpc power amp, they sound spectacular. FYI - having power amps doesn't mean you have to crank it all the time, your music will sound excellent at all volume levels including very low. Thank you to the knowledgeable and friendly Crutchfield sales and customer service support staff that helped me with my purchases.

Pros: An awesome looking high quality speaker by Polk audio at a great price

Cons: None that come to mind.

I purchased these speakers after a lot of research and reading the reviews. They replace a pair of Bose 201's and some small Yamaha bookshelf speakers. It was time to upgrade to a pair of floor standing speakers and I purchased these after evaluating them vs. a pair of Klipsch R-24F. Turned out to be a good choice for my almost-70 year old ears. I selected the scratch and dent option and saved a bundle. Yes, there were a couple nicks in the enclosures, but that does not affect their performance in any way. There was, however, a broken foot on one of the speakers, probably caused by UPS's rough handling. I called Crutchfield, supplied a picture, and was quickly sent a replacement after speaking with Tylaher. I use these speakers strictly in a stereo configuration for music as well as TV and Blu-Ray sound. They are matched perfectly with a Yamaha A-S301 integrated amp that I purchased from Crutchfield (thanks Brit!) along with an Onkyo C-7030 CD player, an Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB turntable and a 230W Onkyo sub. I listen to several different genres of music and only need to use the sub when I want some booming bass from classic rock. Most others sound great with the bass that these speakers produce. I highly recommend these speakers!

Pros: 1. Great performance at the price point. The cherry cabinets look old-school and way better than the black IMO. 2. Great sales & support staff at Crutchfield. I've started steering others away from the big box stores.

Cons: UPS handling of the boxes. They were large & heavy of course and I noticed that UPS did not use a cart bringing them to my door.

First let me start by saying, these are my first set of Polk audio speakers. Now, for the fun part! I've spent thousands of dollars on speakers for in home comparison. I've compared these to def tech bp series, paradigm studio 100v2, HTD level 3, SVS Prime, Cerwin Vega, Energy, Klipsch, and Onkyo THX speakers. None, and i mean none of the speakers compare to these polks! These are a force to be reckoned with. The closest sounding speakers were the HTD level 3 and they were 850 a pair vs 600 for these polks. The polks had the best sound of all I've listed to. Not only to me, but to other people as well, including my fiancé. I'm running these single wire on an Onkyo thx receiver at 130wpc into 8 ohms. They're loud, crystal clean, and really freaking accurate! I can't see anyone needing any other speakers unless you're a high end brand snob. Take it from me, these are the best you can buy under 2k and I've spent hours listening through them all. (Pure direct mode) so there was no EQ, just music how it's meant to be heard. Shout out to Quinn! My sales rep. Very helpful! Also, Crutchfield, this is how a company is meant to be ran! Customer for life!

Pros: Everything! These speakers are amazing! The sale price is astounding and they cannot. Be beaten. Not unless you spend 2k or more on towers. And unless you have an expensive amp to push the high end towers you'll not notice anything to brag about. The sound is impeccable! The finish is gorgeous! They're built solid!

Cons: None! Absolutely nothing to complain about on these!

Great sounding speakers and Cherry finish is beautiful. Sound is very clear with great bass (Both highs and lows are great for music). I am using these speakers for Music only (Turntable, and music streaming from MacBook Pro). Connected to Yamaha Stereo Receiver Model R-N303. Crutchfield advised a great product for my music listening. Both boxes were not handled well by UPS and severely damaged during shipment (Arrived with holes and cracks all over both boxes). Good thing the speakers were not damaged inside the box.

If you are reading this then you have most likely read the rest of the reviews. Any product that gets such consistently high marks means that it delivers. These speakers certainly do that. I'm into vintage audio and was still listening to some first generation Advents. Although I'm still using my late 70's era receivers (Pioneer SX-1280 and Sansui 9090DB both recently refurbished and upgraded) I had to move my sound room and the Advents we a little too big. So, I decided to move into the 21st century, speaker wise. I suspect that most speakers in this price range sound pretty much alike. But, I own a pair of vintage Polk Monitor 5jr's and those little guys are amazing. What actually sold me on the RTi A7 verses its competition was the look. The cherry veneer is furniture grade and the curved back enclosure, besides helping with some sonic gremlins (supposedly), bespeak of quality. Also, in my case, that little extra space on the back side created by that curve really helped me relative to placement. When Crutchfield put them on sale, the choice was made. I am extremely satisfied with these speakers.

Pros: Great sound from lows to highs Beautiful enclosures

Cons: None

Exquisite sonic reproductive quality. Tight punchy bass, subtle controlled yet well blended mids, and spot on highs. The sound these towers produce have blown me away. Was torn between these and the Klipcsh RF-62 towers, I'm glad I chose the Polks. To me they look much better as I'm not a fan of the copper colored cones on the Klipcsh. And these have a smoother sound. Great line and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great sounding setup musically and movie wise.

Pros: Look stunning Sound incredible Great build quality

Cons: At these price how could you complain about anything these have to offer. Just give them a try and you'll be glad you did

Absolutely beautiful speakers. Just bought the cherry and pictures do not do these speakers justice. With that being said I have say I did a side by side comparison sound test with my older Polk rti8 Towers which consist of two 6 and a half drivers and one ince tweeter and the sound was pretty much identical with the exception of more powerful bass on the rti a7 speaker. Not saying that it's a bad thing because I'd still rather have the newer model and with the looks and price they can't be beat. I am just blown away at the construction of these speakers. They are like a high end piece of furniture. I want to point out that people who claim to be so called audiophiles and experts saying that these speakers need at least 200 watts to open up and won't sound so great with say a 100 watt amp are wrong. I'm using a denon 125 watt per channel receiver and it powers these big boys up loud and smooth with no harsh sound or distortion. If I were to put it any louder I'd be blowing my windows out not to mention my ear drums. This comes from a musician going on 40 years standing in front of many mega loud amps. It is not so much the wattage your amp says it has as it is how much usable clean power you have. A quality amp will give you quality sound. The other thing I'd like to point out is the bi-wiring and bi-amping myths. Bi-wiring will do absolutely nothing. Bi-amping will do nothing unless you use separate amps. Using your receivers oth

Pros: All.

Cons: Other than the boxes they came in looking like they were thrown down 3 flights of stairs, surprisingly they weren't damaged.

I would start by saying great speaker, great sound and great price. I got these speakers on a massive sale they are having at Crutchfield. I started with a set of Wharfedale Diamond 240s, and I was not happy with the overall sound. I replaced those with a set of these Polk A7s, and it was an immediate improvement in sound. I have these setup to a home theater and use these for about 70% music / 30% tv/movie use. I listen to classic rock, rock, jazz, pop and I can tell you these speakers sound amazing. I have a Pioneer receiver, and used the MCACC setup. I actually have these set as "small" speakers to allow my subwoofer to handle the low stuff. In switching between large and small, the difference was not extremely noticeable...very slight. So I am ok with them as small. I also used my receiver to bi-amp these by using the rear zone speakers (I think for Atmos) that I do not own. I felt the clarity and overall response did increase significantly with bi-amping them. If you have the option to do that, I would recommend this. I would highly recommend these for the above average music and movie fan, these a great addition to anchor your front sound without breaking the bank. I would also add, don't settle for speakers you aren't fully happy with, you can achieve the sound you are looking for with almost any budget. These Polk RTi's don't disappoint, it sounds like Eric Clapton is playing in my family room - crystal clear, I can hear the guitar strings picking.

Pros: -Rich, full sound thru the whole spectrum (treble, mids and bass) -Impeccable clarity -Bi-wire/amp capable -Price / overall value

Cons: -Really none, perhaps a touch bright, but nothing close to causing any listening fatigue

I bi-amped my Polk speakers to a Yamaha A770 receiver with the intention of using as a stereo music system initially with future surround sound hook-up. The sound was clear with well integrated bass. Midrange was crisp and the tweeter sound was both clear and crisp on sharp rock guitar rifts as well as surprisingly warm on classical music choices. Even my skeptical wife was very pleased with the sound delivered. I am looking forward to even better response as speakers are burned in over time. Comment: speakers do draw quite a bit of power so they should be coupled with at least a 200 watt receiver/amp. Note: if connected to Yamaha receiver without center channel speaker, receiver will need to be set on stereo to pick up voice when passing tv output through speakers

First let me start by saying that the support that I received over the phone was excellent. The staff at Crutchfield are knowledgeable, professional and courteous. The speakers arrived on time but the boxes were heavily damaged. Needless to say I was very concerned. After taking photos and signing that I received them (with notations concerning the damage), I immediately called Customer service and advised them of the situation. They told me to open them and inspect for damage with full assurance that if there was any damages it would be made right. To my surprise there was no damages at all. That says a lot about how well they are packed. Lastly let me say that these speakers are beautiful pieces of furniture, heavy and well made. Equally the sound quality and engineering are excellent . I am well pleased with this product and would highly recommend it.

Pros: Outstanding value for the price. Craftmenship is excellent as well as the performance.

Cons: Not really a con for me but they are big and heavy so you need to keep that in mind.

i see some reviews of the RTi series speakers saying they distort at high volume. i use a receiver with pre amp out Front left and right into a 300w stage amp pushing into the RTiA7s. I also have a 300w Polk Audio sub. I run the amp at 90% and can turn the volume completely up on the receiver without any distortion if I'm listening to recently recorded or remastered music. This is an awesome system folks and everyone that walks into the game room agrees. These speakers were not made to be pushed by a so called 160w receiver, if you don't have a 300w system then you don't need 300w speakers anyway. I know this because i tried it and burned up the tweeters which Polk Audio replaced. I've had this system for over 5 years and believe me I'm totally satisfied.

I added these to a Bose Acoustimass 5 and a vintage Infinity Reference 2 set to build a "sound wall" on each side of my living room using a Niles speaker switch and a Velodyne subwoofer and Infinity center. The sound is now at a new dimension !! The settings on my Onkyo receiver allow me to switch my set up very nicely for both surround sound with my TV or for pure music listening on the "All Channel Stereo" mode driving all the speakers in my configuration. Wish I would have done this years ago. The music is now very immersive and feels like being at a live performance. I never really experienced this at home before so now I am listening to alot more music.

Great overall speakers for music and movies! Beautiful build quality ,Very power hungry thow ! I had to bi-amp them to stop clipping at high volume. I have them bi-amped to my marantz 7011 and they sound perfect now up to 90 Wich is where I have the volume limited at. They flex every window in my 2000 sqft house so personally I will probably not buy a sub for awhile .granted my crossover in the marantz is set to 40hz but with them bi-amped they seem to go lower .granted it is not that chest compressing bass you would get with a sub that can extend down to 15-20hz but it is good enough to save your money on a sub for awhile! But overall after a week of breaking them in they have a very natural tone and decently balanced between mids, highs and lower bass extension . They Excel at just about anything you throw at them . Just have a good amp to push them .and definitely bi-amp them if possible they need the extra current!

Pros: Great sound and excellent build quality!

Cons: Very power hungry!

I'm used to the speakers from the 70's and 80's, meaning AR's, Dahlquist, ESS, real JBL's. But I needed decent speakers on a $600 budget and I like plenty of midrange, as well as smooth highs and deep but not overwhelming bass. These are hooked up with my 70's era stereo amp. The more I listen to them the more I like them. Artists like Jackson Brown voice sounds smooth, Al Dimeola guitar comes out realistic both electric and acoustic. I auditioned these at the store against all kinds up to $2,000 and for the money these were the best compromise. I was hesitant to buy anything yet, because while the speakers are designed in the U.S. they are manufactured in China. But they seem to be very well constructed.

Pros: Constructed well. Great dispersion.

Cons: Impossible to get out of the box. Easy to damage if you are not patient and careful.

I told him I was interested in the Polk Audio RTi A7s, had a couple of questions that he answered quickly and I ordered them. One question was how well my roughly 5 year old Pioneer VSX 1020 would drive them, Ryan indicated it would be a good match. I did switch it back to conventional stereo and am very satisfied with the looks, sound and value of the purchase The promised ship date was was 11/27 Monday but the UPS truck actually hit my driveway by 10AM Saturday 11/25 undamaged. I was relieved the driver said he made mine the first stop of the day so there was a better chance of someone being home and the speakers not sitting loud and proud on my front porch! The buying experience was also very good. The Crutchfield name was a familiar one as I remember seeing the magazine waaaaay back in the day.

I have not had a new pair of speakers in about 30 years and what a surprise. These Polk RTi A7 speakers are better than I was expecting! I can't wait till they are broken in and I hear all the nuances in the variety of music I listen to. Am already experiencing some of the sounds that were buried in the background when listening to my old speakers. What a treat. Wish I had bought them before now! And the price break on them was unbelievable! And to say they look nice too is a bit of an understatement. They are beautiful! I am very satisfied with my purchase and the time it took to get them delivered at no cost!!!

Pros: Deep rich bass and very good mid-range and high end. Look great too as they almost match the cherry stand my tv is on.

Cons: Have them set up in a rather small loft area in my condo and have yet to turn the volume on my 100 watt Technics receiver half way before getting blown out of the room. Would love to see what the can handle!

Fantastic speakers ! great sound ,great Bass, great Price ! was going to move my old front two old Polk monitor speakers to my TV surround system and needed two replacement speakers for my music set up. researched and listened to what others had to say. found out that these speakers were listed as top speakers of 2017 and other customers raved about them, and when Crutchfield reduced the price per pair-SOLD I now have them matched with two Infinity P362 Primus speakers, result-Perfect !

Would have given a 5 star review; however I just purchased the coordinating CSi A3 center channel speaker less than 4 weeks ago and things are still adapting and getting broken -in with more and more usage. I used to have some RTi 100 front speakers and a CSi 3 Polk Audio center channel speaker. I just felt I need an upgrade. Since the RTi A7 speakers were on sale from their MSRP I believed it was the right purchase to make at this time. It's very similar to the RTi 100's front speakers and the accompanying CSi 3 center channel. It's just that now instead of having a powered downward firing sub-woofer like what was on the RTi 100's; I hook-up the RTi A7's with a Bi-amp connection. Next Onkyo home theater receiver I purchase; I plan on buying 12 gauge speaker wire and banana plug-ins. Right now I'm still using XP Monster cable 16 gauge speaker wires. Works fine. But I've heard the sound improves if you get 10 gauge or 12 gauge speaker wire.

Present amp is losing a channel. Can anybody complain that their 1985 Pioneer Syscom integrated amp only lasted three decades? Too bad Pioneer no longer makes stereo integrated amps. Can't wait to apply an amp that can drive these speakers. If they go like they show, it'll be an audio "E" ticket ride. Chuck M.

Love them! Great look, rich sound, better movie experience! The wife likes them too!! I purchased a pair of black RTi A7's, they took a week to be delivered; UPS called me to set up time which I thought was great and then rolled them into my living room as they are very heavy. I connected these to an older receiver (Onkyo TX-NR708). The A7's replaced a pair of front Polk RM6751 satellite speakers (used for rear, Front, & Surround). The sub I have is a 100watt (not 50 watt) RM6750 and as well have one RM6752 center channel speaker. The difference is obvious as the front RM6751 speakers were tailored for a smaller setup; albeit I have always liked them. Having A7's as my front speakers now has our family movie night back on. The only downfall with adding such great speakers to an older setup is that it has certainly made me start shopping for a new more updated, more powerful receiver, an additional better sub, and better surround sound speakers! :)

Pros: Good price, great looking, well designed, sound great!

Cons: none so far...

I ordered a pair of these in cherry at 1:30 on Tuesday October 10 and was listening to them in my living room by 3:00 the next day. They look and sound great. I listen mostly to classical music and the middle range and upper bass are full and rich. I'm running them with a Yamaha RX-V665 (90 watts /channel). I was contemplating a number of Tower speakers for the fronts of my surround system. I always felt that Polk speakers were constructed with a quality feel, and had sound above their price point, but still had not decided. Then Crutchfield announced their deals on the RTi series, and that became an excellent bargain. As usual Crutchfield was a customer centered company, and all went as expected as far as shipping and service. The speakers, by the way, are packaged very carefully and securely for shipping.

Pros: So far the sound is clean and bass is deeper and cleaner than I expected. From other reviews, it should be even better after break-in period. The Cabinet work is very nice (Cherry) and finished beautifully.

Cons: none at this point

I have purchased 8 pairs of the RTi A7s over the past few years. All are still going strong. However, my last two pair, I have noticed a small decline in quality. Crutchfield has been great @ handling the issue.

Pros: VERY durable as far as getting bumped with a vacuum or resisting scratches other types of speaker finishes would be susceptible to.

I ordered these speakers after doing my homework and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. They are incredibly balanced and all of the nuances you might experience in a live setting seem to be captured. I listen to blues, classic rock and older jazz-they sound great with whatever I throw at them. The salespeople at Crutchfield were knowledgeable and courteous-they will get my business again. If you're looking for a moderately priced loudspeaker that will easily fill a small to medium sized room, seriously consider these. I'm pushing mine with an Onkyo TX-NR636 and at 95 watts a side, these sound great.

Pros: Full, balanced sound, great construction, beautifully finished.

I am a DJ from m the 80's. Purchased a set of A7's and tied them to a restored Carver 500T. Anyone disappointed in these speakers just don't have enough power. I am a firm believer in separation of music and movies. I have had more speakers than I can count since 1970. These by far have the best top to bottom range. At 10 watts metered my room is full led. When I take it to a real 100watts (not AV 100 but real power) it is amazing with no distortion.

Due to a remodel, I was presented with the opportunity to upgrade my 5.1 system. My old system consisted of two small Infinity bookshelf speakers and smaller speakers making up my center and surrounds. After looking at speakers within our budget I settled on the RTi A7's along with the FXi-A6's (surround) and the matching CSi-A6. This was my first experience with any Polk Audio speakers. Unfortunately, in my area I wasn't able to get to a location to actually listen to them. I had listened to Kilipsh in a couple of different stores and determined it wasn't the sound I was looking for. I listed to the new Polk Signature Series in a store. I loved the mains however I wasn't impressed with the center channel. My room is 25' x 13' and didn't feel the new Signature Series center would provide enough umph for the size room I was trying to fill. I really wanted to timbre my entire speaker system therefore the Signature series was out. After looking through the reviews, and knowing about Crutchfield's return policy, I decided to take gamble and made the purchase. Honestly, I really wanted to purchase the RTi A9's because I was worried that the A7's wouldn't fill the room enough. I was happily surprised to discover that they did a fantastic great job! The entire Polk lineup that I purchased sounds fantastic!! You're getting a much better sound for the money your spending! I've bi-amped the A7's and they sound clear, crisp and full. Exactly what I was looking for!!

Pros: Value for price, build quality, sound quality

Cons: None

I'm very disappointed with these speakers. The highs are very harsh. The mids are non impressive and get really bad at high volume. I really had high hopes for these to be warm and inviting. I've had this pair for a couple months now and broke them in before writing my review. I listen to a brood range of music. I understand the difference in recordings. These are really good speakers for the money! When I move to my new house I will be purchasing the RTIA9's...and these will go in the rear, but for now they are amazing sound and build quality. These speakers are playing at a minimum of 4 hours a day...love my music and movies. They are paired with a tsx250c center. Nice and heavy! And beautiful color over the Klipsch's cherry color. I would highly recommend anyone looking at these, to go through with it! You will not regret it!

Pros: Heavy build quality and beautiful sound for an entry level tower.

Cons: As always, this should already be known. But you should break this in for at least 50+ hours before really turning them up!

First off, i'd like to address the "you'll need a sub" item. I suppose if you have these speakers in a very large room, well away from any walls, you may not experience the same bass response as I do. I have them in a 12x18 room... near side walls, and i can tell you that the low subsonic frequencies in those suspenseful scenes in movies is all there... spooky good! I was jaw-dropped the first time I heard this. It vibrates(not shakes) the whole room, furniture and me included... with no detectable distortion at all from the cabinets. Y'know, that low subsonic rumble, probably around 60hz, that they love to put in movies these days. Absolutely no need for a subwoofer in my room. As for music, (mostly FLAC files), I couldn't be happier with these... paired with my older yamaha 85w receiver(2 ch.). Highs are nice and bright, but not overwhelming. Mids and bass are tight and well balanced. I have yet o turn it up loud enough to detect any distortion, and I usually listen to music at half way or more on the amps volume. So there it is... if you have a huge, open room, maybe get the A9s. If you have a medium sized room, and place your speakers near back or side walls, forget about a sub... you won't need it. And yes, these sound great with my 85w amp. No need for 200w+ as some have mentioned.

Pros: All around great speakers. Look great, sound great.

Cons: none.

Just received my pair (black) of these bad boys and so far they're living up to expectations. Crystal clear sound and tight bass. They sound incredibly great. I'm powering them with Denon AVR X4100W. Switched the receiver to Manual setting so I could properly set up the Equalizer to my taste. You can't beat the price considering other brands that costs triple or quadruple that don't even come close in terms of audiophile standard. I took a chance and purchased based on others review and comments and so far have no regrets. Just had them for little over 24h. Also received a free psw111 subwoofer but not using that right now.

Pros: Nice looking and solidly built. Clear sound and tight bass

Cons: So far none

I recently upgraded my stereo system. I went from a Pioneer receiver and JBL speakers to Polk A7's with a Polk PSW110. I am firing those bad boys up with a Yamaha R-S700. It has 100w per channel of AZZ kicking power. I added an Onkyo CD player and my old timetable from my old unit for my LP's. The sound is great from all units. The sw is awesome with the A7's. If you like good looking and good sounding speakers A7's is the way to go. If you into music, the Yamaha R-S700 has more than enough power.

Pros: These are some good looking and well built speakers. Anyone that sees them can tell you are serious about music.

Cons: none so far

Very clean and full sound in a room that has 10' ceilings, is 20' wide and about 40' deep. I replaced some RT55's with these and use them as my front channels in my 5.1 system. Just the size difference of the cabinet separates the sound better and creates a wider, more robust stage. Very nice looking and fit in well with the rest of the wood in my viewing area.

Pros: Clean, tight, room filling sound. Look great.

Cons: None at this point.

More than I expected! Ordered a pair rti a7's for the front with the a6 center, and moved rti a3's to the rear. Immense difference from using the a3's as fronts. well built, fit and finish is outstanding. Most of all they sound great. Nice midrange, sharp highs, and plenty of bass for my 24 by 18 room. Sound great at any volume level. And as always a pleasure to deal with crutchfield.

Pros: fit,finish,and quality of sound

Cons: none

Beautiful, sturdy and well-designed. I wanted a pair of speakers for a simple home stereo audio set up. I did lots of research and these always came up as some of the best out there. The Polk website was offering a buy one, get the second at half price deal. Crutchfield matched it. Quick shipping, well packaged, they look and sound fabulous. I also needed an amp to drive them, and wanted to be able to play music from ipods/ipads and computers. I'm not an audiophile obviously, so I coupled them with the Sonos Connect amp and this set up is absolutely wonderful. You can fill the house with music from the living room, or sit quietly without disturbing the rest of the household, listening to classical stuff and still hear every instrument. This is a great set-up for an imposing music set up without breaking the bank on an expensive amp.

Pros: To these old ears they are flawless.

Cons: None.

YES these speakers sound Great - but - There are a few things to mention. First is price, I got mine on a very nice discount - if I had paid full price I would not be as happy. They replaced my Tsi400's so there is an improvement but they are just 1 part of my speaker system and they are not near as good an my Klipsch F-30's. These Polk's need so much power compared to the Klipsch and I have had to go back and adjust all the settings on my amp. - adjusting how much power is sent to each speaker terminal. Thank Goodness my Yamaha RX-V2700 allows me to do that. 140 Watts per channel X 7 channels.

Pros: They are great speakers - just quite expensive for what you are getting and compared to others.

Cons: Too expensive for what you get (so look for a nice SALE) Not very efficient - require a lot of Power compared to some other Hi-End speakers in the same price range. (Klipsch F-30's)

If you listen to music a lot, and are looking for a high quality, completely satisfying, enveloping sound from your speakers I highly recomend the Polk Audio RTiA7's. Received them from Crutchfield on the 4th business day and listened to them all week-end with no listener fatigue or disappointment of any kind. Have them connected to a Yamaha 85wpc Integrated amp., also from Cruitchfield, and I feel this is as good as it gets.

Pros: Excellent bass, mid and treble. A truly satisfying ear pleasing sound. 5 star in all areas. Beautiful cabnet

Cons: None

They're alright

They're okay. I've had them for about 4 months now, so they're well broken in. It was between these (the RTIs) and the Paradigm Monitor series for a new theater setup for a new apartment. I ended up going with the Polks because they were a little bit less, especially on promo with the discounted sub, and because they're better to look at with the real wood veneer. If I had to do it over again, though, I would have gone with the Paradigms. The Polks, while nicer to look at, don't come close to the Paradigm's performance. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad necessarily, But they're not great either. They're pretty flat sounding, not a lot of spaciousness to the sound, not much depth, either. I think the best way to describe the sound would be boring. You don't get excited about listening to the Polks, and you don't feel involved, be it with music or movies. You're just there, and so are the speakers. If you're coming from some cheap-o stuff or a HTIB, then you'll likely be impressed. If you're like me and have had nicer stuff in the past, you'll be disappointed most likely. Build quality is great though; they are sharp looking in cherry. If you prioritize looks over performance, the Polks are the way to go. If you care more about the sound, then in this general price bracket, I'd go for the Paradigms, which is what I'll be doing next time.

Pros: Great build quality, sharp looks, inoffensive sound, and relatively low price.

Cons: Boring to listen to. They don't draw you into the performance, be it music or movies.

These speakers are fantastic, and if other reviews are correct they will only get better in time! These replaced 15 year old technics and they blow them away, crisp and clear with good bass. Money well spent. Someday I hope to add the center/rear speakers (Polks of course).

Pros: Great sound + Crutchfield threw in a FREE subwoofer

Cons: The wife and the neighbors don't seem to like them :)

This is not my first Polk purchase but it certainly is the best! Purchased the RTi A7's from Crutchfield in cherry. Delivery was very fast. Every time I play them they get better and better. Absolutely love the mid-range as well as the bass. The high's are crystal clear as well. The finish is gorgeous. They look like very fine furfniture. Love the curves. My setup is as follows: Adcom GFA 555II, Adcom GFP815, TEAC CD-1000, Denon DCM-390, Sony SCD-CE595, Audio Quest Golden Gate cables, bi-wired.

Couldn't be happier with my new RTiA7's. Replaced my old Polk RT 7's, which were pretty good front surround speakers, and was pleasantly surprised by the crisp, clear and bold sound from the RTiA7's. And good looking as well.

Pros: Crisp, clear solid sound. Great looking

I have these RTi-A7s paired with an older Sony STR-DE925 and they sound amazing! The clarity of the bass, mid-range and highs is so impressive. The bass is never boomy, the voices and mid-range instruments are all audible and clean, and the highs are there like never before. The imagery created by the RTi A7s is so nice that I find myself listening to all types of music in stereo mode all over again. Perfect for my needs! Look forward to adding the center and surround channels.

Pros: Clean, crisp sound without a boomy bass. Imagery is simply beautiful. No need for a sub listening to stereo mode. Black cabinets are gorgeous.

Cons: If you are worried about space, you would not be looking at floor standing speakers :-) Recommend 100+watts/channel. I went from one receiver at 85W/Channel to another with 110W/Channel and there was a notable difference in sound production in the lower end.

These are fantastic speakers. I got these as the main speakers for my home theater system this year. I heard speakers at another store that cost 2-4 times this price, and these speakers produce excellent sound. I am in no way disappointed. Rich, vibrant, and true sound, I recommend these without hesitation. Best value for the money I have seen

Pros: excellent sound reproduction, lots of power, rich, and vibrant sound for all forms of music and movies

Some do pay more for less, but I'm the case of the RTiA7's you receive a broad enveloping sound stage with an articulated presence of musicality without really knowing you have speakers present. Equipment: PS Audio, Acurus, Rotel, Cambridge Audio, Sony Reference, Sim Audio Moon Legacy.

I bought a pair of these five years ago as part of a home theater system that includes other premium Polk speakers an onkyo 3001 receiver and two polk 660 subs. I wasn't sure that I needed these large speakers at the time. But not only are they a true standout when watching movies but they have me listening to much more music set on two channel stereo mode with the subs on. The imaging is remarkable and gives you a clear picture of the instruments and vocals before you. They do require a sub as most people have stated but that doesn't diminish them since any home theater needs at least one. As far as appearance they are the nicest furniture in our family room by far. No regrets.
