Excellent Speakers

Awesome Speakers!! It certainly added value to my surround system. As I continue to play it I see so much improvement. The midrange is so prominent so are the woofers.

Pros: The output is incredible. The woofers blend in perfectly with my sub woofers. I wish I knew where the sounds are coming from.

Cons: Can't think of any

Big improvment to my system

Recently replaced my 10 year old Yamaha 7.1 receiver with a Yamaha RX v485. I was already using Polk Audio TSI 300 speakers for mains as well as Polk bookshelf T15 surrounds, Polk center channel and a Polk powered subwoofer. I repurposed the TSI 300 speakers for use as surrounds and added these RTi A7 towers for mains. Wow, big improvement. Clarity, bass response, presence, separation are all way better. They can handle any amount of volume I care to give them. These towers are larger than the old mains. Also heavier. But they still have a fairly small footprint and fit well in my room. Very happy with this purchase.

Pros: Improved clarity, stronger bass, great looks

Cons: None

These speakers exceeded my expectations. These are not going to be my last pair of Polk. Bass is top notch and is relatively a small foot print and a great finish that matches my furniture. Thinking of getting a Polk surround system

Pros: Great sound for my vacuum tube amp and I love the beautiful design of the cabinet

Cons: None to me. I want more Polk Speakers

Need break-in...then beautiful, balanced, solid...

Jim from Heber City, UT on 6/17/2020

I've been into stereo componentry since the dawn of consumer stereo in 1958 and have owned many pairs of speakers of different brands and price ranges. In February I fulfilled a long-standing "dream" of buying a McIntosh amp (from Crutchfield). So with the hope that Moore's law applies to speakers like other technologies, I looked on this site and found these at a ridiculously low price. After some study on the Internet and talking to Buddy (great advisor at Crutchfield) I pulled the trigger. They came yesterday as scheduled. I plugged them in and, initially, was massively disappointed (!!) then I remembered one of these reviews indicating that these need some break-in time (never experienced that with a speaker before). That along with Buddy's enthusiasm about the speaker kept me listening to all kinds of music for a number of hours and I noticed that they really were getting better by the hour. Now I'm 24 hours into them and can report that, happily, they are as good as I could have hoped. They really did need that break-in because out of the box they were shrill and nasal and very unpleasant above mid-range. That's all gone away and they are now a worthy companion to my McIntosh amplifier. Live and learn....

Pros: Beautifully manufactured; beautiful cabinets; very balanced and natural sound.

Cons: They need breaking in and there ought to be a warning about that because the initial impression IS NOT the long-term impression (after break-in). Not particularly easy to unpack.

I purchased the RTI A7 three months ago ( music only). I was considered my Cambridge Audio Azure 640a 75w wouldn't have enough power to let them produce a high quality experience. Boy was I wrong unbelievable pure crisp sound! I add the Polk Audio DSW PRO 550 subwoofer I cant even turn it up half as loud as the old Polk Audio S10 floor speakers I replaced. Extremely happy with my purchase!

Pros: Great looking, amazing sound, affordable

Have been using the speakers for music and movies for about two weeks now and they are great. The sound is very nicely balanced with powerful bass and clear mids and highs. I've seen some reviewers complain about the treble but it sounds fine to me. I definitely recommend these speakers and Crutchfield.

Brian from Philadelphia on 6/2/2020

The construction of these is top notch. I still can't believe the price. Seems like they would cost 2x as much. To get the most out of these here are some tips. Give them at least two months to break in. Just run them full range and hard for two months and they will break in. I like them spread wide apart slighly towed inward. Also use the EQ room settings recommended by the room setup program. Mine cut 125hz bass and added 13khz highs for a much improved sound. I now have the smaller A3's which are a better fit for my small room so the A7's are being sold. I am not really able to position the A7's properly due to space limitations. Too small of a room reduces imaging, dept and soundstage. To sound their best these speakers need 18 to 24 inches of space from the rear and side walls. I would recommend the A7's for rooms 20x20 feet or 20x30 or larger. My room is only 15x15.

Pros: If setup properly outstanding sound quality, depth, imagining and soundstage. Bass is good for a tower speaker. My 12 year old 120 watt rms per channel Pioneer receiver has no trouble pushing these. Construction is top notch. Drivers and xover are top notch.

Cons: Not a good choice for a small room.

I chose the Polk RTi A7 speakers over the RTi A5. I haven't heard the A5's so I cannot compare but I am very happy with the A7's. Upon first hookup and listening, they sounded good, but didn't blow me away. But....As you get some more time on them, they just sound better and better. Bass is not subwoofer level but they do provide just the right amount of tight defined, not boomy, bass. Midrange is not overpowering, just the right amount. At first, the highs were a little forward and bright, but they are smoothing out as use time goes up. My only gripe, and this is with he entire line of RTi speakers is the grille. The plastic pins fit very tightly into the rubber grommets mounted to the face of the speaker. Not a huge deal, but the only thing I could think of. I would highly recommend them, especially at the price they are right now. Upon delivery inspection, one of the boxes had a small hole in the side, but luckily there was absolutely no damage to the speaker. I am seriously considering the A9's as well. Thank you Hogan!

Pros: Awesome sound with a little break-in time on them.

Cons: Weight - very heavy and awkward to move. Keep the boxes and packing material if you need to store or transfer them to another location. Speaker grilles are tight to install and remove. Plastic pins fit tightly into rubber grommets. Install them and leave 'em on or just leave them off.

So far so good I only had the speakers RTi7 for a couple of weeks so this will be a partial review. Looks, one of the reasons I pick these speakers are the looks I got the cherry color and they look awesome y like that they have a curve to them so they are aesthetically pleasing to look as opposed to the usual square box of most speakers. Sound, I have them hook up bi amp to a Denon DRA-800H 2 channels receiver , and they sound beautiful . I am thinking of adding down the road an amplifier, just to squeeze a little bit more juice out of these beauties. I am by not means an audiophile, but I love music I enjoy to sitting in my living room and listening to beautiful sounds to my heart content ?? Crutchfield, deliver the speakers on time only took 3 days from purchase to my house , they came well package and perfect condition, happy camper here.

Pros: Aesthetically pleasing to look at with beautiful cherry color.

Cons: Don't want to jinx anything so far none.

I already had Polk sub, center, and rear speakers. I was using Bose 201's for my front speakers but just couldn't get the richness and fullness of sound that I wanted. These speakers finish my system quite nicely with the quality of sound I wanted. The cherry RTi A7 are beautiful. I didn't consider the size when I ordered them so I was a bit surprised by how large they are, but I have a large room (20 x 30 w 10 ft ceiling) so they work quite nicely.

I owned a pair of Polk Audio R50 floor standing speakers and just upgraded to the Rti A7. It is a good choice! My speakers is driving by a Harman Kardon AVR-445, with a Velodyne Subwoofer. I test by streaming different kind of music from You Tube and they sound wonderful in all aspect. Especially the mid range and vocal sound is very good. Mid base is tight and blending so well with the base of my sub. I did not have a chance to audit before purchasing but thanks to those who gave reviews to these speakers. Great speakers for the price.

Pros: Well packaging when ship. High quality build. Beautiful looks. Very good sound, especially vocal and string instruments.

Always been a fan of Polk speakers. Had my Yamaha RX-A1060 receiver pushing front/rear RTi A1s for years, along with the CSi A4 as center. The RTi A1s are very good little speakers. However, I was looking to upgrade to larger speakers and the price for the RTi A7 to replace the fronts made a lot of sense. The whole purchase and delivery process went smoothly and the speakers came in without a scratch. I'm running the RTi A7 speakers in bi-amp mode. The honest truth is I have not listened to speakers that are 10x the cost of these, but for the price they are just outright phenomenal speakers. The build quality is exceptional; look, feel, and sound like speakers that should be 10x more. Movies to general music just sounds so much alive with these speakers. I just put in an order to upgrade my center speakers from the Polk CSi A4 to A6 to better voice match the fronts. Again, great speakers for the price.

Much needed replacement of my old speaker system

Crutchfield customer from Columbus, OH on 5/14/2020

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I have been wanting to replace my current set of stereo speakers for quite some time now. I purchased my Dahlquist DQ 10's in 1978 and they are badly in need of a refurbishment and an upgrade. Rather than spending $500 or so doing that and still owning a set of really inefficient speakers (they require a minimum of 200 wpc), I decided to replace them. I recently purchased a pair of Polk Audio RTi A3 bookshelf speakers for my girlfriend and was duly impressed by them. After researching other similar speaker systems, I was leaning toward these Polk Audio RTi A7's; the sale price made my decision clear. Ordering through Crutchfield was quick, easy and fairly painless. Right out of the box, I was pleased. The fit and finish of these speakers are superb. The sound also is great and they really aren't even broken in yet. I think that in a month or so, I will really be pleased.

Pros: Fit and finish Impressive performance Stylish design

Cons: Will probably need to add a powered subwoofer at some point after break-in period. UPS delivery leaves a lot to be desired; boxes were damaged however the speakers arrived safely.

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Great value. It would be pretty dang hard to beat these at their price point, especially on sale. Bass is a tad bit lacking but hopefully a little break in will help with that. I would expect to add a sub to fill out the sound if you're looking at these speakers but otherwise soundwise they're great! I'm also not a huge fan of the faux wood grain they have for their black and I think a piano black or something that doesn't have that cheap look would make these look so much nicer. I would have gotten the cherry but unfortunately it wouldn't match in our house.

Pros: great value Clear sound

Cons: bass a little lacking

Thanks to the recommendations of the Crutchfleld staff I consulted with, we are thoroughly enjoying out Polk Audio speaker setup. The TRi A7's serve as the main front speakers when in video sound modes and pair perfectly with the center and surround sound speakers; also Polk Audio (reviewed separately. Crisp highs, smooth midrange and commanding bass, given the size of the cones. These babies handle all the power my Denon receiver packs with no discernible distortion. At this price for the pair, these sound machines were a steal and well worth the money. Were the room larger, I might have opted for the A9s but these are fine for a small to mid-size living/family room.

Pros: See above

Cons: Was a little confused, at first, by two sets of leadwire connectors.

You won't be disappointed

Crutchfield customer from Columbia, MO on 4/26/2020

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I am a long-term audiophile on a budget: No $20,000 amplifiers or pairs of speakers for me. And when I say "long-term", just let me say that my listening career began with two pairs of Large Advent speakers, stacked configuration, close to 50 years ago. Recently I decided to change my living room and media room systems and needed a pair of speakers for the LR system that sounded good and looked nice. I decided to try the Polk RTi A7s based on both the specs and user reviews (and Polk's long-standing rep for quality). They replaced a pair of Def Tech BP7002s, which moved to the media room. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. The Polks give up nothing in terms of imaging, soundfield, and low distortion and are beautiful to boot. The area I figured would be least able to keep up with the Def Techs was bass, and this is where I may be most surprised. The Polks are very close in terms of both depth of bass and ability to "grab the room". I think I am in a good position to judge overall sound quality and perhaps bass in particular; my other speakers besides the Def Techs are Paradigm Studio 100s, v3, and Golden Ear Triton 2s. All have great bass in addition to being high value speakers that punch well above their weight class. The Polks have now joined the club. They represent an even better value, with similar sound quality for a lot less money. Buy a pair, and I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Pros: Great sound, look even better than the pics suggest

Cons: none

Recently started upgrading the speakers in my home theater system. I picked these Polk Audio RTi A7s after researching for months. These were right within my budget. After a couple weeks now. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase. The clarity and detail are amazing. I have these bi-amped from a Sony -STR-DN1080. I love the capability they have to play music or movies without any noticeable difference. I truly believe that having woofers, midrange, and tweeters make a big difference. As always Crutchfield delivered outstanding service, fast delivery and great price.

I did a huge amount of research on my own, but in the end Crutchfield's excellent customer service (Carson and Tina helped me out) and SpeakerCompare helped me make my choice. I've been slowly upgrading my components over the years, buying various bookshelf and smaller surround system speakers, but I've always missed the full stereo sound from a great pair of floor standing speakers. Crutchfield's sale price finally put these in a range i could not resist. I've had these for just over two weeks now and could not be more pleased. They are especially impressive at the low end, which I love because i did not want to add a subwoofer to the room. My rock, folk, classical and jazz vinyl albums have all come alive again. Midrange and vocals are already sublime and I can't wait to hear them sound even better after a bit more of a break-in period.

Pros: Stylish curves and powerful, clean sound

Cons: They are deeper than expected, but necessary to deliver that impressive bass.

Polk's RTI 7 speakers are warm, with a pleasant high, mid and woofer sound-- very balanced. I utilize a 10 inch subwoofer and a Yamaha Amp w 300 watts. My previous speakers were Boston Acoustics that used plug amp ...similar to other brands with a much higher price. Without reservation, Polk's sound quality is superb--especially considering the price and fact that they are made in USA. Pleased enough to say that I will be purchasing a Polk center channel very soon. My music genre is classic rock--Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin

Pros: Balanced sound w awesome mids. Warm sound that gets better every day. Excellent price.

Cons: Use a subwoofer for Led Zeppelin and Rush, etc.

RTi - A7 Speakers Deliver Amazing Sound

I don't believe any audio system is perfect, therefor I rate the RTi-A7 a four, although these speakers are near perfect for my ears and for my purposes. I have thououghly enjoyed the sound coming from these speakers. I am able to hear all parts in instrumental and vocal music without distortion and without needing to crank the sound upto deafening levels. I also appreciate how quickly I received as ordering adn how well they were packaged. The UPS driver even helped me bring them into my house (a bonus). I also appreciatd the advice I got from two different Crutchfield advisors. Advice was good and helpful to me in making a decision.

Pros: Realistic sound, undisorted sound. Attractive casings.

Cons: So far, cannot think of any negatives.

Polk Audio RTi A7's love power

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Item arrived on time and was well packaged. These speakers are heavy and were double boxed. Both speakers were in perfect shape, no blemishes or defects, good quality. I tried these with two different amplifiers, a new Yamaha 100 watt 2.1 ch and a 40 year old refurbished Pioneer Spec1/Spec2 Preamp/Amp combo 250 RMS per ch @ 8ohms. The Polk Audio RTi A7's sounded good but a little too bright for me with the Yamaha amp. Played them for several weeks with this amp. When I received my Pioneer set back ( and the repair technician did a great job putting these back to factory specs, major recapping some relays etc.) I connected the Pioneer to these speakers they came alive. The difference was amazing. Bottom line these speakers will sound great if driven with enough power otherwise they are a little underwhelming.

Pros: Love the looks of the Cherry--well made Sounds fantastic if given enough power Buy them at Crutchfield. Best pricing, fast shipping and easy 60 day returns if needed. I returned the Yamaha amp and it only took two days and I received a refund.

Cons: Lower power amps will struggle to drive these beasts

These Polks are fine....

To start, I have been spoiled. I had a high end system and had to downsize so I have been using bookshelf speakers for a while. My old system had Klipsch Forte II speakers so I can't the Polks compare to them. First. these speakers look fantastic. The wood finish is beautiful. They are heavy enough to feel like a solid speaker. I have a Onyko TX-RZ840 so I have some good power. I also have a Klipsch center, sub and rear speakers. For entry level speakers these Polks sound great. I was worried at first because I thought of Polk as discount speakers, but these are really nice. Movie sound tracks are as clear as real life and my music is back to being played at loud volumes.. Do they sound as good as my old Forte's? Of course not. Do they rock the music and soundtracks? Absolutely. And the best part as always is buying from Crutchfield. Great knowledge and Customer Service and crazy fast shipping.

Pros: Good Sound Beautiful Wood Finish

Cons: Good for entry level If you can afford a few more bucks, step up to next model

speakers sound great out of the box however thought i heard some popping in the low end. I have them paired with a 12 polk sub and I had them crossed over at 40 hertz as they are rated to go as low as 36 hertz. i adjusted my crossover to 60 herrtz and no popping.

Pros: great clear mids and highs

Cons: 7 inch sub does not perform well at high volume on the low end even when crossed over well within the frequency range.

This was an "Open Box" speaker... and It is BEAUTIFUL! If there is a flaw in this unit, I have not found it. 4 stars only because I have not listened to it long enough, but if all holds steady, then this is a 5 star purchase. The speaker has a large footprint - these A7's are 18" deep! - and replace Boston A400's which were very wide but only protruded from a wall 6" -9" which allowed them to 'disappear' against the wall. The A7's stand out both sonically and visually. They are power hungry (I must raise the volume to 50% - if that really means anything), but so far my Onkyo NR686 has not failed to produce the clean power necessary to fill my 15' x 18' Living Room.

Pros: Beautiful with clean full sound

Cons: Depth of cabinet makes them stand out... they need plenty of space.

After 20 years I dicided in my retirement to rebuild my 2 channel stereo system to enjoy in my old age. And while these are not the high end Boston Acoustic T1030 flagships that use to run back in the 90s.. They sound more than sweet enough.. I matched them up with the DENON DRA-800H reciever I ordered to power them with and I find my self reliving my good ol' audio file days from the 70 and 80s These speakers are well worth the cost.. I have no other tower to compare these speakers with in my home except for a pair of monitor 70s. These rti A7s are built very well, and they go a little deeper in bass than my monitor 70 towers do. I use them as my fronts and was a lil worried they wouldnt sound as good as my old monitor 70s but i was wrong. These speakers are above and beyond what i couldve hoped for. I have them paired with monitor 70s as rears, Polk csi A6 center and HSU research vtf2 mk5 sub. Even when the sub isnt hooked up these dual 7 inch woofers reproduce lows pretty well.

I purchased these speakers a few weeks ago, and they sounded pretty good. The mid ranges stood out so voices could be heard through movies and music. I just recently screwed in the stabilizing spikes, and as soon as these things hit hard wood, they came to life. Wow, the bass these things can offer is pretty good for the size of the actual speaker within the housing. I'm digging them.

Pros: Look pretty sexy, sound great. Nice addition to a surround system.

Cons: None yet. They do like some power though, but equal to center channel demands.

I have been pgrading my home theater setup from an outdated home theater in-a-box system. So, obviously, these speakers are a HUGE upgrade for me. These speakers are fantastic. They are well made; very durable. The sound quality when paird with the right reciever is awesome. I started out with a Sony STR-DN1080, but was not impressed with the functionality of it, and thanks to the folks at Crutchfield, I made a fantatsic choice in a Denon unit. The clarity I get from these when playing music is awesome, and the low end from the built in subs give them an overal great sound. Adding a seperate subwoofer makes watching movies through these an awesome exprieince. I highly recommeond these for a mid ranged home theater system! Good for enthuists!

I have to say that these tower speakers are the finest I've ever owned. The website pictures don't really show how spectacular they look. I was genuinely blown away by the awesome looks after unpacking . The packing of these speakers is the best I've seen in just about any product I've ever purchased. Rest assured they can easily survive some bangs on the way to your home. My previous towers were Polk Audio also, and were the black version. Wow! What a nice improvement in the colorful accents these real cherry veneered towers add to my living room. I'm leaving the grills off of mine because my cats are just too tempted to scratch on them, as they did a little bit to my previous Polk Audio towers. They look super nice without the grill and the cats are not interested with the bare speakers. After playing around for a few days getting my receiver set up properly for these towers I think I have it dialed in now. I also think they sound better after playing 7-8 Blu-ray's & 8-10 CD's than at the very first. Some folks claim a breaking in period helps for the sound. I think that is correct in my case. But the break in period was not long, only one week. And the sound is substantially better than my previous Polk Audio towers, which had three 5-1/4" speakers. These new RTi A7 towers have one 6'1/2" and two 7" speakers. I like it a lot. The lower tonal range and lower mids are improved. Everything sounds great !! Just what I was hoping for. I'm super happy wit

Pros: Fantastically packaged. Great Sound. Great looks. Beautiful design. Movie audio and CD audio both great.

Wow is all I can say. These are simply amazing. I'm currently driving then with a Pioneer vsx 516 from 2006. I did bi-amp them but I can't imagine how much better they'll be when I get a new receiver. I've read reviews that day they are too bright. I don't notice they at all. I the bass is really good and the overall sound is incredible. I originally ran these off of my HK at 30 watts per channel, they sounded decent, not great. At 200 watts I hear notes I haven't heard before. Highly recommended.

Great speakers - I'm an "old stereo guy" who took a break to get married and raise kids. The kids are out of the house and I'm diving back in. I am amazed at the speaker quality - especially for the price Crutchfield offered. Super help by Hunter (Crutchfield Consultant) in helping me decide and understand the differences in options, as the technology has really moved a lot over time. These are the front left and right for a 7.1 ATMOS-capable setup. I'm about to setup another system in another location and I see no reason to deviate from the Polks I bought for system number one.

Pros: Sound clarity

Cons: Not a con for me, but my wife isn't too hip on the size. To me, they are almost identical in size to my DCM Time Windows - so no problem at all.

Beautiful Cabinets and wonderful Sound

Robert from Orange County, CA on 6/16/2019

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

My main criteria for speaker selection was the cabinet finish and style to fit in my room and a set, Left, Right, Center and Front Heights. My room is 4500ft3 and the TV is in the corner using a Denon 4500h and Im replacing 22 year old Acoustic Research Speakers. I found 3 speakers online that looked good, the Aperion Grand III, Polk LSiM series and the Polk RTi series. I got the RTi's partly from recommendations by with Polk and Crutchfield. Polk suggested the RTi over the LSiM as the latter were more musical oriented and the RTi (Room Theater) were designed for Home theater. Crutchfield felt the RTi-A7 would be better suited for my particular room then the larger RTi-A9 (they dont sell LSiM anylonger). The price selected the RTis. Per set, the cost comparisons were Aperion $4K, LSiM, $3K and RTi $1K. I didnt feel my worn out blue collar ears would hear improvements of 3-4X . Professional reviews I found thought the RTis sounded average however the 500 reviews here and on Amazon which averaged 5 star, hard to ignore such an overwhelming rating. Finally, the decision clincher was the 60 day demo period offered by Crutchfield. How can one go wrong? So iin practice, Ive been tweeking settings with Audyssey and they sound great and a big setup up in fidelity compared to my 22 year old speakers. I have RTi-A7, CSi6 and RTi A1 (for front heights). Ive been playing Dolby demos (Amaze and others) and Im hearing things Ive never heard before.

Awesome Speakers!!! When I first open these bad boys I fell in love!! The Cherry finish is flat out amazing!!! The sound is good as well, but after a week I returned them and I'm awaiting the RTI A9's. The reason is if the A'7s are good I can only imagine the 9's! I like fullness of my movies and music so I think the 9's will get the job done I'm just greedy for power!!! Crutchfield Field is amazing, Thank you guys for helping me pick my system out

Pros: Details in highs, and lows. Good Bass response. Clarity is off the charts!!!

Cons: They need a good amount of break in time, and a strong amplifier to powethemhe

These speakers aren't as efficient as some others, so they need extra power. Give them the watts they crave and you will be rewarded with a rich, full volume of sound that is reassuringly warm & accessible. And everyone will listen happily.

Pros: Rich and warm sounding. Lots of headroom for high power use. Relatively small footprint.

Cons: Needs more watts than many speakers. Heavy.

I had owned the RTI A1s for over 5 years and always enjoyed their sound. When it came time upgrade my HT I decided to upgrade both the receiver and the main fronts. These A7s paired with a Marantz SR 5013 complement each other well . The sound is much fuller and playing music on them has elevated the definition of sound. These just sound nicer. Bargain price. For 2 Channel jazz and blues music there is plenty of definition. Wide Soundstage. As Others have noted, these can be bright with some music but honestly, they have never become tiresome. Overall well worth the upgrade. Great Speakers. Polk has been solid with the RTiA line.

Pros: Good Sound for music and movies When paired with good amp they have plenty of power Good initial quality Solid construction Good Soundstage

Cons: Can be bright Larger Size need room

I read up on several speakers in my shopping price range and after my Crutchfield tech suggested these over the Klipsch 2-ways, I decided on these. I was leaning that way anyway. Just wasn't quite sure after reading all the reviews. But I am glad I went with the rtia7's. They replaced my 38 year old Kenwood 3-way cabinet speakers with a 10" woofer . I was concerned the 7 inch woofers on the Polks would not handle the bass well, but I was pleasantly surprised. The highs are crisp and I like a 3way with the dedicated midrange speaker. I mostly listen to classical, Celtic, Accoustic, but do crank it up with some Phil Whickam. So I can't vouch for other genres. All in all, they are good speakers. And I assume will keep sounding even better after breaking them in more.

I've been using Polk speakers for over 20 yrs and have never had any problems at all. I had the monitor 60s,70s then moved up to 500rds. I got a new Denon avr x6400h and decided I needed more of a speaker. These Rtia7s went on sale, which is about what I paid for my 500s. What a difference in style power and clear sound. I'm so happy I got then then I got a pair of 9s now set. I would highly recamend these especially for this price.

Pros: Size, clear sound and great styling

Cons: A little small in size

Very happy with the Polk RTi7 speakers I recently purchased . These replaced a pair of large Sony loudspeakers and there is just no comparison. The sound quality and definition from the Polk towers is absolutely awesome. I am driving them with a 100 watt amp and my music selection has just come alive . They are tall and heavy but the sound quality is worth every ounce. I opted for the cherry veneer cabinets and they are like pieces of beautiful furniture . I purchased 'scratch and dent "speakers and aside from a minor scratch and dent on one speaker they are perfect . You've got to look to find the blemish. I'm happy because they sound great. Large speakers may not be for everyone but I find it hard to believe anyone who loves music wouldn't love these speakers. They are worth every penny . I would buy again.

Pros: Exceptional sound quality . Great bass, excellent definition and clarity. Beautiful Cherry wood veneer finish. Small foot print.

Cons: Heavy . Not easy to move around. Prone to damage when being shipped because of weight.

This is my 2nd set of Polk towers, and I am extremely impressed with the RTi A7. I am running mine with a Denon AVR-1913, bi amping the towers. I also have a CSI A6 and two pair of FXi A6's for side & rear surrounds. These towers sound amazing and are perfectly matched to the other speakers in the system. I'm going to have to upgrade my receiver soon as these towers are more than capable of playing louder than the receiver can hold up to. These speakers are part of a 2.0 stereo system, so I can't speak of them in terms of home theater. They replaced a pair of Polk TSi 400 (which I really like; they are now downstairs as the mains on my 5.1 home theater system). These A7's are an obvious step up so I only mention the TSi so you'll know what I am comparing them to. Right out of the box, they sounded great, which put a smile on my face. I'm writing this review a few weeks in, so the speakers have around 20-25 hours. Not fully broken-in, but good enough to write this. Some reviewers call them "too bright", others stated that they lack bass; that's not my experience at all. They sound great! The highs are very similar to my TSi's, accurate and exciting without being shrill or fatiguing. The lows are just impressive; this is where the RTi's far outperform my TSi's. Excellent low end; bass guitar and kick drums come in with authority but with balance. The attack and decay on the snare and bass drum is both heard and felt with your entire body. No sub necessary. The midrange is where these speakers shine. It's accurate and just great to the ear. Soundstage is quite spacious. Musical pieces with loud-quiet-loud passages sound especially nice. Throw in Alice In Chains Unplugged on vinyl and you'll know what I mean. They are paired with a Yamaha AS 301, and it has no problem driving them. I love these speakers. They would be a great value at retail price, but on sale they are an absolute bargain!

Pros: Price!; Great bass; quite handsome.

Cons: None I can think of.

Just purchased a pair from the best sales team on the planet here at Crutchfield and the A7s have changed the aural landscape from magnificent to NIRVANA. I Have 4 B&ws and 2 subwoofers and it was spectacular as it was BUT the addition of these brilliant (and beautiful) speakers just upped my game beyond expectations. Truly the missing link has been found and I am....complete. Sound is a very personal thing so I'm not going to go into the highs mids and lows from these riveting Polks but I am really pleased. Ear Violating Treble

The finish on these speakers is amazing for the price point. If you like cherry, you will not be disappointed. Sleek, and look elegant, with our without the cover. The sound is strained. If you like extra bright treble, these might be for you. But I found the tweeter too bright. Listening to a violin solo (Locatelli's concerto in D Major, 1st movement) left my ears wincing in pain--and the volume was not up that high. No trouble on my other speakers or hearing this live. Bass was weak. Midrange was amazing in its clarity. I was using a Yamaha amp pushing 80 watts per channel. I've since been told that one needs several hundred watts to push these properly, or a subwoofer for fill in. For someone these will be amazing. For those who want a less strident treble experience, try others. These are going back, but I'm pleased with Crutchfield and looking at other speakers they sell.

RTi A7s roll out the thunder!

I had 20 + year old RT10s (150W/ch) in my theater room. One channel was blown so I knew it was time to upgrade. I had tried to purchase the TSi500s on another site and after paying, they canceled the order; lack of stock (despite what web page said). I revisited the various online reviews and decided to step up another $100 to the RTiA7s. I do NOT regret the extra cash! These speakers, though not "broken in" yet sound superb! My 10" Energy subwoofer, a great unit, has a little competition! At first I bi-wired from my older Pioneer VSX 1012 {7.1 THX certified surround} receiver (100w per channel) and was initially so so with the sound. The next morning as I pondered a more modern, more powerful reveiver like one of the $699 to $999 Marantz units, I ran across the Crutchfield discussion on Bi-Amping.... that made me put down the coffee and go hook up the L & R Back speakers wiring to the terminals on the A7s. Wow, what an improvement! I went through the surround setup manually and maxed out the dB outputs from Back channels and, wallah!,I had some pretty thunderous sounds pounding out of the system. A little Porcupine Tree, TOOL and Alice In Chains "Rainer Fog" gave the system a seriously kick ass wakeup call. Holy crap, these speakers rock! This drummer's pretty happy!

Pros: Great lows, mids, highs. Perfect for the theater setup. Perfect for hard rock music.

Cons: None so far

phase one review (esthetics and craftsmanship) These towers look Gorgeous! An Impressive piece of furniture. "Two Beautiful Spanish Guitars on their stands", that's exactly how they look and feel. I bought them for Stereo High Resolution Music only and to perform while being the Focal Point in my living room, so up to this point they are Just P.E.R.F.EC.T. for me. I will be firing them, on Bi Amp mode, with 100 RMS each way along a Martin Logan sealed/down firing 300 RMS sub. In near future, I will let you know how these Beauties perform on "the stage" that is under construction right now. pd. These Beauties are Vipers not Priuses, so a twelve/twenty yrs. old 100w max. receiver nor a new 99.2 wimpy channels home theater receiver won't please them. If you want them go with Bi Amped Real RMS Stereo Power.

I bought a pair of these a couple weeks ago after seeing them on sale. I was looking to upgrade from some worn out rsii towers. I had no idea what I was missing this whole time. The rtia7s blew me away, bringing new life to frequented music and movies. Out of the box the bass was muddled but after a short break In period it cleaned up nicely. They hit low and with authority. Not shattering any windows but that's what a sub is for. The soundstage is incredible. Focused sounds come from dead center, not noticeably from the towers. All peripheral sounds seem to stretch clean across the room. Very clean and detailed sound. I'm still hearing unheard sounds from old music and movies. I've read reviews stating they are overly bright but they're fine to my ears. No fatigue here. All in all I'm 100% satisfied with this purchase. Ended up buying the csia6 center to pair with them because the towers absolutely blew me away.

Pros: Price Soundstage Detailed sound Plenty of volume and bass Looks and build quality

Cons: If I had to find something I'd say they're a bit heavy and akwardly shaped so they're difficult to move. ( I know the weight is do to quality. Don't want to pay this much for plastic or a wrap.)

Polk Continues to Impress

Polk makes fantastic speakers - I wouldn't be the first to make such a statement. However, the RTi A7's are really a fantastic product. I've been a fan of the RTi series for quite some time - having the bookshelf speakers for my front/rears for over 10 years. The 7's are my first foray into their tower line and I'm immediately impressed. The size is somewhat misleading - they are actually quite heavy and even a bit cumbersome to move. That said, once placed perfectly, you'll rarely need to move them. I think as they warm up the next few months, I'll be in for real treat. The primary use is for films and video games and so far I'm incredibly impressed with the bass output (even with a powered sub as part of my setup), and midrange. I'm actually considering adding a power amp to my new Denon receiver (105 watts per channel) just to really get more oomph out of the 7's....we'll see! Otherwise, good luck in your search - just keep in mind, you'll be hard pressed to find a better speaker to cost ratio for most modest/mid budgets.

Pros: Phenomenal construction; stellar sound.

Cons: A bit difficult to move due to their awkward-ish shape.

I took a chance on buying these without hearing them since no retailers offer a home theater room anymore to check out home audio gear. These are really good speakers, they have incredibly quick, deep, but also punchy bass. The midrange is excellent. The reason I chose these over the Klipsch is because they offer a midrange. I have tried speakers in the past with no midrange and then you really miss out on a very important dimension of sound; the crisp clear vocals, especially female voices! The only real drawback I hear is the high range sound from the tweeters, it is smooth but not as crisp and clear as my 20 year old Infinity speakers. Adjusting the equalizer settings and the tone control has helped quite a bit though. Also the soundstage doesn't seem to be very wide. The sound really trails off when you are not directly in front of them. As I mentioned before the bass is very impressive, even at low volumes the bass is clear and very balanced. Before with my old Infinity's you had to really turn the volume up to get any bass, I had to add bass with my powered sub to listen to music with those, but with these I can turn off my subwoofer when listening to music. The only time the sub is needed is when I am watching movies. Overall I am very satisfied with these and would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality sound at at a reasonable price.

Pros: Great deep, quick and responsive bass.

Cons: Not enough crisp clear high sound. Sort of a narrow soundstage.

These may be the best speaker in their price range. They replaced a pair of Klipsch that were relegated to surround speaker status. They started off pretty tight but after a break-in period of about 35-40 hours, they started to loosen up, really blossom and sound better every day. (Used in a living room with high ceilings for music and theater.)Don't expect huge bass from these 7-1/2" drivers. They're decent enough, but I have them paired with a subwoofer, so it's not a big deal. The mids and highs really shine, which is what I wanted. These tweeters aren't as harsh as the horns on the Klipsch. They're not power hungry. I get great sound while using less power. This is what prompted my decision over the RTi A9s. All in all, the fit finish and sound are worth far more than what I paid. Highly recommended.

Pros: Bang for the buck Crisp mids/highs Fit/finish

Had a second pair of speakers that always complemented the old gear but now have removed those as well and listen to only the Polks. I was worried about losing those nuances that come from the old equipment but was wrong, these shine and envelope my listening area like never before. I highly recommend these!

Pros: Great value and tremendous sound quality for the price. The wood is gorgeous and look elegant in our room.

Cons: No cons,,, I love these speakers!

Fantastic. Awesome. I love to praise and worship. and these speakers allow me to just set aside everything and focus on worshipping my Lord.

Pros: the sound is fantastic! these were given to me as a gift. and as an audio enthusiast I can't get over the sound. As far as weight I expected them to be a little heavy which is no problem. The size is perfect not too big not too small just right. my plan is to buy another set for the opposite side of my living room. so I can sit in the middle and crank the praise and worship music. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who wants quality sound.

Cons: None so far.

These look and sound awesome. Others complain that they're "power hungry," but that is not my experience. They're perfectly happy with the 100w/ch coming from my Onkyo NR646 and no external amplifier. However, they definitely do blossom at louder volumes, enough to rattle my window frames to the point of concern... (In a good way.) I manage a Quality Control dept., so I'm picky, and these are built flawless and solid. They look like a stunning, expensive piece of quality furniture. Also kudos to Crutchfield for their logistics. These were back-ordered, but Crutchfield clearly communicated that to me, and proactively kept me in the loop on the delivery status from start to finish. Very, very happy with all aspects of this purchase.

90% home theater + streaming TV. 10% music. Highly, highly, highly recommended. Scored these on clearance at Crutchfield and I could not be happier! The highs and mids are not harsh at all like Polk can sometimes be known for. The action sequences on film are clear. The bass isn't terribly overpowering and the sound itself is crystal clear. The RTi A7's are not as large or seemingly overwhelming as the A9's. They do not take much power to drive them efficiently. I am utilizing a Denon x3400H and it is essentially a match made in heaven. I could not be happier with this purchase!

I love these speakers. I upgraded from some old small satellite speakers to full towers and the sound is dramatically different. The range covered by these speakers is truly amazing. They put out a decent amount of bass that I don't even need my subwoofer while watching TV. And when listening to music I am hearing parts of the music I have not heard before. Highly recommend these speakers to anyone looking for solid speakers at a reasonable price. They also put out a lot of sound, they fill up my very large viewing space with no issues at all.

So far I like these speakers.Perhaps a little harsh on the highs, but they aren't broken in yet.I bought the scratch and dent version and they came well packaged with only a few nicks on one and missing instructions on the other. Not a big deal. The compact size fits nicely with my system and look very nice in the cherry color.I have a high powered Carver amp to drive these that I also purchased from Crutchfield in the mid 90's.Plenty of power and a very clean sound.I have a NHT powered sub that I use with the speakers as well. This helps out on the bottom end,but they also sound good without it.

Pros: Sound very good at a good price, with great looks.

Cons: A little harsh on the highs.

Very musical. Good imaging. Powered by Marantz SR5012 bi-amp. In theater 5.1 mode the volume can get thunderous with low distortion. Really improved realism on sound tracks. Set crossover to subwoofer at 60 HZ. A lower crossover allows a bigger, fuller sound. For orchestral music, these speakers sound great with no subwoofer.

These speakers are replacing two 1970 vintage KLH Model 5 speakers which at that time were the best sounding ones around. They still sound good but I felt it was time for new ones, I figured there had to be a world of improvement in speaker quality in 48 years. I did some research, read a lot of reviews & decided on these speakers which were in my price range. There are no stores in my area to listen to different speakers but I knew I could return them in case I did't like their sound. When I unpacked them I was really impressed with the quality of these speakers, especially the cherry wood. When I fired them up I was blown away, highs, midrange, & base are superb. I like a lot of bass and after increasing the response on my Yamaha amp there is no need for a subwoofer in my opinion. I'm sure there are more expensive speakers which sound better but for this price range I don't think you can do better. I highly recommend these speakers.

Pros: Great sound, impeccable workmanship.

Cons: None that I have found.

I purchased these speakers at the beginning of April after a lot of research and reading many, many reviews. I have delayed writing this review to allow for a break-in period for the speakers. I use these speakers in a stereo configuration with a Harmon Kardon {HK3700) receiver and an Onkyo CD player. I listen to several genres of music but, primarily, Theater Pipe Organ through CDs and internet radio via Vtuner installed on the receiver. Thee speakers are hands down the best quality for the price. The craftsmanship of the cabinetry is superb. The sound is crystal clear and accurate and they continue to sound better as they age. With the addition of a Polk 10" subwoofer it brings the concert hall to my living room. I highly recommend these speakers.

Pros: Impeccable sound. Quality construction. Solid build. Gorgeous finish. Extraordinary value for the price.

Cons: Absolutely none.

The speakers sound great, however I bought a scratch & dent pair, and one of them came in a box that was extremely poorly packaged and one foot had completely broken off. I didn't want the hassle of sending back, so we kept them since most people wouldn't even notice. We are missing the deep bass sounds that will only be accomplished with a powered sub-woofer, which is next on our list :)

Just outstanding sound, and nice enough looking to fit in with an expensively furnished living room. I bought these speakers to upgrade my 5.1 Polk system in my den. They are a really nice upgrade from the book shelf speakers I was running at the front prior to this purchase. At the current price they are a great deal particularly after comparing them with much more expensive speakers from other companies. They have a significant bass response and the mids and high range are both clear. I'm hearing nuances that I haven't previously heard even with my larger family room system. I was concerned with all the reviews saying these speakers need a lot of power for them to be at their best. My Onkyo TX-NR676 is powering them and the rest of my system with ease. I've had these for a week now and if they get better after a break in period then I have something to look forward to as they sound great to me right out of the box. I'm listening to them as I write this and can't imagine how bi-aiming would improve them. Maybe I'll try that down the line but clearly I don't think that's necessary.

Pros: Great Sound Beautiful to look at Small foot print Great speaker for the money

They are clear at high volumes. They don't sound strained. I tried them with all kinds of music and movies. All seems to sound really good. I'm glad I bought them. Paired them with the csi A6.

Pros: Look amazing, sound clear, pick up details

Yes, the cherry is beautiful. These are the best speak's for my money. The imaging and separation of channels is outstanding. The sound detail is impressive. The mids are solid, with respectable bass. I'm running these from a NAD amp at 150wpc. It is a great fit, technically speaking. I have to turn the volume up to 90% and the unit overheats; plus, Tech Support is only offered in English. It's too bad that my $150.00 mini stereo sounds better than a combination of Onkyo and Polk.

This review is based upon my initial listening impressions with these speakers being new, out of the box and without the usual break-in process. I was impressed. They exhibited good overall response and it was obvious that with a judicial amount of break-in time they will preform very well or better than speakers within this price range or higher. The fit and finish is very good. I somewhat disagree that a high power (100-200 wpc) amplifier is required to obtain a good sound with these speakers. While there is nothing wrong with "big power" a good quality amp rated honestly will do the job quite well. I paired these speakers with an Adcom GFA 535II amp rated at 60wpc @ 8 ohms. These are real watts not the hyped-up numbers used by some manufacturers to lure in an unsuspecting consumer. The amp was paired with an OSD PRE-1 preamp, a budget, low output unit that is fairly well constructed for the price. Using the Polks along with the aforementioned amp/preamp combination filled a 15 X 20 foot basement listening room to satisfying levels. Are these speakers on par with my Martin Logan Quest Z's paired with 2 Aragon 8008 BB's and CJ Premier17LS? NO. But in the bang for your buck category coupled with the great Crutchfield service team you will be enjoying the RTi-7A's for years to come.

I am totally satisfied with quality and price.. I upgraded from a pair of Epos M5 which blew out after 14 years of service. I was highly satisfied with the Epos, and I *think* that the Polk sound noticeably better. The speakers sound great to me, including a level of bass that I never had before (pedal tones on J.S. Bach organ works), and detail in the mid and high frequencies that I don't remember hearing before, and which I attribute to the good sensitivity. I bought them after a cross-country move, so I'm hearing them in a different room many weeks after the last audition of my Epos, so I can't make a careful comparison. I am driving the speakers with a Music Hall a15.3, which I have never turned up to full volume. I have no interest in home theater or seismic bass, but I listen to organ recordings at a volume simulating the experience in a huge church. My experience contradicts the claim that a powerful amplifier is required. The cherry cabinet is a bit darker than the photos suggest, but most such wood lightens with age. They are lovely, and completely soothed my wife's concerns about beauty, though she still objects to the large size. The weight and stability would be a problem if they had to be moved a lot, but I count them as a plus since my granddaughter is unlikely to knock them over when she starts walking and wreaking havoc. It has not occurred to the cat to scratch the grilles.

Pros: sound, price, beauty of cabinet, stability

Cons: clumsy to move around

The next best thing to being there. Using an old ONKYO at only 75W per channel, the RTi7's produced a beautiful, spacious sound stage, without artificially heavy bass, but with a solid bottom for orchestral music (Sibelius Symph. 5 was deep and thrilling). A tad bright for some bluegrass, but Tony Rice's guitar was gorgeous - heard detail lost to the muddy middle of my old speakers. Chamber, esp string quartets, is astonishing in the clear definition of each voice; like others, I suspect these speakers will improve and mellow with age - a bit bright for now, esp treble strings. Stones - great, Bill Evans Trio - even better. But I think these speakers - a bargain - are best with the human voice. An especially wonderful and rich sound presented Ella, Kurt Elling, Kathleen Battle, Donovan, Pete Seeger, Joni, and Lennon with warmth and intimacy. So much music, so little time; but I know it can't sound better. Other than live (maybe).

I have 2 sets of these awesome sounding towers in my 12 X 22 living room for stereo or home theater listening. The first set came in February 2018 which were connected to my Integra DTR 7.1 av amp and they sounded ok but lacked bass response. Incorporated my NAD 1130 preamp and an Adcom GFA 555 MK II 200 WPC power amplifier from back in the day and WOW!!! the RTI A-7 s sound superb. There is no shortage of bass from the two 7 in woofers, they reproduce tight accurate to deep house shaking bass . The tweeter and midrange on these speakers do the A7s a great justice in vocal and instrument reproduction. At first the speakers appear to be a little bright but after a 45 hour break-in period they sound great. I enjoy listen to a wide variety of music and am all out impressed with the RTI A7 speakers so much I bought a second pair at the end of March. The new speakers are for rear surround for my 5.1 set up or stereo . This set is fed by a NAD 1130 preamp and a n Adcom GFA 5500 200wpc power amp, they sound spectacular. FYI - having power amps doesn't mean you have to crank it all the time, your music will sound excellent at all volume levels including very low. Thank you to the knowledgeable and friendly Crutchfield sales and customer service support staff that helped me with my purchases.

Pros: An awesome looking high quality speaker by Polk audio at a great price

It was time to upgrade to a pair of floor standing speakers and I purchased these after evaluating them vs. a pair of Klipsch R-24F. Turned out to be a good choice for my almost-70 year old ears. I selected the scratch and dent option and saved a bundle. Yes, there were a couple nicks in the enclosures, but that does not affect their performance in any way. There was, however, a broken foot on one of the speakers, probably caused by UPS's rough handling. I called Crutchfield, supplied a picture, and was quickly sent a replacement after speaking with Tylaher. I use these speakers strictly in a stereo configuration for music as well as TV and Blu-Ray sound. They are matched perfectly with a Yamaha A-S301 integrated amp that I purchased from Crutchfield (thanks Brit!) along with an Onkyo C-7030 CD player, an Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB turntable and a 230W Onkyo sub. I listen to several different genres of music and only need to use the sub when I want some booming bass from classic rock. Most others sound great with the bass that these speakers produce. I highly recommend these speakers!

Pros: 1. Great performance at the price point. The cherry cabinets look old-school and way better than the black IMO. 2. Great sales & support staff at Crutchfield. I've started steering others away from the big box stores.

Cons: UPS handling of the boxes. They were large & heavy of course and I noticed that UPS did not use a cart bringing them to my door.

The best out of several compared in person!

First let me start by saying, these are my first set of Polk audio speakers. Now, for the fun part! I've spent thousands of dollars on speakers for in home comparison. I've compared these to def tech bp series, paradigm studio 100v2, HTD level 3, SVS Prime, Cerwin Vega, Energy, Klipsch, and Onkyo THX speakers. None, and i mean none of the speakers compare to these polks! These are a force to be reckoned with. The closest sounding speakers were the HTD level 3 and they were 850 a pair vs 600 for these polks. The polks had the best sound of all I've listed to. Not only to me, but to other people as well, including my fiancé. I'm running these single wire on an Onkyo thx receiver at 130wpc into 8 ohms. They're loud, crystal clean, and really freaking accurate! I can't see anyone needing any other speakers unless you're a high end brand snob. Take it from me, these are the best you can buy under 2k and I've spent hours listening through them all. (Pure direct mode) so there was no EQ, just music how it's meant to be heard. Shout out to Quinn! My sales rep. Very helpful! Also, Crutchfield, this is how a company is meant to be ran! Customer for life!

Pros: Everything! These speakers are amazing! The sale price is astounding and they cannot. Be beaten. Not unless you spend 2k or more on towers. And unless you have an expensive amp to push the high end towers you'll not notice anything to brag about. The sound is impeccable! The finish is gorgeous! They're built solid!

Cons: None! Absolutely nothing to complain about on these!

Great sounding speakers and Cherry finish is beautiful. Sound is very clear with great bass (Both highs and lows are great for music). I am using these speakers for Music only (Turntable, and music streaming from MacBook Pro). Connected to Yamaha Stereo Receiver Model R-N303. Crutchfield advised a great product for my music listening. Both boxes were not handled well by UPS and severely damaged during shipment (Arrived with holes and cracks all over both boxes). Good thing the speakers were not damaged inside the box.

Pros: Great Clear sound!

Cons: None

Pretty oustanding for 300 dollars I think at this price they would be hard to beat . Nice sound and beautiful finish.Alot nicer than the a5s I tried first free shiping and excellent service from Crutchfield .

Pros: The price and finish and they have nice smooth sound with decent bass.

Cons: Im shure there are better speakers out there but for how much more I doubt it would be worth the difference in price .

If you are reading this then you have most likely read the rest of the reviews. Any product that gets such consistently high marks means that it delivers. These speakers certainly do that. I'm into vintage audio and was still listening to some first generation Advents. Although I'm still using my late 70's era receivers (Pioneer SX-1280 and Sansui 9090DB both recently refurbished and upgraded) I had to move my sound room and the Advents we a little too big. So, I decided to move into the 21st century, speaker wise. I suspect that most speakers in this price range sound pretty much alike. But, I own a pair of vintage Polk Monitor 5jr's and those little guys are amazing. What actually sold me on the RTi A7 verses its competition was the look. The cherry veneer is furniture grade and the curved back enclosure, besides helping with some sonic gremlins (supposedly), bespeak of quality. Also, in my case, that little extra space on the back side created by that curve really helped me relative to placement. When Crutchfield put them on sale, the choice was made. I am extremely satisfied with these speakers.

Pros: Great sound from lows to highs Beautiful enclosures

Cons: None

Upgraded to these from Polk Monitor 70's. These are beautiful speakers. Glad I went with the cherry over the black. The sound quality is excellent. The highs and mids are great. I'm surprised how much bass they put out. Sound great in 2.0 stereo and home theater application.

Exquisite sonic reproductive quality. Tight punchy bass, subtle controlled yet well blended mids, and spot on highs. The sound these towers produce have blown me away. Was torn between these and the Klipcsh RF-62 towers, I'm glad I chose the Polks. To me they look much better as I'm not a fan of the copper colored cones on the Klipcsh. And these have a smoother sound. Great line and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great sounding setup musically and movie wise.

Pros: Look stunning Sound incredible Great build quality

Cons: At these price how could you complain about anything these have to offer. Just give them a try and you'll be glad you did

Absolutely beautiful speakers. Just bought the cherry and pictures do not do these speakers justice. With that being said I have say I did a side by side comparison sound test with my older Polk rti8 Towers which consist of two 6 and a half drivers and one ince tweeter and the sound was pretty much identical with the exception of more powerful bass on the rti a7 speaker. Not saying that it's a bad thing because I'd still rather have the newer model and with the looks and price they can't be beat. I am just blown away at the construction of these speakers. They are like a high end piece of furniture. I want to point out that people who claim to be so called audiophiles and experts saying that these speakers need at least 200 watts to open up and won't sound so great with say a 100 watt amp are wrong. I'm using a denon 125 watt per channel receiver and it powers these big boys up loud and smooth with no harsh sound or distortion. If I were to put it any louder I'd be blowing my windows out not to mention my ear drums. This comes from a musician going on 40 years standing in front of many mega loud amps. It is not so much the wattage your amp says it has as it is how much usable clean power you have. A quality amp will give you quality sound. The other thing I'd like to point out is the bi-wiring and bi-amping myths. Bi-wiring will do absolutely nothing. Bi-amping will do nothing unless you use separate amps. Using your receivers oth

Pros: All.

Cons: Other than the boxes they came in looking like they were thrown down 3 flights of stairs, surprisingly they weren't damaged.

I would start by saying great speaker, great sound and great price. I got these speakers on a massive sale they are having at Crutchfield. I started with a set of Wharfedale Diamond 240s, and I was not happy with the overall sound. I replaced those with a set of these Polk A7s, and it was an immediate improvement in sound. I have these setup to a home theater and use these for about 70% music / 30% tv/movie use. I listen to classic rock, rock, jazz, pop and I can tell you these speakers sound amazing. I have a Pioneer receiver, and used the MCACC setup. I actually have these set as "small" speakers to allow my subwoofer to handle the low stuff. In switching between large and small, the difference was not extremely noticeable...very slight. So I am ok with them as small. I also used my receiver to bi-amp these by using the rear zone speakers (I think for Atmos) that I do not own. I felt the clarity and overall response did increase significantly with bi-amping them. If you have the option to do that, I would recommend this. I would highly recommend these for the above average music and movie fan, these a great addition to anchor your front sound without breaking the bank. I would also add, don't settle for speakers you aren't fully happy with, you can achieve the sound you are looking for with almost any budget. These Polk RTi's don't disappoint, it sounds like Eric Clapton is playing in my family room - crystal clear, I can hear the guitar strings picking.

Pros: -Rich, full sound thru the whole spectrum (treble, mids and bass) -Impeccable clarity -Bi-wire/amp capable -Price / overall value

Cons: -Really none, perhaps a touch bright, but nothing close to causing any listening fatigue

I bi-amped my Polk speakers to a Yamaha A770 receiver with the intention of using as a stereo music system initially with future surround sound hook-up. The sound was clear with well integrated bass. Midrange was crisp and the tweeter sound was both clear and crisp on sharp rock guitar rifts as well as surprisingly warm on classical music choices. Even my skeptical wife was very pleased with the sound delivered. I am looking forward to even better response as speakers are burned in over time. Comment: speakers do draw quite a bit of power so they should be coupled with at least a 200 watt receiver/amp. Note: if connected to Yamaha receiver without center channel speaker, receiver will need to be set on stereo to pick up voice when passing tv output through speakers

These speakers sound, and look great. Were shipped in a timely manner, even got an email the moment they were delivered letting me know the time they were at my house and the location they left them. And although one box had damage to it, the speakers were completely fine due to very protective packing inside.

Pros: -Full Bass -Good Dynamic Range -Ability to be Bi-Amplified -Aesthetically Pleasing

Cons: -None (Please look at weight before you buy. Speakers are heavy, as to be expected when buying floor-standing speakers)

I'm new to owning high end speakers...I went with these for the reputation and past experience with Polk speakers in my truck. They came highly recommended and I couldnt be more satisfied. Set up was a breeze and as I build my home theater and get more indepth with settings I might adjust some levels through the AVR......The sound is incredible - and that's without a sub. They carry the full range of sound for TV/Movies and music.

Pros: Sound, the sound and the sound!!! Full range of high to low is great. I love the look and have the space for tower speakers.

Cons: None

First let me start by saying that the support that I received over the phone was excellent. The staff at Crutchfield are knowledgeable, professional and courteous. The speakers arrived on time but the boxes were heavily damaged. Needless to say I was very concerned. After taking photos and signing that I received them (with notations concerning the damage), I immediately called Customer service and advised them of the situation. They told me to open them and inspect for damage with full assurance that if there was any damages it would be made right. To my surprise there was no damages at all. That says a lot about how well they are packed. Lastly let me say that these speakers are beautiful pieces of furniture, heavy and well made. Equally the sound quality and engineering are excellent . I am well pleased with this product and would highly recommend it.

Pros: Outstanding value for the price. Craftmenship is excellent as well as the performance.

Cons: Not really a con for me but they are big and heavy so you need to keep that in mind.
