Polk Audio TSi300
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Definite value and good entry level speakers.
Music lovers and movie buffs alike will enjoy the smooth, clean sound of the Polk TSi300. Its silk tweeter delivers sparkling highs, while two polycarbonate woofers churn out accurate mids and lows. The braced MDF cabinet fights resonance so the details in your music and movies shine through. Dual five-way binding posts let you bi-amp or bi-wire the TSi300 for even better performance — a rare feature for a speaker in this price range.
A woodgrain vinyl finish gives the TSi300 a refined looked, capped by an elegant piano black top plate. At the base of the speaker you'll find sturdy stabilizer feet to keep it anchored to your floor, regardless of whether it's carpeted or non-carpeted. And since the speaker's footprint takes up less than one square foot, you can enjoy authoritative tower speaker sound without sacrificing a lot of space.
The speakers look great and sound great in our 20' x 20' family room. Easy to set up and excellent value.

Average Customer Review(s):
Definite value and good entry level speakers.
The speakers look great and sound great in our 20' x 20' family room. Easy to set up and excellent value.
Pros: Small footprint so speakers do not overwhelm the room decor. Matched well with our Polk powered subwoofer.
First things first. How do these speakers sound you ask? For the price you can't beat the sound, think "Honey" because the mids and lows are warm and sweet. The silk dome tweeter adds a breath of fresh air to the design without being thin or tinny, let's just say it does what it's supposed to do and does it well for a speaker in this price range. Secondly how do they look in person? The cabinet is beautiful and if not inspected closely will pass for real wood, the piano gloss black top plate adds a nice look and the bottoms ported design allows the bass to flow freely without chuffing. I like it a lot.
Pros: Sounds sweet. Looks expensive. Speaker material. Cabinet design. Excellent as HT front speakers.
Cons: If not for the assistance of the bass reflex bottom port the bass would be ho hum..but use with a subwoofer as I am doing and Tah dah!! Problem solved.
great clean and crisp sound. Could use a little more low end but overall a great piece of equipment for a budget minded person.
Very clean sound.
Sound great. Look good.
I have an older version of these speakers and I needed a new pair for a different location. The old ones still sound great so I went with these. Great price and the Crutchfield service is second to none. These guys really "get it".
Pros: Good speaker - best in class
Nice speakers, great sound, beautiful cabinets. Easy setup. Great service as usual
Nice size, good looking, fine sound. Excellent price.
For the price these Polk Audio floor speakers are fantastic. and the sound quality is superb. I am a music teacher and the sound quality is top notch for my needs.
Pros: Great sound quality
Cons: A bit bulky
Amazing sound and sleek design.
Pros: Lightweight, sleek design, great sound.
Connecting this speaker is a big problem. You did not provide any useful instructions. Next time i will go to a local store.
I bought these speaker to replace my Bose Acoustimas system that was 20 years old. First of all shipping was fast to Hawaii.. Thank you Crutchfield. These speakers are huge and beautiful. They can be considered as part of the living room décor. Wife likes that looks and noted the sound range and clarity of the speakers. Highly recommended.
They sound amazing !!!!!
Terrific....Purchased these TSi 300 to replace my Polk RM87 Series and added the matching CS1 A4 center channel. (apologies to Crutchfield. Purchased the center channel through another vendor with a birthday gift card). my home theater went from what I thought sounded great to a whole new level combined with a Sony STR-DN1080 Amplifier. From the lows to the highs I am now experiencing audio in a whole new world. Add to that, these speakers/towers are gorgeous in the Cherry Wood. For the budget minded these are absolutely wonderful speakers. I have always been a Polk fan including Polks in my Toyota Sequoia. That said, great speakers and as always bar setting customer service and support from Crutchfield. Never worry about online purchases from Crutchfield. They are always there for their customers with superior service......
These speakers are a good upgrade for anyone with a relatively limited budget but who wants a notable improvement over an old or dated system. Polk has a stellar reputation among audiophiles, and the only drawback to these entry-level Polks is that buyers might regret not having gone a little higher up the product range.
very good speakers. would recommend them to others
These speakers sound great for the price. The product is very good,
superb sound! excellent prices/value! and they look great - trim and elegant. very pleased with the service provided by Crutchfield.
Pros: appropriate size, elegant design, clear sound with plenty of volume to fill the spacious room. the sound remains clear even as the volume is turned up. all that at a very good price.
These speakers sound great for the price. They do get loud but I was hoping louder. I might be underpowering them with my Denon x2300w. Haven't tried bi-amping yet cause I'm using all my channels. Overall I'm pleased with my purchase.
Awesome sound. Great speakers.
Great speakers I love Polk Audio and Crutchfield.
These floor standing units are wonderful. The sound reproduction is super. I am extremely happy with this choice and was able to get them at a great price from Crutchfield.
I use these speakers with Onkyo TX-8020 amp and I really like the sound. The bass could be a bit stronger but I believe TSi400 might provide better bass.
They seem to sound good. Still in the process of trying different genres of music. They definitely sound better than my 27 year old Pioneers. Still not totally convinced on these yet. Maybe I should upgrade to the TSI 400's. or maybe a new receiver, currently using a 2005 Onkyo TX8011 2 channel receiver. I still have a few weeks to decide. They do sound crisper, you actually here more of the instruments which i love. To be continued.....
Pros: sounds crisper and more defined then 27 year old pioneers. still up in the air on them
Cons: none that i can think. if your wanting more bass, maybe try the 400's. these were more in my price range.
great sounding speaker for the price. For the size of the speaker not bad bass.
Pros: quality sound,good value
I am a child of the 70's and the days when if you wanted big sound, you needed big speakers. I am amazed at the range of speakers that are this compact yet yield a full range of sound. One term I'd just to describe these Polk Audion TSi300's is crisp. They have nice high end and mid range and really shine when replicating intricate drums and percussion. As an ardent jazz fan, I'm particularly please that these towers do justice to the amazing variety of sound found within the Jazz genre. I also listen to a lot of Ambient and IDM and these tpes of music can have wildly varying array of range -all of which these speakers produce perfectly. You should hear someone play a 12 string guitar through these....amazing! I chose to add a subwoofer (Polk PSW108) - not because these towers lack bottom end - but because I wanted extra bass.
Pros: Great Mids Crisp Highs Compact Size Good looking Easy to handle Work great in small to mid size rooms
I have been a Polk Audio fan for many years always quality for the money. These are just right for my bedroom.
Pros: Sound is very good. Just right for my bedroom.
Cons: none really
Love the sound and the range using Onkyo TX-SR608.
Pros: Good value
Nice speakers. Sound great and compliment my Yamaha 663 very well.
Pros: Natural sound
Pretty awesome speaker in our living room sounds great and looks great
I needed speakers for my man-attic. I initially looked at bookshelf speakers because my space was so small and the walls were sloped due to the pitch of the roof. I ended up investigatint small towers as they presented a better bass and didn't need stands...which was a plus due to my cat infestation. I ended up ordering the Polks because of their size and reputation. The Polks were not my first choice. I had settled on a set of Fluance Towers but at 45 inches, they were too tall. The Polks were my second choice and at 36 inches fit well with my limited space. I got a great deal off Crutchfields and they were delivered in two days as promised. I use them primarily for music but will listen to movies through them as well. Currently set up as a 2.0 system run through an Onkyo A9010 One of the speakers was a 'scratch and dent' but you can't tell there is anything wrong with them at all. The cherry finish is a veneer but they look great. The sound is good and reflects the quality of the recording. Some of my content sounds outstanding and some sounds just ok. The speakers really seem to shine with jazz though they sound good with all material. I initially had them about 30 inches apart but moved them to about 5ft apart after I got things arranged and the separation really opened them up. I've got them toe'd in but I'm not sure that's necessary but I'm still dialing them in so I'm not done. At the price, these represent an outstanding choice for music or as part of a AV
Pros: Great value and size. Nice veneer, good looking speakers. Good open sound and pumps a big volume. Works well with music or home theater.
Cons: Not for huge spaces. Probably best for medium to small spaces.
Man, these sound great! Can't beat them for the money! Glad I bought them.
Pros: Amazing sound and style
Cons: Wish it was wireless
Great Price for Great Speakers. I've very happy with this product.
Exactly what I was looking for. Attractive, compact for floor model speakers, crisp clean sound
Great speakers that looks very nice.
These speakers are awesome. They look really nice too and don't take up a lot of room!
Sound great! More balanced than I thought they would sound.
I use for classical, folk, and jazz. Great presence. Smooth response. Forgiving placement. Just what I wanted. Got another pair for the dining room.
Great sounding speakers at the right cost!
Pros: Sound Cost
Cons: None yet
I replaced an old pair of Infinity 3-way speakers. I didn't need anything too fancy. I use them for the occasional CD and movies. I wasn't disappointed. They are a good match for my "plain" stereo.
Pros: just enough bass and oomph for my use.
Cons: I wish they were a little shorter. I'm worried they could tip over too easy.
Top Quality at a great price. Polk Audio speakers are worth the money but I was able to purchase these on sale when Crutchfield had a 60.00 off each speaker sale that made them not only affordable but free shipping. They arrived timely and unscathed. I really like the black plastic top of the speaker protecting them from scratches and a nice addition to the look.
I bought 2 of the tsi300 as front speakers and the tsi200 as rear speakers for a small game room. I also purchased the cs10 center speaker. They are hooked up to an older Onkyo 5.1 receiver. This system sounds great! I mainly use it for Ps4 and watching movies. I will eventually get a sub, but for now the bass is sufficient for me. The room rocks! The folks at Crutchfield are the Best, they are my Go-To Place for Electronics!! Delivery was fast! Thank you, Crutchfield!! Highly recommend!!
Pros: Great highs and lows, Ps4 games and movies sound awesome!
Cons: That I didn't buy them sooner, lol. Seriously. no cons!
Great sounding towers, not to big, and the piano black tops look outstanding. As for performance they are about middle of the road I would say, they definitely need a powered subwoofer as back up for thunderous bass demands as in movie soundtracks. But as for music (at least my style) they perform admirably and have a very dynamic range frequency . All around great speaker given its foot print. Would highly recommend to any one.
Pros: piano black tops , looks great in smaller rooms , very clean sound.
Cons: None as of this review.
Very satisfied with the sound and look.
I absolutely love the sound of these speakers .Beautiful cabinet design. Towers really stand out in the room. I recommend these to anyone looking for great sound a great look and not too hard on the wallet.
Very good sounding towers...I always use a 10 band eq with a smile curve \_/ , so these handle the xtra push & sound nice.
An excellent product for the $$$$. Sound is perfect. My records seem to explode out of the speakers, which are very compact & fit great in smaller areas.
Pros: Size Sound Looks Price Crutchfield!
Cons: Getting rid of the large shipping boxes!!!
Great sounding speakers. Nice addition to my Polk Surround Sound system. They would have earned five stars but one speaker was missing a part. I contacted Polk and they sent me a replacement part that I received in about a week.
Pros: Great Look and Sound. They're an excellent match for my home theater system.
I was pleasantly surprised by these speakers. They are clear and have a full range. Due to the size of the woofers I didn't expect much but the bass is impressive. Also, customer support was very responsive in correcting an issue I had with one speaker which was more than likely shipping damage.
Great product excellent price
I have purchased several pieces of audio equipment from Crutchfield, so they were the my first choice when our old speakers gave out. We are very happy with the Polk Audio TSi300 floor speakers. I share many of the reviewers surprise at the rich bass response and delightful clairity from such a small speaker at a budget price. Big does not always mean better! The small footprint is perfect and the cherry finish is a complement to our room. Thanks Crutchfield for offering a great product with superior service!
Pros: Inexpensive, good looking, small footprint, easy set up, great sound for the money.
Excellent and clear sound. Great quality for its price. They look amazing. The fast delivery and the great customer service from the seller was a plus.
Pros: Great sound
Se ven muy bonitas, de muy buena calidad y me encanta el sonido claro y fuerte. They look very beautiful, very high quality and the sound is very clear and strong.
Pros: Sonido claro sin distorsión. Clear sound with no distortion.
Cons: Ninguno NothingCrutchfield response on 12/13/2016 Translation provided by Crutchfield's International Sales & Support team.
I bought these on the black Friday sale to replace my tired Cambridge Model Six speakers. I upgraded to a pioneer elite home receiver and needed a nice set of front speakers to go with it. I didn't have a huge budget with Christmas coming so I needed to keep it around 300. I got the polk tsi 300 in cherry finish and they look great. They sound amazing compaired to the old model six. But they do lack bass, I know they need some time to break in but without the sub they just don't sound the same. I also bi-amped them but honestly I didn't notice a difference and decided to run them normal. I have to say I am more than pleased with how they sound and look for only 300 for the pair you can't go wrong. And kudos to crutchfield they came in a day early and have had no issues so hats off to them I will be buying everything from here, you've got a customer for life
Pros: nice finish, great looking, good sound, great price
Cons: you will need a subwoofer to compliment the speakers they do lack the bass
These speakers have a really good sound. The bass is well defined for not having any massive speakers. The height is just about the right height, while the narrow width makes them easy to place. The speedy delivery was also well appreciated.
Pros: Great Sound
Cherry cabinets set off rich and vibrant tones, paired with a Yamaha 100 watt receiver, also from Crutchfield. Purchased one speaker at full price, the other damaged (box only) $50 cheaper. Inexpensive way to replace my ancient SAE system.
Hooked them right up, no issues, used the plates that came with them to connect all 4 terminals together because both speakers will be receiving the same channels. Good mid range bass and clarity in the lows as well, really shakes the house if you turn them up!
Pros: Easy, simple to use, good sound
Cons: Haven't found any yet
Great looking cabinet. Produces awesome base for this price.
After many years of service my former speakers, from a UK maker, had begun to sound very "muddy." Was looking for a reasonably priced replacement for a small "music room" and these Polk's turned out to be perfect. Am hearing highs and mid-range that were totally lost before and - for my application - the low end response is just fine, not booming, but present and very acceptable without a sub. Great value for money, so I am very pleased.
Pros: Crisp highs and mid-range, perfect for a small to average size listening environment
Cons: None so far
Awesome sounding speakers for the price! Almost purchase a Sub, but after listing to them, there's no need because there is plenty of bass. I would definitely recommend.
Pros: Great sound
I was looking for a speaker with a high sensitivity level. It came across these two. Very happy that I did best speakers for the money sound great.
First of all The delivery was really fast! When I hooked them up I couldn't believe the sound that was coming out of these beautiful cherry wood speakers! Polk Audio has got it going on! ,best in the business
Pros: simple to hook up, really great quality, great price
Great sounding speakers; excellent price. Very quick set-up (I love the screw-type terminals). Good range, as well. Lows, mids, and highs sound great.
If these were bigger they would almost surely be 5-star speakers. I've been an audiophile for So many years. I've spent Thousands. I've learned to find High quality in smaller packages and for less money. I spent tons to learn how to do this. I've read all these other reviews, that these speakers are great But need to be "augmented" by some subwoofer or whatever. I know these "audiophiles." Everything has to be "augmented" somehow. Then it's Great! Pu-Leeez! For your money these speakers are simply fantastic. I already had a Polk CS10 center channel. It is voice-matched to the TSi series. I am architecturally limited to doing what I can with 3-channel home theater sound. Frankly, I't's all I really want. The TSi 300's offer full-boddied, rumbling bass (surprisingly deep) and very satisfying mids with crystal, crisp highs. Everything is there. Beautifully. I understand that some people just have to have their houses rocked off the foundations. The TSi 300's. matched withe the CS10 center channel and a Yamaha 75-watt AV receiver give me Awesome cd listening pleasure and home theater sound with deep, rumbling bass (how do they get that out of a package this size?!) and Crisp detail in all other parts of the range! I do stress that the 3-channel application with the CS10's and an AV receiver that is capable of being told what speaker configuration it is being used for is a very big part of My home theater situation. For me, it's an amazingly perfect blend. Amazing quality.
Pros: Ported design offers satisfyingly deep bass. Crystal highs and everything in between. Awesome sound with a minimal footprint. The cherry finish is very nice, too.
Cons: None for me.
The sound is gorgeous from these speakers. Considered sizing up, but ended up getting these for my home theatre. Has all the sound I need.
Pros: Inexpensive Great sound Look good
Cons: Doesn't have the appeal of some higher dollar speakers
Set up yesterday, it's run through a Pioneer receiver, and the sound is remarkable! It's simultaneously full and nuanced; it's well modulated and comes through smoothly. I'm not a musician nor an audiophile, but to my untrained ear it sounds good enough to make listening to music a primary activity, vs. something on while I work.
Pros: Fantastic sound and amazing price.
Easy to set up. Good Sound for the money. This set was in the middle for pricing, but they have a good, strong base sound.
Pros: Good Sound for the money.
My 11 year old pair of Cambridge Soundworks T100 tower speakers blew out last spring, so after doing online research and seeing Crutchfield's great 60 day trial policy, I pulled the trigger on a ordering pair of the Polk TSi300s. They came in two days, probably less than 30 hours of my ordering them actually. They were easy to unpack and surprising light in the boxes. I hooked them up to my early 90s setup of a Denon DRA 345 receiver run through a home audio BBE Sonic Maximizer. My two main sources of music output are a bit newer school; playing music from my smart phone via a blue tooth connection to the receiver and second source of music is off my Samsung TV. I played the Talking Heads concert video "Stop Making Sense" and sounded it simply wonderful in nearly every audio setting on my Samsung smart tv. Playing music from Spotify on my phone such as Radiohead, Wilco, Miles Davis and Fela Kuti sounded equally sweet and satisfying. The highs and mids are crisp and clear and project beautifully without my needing to crank the volume which is important as I live in an apartment with neighbors on all sides. Though I have read many reviews that recommend subwoofer reinforcement, for my tastes, set up (namely the addition of the BBE unit) 300 sq ft hardwood floor living room, the bass is perfect, tight but without overpowering the clarity of the mids and highs. This has been one of the best purchasing decisions I've made in a long time and I'd highly recommend these.
Pros: - Sound Great, in small footprint - Perfect sound for small apartment
Finally convinced my mom(94) to purchase some better speakers and receiver. I found these speakers on sale at a great price and then saw an 'opened box' discount available at check out. Saved me(my mom) another $50. They showed up in 4 days. They are beautiful speakers with piano finish on the top which my mom loved. They sound sooo much better then the tiny Realistic one's she has used for at least 20 years. Connected to her new Yamaha R-S201 receiver the sound is very rich with sharp highs and decent bass. Overall, great shopping experience at Crutchfield.
Pros: Floor standing style is awesome, nice clean sound, beautiful finish
I bought a pair of these because I just got a 7.2 channel amp, and needed 2 front speakers to compliment the Polk Audio RM 7500 system I already had. My existing satellite speakers have a 1" silk dome tweeter, and a 5-1/4" midrange, with the center channel having 2 midranges. In talking with the customer service guy here, and talking with a Polk Audio tech, they both said that though these would not be a perfect voice match, it was REALY close, and should compliment the rest of my system nicely. In trying them out with my new Pioneer VSX-80 receiver, I think they work great. The front channels do most of the work, and frankly, I think these work better for the front speakers than the satellites, especially for music. Yes, with the small midranges, there's not a ton of bass, but the extension is lower, and that'a what i have the (PSW650 - 2 powered 10" drivers) subwoofer for. And so, with that setup, it works great. As part of a home theater system, I didn't want overpowering front channels compared to the satellites, and for this they work perfectly. In fact, I like this setup better because the font stage has more presence. For music, they're certainly better, though I'll probably buy a dedicated set of full-range speakers as my "B" set to switch to if I'm just listening to music. And for that, I'll be looking at much bigger, more powerful speakers. In a nutshell, I really like these speakers. They have the usual great Polk sound, and at a great price point.
Pros: Great speakers for the price! I especially like the shiny plastic tops, they match almost perfectly with the RM 7500 speakers I have.
Cons: They weren't free??? Other than that, nothing I can say.
I recently purchased 2 polk audio speakers for my house and I couldn't be happier. The speakers sound amazing but what really got me is the customer service from Crutchfield, they went way above and beyond any expectationsuggestions I have from any company. I will use this company for all my electronic needs.
Pros: Outstanding customer service
Great sounding front speakers in a 7.1 setup. They are paired with PolkAudio BlackStone 250 speakers.
These are matched with a pair of Polk R40 speakers - the sound of the TSi300 Speakers is spacious, has depth, and for me represent great value for the money. I am an audiophile who started in the sixties and, have owned JBL's, Klipsch bookshelfs, KLH, and Advent Speakers ! Love the sound quality !
Pros: Quality build, spacious sound with great depth. Reasonably priced.
Excellent Sound for the price
Pros: Sound Price
I am very satisfied with my choice and the sound advice Crutchfield people gave me in making this choice. The 300s sound very good in my 11X11 studio with hardwood floors. No subwoofer required since I listen mostly to jazz and classical music. They are an especially attractive choice now since they have been discontinued and discounted.
Pros: Quality sound at an excellent price, well suited to my music and my space. I don't need to but for fun I plan to bi-amp them.
I sold Hi Fi...OK, mid fi, back in the day when Polk was just making their mark. I loved Polk speakers, they were the Toyota of Hi Fi back then, they just went about making musical speakers and allowed beer budget, budding audiophiles a taste of the good stuff. They sounded great on all kinds of music, and they were affordable. Nothing has changed. I love this speaker, it is in a word, sweet. I threw jazz, classical, Metallica, you name it at this speaker, and it took it all in stride. They look good, take up little space, and with the port at the bottom, they aren't as picky about placement as some other ported speakers. They aren't perfect though. I ran them in a typical living room setup with and without a Polk sub, and with old school NAD amplification without a sub. I also compared them directly to the Pioneer SP-FS52 designed by Andrew Jones. The Polks are fabulous with a sub. However, so are the Pioneers. The Polks deliver a smooth, uncolored sound with fat (in a good way) bass, and a slightly boxy, recessed mid range. Very pleasant to listen to on all types of music. However the Pioneers have a more refined mid range and high end that showcase the Polk's flaws. The high end is detailed, but a bit forward and splashy, where as the Pioneers are more detailed and controlled. Bass is tighter and more accurate with the Pioneers, and there is more punch and speed evident. I like em both, and I'm keeping both! Polk brings it, but they can be bested.
Pros: Smooth, musical, wonderful bass, smart looking in a small footprint. Bi-amp capable. Sound great on a variety of music. Don't need a lot of power to shine. No serious flaws, affordable almost audiophile sound. Polk continues its tradition of hitting above its weight. Many hi end speakers fall short of the Polk objective of creating speakers for music lovers without the bloated price. Kudos Polk.
Cons: Splashy high end, less punchy dynamics than some competitors. A little chesty sounding. Nit picking, really.
I put a set of these with a CS10 and they match great. I have two (2) subs so these are for mid and highs only which takes some burden off the cones.
Pros: Loo great and sound great.
The TSI300's are very nice! they sound great with my Yamaha RXV-465. When I hooked them up, I thought they sounded distorted on the low end. The bass just would not come out smooth no matter how low or high I adjusted the bass. I added a Polk sub and got the same results. The sub was distorted too. Just when I got fed up and was ready to return the speakers, I clicked OFF the sound enhancer button on the receiver and Bingo, the bass and everything else was fixed! The bass was clean no matter what I did to the EQ and at any volume! Smooth, clear, quality sound with movies, music, etc.. with or without the sub. Sounds even better WITHOUT the center channel(sold the center). The Yamaha rxv-465 sound enhancer was the problem(sounds bad on music with bass with any speaker). A Pair of tsi300's, a sub, and a a/v receiver capable of 2.1 surround sound sounds just right!
Pros: Sounds great and they ain't cheap looking! Can't go wrong with the 300's
These speakers sound awesome!
Pros: For the price, these area steal. I haven't even put an amp on them yet.
Excellent speakers. Great for front left & right of a surround sound system. Impressive performance.
Pros: Sound quality, clarity & style.
I have paired these speakers with a Yamaha a1020 in Bi-amp mode. In stereo mode with the sub turned off, these speakers have a sound and clarity that is nearly indescribable. From stereo sound to front channel job in movies, they can't do wrong. To see what these could do for an old amp I connected them to a Kenwood VR-306 from 1998, Bi-wired. Nearly the same result, the a1020 is a hard act to follow. On the other hand, I would recommend the TSI300's for those looking to add clarity and depth to an aging system. They allow for later expandability with a present day upgrade. It's hard to find fault in the design. I would expect something of this caliber to be twice the cost but, thank you Polk and Crutchfield for not making that so. If you're looking for quality, you found it.
Pros: Frequency Response Bi-amp/wire Capability Sophisticated Appearance
Cons: None to date
Overall best speakers I purchased so far. Sleek solid black wood casing, superb quality sound. Adds a lot of style to any living room. Loving it!!!
Great Sound Quality, beutifull finish Superb value
Pros: sound quality,finish
Enjoying the sounds from my Polk Audio TSi300 Speakers. They are super for the price! The bass is sightly stomping and the treble works excellent with the bass, all sounds so clean and pure. Loving them!
Pros: Great sound for the value, nice futuristic appearance,
Cons: Would like to have more of the Polk audio type speakers, the bass could be bit more powerful,
Even after reading the reviews and doing the research, I wasn't expecting such a lovely-sounding speaker at this price. What other reviewers have said is generally true, they do sound a bit bright at first but that does seem to mellow out just fine. The low bass is weak as one would expect for a small speaker but it is clean and tight and rolls off smoothly with no hint of port noise. I use them with a subwoofer in a small room so the bass response is not an issue for me. What Polk appears to have done here is match a capable tweeter very precisely with a well damped and baffled ported woofer system. The result is clean, detailed highs with nice imaging and sound stage, no noticeable humps, dips, or resonances all the way down to where the bass falls out yielding musical midrange and accurate mid-bass. I am very pleased with these and they actually sound better to me than some much more expensive speakers (purely subjective of course as the setups and rooms were different). They get more than loud enough for me in a small room and don't seem to strain or color when driven. Voices and instruments sound real, which to me is the ultimate criterion. Lastly, our bird seems to enjoy them. The first time I tried them out the bird perked up and started dancing and singing to the music, much more enthusiastically and happily than with the old bookshelf speakers we were using before. The bird still loves them, so they have one bird's approval as well.
Pros: Great sound! Inexpensive! Can get loud but stay clean-sounding Look quite nice Decent sensitivity
Cons: A subwoofer is helpful/needed The dual binding post system is a bit finicky
Jury still out.....sound is nice.....but I guess that is the problem..it is nice. They dont hit you with the crispness I expected. Paired them with a Marantz CR610 receiver......just lacks "drive"...if that is the right word
Pros: nice sound. Good profile...looks good in room
Cons: not enough punch or sizzle
I lucked out and picked up these for a song! On super sale last fall 2013. Bi-Amped them with 90 watts to each set of binding posts. Cranked them for about a month and fell in love with the POLK TSi series. Since then I bought the CS20 center channel, and the TSi 400's,TSi 100's and the 440pro wi sub. Im a POLK fan for life. The TSi300's broke open into great sound after that first month. Now seven months into their break in I'm eve more impressed. Crutchfield is my source for expert knowledge and great service.
Pros: Value, Sound, Quality. Looks. ETC...
Cons: None. TSi 300 is a solid buy.
Not an audiophile, but I know what I like. These speakers are primarily used for a home theater set-up in a medium sized room...probably 18' x 18' but open to a larger great-room. These speakers are combined with a Polk CS10 center channel and RC80i rear speakers...and a 12" sub. I can't compare this set-up with anything else since it is replacing a non-surround set-up. There really is no comparison in that regard. This set-up provides an imersive environmentfor both movies and gaming. I've watched movies at other' house that have the smaller kit speakers and I can say that these provide a much more rich and full range sound. They met my expectations and exceeded my needs for the price. As a minor plus, they look nice as well...the piano finish on the top is a nice addition.
Pros: Full range performance, looks.
These have become my front speakers for my 3.1 home audio system, and my primary speakers for playing stereo music. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the recliner, closing one's eyes, listening to a great piece of music, and imagining each instrument as the Polks project its clarity. You'd swear you were surrounded by the orchestra!
Pros: Typical Polk quality in design, manufacture, finish and sound!
The TSI series creates a full sounding effect that has made my new theatre room the place to be.
Pros: Great sound and look
Sounds and looks good, but not audiophile quality, which is expected for the price. I previously used Polk bookshelf speakers for the left and right channels and was satisfied. They moved to the front high position, making the overall system sound more realistic with these on either side of the TV.
Pros: Good sound quality for the price
wonderful full sound
You expect big sound from a big speaker and you get it from this speaker and them some. I have been very pleased with these speakers that are the "2" of a complete Polk Audio 3.1 system that includes two of these TSi300's, a TSi CS10 center channel and PSW108 subwoofer. I am powering these speakers with a Sony STRDH720 AV receiver and watching on a Sony KDLEX720 TV.
Pros: Big Sound Attractive Easy Installation
These are amazing! I am extremely pleased but I can't imagine how much better the more expensive Polk speakers could be. Love the piano black finish!
Pros: Beautiful sound! I've rediscovered my music!
Cons: _______? Nothing!
I purchased these TSi's as front speakers for my 7.1 home theater system in my family room. My system is a Sony 46" XBR HD TV powered by a Marantz SR 6005 AV Surround Home Theater Receiver. The front speakers are the Polk TSi 300 floor speakers with a Paradigm Cinema CC Monitor Series center speaker and a Infinity PS 28 powered subwoofer. The back speakers are Definitive Technology Pro Monitor 800 bookshelf speakers and Mirage Nanostat satellite speakers for the surround sides. The size of my family room is approx. 20 x 14 feet. I just watched the Blu-Ray by Marvel "The Avengers" in 7.1 audio and like I said it rocked the house down. The high and low output from the new front TSi 300 speakers is amazing. This is quality at a great price.
Pros: Smooth Sound of Speakers
Love the sound and look of these speakers.
Pros: slim design, sound quality & price
I researched a number of speakers in this price range and found the Polk TSi300 to have the best all around performance. They are versatile speakers that can be used as mains, as I do, or in various arrangements equally well.
Fantastic mains for my home theater!
Pros: Crisp and clear sound.
The Polk speakers sit on both sides of the couch and are pointed to the recliner across the living room. Even sitting in the middle of the couch, the sound is incredible. I have to look around to verify that no one is playing the music live behind me. The value of this purchase through Crutchfield is excellent, the speakers sound great and there are no shipping/handling charges or tax.
Pros: Mid- and high-range response is great!
Cons: Bass is acceptable for the large volume of living room (16x18x20). I retained the use of my Klipsch subwoofer to help complete the aural experience.
I've compered these speaker with many other well know speaker companies and I have to admit that I was amazed when these ones came up to the stage. I wasn't a big polk audio fan but after listening to the "cheap small" tsi series I was sorpised. The speaker Very well built. Quality materials and a very unique desing that matches any moder decoration (my wife likes them) again these are the bottom and smallest in the tsi series. Bi-amp capable which is very rare in this price piont. Performance Vs, klipsh, energy (floor stander) and infinity and bose, I have to say that polk was the best to my ears. You got it let it break in. These don't have that much bass you really need a sub for home theater application. The mids are clear but the heights are very impressive even at very very hight volume. Over all they are the beets for the money even though there are better speakers then these. If you are looking for great performance without sacrificing you wallet this is the way to go. Crutchfield is amazing the transaction was smooth and incredible fast shipping. I got all the tsi series and the cs10 with a psw111 that I got for free back in December!!
Pros: Advance features in low cost speakers. Performed better then expected!! Very stable and reliable! Great looking too!! Small for a floor stand speaker but big sound.
Cons: Tweeter is not in the top part of the cabinet, I'm tall, when I sit down the tweeter is not to my ear level. Sound great anyway!
Very clean responsive bass I love them
Clean and stylish look. Sound is clean and clear, I wasn't looking for super loud. Just clean and crisp sounds.
This is the second TSi 300 I bought, I recently upgraded my HT system to TSi 500's(4), for the front and surround and a pair of TSi 400's for the rear. Like a lot of people I put the "old" system into the kids room. It has four TSi 400's and two 300's, and a CS10. I like Polk Audio TS series speakers because they look nice, aren't real expensive, sound great for what I payed, and are readily available. I don't need a ton of power to get good sound out of them, they don't eat up a lot of floor space. I'm using an older Yamaha 7.2 A/V amp. in the other room with a PS3 and a Sony 52" XBR5. In an average sized room with this set up, and two Polk PW10 sub woofers, it's great for most movie/game use. Also Polk has been making these for awhile, I bought 4 TSi 100's in '08, so if I need to add or upgrade I can mix and match and they sound good together. My system is now one 400 short so I'll be buying another one of those soon. All in all I'd reccomend these speakers to someone looking for a great sounding, inexpensive, attractive, well built speaker that still sounds fantastic even after years of use. Another nice feature is the floor standing ones are versatile, easily to place, move around, and have pointy feet to keep them located. Anyone looking for a bookshelf type speaker may be interested in these as they are at the right height for listening.
Pros: A lot of people sell them, Big box stores sell them at a discount in an "open box" condition, so pricing is attractive. They match other manufactures finish(s). They have good mid and high range, bass output is descent, however for movie watching(I watch Blu rays), I think a sub woofer is a must with these types of speakers, two subs would be even better I guess. I think I own twenty or so of the various sizes in the TSi series, from the 100 to the 500's, never had any problems with any of them.
Cons: None really, If I had to do it over again, I'd save up or find some TSi 500's on sale or whatever and get those(space permitting). Other than that for under $200(ea.), the TSi 300's are a fine sounding speaker.
Great speakers, and crutchfield had the best price.
good quality for the price
Pros: affordable, nice finish, good performance
Beautiful sound - Attractive price. The Pold Audio TSi 300 speakers are fantastic. These speakers handle any and all material played through them quite well. Admittedly, I was listening for the low end performance and they sound particularly good on when playing movies and and games. Can you get better sound? I suppose so, but get ready to fork out several thousand more dollars to get marginal improvement. Call Crutchfield and order these now.
Pros: Fantastic sound and excellent price.
Cons: They are tall speakers.
These are great sounding speakers. I replaced some older (1974!) Panasonic Technics speakers and I couldn't be happier. I'm no expert audiophile but I do appreciate crisp clear and clean sound coming from my sound system and I am getting that from these. I bought a pair, one was "Scratch & Dent" and the other was "Open Box" which saved me about $60.00. I can't find a scratch or a dent and the "Open Box" was re-taped so all-in-all that was a good deal.
Pros: Terrifically clear sound in beautiful cabinetry. Awesome service as always from Crutchfield.
Cons: Had I acted a week earlier and bought them when they were on sale I would have saved about $125.00. So...no cons.
I paired these with the Denon 1913 AVR for a nice addition to my Music and TV experience
Pros: Wonderful sound and quality. Great for the price.
i purchased these speakers on a"whim", didnt need them, i have 3 other pairs of very expensive speakers. i was researching another product for a friend and stumbled across these by accident. for the price i had to have them. these speakers are being powered in a 2 channel system by a 200 wpc adcom power amp and a tube pre-amp, a system in which they have no right to be in and they sound great ! do they compare to 1000.00 pr. bookshelfs ? no, but they are worth every penny i paid and even at the regular price, i would buy them again.
Pros: plenty of detail , very smooth overall , more bass than you might expect
Cons: can sound a little "woody" in the mids on some material
I like speakers that look beautiful as well as sounding great.....The veneer cabinets of the TSi300 are stunning (I have the cherrywood finish). Now for the sound...these speakers are quite good for the money. I have not heard a better pair in the $400 price range. Good bass response, although not quite as defined as I prefer but again, for the money this is a killer set of speakers. I use them for the TV, playing DVD's and CD's, and I'm very happy with this purchase.
Pros: Stunning looks, very good sound.
Cons: Bass is slightly muddy, though not bad.
These speakers have great presence in a room. I give them a five-star rating based on value basis. I purchased these on sale. I don't feel you can get a better speaker for that price. I feel that they are still a good value at list price which is twice that amount. The speakers could have a little more bass but that's what subs are for. There is excellent sound stage, tight bass and clear highs. Overall, I am very satisfied with these speakers and I have recommended them to friends.
Pros: Good looking, great sound and very reasonable price.
Cons: Could use a little more bass
A definite uprgrade from my 15 year-old Polk bookshelves. Good look. Nice sound. Seem to be overpowered by my Polk CS20 center channel - even though they are bi-amped to a Yamaha AX-A720 Aventage receiver.
Pros: Crutchfield service is a nice throwback to when service meant something. If I had thought to ask, they probaably would have suggested bumping up the towers.
Hooked these up to a Yamaha surround sound amp and a couple of Polk Audio book shelf speakers with a Sony center channel speaker as well. They sound fine. No complaints. I didn't expect alot of big strong sound, and they don't put out alot of big strong sound. They're nice low end speakers.
Pros: Nice low end speakers for a surround sound system.
Cons: They're not big on bass or powerful strong speakers. But I didn't really expect that with small 6 inch speakers. Good speakers but not going to impress anyone.
I absolutely love these speakers. I also bought the CS20 center and PSW111 sub. They sound freakin' awesome, couldn't be happier.
Pros: Inexpensive, sound fantastic
I am not going to talk this up as al the other reviews do, but I will say if you do not mid the towers on your floor and want AWESOME sound...This is it! Bang for the buck, hands down the best sounding sysem I have ever put together...
Cons: They are towers so if you do not want things on your floor this could be a con. To me, it ROCKS!
Really nice speakers for your surround sound especially if you have the entire set. the TSI 500 TS I400 TSI300.
Pros: By the entire set
Cons: You'll have no problems and you won't go wrong
Sounds great in Hi's and mid ranges and OK at low-will add a sub woofer to fill in. Looks great and the narrow stature fits well in the confind area \
nice low budget towers-i don't have surround sound, but these 2 speakers sound pretty nice all by themselves
Great value for the cost, a clear balanced sound.
The speakers for the price are awsome because the sound comes crystal clear, tight and neat. It will improve any speahers system and the sound at ear level gives an extraordinary surround sound. Thanks for the assistance of your consumer services personnell.
After having spent about 3 months with these speakers I have found them to be suitable to my current needs. They replaced a pair of Cerwin Vega RE-38's that I had for about 10 years that walked off a cliff like a pair of lemmings along with my Sony receiver. Due to budgetary issues I had to start back at the bottom end (in my opinion) in putting together a new system. The TSi's though are in no comparison to the Vega's in the bass department, but they stand on their own in the area of sound clarity. I have always been of the opinion that bigger is always better, but the TSi's have somewhat changed my opinion in that area. They take up much less real estate and I have paired them with the Polk Audio PSW111 sub-woofer which makes up for their lack of outlandish bass that I had been used too (though not fully, but it does hit those lows in just the right spots). I have everything connected to a Denon ARV-1911 which I am growing more attached to everyday. Looking forward to putting my pennies together in order that I may purchase Polk Audio's more advanced RTi A9's down the line and further upgrade the sub and the rest of my components.
Pros: Sound clarity, small overall imprint, quality construction.
I bought these as my primary front speakers for a 5.1 system in my main living area. I use them for about 50% music and 50% tv/movies. I wanted to get the 400's, but my available floor space had me limited. I was concerned the 300's might disappoint me. The Crutchfield rep told me I needn't worry, especially if I was going to Bi-amp them. I bought them knowing I could return them and trade up, if needed. He was right. These speakers fill my living area (with a vaulted ceiling) with rich and full sound. I am totally satisfied. Thanks, Crutchfield!
Pros: Bi-Amping these speakers really turns them on.
The Polk Audio TSi300 floor standing speakers are amazing, along with the other Polk speakers I purchased for a 7.1 surround sound system. The speakers were easy to set up, option of bare wire or banana plug. They are impressive looking and sound even better. A great speaker for the price.
bought to replace 15 year old bose bookshelf speaker, WOW, sold me right away. Now im looking for another s 4 for my basement. Im usinfg for surround front. You will love these
I used two of the Polk TSi 300's to replace the front speakers in my theater room and they make a incredible difference! I also purchased a sub, but these speakers could allow one to even skip the sub-woofer (although 500watts of sub-woofer is nice). Anyway, I'm no expert, but the clarity and shear crisp "loadness" of these speakers is amazing....needless to say, I like them.
Pros: sound quality and look
Cons: none to note
Great sound for the price! I have both tower speakers and center channel, the ideal combination for a great crisp sound.
I bought these speakers because I wanted a small fullrange speaker without having to use a Sub. I live in a townhouse so sometimes when I watch a movie or listen to music I get a text or phone call from the neighbors. Without a sub I can turn the TSi's up and have enough bass to enjoy video or music. No more complaints from neighbors. One more comment....With the two 5.25 drivers these seem to have better midrange than some bookshelf speakers with a 6.5.
Outstanding sound quality from these mid-tower speakers. I am using them along with other Polk speakers for my 3-D home theatre system and they are wonderful! Especially with the Polk subwoofer, I have terrific surround sound since I am using these mini-towers as my rear surround speakers. Great value for the money, IMO!
Purchased a set of TSi300's for my front left and right. I'm using them in a bi-amp configuration by taking the speaker jumper bar out and using the Denon surround amp for the upper speakers. Sounds very nice. Not sure why, but I actually liked the sound of these over the TSi400's even though they are more $$.
This pair of Polk TSi300 speakers, in combination with the matching CS10 center channel, deliver a rich, full sound, even without subwoofer. With subwoofer added, the speakers churn out good mids and highs. But I also enjoy this set without the subwoofer, allowing the three dual-woofer speakers to weave together the entire range of solid lows and crisp highs.
I love these speakers. Not only do they sound fantastic but they look excellent on each side of my tv stand!
Great sound, nice packaging, nothing to complain about.
The Polk Audio TSi300 speakers are great. I bought to use as my Front Speakers in my Surround Sound design. The quality is terrific and also delivers very good range while listening to the stereo or CD's. Great "bang for the buck"!
i was able to demo this speakers for a whole weekend played "bohemian rhapsody by queen live, heavy metal, slow rock, pop and jazz.impressive to say the least it does lack the low end a bit to make it complete, highs are crisp, mid range clear.good performer over all!
Did a listening test side by side with many other speakers and absolutely loved these speakers hands down. They are so crystal clear...you can hear each individual sound! Originally I bought a Yamaha RX-V467 receiver with these speakers and never could get it to sound right. I found that it had ridiculously high distortion rates, so I returned it receiver and bought a Pioneer VSX-33 which has 110W RMS per channel. I then bi- amped these speakers which provides 220W RMS total EACH which made these TSI300s absolutely come alive. It's incredible how even a entry-level receiver can kill the capabilities of a speaker. ***Try to have a quality amp with clean power...low T.H.D. from 20hz-20khz! My Pioneer is .08% from 20hz-20khz while driving all channels at 110 watts *CONTINUOUS* each. To clarify bi-amping to those who do not know: These speakers come with two sets of inputs, if you want to attach only one set of speaker wires, thats great, just hook it up to either set of inputs. If you want to bi-amp then you (MUST) remove the metal bar that connects the sets of inputs. Then your receiver...which ALSO has to support this bi-amp feature...will dedicate another set of inputs to the speaker and you'll use two wires per speaker. The thinking behind this is that you separate the tweeters from the woofers and dedicate clean power to each. So if possible, I recommend bi- amping these speakers. Regardless, they sound amazing for their price range...you won't be disappointed!
I got these speakers to go with my Sonos B250. I was alittle skeptical about the Sonos 120 not having enough amp power to push these speakers. Boy was I wrong... These speakers rock, the highs are crystal clear, the mids are nice and tight. And no need for a external sub woofer. These speakers can handle the lows just fine!!! I love the sound quality of these speakers. I listen to all genres and these speakers are very nice with my sons hiphop, my wifes latin and my jazz. These speakers are up to the task. I love them, they will get there 1st real test this weekend, when we have a party at my house. If it goes like I am sure they will my friends will be impressed.
These speakers are wicked Loud. I was looking to update my surround system in my living room. I have an Onkyo TX-DS797 which puts out descent power, about 210 watts per channel. I cranked these up and it is honestly too loud sometimes that i have to turn it down. They sound great listening to music and even better when watching movies. I was most impressed with the range of sound that is produced. I heard things I've never heard on songs I've listened to 100's of times. Another thing, I expected these speakers to produce clear, accurate sound but did not expect them to produce much bass, I was wrong. These speakers make my house rattle more than my old 250 watt powered sub, while still produce clear accure sounds. I would recommend these speakers to anyone. I'd buy them again in a second.
I bought a Polk sub PSW-111 to make my old surround sound better and it did a great job. Now that blu-rays have been around my old receiver doesn't decode DTS etc. So I upgraded to a Yamaha rx-v465. This made a such an improvement, but I was still lacking the mid-range sound. I was thinking about getting the polk surround rm85's but after listening to them in the store they didn't impress me. So I checked out the TSi-300 and was amazed. Once I got them home and hooked them up and ran the YPAO I was blown away. For music there is no need to have the sub and when it comes to movies, my neighbors now hate me. The entire sound stage is flawless.
These speakers sound amazing. I am playing them through an old receiver that I do not know where i came from. It sounds very good through this receiver. I am hoping to buy a Yamaha RX-797. These speakers are a very good buy for the price. I might also add I listen to music more than movies or ball games. I do not know how they would sound for those purposes but they serve my purposes great.
Ya know, people it seems spend an awful lot of time fretting over who else thinks they've made the right choice in speakers, what brands people favor, etc. For me, it's just about the music, plain and simple. I want to hear detail. The singer breathing in and out, I want to hear the squeal of calloused fingertips on guitar strings, the roughness in a vocalist's throat from singing in smoky rooms until late at night with not enough rest between venues. I want to close my eyes and feel like the band is right infront of me. And if that's what you want, no fancy processing, no crazy 7.1 setup, just plain, pure, straight-shot music, this is what you need. These speakers powered by a Yamaha RX-797, no sub...that's amazing. Every detail is there without a stupid amount of bass to muddle the details and drown out what really makes the songs I listen to immersive. Elegantly simple. Love it.

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.
Klippel Optimized: Using a state-of-the-art Klippel Distortion Analyzer, Polk engineers were able to optimize the speaker structure and cabinet design for the best possible performance, even at extreme listening levels.
High Efficiency Design: Compatible with practically any AV receiver, these speakers produce sound that is open, spacious and clear, even when driven by modestly-powered amplifiers and receivers.
Bi-Laminate Composite Woofers: The speaker features two 5.25" bi-laminate composite dynamic balance drivers which are light and stiff for deep bass response and low distortion. For high performance durability, each woofer uses a butyl rubber surround.
Silk dome Tweeters: The speaker features a 1.0" silk dome dynamic balance tweeter for detailed highs. The tweeter features mylar bypass capacitors in the crossovers to extend high frequency response and improve detail and transparency.
Frequency Response: The overall frequency response is 35Hz-25kHz and the -3dB frequency response is 47-24kHz.
Quality Built Cabinets: The TSi speaker cabinets are extensively braced MDF with ¾" thick baffles. With pewter accents, a piano black top plate and removable black grille, TSi speakers look awesome and take up less than one square foot. All models are available in a choice of black or cherry wood-grain vinyl finishes.
Narrow Baffle Geometry: Narrow baffle geometry is a design that creates a sleek looking speaker with great sound. The high quality cabinet is slender and tucks away easily in your room. The smaller-diameter speaker components are lighter in mass, translating to clearer sound.
Flared Ports: All TSi speakers feature critically-tuned flared ports. Flared ports minimize port noise ("chuffing") and ensure good low frequency extension with low distortion. With flared ports, TSi speakers reveal realistic, natural, full-bodied sound with rich bass. These TSi floorstanding speakers feature a down-firing power port.
Dual 5-Way Binding Posts: The speaker has two sets of gold-plated 5-way binding posts connected by gold-plated jumpers. Using the dual 5-way binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers.
Placement: Create an equilateral triangle between the speaker and the listening position. If you notice video distortion or discoloration, immediately move the speaker away from the video source.
Built-In Conical Feet: The speaker features four built-in conical feet to ensure stability for precise bass response and superior imaging.

I hope my receiver/tuner amp (Yamaha HTR-5590) is strong enough to drive them. I don't do the home theater thing. These Polks will be used mainly for CD/vinyl/cassette listening. [ al Nov 24, 2017 ]

I have been a loyal Polk Speaker purchaser since the mid 80's. I still own a pair of Polk Monitor 10-b's; and a pair of Polk; LSiM 707's purchased from Crutchfield a few years ago. I will use these along with the Monitor 10's for a surround system I am putting together. I love the sound, smoothness and bass reflex action of them. I had to replace my Proscan 35" TV internal speakers (rotted out) with something, so decided on these. I hope the 10W RMS output from it will give sufficient loudness. [ Thomas D. May 02, 2017 ]
Its a good match for my receiver [ mario Feb 28, 2017 ]

Reviews and price [ ERIC Jan 13, 2017 ]
I have wanted a pair of Polk Standing speakers for a long time (Stereo Review's magazine of the 1980's), now I can finally justify buying them since 4 out of my 5 children are out of college and on their own. [ John Jan 11, 2017 ]

Adviser recommended based on planned use, listening preference, and room size [ MARK C Nov 22, 2016 ]
I have moved and bought a new denon receiver. While setting up my system I realized that one of my front speakers had gone bad. I had originally intended to wait and save up to buy some fairly high end speakers but now I needed to get speakers on a budget. These fit the price point and the reviews are very positive. I'm sure they will be a big step up from my previous speakers. [ Joel Oct 03, 2016 ]
Liked the Cherry color. Compatible with other colors in room. [ Jackie Mar 29, 2016 ]
I was going for the 'level up' in the scratch and dent, but they only had a single speaker in stock. The TSi300 was on sale, so I figured I check them out instead. [ Rebecca Mar 02, 2016 ]
Yes, they will work. And I love these speakers. [ Karen Aug 31, 2018 ]
Not sure but these speakers are capable of regular positive & negative hook up via speaker wire given your receiver outputs. Check how much power your receiver sends to speakers & compare to how much speakers can handle. [ Keith Aug 31, 2018 ]
The SONY is rated 100 watts per stereo channel, and the Polks will handle that. Now, as to what you do with it, ah there's the question, the Polks may behave better with more power for LOUD rock, but normal listening volume should be just fine. I drive mine with a NAD integrated amp, rated about 40 per channel, and I have beautiful sound, so the SONY should be FINE!! [ ROBERT W. Aug 31, 2018 ]
I do not know, but I will see if the person who selected and set them up might know. I will get back with you. [ Karen Aug 31, 2018 ]
I looked at the specs on the receiver and it's 8 ohms. These speakers should work well. You'll have to keep them bi amped (the metal piece connecting the two terminals) since the receiver only has two channels. [ Matthew Aug 31, 2018 ]
With "100 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at .08% THD, with 2 channels driven" stereo sound will be FINE. Polk makes good speakers. But if you plan using 7.2 setup fully, remember to keep to efficient speakers for the rest of the channels. [ ROBERT W. Aug 31, 2018 ]
Although I've never used Polk speakers, I am using premiere acoustics speakers and I believe you will get better results with Polk.. [ julian Feb 17, 2017 ]
Yes they are. However I would go with the TSI400 or even better yet the TSI400 you can still find them oN line cheep. [ BRAD Feb 17, 2017 ]
The Polk Audio would be a good match with the Onkyo receiver.I have a bigger model polk towers hooked up to mine and they sound great. If you are using to play movies, make sure to get a good center channel speaker too. [ Guest Feb 17, 2017 ]
They come with a hard metal connector, connecting bass and treble terminals. Remove to biwire, leave it there to have single wires coming in. [ ROBERT W. Aug 31, 2018 ]
With jumpers [ WILLIAM B Aug 29, 2016 ]
There are two sets of red & black connectors. You use just one set for a normal connection, and for bi-amping you use all four after removing the metal jumpers. [ Tom Aug 27, 2016 ]

The price is listed each - so it will be for just one speaker. [ Jeff Nov 26, 2013 ] Staff
The Port of these speakers is at the bottom of the cabinet (Down Fire Port). If your TV or Monitor is LCD, LED or OLED, do not worry as these types of TV is not affected by Magnetism. [ JESUS Oct 31, 2017 ]
Up date to my earlier answer. The speakers are ported through the bottom, this the ports are not visible. [ Alan Oct 17, 2017 ]
Port is on the bottom. My speakers are maybe 2 feet from a 55-inch LED and they work just fine. [ Dennis Oct 17, 2017 ]
I am using both the TSI 300 speakers and TSI 400 speakers. I use the 300's for the rear speakers and the 400's for the front speakers. Question 1: Ported - I have never noticed the ports, maybe in the bottom (guessing).. I'm going to check when I get home as I'm now curious. Question 2: How far from the LCD TV: Generally my front speakers are about 4-8 feet either side of the TV (65" Sony). The difference in distances depends on how the room is set up. BUT, I also have the Polk CSI-A4 center speaker which lives about a foot under the TV. I've never had an issue with interference. Years ago I had a different system with a plasma screen and definitely had an issue, but none with the Polk and Sony combination. [ Alan Oct 17, 2017 ]
I suggest the Polk Audio TSi CS10 (Cherry) that is the perfect center channel companion speaker. Unfortunately Crutchfiiels only sells the model in black. [ JESUS Oct 31, 2017 ]
During your planning make sure to consider how high the tv would be if you placed it above the speaker. Avoid placing the tv so high your neck so your neck starts to ache from looking up for a whole movie. I wouldn't recommend placing the speaker on its side because of its design.
