Woofer: The cone is constructed of Polypropylene, giving you lower distortion and a natural resistance to moisture.
Hi-Roll Rubber Surround: The hi-roll rubber surround offers superior cone edge suspension and rejects moisture and UV rays. Additionally, the hi-roll design allows for greater excursion, resulting in deeper bass response.
Progressive Spider: The progressive spider offers better control at excursion limits than a linear spider, giving you more accurate bass.
Dual-Stacked Magnets: The dual-stacked magnet assembly increases efficiency.
Vented Pole Piece: The vented pole piece allows air to circulate in the voice coil gap; air circulating in the voice coil gap helps dissipate heat and results in greater power handling and increased reliability.
Extended Back Plate: The back plate has been stepped deeper to allow the woofer more room for excursion without bottoming out.
Gold-Plated Binding Posts: The gold-plated binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade connectors, or banana plugs. Since the binding posts will not accept dual banana plugs, they are not 5-way.
Enclosure Compatibility: This woofer can provide extended bass in sealed, vented and bandpass enclosures. It is designed to work best in a sealed enclosure with an internal volume of 0.75 cu/ft, or a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 1.75 cu/ft (port diameter: 3", port length: 9.01", port tuning frequency: 28 Hz). The recommended bandpass enclosure has a sealed chamber volume of 1.00 cu/ft, and a ported chamber volume of 1.00 cu/ft (port diameter: 4", port length: 7.87", port tuning frequency: 50 Hz).
