About the Infinity Kappa 693.3i

Infinity first developed the Ceramic-Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.) for home speaker systems — sandwiching an aluminum cone between two layers of ceramic to create a rugged, extremely musical driver. The 693.3i 6"x9" 3-way speaker uses C.M.M.D. design in both its oversized Plus One woofer and 1" dome tweeter for exceptional full-range performance. The EMIT supertweeter adds impressively-detailed high-frequency response.

The EMIT supertweeter adds impressively-detailed high-frequency response.

The 693.3i also includes an outboard 2-way crossover for a seamless transition from woofer to tweeter. A cast-polymer basket and foamed rubber surround eliminate unwanted resonances, adding to speaker accuracy. 3-year warranty.

Product Research

Features

Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (C.M.M.D.): Infinity's C.M.M.D. technology delivers accurate performance with dramatically reduced distortion for incredibly lifelike sound. Additionally, the C.M.M.D. drivers can withstand extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity and sunlight.

C.M.M.D. Plus One Woofer Cones: These speakers use cones approximately 30% larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency. In addition, the C.M.M.D. cones virtually eliminate coloration due to cone flexing, resulting in less distortion and superior accuracy.

Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

C.M.M.D. Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1" C.M.M.D. dome tweeter that offers superior stiffness and damping compared to traditional metal domes.

EMIT Super Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 1-1/8" metallic planar EMIT tweeter for bright, well defined high frequency reproduction.

2-Way Crossovers: These speakers include computer-optimized, voice-matched crossovers. Each crossover features an 18dB/octave, 3.5kHz high-pass network for the tweeter and an 18dB/octave, 3.5kHz low-pass network for the woofer.

Crossover Input/Output Connections: Each crossover has an 11" input lead terminated with bare wire and two 18" output leads, one for the woofer and one for the tweeter, terminated with female quick-slides.

Crossover Dimensions: L=3.458", W=1.734", H=1.087"
