You probably spend more time listening to music in your car than in your home. Why not enjoy home speaker sound quality when you're on the road?

Infinity Reference 9612i 6"x9" speakers feature silk dome tweeters that would be right at home in your living room speakers. These sweet-sounding domes deliver crisp, clear response, yet won't fatigue the ears. The tweeters pivot, so you can direct the highs for a well-balanced stereo "sweet spot" — just like sitting in your favorite listening spot at home.

Infinity designed their Plus One+ woofers with more surface area than other 6"x9" speakers, for higher efficiency and improved bass output. A sturdy rubber surround suspends the cone in its non-resonant powder-coated steel basket.

Settle into the driver's seat and make the most of your daily drive time with the exceptional sound of Infinity Reference speakers.

2000 Chrysler Cirrus

I purchased these for the rear deck of my cirrus about 3 weeks ago to match the infinity component speakers I had in the front. First I ran them off a panasonic deck and they are Great speakers... super clear, super clean sound. Hooked them up to a 100x2 watt amp and wow. Really brought out the bass. I would recoment them to anyone that actually listens to their music to hear it.. not just wake the neighbors (although they will probably do that too)

I picked these up for my 2002 Grand Am (now totaled)... they were GREAT! I had the factory system (not even monsoon),added these, faded slightly to the back and wow... better bass than some subwoofers I'd say. I highly recommend these speakers especially for the low price on this site.

i rate these speakers a 5 for 3 reasons. sq for the price? perfect! as for the highs they are clear from low to high volume. now i dont know what enclosures you guys are using but these speakers play bass, alot of bass actually more than i anticipated. midbass guitars to 808 kicks they p[layed loud and clear. i am usin them in free air, 100 rmsx2 in a 77 caddy coupe deville. come on! take off the box and let these speakers breath @ 300 watts max they can take it

Great Components Speakers

I just got the Reference Series Components installed in my Camry, and let me tell you they sound awesome. I have them powered by the Infinity 7541a four channel amp, and these speakers SCREAM! the only weakness that i can think of, is they don't hit the lows very well, but they aren't subs...All in all these with the reference 2 way 6x9's, and a Kappa Perfect 12.1 powered by the Infinity 611 sub amp, its pretty hard to beat for the money. Crisp, Full sound. AND LOUD. Couldn't be more pleased. Crutchfield is amazing, my subs actually came 2 days EARLY! couldn't believe it. definately have my business from now on.

Great sound but pain to install these bad boys

I have a 99' camry and the install was a pain, but my dad and i did it one night to save money. Crutchfield gave me everything I needed to remove panels (also the connection adapters), but the drilling was the hard part. But if you like working on your own car like me, enjoy. The sound is very clean and it hits the highs and mids perfectly with just the power from the Head unit (22x4 rms). I can turn my volume extremely loud and my ears don't ring like factory speakers. Also purchased the Infinity Ref 6 1/2 for the front. Same story. I knew these speakers are not going to produce loud heavy bass but that's why i also purchased the Infinity Ref 1250w 12" subs for the trunk. There running 300w rms each in sealed enclosure with polyfil. Sounds amazing. Overall I am now an infinity loyal customer. Thanks crutch for everything.

Good Buy for Honda

Speakers sound very nice in both my 2001 4dr and 2002 2dr Accords. Very clean. I had already replaced the fronts with the 6.5" Infinitys. These added nice depth. Would highly reccommend & will install in my CR-V. Holes in speakers do not line up with holes in rear deck. First car reworked speaker holes, big pain. Next car drilled out deck holes (note: 5mm not 8mm per instructions) with 1/4" drill, used 5/8" #8 panhead screws and nylon locknuts. Piece of cake, but be careful not to let drill grab and hit rear window.

Put these in my 1990 buick century and they sounded great with the factory deck. even better with my alpine deck. I highly reccomend these if your looking for a good all around speaker. (and for all the reviews a bout the bass issue. I think they have great bass. If you want loud deep bass, thats what they make subs for) Jimbo

The best sound I've heard in a long time for the price!

I had these speakers in my Cavaleir and they pushed great bass, mids and highs. When I sold it and got my '99 Grand Am these fit right in, with some minor convencing. I love the sound and these speakers, like others have said, make me want to drive my car just to hear them. You will not be disapointed by these.

I have 4 of these in the back of a 99 cadillac devile. Running off a rockford fosgate 4004 amp. Each speaker gets about 70 watts rms. They are the loudest and clearest speakers I have ever heard. I highly recommend them especially for the price. Before you buy your next 6x9's, check these out and I bet there is NO comparison.

Worth the effort

2000 Toyota Camry

The speakers sound great. The first album I tested was Dark Side of the Moon, and I could understand some spoken mutterings that I'd never heard clearly before. I'd give the speakers 5 stars for their clear sound. My one-star reduction is for installation issues. First, the reason I needed new speakers was because the wires got snagged and ripped from my Toyota Camry's factory speakers. I'm worried about these new Infinities because the lugs for their wire connections are flimsy and bent when I attached their wires. I'm sure a couple more bends would shear the lugs right off. Second, the speakers were difficult to install in my 2000 Camry. Crutchfield's instructions were mostly accurate, but I never found a way to drill holes precisely where they needed to be. I eventually got the speakers installed, but I have eight long, sharp screws sticking down at various angles into my trunk compartment.

Nice Speakers

I recently purchased these Infinity for my '95 Chysler Cirrus. When I first got the car it came with an ok Amp and stock 6x9's on the rear deck. They actual had great bass, which is good for stock, but when I put these in the results were incredible. Crutchfield hooks you up with wiring and the installtion took about 30 minutes. I fired them up to some rap early on to test the bass response, and the low hits were clean. The best part is the clarity of these speakers. Sounds you never heard before will come out of these tweeters. Great blend of highs, lows, and mids. These speakers make me smile everytime I step in the car. Thanks Crutchfield

Incredible speakers!

These speakers are incredible! Don't listen to the last guy, he probably hooked them up wrong like I did. I had one positive and one negative and they were canceling each other out to produce very little base. I really should research stuff better for my do it yourself projects. Anyways, I figured it out eventually and hooked them up right. Oh my god, they sound so sweet. Now I actually want to do grocery shopping and such just so I can get into my car and listen to the stereo. These speakers have been the most successful buy I've made for my car.

I bought these speakers for my 86 buick and i was overall disapointed with the bass. When i matched them up to my pioneer deck i found my stock speakers had about double the bass. I tried everything to get bass out of these speakers. I hooked them up to a 600 watt amp and still found myself disapointed with the bass. I bought these based on the reviews and in some cars they may sound bassy but definatly not in my car. I did receive though amazing highs loud enough to be heard a block away. If you are looking for clearity and highs i recommend these speakers but if its bass you want just add a sub.

FANTASTIC!!!

I just finished installing these speakers into the rear deck of my '98 Intrepid. After a little shoehorning, I put the car back together and fired them up. All I can say is WOW! Never in my life have I heard a set of 6x9's that sound that good. Amazing bass, crisp highs, and crystal-clear mid's. All this out of a 2-way driver! While comparison shopping, I actually found these speakers outperformed their brother 9613i speakers for overall sound clarity. I have these speakers along with a pair of 6012si's in the front doors and they blow me away. Can't wait to setup the Alpine amplifier next...

I just replaced my stock speakers in my 05 Grand Caravan with these in the rear (fronts next) and wow, what a difference. Lincoln hooked me up. I was going to put an amp in and a new deck, but after hearing these on the stock deck without an amp, I'm not so sure. I will merely be replacing the deck with a power enough to satisfy these guys. An amp would probably be too much. Not in the least dissatisfied with the Infinities. Course, I am comparing to stock which is a crime, but, for 120 bucks, these are great.

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Woofer Materials: Each woofer is constructed from Injection-Molded Polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also lighter weight and more rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

1" Silk Dome Tweeters (UniPivot Design): Each speaker uses a 1" edge-driven silk dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. The UniPivot tweeters are angled (non-adjustable) and may be turned up to 355 degrees for optimum imaging and in-car frequency response.

Note: The tweeters are not made to turn 360 degrees. If they are turned 360 degrees or more, they will be damaged.
