The BassLink gives you extensive control over your bass.

200 watts of bass power

The BassLink DC brings together a 10" subwoofer, a 10" passive radiator, and an extremely efficient, specially designed 200-watt Class D amplifier that all work together as an integrated system. The passive radiator gives you the increased efficiency of a ported enclosure, but without the problem of port noise. The amplifier also includes a limiter/compressor to monitor system function at peak power levels.

Plenty of control

An array of controls will enable you to tweak your bass until it has just the thump you want. For optimum blending, you can adjust the low-pass filter between 50 and 120 Hz to get the right bass for your system, while the phase switch (0- or 180-degrees) ensures your BassLink is firing in unision with the rest of your speakers. Adjust low bass impact with the bass EQ feature, which controls the amount of punch at 40 Hz.

Easy removal

Best of all, just pull out the quick-disconnect wiring plug and pop the sub out of its mounting bracket, and you've instantly added storage space in your vehicle. Just reverse the process, and you've got your bass back in less than ten seconds.

Features

Auto Turn-On: When the speaker level inputs are used, the system can automatically turn on and off by sensing the input signal. If you prefer, auto turn-on can be turned off, so the amp turns on/off using the wired remote terminal.

Note: The auto turn-on feature does not operate when the preamp level inputs are used.

Four Channel Input: Both the line level and speaker level inputs are four channel, so the bass output is not impacted by adjusting the fader. (If you prefer, just use a two channel input.)

Mounting: The BassLink DC can easily be removed from the mounting base when extra cargo space is needed.

Does this need to be mounted up and down? As in how it is in the picture,can you re orient outta final position?

I laid it flat (not sure if you're supposed to, but it works) but if you want to use the mount that comes with it you have to stand it up like it is in the picture.

Does this have any circuitry that enhances or restores the bass signal coming from the factory stereo? Or, would I need to add a sound processor like the 2-channel Audio Control unit to get a good, clear sub signal?

Use an 8 gauge splice, (I believe was included) Put the two yellows twisted together in one end and the 8 gauge in the other and crimp each end in place.

I own two BassLinks, one of them an older model and one newer. The older one has power, ground, and remote inputs like you would expect to see on an amp and the new one has the wiring harness with the yellow power wires that you referenced. I've got to be honest and disclose that I am not sure what has changed in the technical specs, but I get the exact same performance from each of them. I hate not knowing the why behind it, but it appears technology has changed and updated so that the amp doesn't need the same level of power provided as it once did. I'm very happy with these units. For the newer unit, I already had power and ground wires run as this was a replacement for another subwoofer that I had. I doubled up the yellow wires onto the red power cable and applied some solder. It's not pretty, but it works well.

How deep is the box? The description says its 14" but the details section say 8-5/16. Also could this be mounted sideways to fit under a seat?

It's 14.5" wide, 14.5" tall, and 8.3125" deep. It's meant to be installed upright, as shown, because of the woofer on one side and the passive radiator on the other.

8-5/16 IS Correct. I would not put it under a seat, it needs space for the sound to expand. If you do, put it under your girlfriends seat. It will create "the Harley effect", so get ready for that. Enjoy!

How much power can the Hi2 level safely receive if you're connecting to the sub through the speaker level input? Also, is it preferable to run all 4 channels or just 2 channels to the speaker level input?

The input sensitivity specs in the owner's manual for the high-level (or speaker-level) indicates 0.5V - 20V As for wiring, the owner's manual also states: "use speaker wire to connect the four speaker level inputs when using a head unit with four speaker-level outputs; if using a head unit with two channel speaker-level outputs, you can connect those to either the front or rear high-level input wires" For more details or to discuss further, please feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. Do not know the answer to the first question. I am currently running the subwoofer from the 2 rear channels speaker level inputs of the JBL head unit without any issue. My recommendation is not to turn the gain all the way up due to resulting distortion. Moderate gain until optimum sound is achieved. Subwoofer performs in an outstanding manner with just 2 channels to the speaker level input.

I just had a professional car audio place install this. The sub will play well when just running off the battery, key switched on, but engine not running. About 10 seconds after you start the car it will go into protection mode and turn off. The red light will come on. There is a switch in the unit for different power intake, but it will do the same thing on any of them. Could this be from when the alternator kicks in and it see's a different power level?

What is the height of the unit without the stand attached?
