The legend continues...

Infinity's reputation is legendary, but their Kappa Series car speakers don't rest on those laurels. Designed and built for audiophile tastes, these Kappa 62ix 6-1/2" speakers benefit from a refined design, Infinity's proprietary technology, and premium materials to deliver uncompromised audio quality.

Edge-driven dome tweeters

Infinity employs an edge-driven design in their soft dome tweeters for a smoother, more open response and minimal distortion at high volume. The UniPivot tweeter design means you can aim each tweeter toward your ears, so you'll enjoy excellent stereo imaging even if the speakers are mounted way down low in your doors. Each tweeter also features a level control button so you can adjust the brightness to your taste.

Woofers enhanced with Plus One+ technology

Bring on the bass. Kappa's glass fiber woofer will hold its shape when the power's cranked up, so you still get punchy and defined bass. Glass fiber weighs less than traditional materials, so you don't need a ton of power to drive this woofer either. Infinity's Plus One+ woofer technology extends the cone right up to the edge of the basket, giving you lots of surface area — and a bigger cone means more bass to complement the superior high-frequency response.

Awesome power handling, no matter the system

These 2.5-ohm speakers boast ultra-high sensitivity so that you can power them with a factory radio or aftermarket stereo, but you'll get your best results feeding them plenty of power from an outboard amp. Either way, these speakers' low impedance safely takes advantage of every watt of power available for exceptional performance. Enjoy Kappa sound quality at any volume. Grilles are included.

Product Research

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

High-Output Design: The high output 2.5Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring and extracts every watt from factory receivers, increasing overall system output and efficiency (relative to 4Ω speakers). The speakers also benefit from increased power when you upgrade the wire and add aftermarket amplifiers, designed to power a 2.5Ω load.

Edge Driven Dome Tweeters: Each speaker has an Edge-driven textile dome tweeter. Edge-driven tweeters have better dispersion characteristics and allow for a lower crossover frequency than typical tweeters of the same size, which improves imaging, vocals and musical clarity. The tweeter also has an output level switch; choose +0 dB (flat) or +3 dB.

UniPivot Tweeter: The tweeter is angled and can be rotated about 270° after installation. This allows you to direct the tweeters toward the listeners, useful for speakers mounted low in a door.

Mounting Applications: These speakers are marketed as 6-1/2"; they will fit in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings (approximately 5" diameter), but do not use the standard 6-1/2" speaker bolt pattern. In order to install them in standard 6-1/2" speaker openings you must drill new screw holes. If new holes are drilled in the mounting surface of the car, no bracket is needed. If drilling in the car is not an option, the included brackets can be used, which have standard 6-1/2" mounting holes and the Ford non-symmetric four hole pattern. When using the brackets the depth becomes 1.866" and the mounting height becomes 1.056".

Terminals: The input terminals are set screws that will accept up to 12 gauge bare wire.

I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado with a Alpine iLX-W650 in it, are these speakers considered a slight or moderate upgrade over OEM speakers?
[ Keith  Mar 13, 2021 ]

Moderate upgrade...very nice sound but don't handle a lot of bass....but a speaker that size is not built for bass
[ Marcus Scott  Mar 13, 2021 ]
The speakers are great they work better if you have them install to A amplifier. But if you are not running Amplifier Use a Less expensive speaker
[ ANGEL  Mar 13, 2021 ]
I consider them a moderate to major upgrade over OEM if you power them with an amplifier. I have them installed on my Harley touring, powered by an amp and they rock. I have had multiple friends that are into audio shocked by the clear noise output for just two speakers.
[ BRAYDEN  Mar 13, 2021 ]
Will these speakers fit the front doors in my 2012 Subaru Outback?
[ Kevin  Aug 10, 2020 ]

No idea! Search on crutchfield website
[ Alexander  Aug 11, 2020 ]
Other sites tell me these fit my Toyota Matrix 2004. The speakers are around the same size as other speakers I've looked at. Which is why I'm curious why it says it's incompatible. What does Crutchfield use to determine if it will fit or not?

My experience was similar to yours, After checking the clearance measurements I went ahead and ordered these and installed them in my 2015 Nissan. FYI, the difference for me was the overall height of the speaker was stated as 1/10 of inch to high but fit perfectly. Not sure what the return policy is if you go against the recommendation and it doesn't fit though.
[ Mitch  Feb 05, 2020 ]
I believe they are too deep to fit in the door.
[ Gregory  Feb 04, 2020 ]
Does this work with the factory tweeters in the 2007 grand prix (Monsoon system)?

You can check to see if this will fit your vehicle by using our Outfit My Car tool: For additional details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle.

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

will these run off a factory bose amp?
[ Jason  May 20, 2019 ]
7 answers
Bose tends to use crossovers that input to individual speakers in the array. So any other speakers tend to sound "funny"...
[ Gregory  Feb 04, 2020 ]
They will but limited by the bose amp. Have you ever noticed that you can only turn the factory head unit up so much. Thats not the head unit, its the amp it has a clipping circuit in it. But these will run no problem off the factory bose set up. But will be limited, i have them running off an alpine pdx-v9 and they are amazing.
[ Stephen  Jun 02, 2019 ]
Yes, usually, but it depends on what kind of sound and how much power you want in your car. The stock amp bose system you have in your car will do the job, and that's all. It will just turn the speakers on, and make them work. Don't get me wrong, your car stereo will sound good, pairing your infinity's with a stock Bose amp, but it's not the kind of sound I would want. That's honestly all your taste in music, and how you want your car stereo to sound.
[ Wyatt  May 31, 2019 ]
My guess is that they will do fine on the Bose factory amp, which should be higher power than a factory non-Bose amp that does fine up to about half max volume.
[ Emilio  May 30, 2019 ]
Bought these for a 2007 harley ultra classic . They should run fine on any amp though because they are low ohm speakers.
[ M  May 30, 2019 ]
Yes they should since they are 2.5 ohm with high sensitivity
[ Kelly  May 30, 2019 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
