Tough enclosure

Infinity's Primus 1270B loaded enclosure gives you the impact of a 12" subwoofer for the deep, hard-hitting bass you need. The sealed box is optimized for its subwoofer to guarantee the best possible performance, while black carpet protects the tough 5/8" medium-density fiberboard enclosure so it'll look good for years to come. The sub's polypropylene cone and rubber surround handle high power levels with minimal distortion, and the stamped steel frame gives this sub a firm foundation. The speaker's 4-ohm impedance is compatible with a wide range of amplifiers.

To drive this enclosure, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 225 and 450 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Great bang per buck

Not really a fan of sealed boxes but I thought I would try it. Added this to a 2018 Altima stock system with the help of audio control's LC2i and MTX's Thunder500.1 amp. Whole car is filled with the bass I was missing at low volume crisp and loud at 3/4 volume with hardly any gain set on the amp.

Pros: Best <$300 sub I have ever had. Clear crisp bass.

Cons: Base of enclosure could be deeper to make it harder to rock around. But can be overcome with a wedge on front side.

I just hooked this up and I'm very impressed by the performance for the little amount of money.

Pros: Less than $200 and you definitely can't tell from the way it performs.

Cons: None so far

Features

Driver: The Infinity Primus loaded subwoofer enclosure features an Infinity Primus 1270B 12" subwoofer driver capable of handling 300 watts RMS (1200W peak). The heavy-duty 4 ohm subwoofer includes a stamped-steel frame and a rugged 2" diameter voice-coil that's been designed for daily use. A polypropylene cone and rubber surround provide deep powerful bass with minimal distortion.

Enclosure: The Infinity Primus 1270B enclosure has been designed for optimal use with the installed 1270B subwoofer driver. Made of 5/8" MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and covered in black carpet, the enclosure provides a solid foundation for the subwoofer driver, even at high volumes. Two steel bars are included that act as the "grille". These simply slip into the provided holes on the enclosure, protecting the driver from bumps and dings.

Terminals: Connection to the Primus 1270B subwoofer enclosure is done through a pair of threaded posts on the rear that can accept speaker wire up to 12 AWG.

Q
What amp is best for the Prius 1270b. I have a kenwood 8150d mono but it doesn't seem to pair very well as I believe the kenwood is better with a 2 ohm load. With the sub being svc 4 ohm im wondering which type of amp would be better?

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
