Makes a big improvement in sound quality. only need a very slight modification on the divers side - trimmed plastic in dash - speaker magnet hits it. It would push down but I wanted to trim it.

Great clarity, they're loud even without an amp. I bought these speakers because they were the only speaker I could find to fit the dash of my VW Van. They fit great right under the stock speaker grill. They add a lot of mids and bottom. I love them! They really blew away every other speaker in the van. Im so impressed with the reference infinites that I bought a set for the door and a couple subs to go under the the hide a bed.
Pros: Great fit and sound quality.
Cons: They sound so good you'll have to upgrade all your other speakers to match these great components

Great sounding speaker at a great price. Dropped right in to a 2016 Ram 2500 dash and made an instant and very noticeable improvement to the soundstage and adds a bit more warmth to the sound as well. If you have a stock system and want a quick win, put these in. It's a 10 minute job.
Pros: Easy install. Great sound. Bass filter included.

Good speaker, no wiring provided
Jeff from Modesto, CA on 12/28/2020
2019 Ford F-150 Lariat
Good sounding speakers, clean and crisp. Installed as a center dash speaker in my 2019 F150. I only needed 1, so I guess I now have a spare! My only complaint is that Infinity provided no wiring whatsoever. I don't usually expect a factory harness, but they didn't even provide the basic crimp style wiring to the speaker that I could splice to. They also provided a capacitor to block bass, but didn't install it. You have to solder it to the positive terminal yourself. Strange Infinity didn't do this for you already and crazy they didn't provide any wiring.
Pros: Clean, crisp sound
Cons: No wiring at all provided and user must solder capacitor on to main terminal before use.

Great quality sound.
Crutchfield customer from El Paso, TX on 12/20/2020
2019 Toyota Camry
The sound is wonderful in comparison with the stock speakers. With these speakers you can hear the high violin notes and the clarity is impressive (Django Festival All Star; El Dorado). The installation was not easy with the included instructions. There are 4 wires to the speaker and it has to have the connector for the door speaker to work. I remove the connector from the original speaker and put the capacitor that was included in the box (which by the way I almost thru away). Then I put everything together inside a baby sock so it would not make noise. I use them for a Toyota Camry 2019 with basic sound.
Pros: Great sound Good price

The volume from these speakers were significantly less than the other factory speakers. The factory speaker had a 4 ohm impedance, but even though these Infinity speakers measured less than 4 ohms, that did not result in a higher volume. The volume was too imbalanced between these aftermarket speakers and the factory JBL system. Sadly, I had to uninstall them.

2018 Ram 1500
Awesome sound out of these little guys. Running (3) in the dash of my 2018 Ram 1500. These are pulling power direct from the factory head unit. I choice these for there high sensitivity and lower ohm ratings. Also can't go wrong with Infinity speakers. Highs and mids are crisp and clear and I didn't lose any volume because of the lower resistance of these speakers. Factory speakers where spec'ed at 2 ohm, these are 3 ohm. Minor jump that is hidden by the higher sensitivity rating.
Pros: Infinity name and quality Power Low resistance Sound quality
Cons: None

Installed in a 20118 Toyota Highlander XLE (non JBL) and was a significant improvement over the stock speakers. Note: these speakers are not "plug and play" as they require the replacement of the plug connector on the vehicle's wiring harness to be replaced by wire connecters not provided in the kit. Crutchfield's tech support provide good support in identifying wire connections (Four wires in the plug which needed to be attached to positive/negative speaker terminals).
Pros: Huge improvement over stock speakers when used with stock receiver. Speakers are a perfect fit.
Cons: Installation requires some minor wire stripping, splicing and crimping to replace factory wire connector (not overly difficult).

2019 Subaru Forester Front Dash Install Not Easy
Crutchfield customer from Oakland Gardens, NY on 12/11/2020
So these speakers were not easy to install. First, you will need to figure out HOW to connect the speakers to the car audio wires since there is no compatible wiring harness. I used ANY wiring harness, cut off the plastic housing and spliced this in. NOTE: You need to connect the in-line bipolar capacitor (yes, you must solder it) to the positive side of your rigged wiring harness, otherwise at high frequencies, when you turn up the volume, the speakers will have a "popping" sound. WHY did Infinity Reference NOT just have this pre-installed if it is needed?!? Now, due to the angle of the windshield, I had to purchase the Milwaukee right angle drill adapter (this was my only way to get at the screws here) to take off the OEM dash speakers. You will then have to splice in the rigged wiring harness with capacitor, to the car audio wires. No one tells you this, but on the driver's side, the Purple color wire is positive and on the passenger side, the blue wire is positive for my Subaru Forester. NOTE: the car audio wires were TIGHT - you have to remove the clip holding the car's wires just so you can get to the wires, strip the sheathing and splice in your rigged wiring harness. Also, the positive and negative wires from the car are not the same gauge, so you have to be careful when stripping the wires. After the wiring, installing the speakers back into the dash was not drop in, you must play with the positioning so the screws line up and the speakers fit. Now I enjoy.
Pros: Sound, Much better than OEM speakers
Cons: Capacitor, No compatible wiring harness, Lack of Installation Information, Not Plug N Play, Tight working conditions.

so i exchanged the 3-1/2" Kenwood KFC-X3C, for these infinity's you are looking at. Keep in mind i only have about 25w rms between my aftermarket head unit and factory amp. I am much happier with these than i was with the kenwoods, the kenwoods would be superior in every way if they were properly driven with an amp. so dont pick these if you plan on having an amp as it will overpower them will sound like crap, for sure. These speakers are amazing! a littler louder than my factory lexus speakers while retaining clarity at high volumes. I got them on sale but i wouldve paid full price for these if i had known earlier on. i put them inside a 3-1/2 baffle which is extremely important for smaller speakers. dont get the full length baffle, get the slim-line 1-3/4" because the magnets wont fit inside the full length one. i know from experience :) sound quality: They have very efficient and well balanced mids and highs that are not too crisp. After buying any new speaker, you must take the time to adjust your settings in the equalizer and crossovers to achieve the sound you desire. it makes a difference between keeping and returning your speakers. i also have the 6-1/2 reference speakers in my doors and these are just the perfect and most efficient speakers you could get for this price range. Look no further
Pros: low impedance, high quality
Cons: didnt buy these sooner

Great Sound
Crutchfield customer from Gainesville, VA on 10/23/2020
These speakers sound so much better than the stock speakers in my 2020 Subaru Forester Sport. These are the dash speakers. There is a good video online for installation of these. These come with a capacitor that has to be used on the positive side of the connection (larger plug). I used wire nuts to make the connections. These speakers don't come with a wiring harness. I ordered a wiring harness from Crutchfield that I used to plug into the speaker terminals (positive & negative). I cut off the plug on the other end of the harness so that I could use the wiring after stripping the ends and used small wire nuts to make the connections with the vehicle wiring. Then I covered with electrical tape. I bought a racket wrench/tool to remove the speaker screws. Worked perfectly in that tight space (see photo). I used the pry tool kit from Crutchfield to remove the speaker covers. Worked perfectly. Don't be a bull in a china cabinet, use finesse.

Direct fit in factory speaker holes, no modifications were needed. The sound and the clarity that these speakers produce over factory speakers is 100% better. I can hear voice and music sounds more crisp, and I don't have to have the volume up quite as high as I use to with factory speakers. Definitely worth the modest investment for the upgrade with factory radio with no amplifier. The speaker wire adapters that Crutchfield sent with the speakers is a most definite must have for the install.

Stock speakers MUCH louder despite the efficiency of these speakers. The clarity of these speakers is better than stock, but not so much that I would recommend getting them. Installed in 2018 Outback with Harman system. These speakers would likely be a better upgrade with the base radio, not a tremendous difference from Harman speakers. Also, unable to line up speaker to factory mounting points in right dash location so it is basically just laying in there. However, very easy to install (so much easier than taking doors off). I did not use crossovers they came with and don't seem to have any problems. It is possible that the Harman system was cutting off low frequencies anyway as the door speakers are (sub)woofers.
Pros: Good clarity
Cons: Not as loud as stock

Great but a few issues.
Crutchfield customer from Berwick, PA on 4/12/2020
I bought these to replace the dash speakers in a 2019 renegade. The highs these speakers make are overwhelming I had to set the treble to -1 to smooth them out, however these speakers shine at bringing the mid bass frequencies to the for front if you can tame the highs, if you have a subwoofer you will notice a huge difference with the sounds of drums and a bass guitar. These speakers are quite a bit more sensitive (guessing on this point) but they definitely play louder than the factory junk did so something to consider if you are not replacing all the speakers which I will eventually do, because of this issue things can sometimes sound a little weird like the rest of the stereo can't keep up with the dash speakers, although sound quality is vastly improved overall with just swapping the dash speakers, but after having them in the dash for a week or so I wish I would have just replaced all six speakers at the same time instead of trusting the forums that say the dash speaker replacement is good enough. Overall they are great speakers if you can get the high frequencies under control.
Pros: Seem well built, reasonably priced, make the mids come alive
Cons: High frequencies can be overwhelming, some soldering required for the capacitor

Pros: Well made
Cons: None for now.

No clear instructions for the capacitors
Crutchfield customer from Durham, NC on 4/6/2020
1989 Ford Mustang
Great speakers, but instructions are not helpful. I do not have a pre-amp so the package included two capacitors hidden at the bottom of the styrofoam packaging. Upon further review, I did notice that the instructions have a little picture showing the capacitor in parallel with the positive speaker connector, but otherwise I could find no further explanation in the instructions. I did check the internet and discover they are for bass suppression (I think) and then installed them between the Ford OEM wiring and the speaker connections. I didn't see any mention of the capacitors on the Crutchfield instructions either. I can't be the only one who was confused by the lack of clear instructions.

Great sound quality with factory receiver. These little 3.5" speakers perform better than the 6.5" and 6x9 infinity references. No amplifier required to achieve max potential. Clean and crisp. I removed the wiring and harness connectors from the factory speakers and soldered them to these speakers. Did not have to cut or splice the factory wiring by doing this.

Tiny dash speakers that make a very large sound improvement
Crutchfield customer from Holly Springs, NC on 4/2/2020
Fit the front dash of my 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Plus with no issues. Didn't even need the bracket adapters, just used factory holes. From these 2 little speakers replacing the stock in-dash models, there is enough sound improvement to notice it almost as soon as you put something on. Having spent years driving with the stock speakers, your ears are greeting with more resolution and more detail. The highs are bright at first, but my settings were changed to accommodate the old factory speakers. Re-calibrating the treble, bass and mid-range on the stock head unit brings much joy to your ears. There is even a better/tighter thump that was non-existent before with the stock speakers. Bang for buck, replace your Dodge Challenger dash speakers ASAP. These were well worth the money and I wish I did it sooner. These will NOT need much more power being the stock unit and speakers are 2 ohm, these work being between 2 and 4. If these were $100/pair, I'd still buy them having heard them now.

Great Speakere Upgrade for a Reasonable Price
Crutchfield customer from River Ridge, LA on 3/23/2020
I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited & had a poor sounding JBL GreenEedge audio system. I purchased these Infinity speakers to upgrade my dash speakers. The speakers fit perfectly as Crutchfield said they would even though they are quite larger than the stock JBL GreenEdge speakers. When I 1st turned on my sound system after the installation, I could hardly hear my speakers even though I had the balance all the way to the front of my vehicle. Needles to say, I was disappointment as these were supposed to sound louder & clearer. I then adjusted the balance slightly back a little bit at a time & to my surprise, the speakers "Came Alive". It has to due with the way Toyota has their balance of the system set up. As you move the balance point rearward, the front speakers become louder so the rear passengers can hear them. These speakers sound fantastic. You can hear each instrument & it is very surprising how much base comes from these little 3" speakers, even with the supplied base blockers installed. I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants a quick way to upgrade their stock system at a very reasonable price. One thing that I still have to address is the speaker grill covers for the Highlander (Stock Highlander not Infinity grill covers) as they have a small section of them drilled for the sound to exit. this blocks some of the great sound from these speakers. Again, that is a Toyota issue & even then these speaker still outperform the stock speakers by miles.

Sounds good but the install was not as straight-forward as it could have been. A hole had to be bored into the side of the speaker casing to accommodate the new orientation of the speaker connectors. They did not align with the original if I wanted to use the existing screw positions. Also the magnet is much larger making for a tight fit leaving almost no room for the wires. Otherwise, they're installed and making the noises I want them to make.
Pros: Good sound
Cons: No grilles to match the rest of the Reference set.

Replacing all three front speakers makes a hugh difference in sound quality. It is too bad these speakers are not available as singles for those of us with an odd number of speakers.

I call Crutchfield and they immediately told me the best speakers to get on a budget for my vehicle. I received in 2 days and when I installed the different in the quality in sound was amazing. Very clear, but a little bass heavy. I didn't pay attention to the capacitors that I was told to use and threw them away. I call Crutchfield and they sent me out 2 bass blockers to use at no charge. 2019 Jeep Wrangler (JL)
Sounds good but does not not necessarily direct fit a 2019 JL Jeep Wrangler. You will need to bend or cut off a portion of the mounting tabs to get the speaker to drop into the factory location. Easy to do but worth mentioning. The factory location also has many gaps/openings so I will be looking to get speaker baffles to seal up more of the area to keep the speaker from possibly cancelling out sound with it not being more sealed. Otherwise, sounds good and adds crispness to the sound. It does add a little more high frequencies than expected and does seem a little out of balance in the Jeep if only upgrading these specific location and no other area.
Pros: Good price when on sale. Added sound clarity.
Cons: Not direct fit on JL Jeep without modifying the mounting tabs but not hard at all. A little more highs than expected compared to the rest of the system if not replacing anything else.

Woow! What a difference in sound quality from stock speakers. I installed these in the dash of my 2018 Ram 1500 Crew Cab in 15-20 mins. Easy install. I thought about upgrading to add a subwoofer and amps, but after installing new Infinity speakers in all doors and replacing these dash speakers, I don't think I need to. I don't know what kind of factory power my Ram puts out, I assume around 15 watts per channel or so, but with these high sensitivity speakers you don't really need to upgrade to a new amp, unless of course you want to go deaf! the 6 factory stock speakers on the 2019 Subaru Impreza premium sedan were probably intended to be replaced with these. After switching to these I no longer had buyers remorse or envy for other vehicles with premium sound systems, and I hadn't even upgraded the factory stock radio yet.
Pros: Significant sound improvement vs the throwaway stock speakers included with the Subaru
Cons: Unlike the front and rear door speakers, these don't have a mounting harness adapter for the Subaru factory connector. You either have to splice/solder the wires yourself, which isn't too hard. I just solder tipped the wires and jammed them into the Subaru factory connector which works fine. These tweeters are a little larger so it was slightly challenging to fit these into the original slot, but they do fit if you're precise and careful.

2008 Dodge vs factory infinity
Mark from Wright City, MO on 2/14/2019
2008 Dodge Ram 1500
Compared to stock infinity dash speakers I'm a bit confused on how to answer. First the stock infinity's have a slightly bigger magnet. Much more mid and overall volume/loudness is not really noticeable as a before and after. Now don't get me wrong, these speakers are much more crisp so you could say cleaner. Not as much mid which tends to sound a bit muffled anyways, as the stock oems do. The speakers themselves appear very well built. I readjusted the fade from the rear back to a neutral setting. With the rest of my truck outfitted with the kappa line these are a very, very pleasing accoutrement! The whole truck is crystal clear and can handle volumes not possible with the factory speakers. So if you are adding these speakers just be aware depending on what you have or upgrade from, to have a balanced audio platform you will need subwoofers. Crutchfield has some very good deals so I have no choice but to bite the bullet. Oh darn. Thanks crutchfield!
Pros: Clarity, ability to balance well with other speakers for a complete sound system
Cons: Comparing with what I replaced, possibly a little light on the mids. Although with subwoofers I seriously doubt any cons.

Excellent speaker and it's changed my whole opinion of my entire stereo system because of the new Clarity and brightness. If you're thinking about going for it do it you won't be sorry.
Pros: High quality sound

Wonderful speakers; Way Better Than Stock
NUKE from Dallas, TX on 12/2/2018
2012 Dodge Charger
Outstanding replacement speakers for those tired, worn out 3.5" dash speakers in Dodge's LX cars. Depending upon other speakers being left as stock or not, you may find that these produce such a good sound that they are the most prominent speakers in the car now. I adjusted the LOC channel on which they are powered, so that was only an issue to deal with for a few minutes for me. Once I reduced the output level on the LOC device for these speakers' channels, the sound coming from my mostly stock system is great. These speakers are a wonderful improvement over the stock ones in the LX cars' dash corners. I am also pushing these speakers with an amp, so adjusting the channel of a LOC powering them to give the speakers slightly less jucie is one way to address these speakers being too prominent in the car's audis setup

Great little speakers! However, they were not a perfect fit for the dash of the 2018 JL Wrangler. Slight modification to the bracket and they fit fine. They fit in the sound bar but i had to drill new holes. Sound is awesome for highs and I didn't restrain the bass so that has improved overall in the car.
Pros: almost perfect fit, super easy install, sounds amazing
Cons: almost perfect fit

Infinity Is Great! Not the low-end reference Series
John from Eugene, OR on 11/19/2018
2016 Mazda 6
Speakers fit perfectly in the dash of my 2016 Mazda 6. They sounded really good running off the deck power. Within 2 hours of total listening time and not going to my max volume, they are starting to crackle and pop. My stock deck probably puts out 10-15 watts. These seem like they can not handle that low of a wattage. I got these on sale and not worth returning them. I'll just move on to a different brand. It's a shame since I LOVE Infinity gear. Should have not bought the low-end Reference series. Please, do not by the reference series, I think Infinity's WAY better at quality at the higher end of their product line like the Kappa series.
Pros: Sounded great Looks Awesome Great Build Material
Cons: Can't handle 10-15watts without blowing (stock Mazda Stereo)

Perfect BRZ dash and rear panel replacement speakers
Crutchfield customer from Urbana, OH on 8/21/2018
I installed these along with Polk door woofers in my Subaru BRZ. I wanted to retain the factory head unit and wiring harness to minimize my labor and retain the stock look. These 2-ways are almost exactly the same size as the factory 90mm speakers and all I had to do was make my own brackets to install in the dash and lightly modify the rear panel brackets to install them. The speakers included 270uF capacitors for high pass filters that I used on the dash, but weren't needed on the rear panels since the HU already bass blocks those. I was able to retain the stock wiring on the dash by jumpering the 4-pin tweeter connector and I found that the connects for the rear speakers were mirror images of the supplied wiring adapters. Oh well, a little re-engineering made everything right. Now, after installing the woofers in the doors, I have an awesome sound system that is light years better than the factory system ...and all I had to do was replace the speakers and adjust the equalizer.

At first I was hesistant seeing as they were on sale and typically hints at a low seller. Upon receiving them and getting them in dash, I immediately noticed a clearer better quality of sound than the other brand that was removed!
Pros: Great sound. Great price. Easy to install!
Cons: Gold trim ring reflects onto windshield at times with sunlight.

I have been running these speakers for a week or so, and they sound great. Everything is clean, bright, and crunchy. Initially, I was not looking to spend money at this price point for my dash speakers, but am now glad I did...kinda. Of course, Crutchfield knocked off the price once I bought a set. Just my luck, but oh well, I got me a bad set of 3.5s.
Pros: -Clear -Crisp -Powerful
Cons: -Makes your factory speakers look like rubbish

Big improvement in 2011 Highlander
Ron from Vinton, VA on 3/29/2018
I had to do something about the factory 2 1/2" dash speakers in my 2011 Highlander and decided on the 3 1/2" Infinity speakers. No, it isn't a "bolt-in" replacement. I had to make room for this speaker so that meant cutting the hole larger and bending some metal out of the way. I also had to recess the speaker a bit so that the rubber surround wouldn't interfere with the factory speaker cover. If you remove too much material from the mounting area, then you cannot effectively secure the speaker into the dash. Also, keep in mind that because you must remove plastic from the speaker mounting area, you destroy the old 2 1/2 inch speaker mounts so there's no going back. I finally completed my installation today after trying and thinking about different mounting methods. Now, my dash speakers don't sound so muddy. The midrange is much improved and a crash cymbal comes in good and clear. Vehicle info: 2011 Toyota Highlander Limited with JBL sound system and navigation system. I'm not going to mess with the head unit or any amplifiers because I like it the way it is. Aftermarket speakers will make a difference in sound quality. The problem with the factory system is that the factory system already has a crossover. Mounting a 2-way or 3-way speaker in the door is useless - no mids or highs will pass through. And yes, you can get component speakers, mount the woofers in the doors and tweeters in the dash and lose midrange. The Infinity 3 1/2 inch speakers fit the bill.
Pros: Better midrange and highs
Cons: Not a direct replacement for a 2011 Highlander but that isn't the speakers' fault.

William from Newport, NC on 3/22/2018
2010 Dodge Ram 1500
I upgraded all the speakers in my 2010 Ram (without the Alpine Radio). These were the last of my upgrade and the most dramatic change. These fit perfectly in the factory location WITHOUT using the supplied foam. Crutchfield supplied the correct adapter, so they were truly plug and play. Paired with the 2-way Infinity 6x9's I installed all the way in both the front and rear doors, I get a must cleaner and full sound with incredible highs and lows even with my low powered factory radio. I have bought Infinity products before and have never been disappointed.
Pros: Easy fit, quality product, great midrange and highs!
Cons: ALMOST too bright, pricey for such a small speaker but you get what you pay for!
