THE CLARITY IS NUTS. These speakers sound so perfect it's ridiculous I only paid $75 a pair. Fantastic sound quality and work just fine off a built-in 20w stereo amp. I personally paired them with a 12" sub and my sound quality is CRYSTAL CLEAR. Budget friendly but also a quality product. 10/10 would recommend.

Pros: Sound quality Price

Sounds great in my 2003 Infiniti G35 with Stock Bose Amp. Super clear accurate sound and good bass. Crutchfield made the install so easy. I'm honestly so glad I bought it from Crutchfield because they included wiring harnesses and speaker mounts that just fit perfectly and saved me so much time and hassle. Buying speakers isn't easy, but using this website it's about as easy as it could possibly get. Great job Crutchfield. I'll be back to buy tweeters and a full system for my house eventually.

Pretty much the same speaker as the stock speakers found in my Honda Element. Slightly better bass response, but a lacking in mid definition and they have a really awful hyped presence; making them sound very brittle. Would not by again.

Pros: Slightly better bass response than stock speakers Easy installation

Cons: Hyped presence (presumably from the cheap tweeter), brittle sound Missing mids Cheaply made, same build quality as stock speakers.

Look at others rather a Infinity speakers

Glenn from Fargo, ND on 9/24/2020

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Received the infinity REF-6532ex, Infinity Primus PR5010cs, and Kicker 47KSC2704 speakers for my 2017 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro crewmax hoping to improve the sound. I also have coming an infinity PRIMUS6004AAM amp. I have been doing my own car stereo systems as a teenager from the 70's. I removed all of the OEM speaker to prepare for my upgrade. Had not received the amp yet. Only had time to Install the infinity REF-6532EX in the front door. They sound like crap. No improvement from the basic OEM speaker that we just horrible. Very high pitch, tinny sound. A couple of days latter had time to install the Kickers in the dash corners. WOW...They are awesome. For little things they out perform the infinity's. Very impressive little speakers. Crisp and clean. Hoping to get to the rear door speakers and amp this weekend. My opinion of the infinity REF-6532ex is they suck. In all my years of DIY systems, I have always been fortunate in ending up with some great tunes, but these infinity's are a big disappointment, especially for the name and cost. Hope the ones for the rear doors don't suck also. I will never consider infinity again. I will say that the Kickers lived up to their expectations. Very great sound. For now they help drowned out the poor sound of the infinity's until I get time to work on the system. So in short, look at others such as the reliable pioneer or Polk speakers. The more I have research, the more I find that infinity is not that great of a car audio speaker.

Pros: NONE

Cons: No better than the Toyota OEM. Very high pitch and distorted sound.

2020 Nissan Rogue

2020 Nissan Rogue

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I love these speakers. I found them to have plenty of bass and an amazing amount of clarity. Of course they're not going to boom like a subwoofer but then, what 6.5" door speakers would? For me, the definition of the sound is most important and these speakers really are a cut above anything else I've used in this price range. I was fortunate that the Nissan Rogue already has sound proofing behind the door panels which really helps. I think the differences in the design of each vehicle greatly impacts the quality of the sound, especially the bass. Thank you Crutchfield for the fast order processing and for including the mounting brackets and connection adapters. The fit perfectly.

Pros: Affordable Sound great

Great sounding speakers. Very easy to install. Frequency range stops at 57hz and like others have stated, they lack in the low end. Not much bass at all. If you have a sub these would be the perfect speakers for your system.

The tweeters do not pivot on this model! I was really looking forward to having the tweeters pivot and have the +3db button for the tweeters because of the factory location of the speakers. Partially my fault but customer support told me this model would have the pivoting tweeters. Other than that I'm a huge infinity guy! I still like these speakers and they sound great! I I put these in the back of a 2005 Silverado crew cab and the install was easy. I truly think infinity has the best bang for your buck when it comes to sound quality compared to the price tag.

Pros: Great sound quality!

Cons: Was a little miss lead on product description and I was hoping to have the model with the movable tweeter

Overall pleased with the purchase. I only replaced the rear door speakers on a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The speakers were a subtle improvement, not a big WOW improvement. Bass response seemed better, not the washed out sound from the stock speakers. Tweeters were smoother with more clarity. Ninth generation Honda civic coupe EXL. Big difference from the factory speakers. My kid always asked me to turn down the stereo. Main reason was factory speakers were so muffled sounding. Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Great speakers for factor 3rd gen Tacoma. These pair nicely with the 6x9's. I was considering adding an amp (I'm sure it would make these things really shine) for most people it most likely isn't necessary. I've tried a few different speakers and these by far are my favorite drop ins. Bass isn't comparable to a sub but it isn't lacking, mids are strong and highs aren't crystal clear but sufficient. I would suggest messing with your EQ to your liking based on your preferences. Keep in mind, this is a 2 way and not a component system. Overall, worth the money

Pros: Great sound, quality and looks.

Am excellent upgrade from the stock speakers in my 2016 Subaru. No issues with sizing, and Crutchfield included hardware worked perfectly. Unfortunately, this limits my options of what I can do with the vehicle, such as being unable to install a sub or veh modifications. However, they do allow plug and play speakers as long as there is no vehicle modifications. I purchased the REF-9633ix for the front doors of the Tahoe and the REF-6532ex for the rear doors. First, to highlight Crutchfield, shipping was very fast / install was a breeze. CF providing GM direct adapters for the wiring harness and mounting brackets were a life saver. This mere factor made it worth buying through CF as these are provided for free. As far as speaker performance, the LS speakers are pure hot garbage. OEM head unit can push these just fine. So the clarity and mid/high ranges were a significant improvement over the OEMs. However, as many of you have read in reviews before, if you can front the cost of a small sub it would be worth the additional investment. The bass was actually a bit more present in the LS OEM speakers. When listening to a bass drum in rock music, its very mellow and tame (This is with the bass EQ turned to max).. Oddly enough, I occasionally list to EDM and the bass hits hard to the point a passenger thought I had a small 8-10 inch somewhere. However, this is only a select few songs. If you are looking for a full range you will absolutely need to compliment with 8-10 for modest, 12 to push

Pros: -Great price for a decent speaker in the rear doors -Very easy install with provided CF accessories and install kit(s)

Cons: -As with any 6.5 speaker without a sub, low range is limited

Took the advice of the Crutchfield Rep's and chose the Infinity Reference line for the replacement speakers for my stock head unit. The Rep's were exactly right about the increase in clarity and much cleaner sound produced by the Reference speakers. Such a HUGE difference in the sound of my stock 2 ohm system.

Pros: Super crisp and clean sound.

The speakers are very responsive to my factory Honda head unit. I still need an amp just not as loud as I would like. Bass is decent but not where I'd like it but I bought these for clarity and to be louder than the pitiful factory ones. So that's why I give it four out of five.

Pros: Really high clear treble and balance really well.

Cons: Bass is less than spectacular.

First and foremost Crutchfield technical assistance was Awesome. I was a bit dissapointed with the Speaker replacement. This speaker lacks the Bass needed to offset the high treble sound. It just does not give a balanced sound. For my application, I did not want to change out my radio and add an amp, I wanted to switch out failing equipment as an even swap. This did not happen.

Speakers sound great. Giving 4 stars because the Infinity instructions are useless and it's not very clear what items you're supposed to be using out of the package. Thank god for Crutchfield support! If you're also installing these in the dash of a JK Wrangler, it is time consuming to get the drivers side done. Know this before diving in and take your time. The size of the speaker casing it absurd and a pain in the butt to remove and even worse to get back in to place. Drivers side may take you a few hours. Passenger side took me about 20 mins.

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

2015 Honda Civic Sedan LX - I bought these to replace my factory speakers. I did a lot of research looking at Crutchfield, etc. looking for what would work best with my factory head unit. Each had their own brands but selected these because the reviews are good. The specs are great and the sell price included free mount adapters and harnesses. Other stores can charge up to $30 for these. The description on Crutchfield has been updated since I bought these to tamp down a bit of the 3 ohm spec in the literature. These are listed as 3 ohm but they are actually what they call a True 4 ohm. I called Harmon direct and they admitted it was a marketing thing. Having said that......I measured the speaker itself at 3.2 ohms. My Honda factory pioneers measured 3.5. The speaker runs obviously add impedance so basically the same. These speakers are so much better than the stock speakers. You do have to modify the rear deck and door panels. I used a utility knife on the rear deck and it worked fine. It took me about 30 min to mod both sides. When I did the front doors I used a Dremel tool w/cutting wheel and that worked much better and took 5 min total for both door panels. Use the slowest speed possible to keep the cutting disc from walking. I am very satisfied with these speakers using only my factory head unit. My car is the LX so no factory sub or component speakers. Just four 6 1/2 speakers. I hope this is helpful.

Pros: Sound GREAT!!!!!

Cons: You do have to modify all of the panels where these speakers go. The rear deck was kind of a pain removing the side panels to even get to the rear deck but hey that's what YouTube is for. Plenty of videos to watch that help. Front doors not so bad. Borrow a Dremel tool if you don't have one. Although, you can read above where I used a utility knife on two. It just took longer.

Speakers sound great. For installation in 2002 Subaru legacy you can't mount these to the factory speaker mount like the instructions indicate. These speakers do come with cheap adaptors of there own, but you'll likely have to use some foam to fill in the gaps between mounts and the door if you use these.

Pros: Great sounding speakers. Come with mounting adaptors which help with installation.

Cons: Not compatible with 2002 Subaru legacy factory speaker mounts as indicated on Crutchfield instructions. Speaker mounting adaptors are cheap and leave gaps in-between door and adaptors.

Interestingly this web page says these speakers don't fit my vehicle however they were recommended by a Crutchfield employee and I currently have them installed in that car. Hmmm...anyway they have good clarity in the mids to highs, but the low end is lacking. Not an issue when running a sub with them and I'm sure they will come to life a little more once I get them hooked up to a 4 channel amp. The tabs for connecting the leads are a bit flimsy, but construction of the speakers is quality and overall they seem to be a solid value

Pros: Clean highs and mids, quality materials/construction

Cons: Lacking in low end response, flimsy connection tabs

2014 Kia Optima

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I upgraded the front door speakers in my Optima with these Infinitys. These speakers provide more detail, a much wider soundstage, and deeper and tighter bass compared to the muddy bass from the stock speakers. These speakers are being driven by my aftermarket Pioneer head unit, and do not need additional power. BTW if you can't replace your stock head unit, consider getting an amp with these speakers. My stock paper speakers went from unacceptable sound with the stock HU to workable when being driven off of the Pioneer. These Infinitys did need a bass boost in my EQ, as the un-EQed sound was bright to the point of being shrill. After that adjustment, they have sounded pretty good. Finally, if the music you listen to relies on sub-bass like rap, you will still need a subwoofer to fill in that part of the spectrum.

Pros: wider soundstage, greater detail, much better bass

Replaced the worn out Bose speakers in my 08 Escalade. They are a good impedance match, maximum volume wasn't perceptibly affected. The sound is great for the price and stock amp. I purchased during the Black Friday sale. I consider these a slight upgrade to new stock, best for replacing worn out speakers. If you are building a system with aftermarket amps, you can do better.

Decent Speakers

2006 Subaru Outback

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

After pretty extensive research, I bought these to replace the rear speakers in my Subaru Outback. The rear stock speakers lacked clarity, and even though it's only "fill" sound, I wanted the clarity for my rear passengers. First off, of all the mounting materials sent, nothing worked except for the wire harnesses. I ended up tearing the stock speakers out of their brackets, and drilling the new speakers into those stock brackets. The speakers themselves sound pretty good. The clarity is there, and they don't sound too harsh. I know they're shallow, but I do wish they had a tad more bass. For bass heavy music, they're honestly not as great as I expected from reviews. I also wish they were a little louder, but I think that's due to my stock head unit sending little power to the rear speakers. Overall, these are way better than my stock rear speakers, and I'm still happy with the Harman brand. The price tag seems too high. I was able to buy them for half that, and at that price I'd say they're totally worth it.

Pros: Clear without being too harsh

Cons: Bass could be better

This is a great set of speakers, I listen to rock music and it sounds great on them. Sound is very clear even with the bass, directions for install do vary per vehicle and I had to get a couple extra things from ace hardware to finish the installation of the speakers. Plus instructions for installation are horrible but that's not the speakers fault

Cons: Horrible installation instructions

I bought these based on the reviews for my Kia Soul. Got to say they are not what I expected from the reviews. I installed them on the rear doors. I installed these in Front Doors and Rear Deck of my 2003 Toyota Prius. Metra 82-8148 speaker mounting brackets required modifications on front doors to be usable. I used 3M Strip Caulk to seal between door panel and Metra. This provided acceptable installation for the front doors. On the Rear Deck, the Metra brackets were totally unusable. The good news is that the mounting brackets provided by Infinity facilitated proper installation with minor modification. Metra 72-8104 Speaker Wiring Harnesses worked fine on front and rear speakers. As for the speakers themselves, they sounded considerably better that the Toyota factory speakers with the Toyota Factory radio. I installed the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X702 and the speakers sounded considerably better. I am a 75YO with a preference to HD Radio stations with Smooth Jazz, Regular Jazz, Contemporary Christian, Hard Rock, etc.

Pros: Excellent clarity, high frequency. Good bass Good quality Excellent mounting brackets

Replaced all four factory speakers with these. Huge difference! To describe it in one word I would say clean. Everything sounds better from cleaner bass to crisp highs. One of the biggest differences I noticed was how good certain instruments sounded especially in some country songs. Very full and natural. My car had a factory subwoofer so I wasn't concerned with bass. These are excellent speakers and I would highly recommend them. I'll probably buy my girlfriend a set for Christmas!

Clean and clear

2019 Honda Accord Sport

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

These speakers changed my car completely. The stock speakers in my 2019 Honda Accord Sport are HORRIFIC. Being a professional musician and audio engineer, sound is extremely important to me, so I needed something that could completely satisfy my thirst for incredibly clear sound. In the same vein, however, I only spend a total of 40 minutes in my car per day, so I wasn't looking to break my bank with extremely expensive speakers. These Infinity Reference 6532's were the answer to all my issues. They are clear, crisp, and can be run extremely loud even without an amp. My car currently has 4 of these magnificent woofers inside of it, and I haven't been disappointed a single time with their performance. To give an example of their clarity, when listening to music that has a defined and prominent piano mic'd, you can actually hear the pedal lifting and falling off of the strings inside of it. That's incredible to me. The frequency response is fantastic, from 57 all the way to 21,000hz. I didn't even buy tweeters for my car because these are just that good. Buy these speakers, and experience how it feels to enjoy driving and your music at the same time!

Pros: Clean sound Clear highs and mids Easy to install Great look, durable build

Cons: You will need a sub. I promise. These speakers do give you more low end than your stock speakers, and clearly too. But being that the low-end response is only 57hz, most trap, rap, and EDM music will need something that can handle 25hz and up. (ie, a sub)

Warning to Mini Cooper Owners -- not a real "fit"

Jim from Atlanta, GA on 11/9/2019

2006 MINI Cooper

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

This is not really a review of the speaker, which is okay. It is more of advice for Mini Cooper R53 owners. One of the lower door Woofers in my 2006 Mini Cooper S Hatchback was blown and so I decided to try a pair of these with the mounting adapters. It was a difficult install but I got some good advice from Carl at Crutchfield. The speakers are not truly superior to what was already installed...the OEM Mini speakers. They were however, very much harder to get fitted into the car. If I had known how much more difficult (and can I say Rube Goldberg-esque) I would have simply ordered an OEM replacement. That would have meant unscrewing 4 screws on each speaker and then screwing them back in. Done. But I forged ahead and ended up having to drill three new holes in each door, attach the plastic mounting ring and then bend the 4 speaker mounting points 45 degrees and pre-drill 4 small holes at 45 degrees into that plastic mounting ring and then fasten each speaker with four screws. It took 4+ hours. Here's a great YouTube post on how to get the door panels off your first-generation (R50, R52, R53 etc.) Mini: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwzyvgZwh8M The Infinity speakers are good but not really better than your original Mini models. A pair of them costs around $150 but IMHO it is well worth it to return to OEM.

Pros: Decent Quality Sound Yes, you can keep your existing Mini speaker screens

Cons: Not really a "fit" in the Mini Cooper R53 Mounting Adapter not a fit for the speaker Challenging "forced fit" install -- no pre-set holes to mount speakers

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

My goal was to match the performance of the original Infinity system in my '04 Dakota quad cab pickup. These speakers come REALLY close! The stock speakers had become distorted and "buzzy" after 15 years of use... they were literally shredded. I ended up replacing all four lower door speakers, and am delighted by the crisp clean sound. The bass isn't super huge, but really good. Driving is much more enjoyable with the improved sound system. I'd say these are well worth the money.

Pros: The wiring harnesses that were included made hooking them up SO much easier!

Cons: A little trickier to install than anticipated. Had to find a way to keep the wire harnesses out of the way of the rear door windows when in the down position. It's a "learn-as-you-go" process. I suggest watching YouTube videos to get a general feel for what you'll be doing.

Crutchfield customer from Bellevue, WA on 9/29/2019

1995 Honda Prelude

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The original speakers in my 95 Prelude had diaphragms that had disintergrated. Many Honda forum posts stated that 6.5" speakers would not fit, but I trusted Crutchfield and they were right. Not only did these speakers fit, they required no modification to the speaker baskets in the doors, meaning that there is no interference with the window mechanism. The speakers are also drop in replacements for the OEM speakers in the back deck. The Infinity speakers require 4 retaining screws versus the original 3. But the speaker baskets are plastic and you can easily sink new screw holes into them. The sound quality is very good. The bass is weak through, so I augmented mine with a Rockford Fosgate 10" subwoofer in the trunk. Now the sound system in my car is better than the one in the family room.

Pros: Good sound quality, compact design. Direct replacement for OEM speakers.

Cons: Not much bass.

I put these in my 2015 accord exl. The stereo already sounded good but I just wanted to upgrade because I thought it could sound a bit better. I also needed a reason to take the back deck apart to try to fix the rattle from the factory sub. I really think the speakers sons great. Most noticeable in the midst and highs but it definitely didn't lose any of the bass either. It really sounds good. I was a little worried because the speakers are pretty small but they sound good. Now if I could only find a 2 ohm sub to drop in where the factory one is.

I purchased these to replace the stock speakers in my 2019 sentra. I purchased infinity because i previously had a 2003 sonata limited that was equiped with infinity system. I absolutely loved it, especially in considering that i primarily listen to death, groove, and black metal. The low end is very present without being muddy and distorting out. The reference i got for the 2019 sentra were nothing short of what i previously had and kicked major ass compared to the stock. Assemby and mounting was no issue whatsoever either.

Pros: Intense clarity and crystal clear midbass Mounting not difficult whatsoever

Cons: Because of my stock system and impedance difference the volume is a bit lower but nothing major.

59 year-old male playing mostly rock from the 60s through 90s, some older artists from that era, and some radio (mostly NPR). Replaced four factory speakers in a 2014 Odyssey (front and back sliding doors) to get clear sound that lets me hear instrumental details, clear vocals, and other subtleties without having to play loudly. So impressed after doing the front doors that I ordered the second pair for the back doors. These speakers are providing everything I hoped for. Mid-range frequencies are clear and full and the higher frequencies and percussion are crisp. Vocals and acoustic instruments are in-the-same-room clear. Even interviews/conversations (NPR) are improved to that level.

Pros: Great sound and more of it at the same volume settings as before.

I should have upgraded my speakers a long time ago from the factory garbage that came with my SUV. The only reason I gave them a 5 is because I think there could be a little more hit on the low end without distorting. These are a great option for anyone needing a budget-friendly upgrade with good sound!

Pros: Price, ease of installation, came with the wiring harness!

Cons: Not enough low end for my liking but given the speaker size, it sounds great!

I bought these for the rear door of my 2002 Toyota Sequoia with the jbl system. The stock speakers are 2.7 ohm and these were one of the few similar options out there. Overall the sound quality is quite good and the tweeters are softer with better extension than stock. The bass does roll off pretty early though.

Pros: Good balanced sound. Works with low impedance systems.

Cons: Poor bass extension

Installed in '90 Miata NA, replacing 30yr old OEM. Installed with foam baffles (for rain/water protection) with bottom 1/4 of baffle removed. Of course the sound is better. One note - universal adapter (included) works, but required a hack-saw to remove all protruding squares and triangles in order to fit (it'll be obvious what I mean). 5min of work, not a big deal. Not that you need to know with the included harnesses, but the red/green wire in the door is (+)

These were purchased to replace the lower speaker in a 2010 Mini Cooper front door panel.. The original speaker was a woofer, these are 2 way speakers and I was assured these would function as 2 ways, and they do. Too bad there are no instructions or any speaker wire harness available for the model of my car. It was a pain getting these installed, I did the driver's side first, took 2 - 3 hours, had to build my own speaker wire harness, the passenger door only took about 30 minutes , a learning experience from the driver's door helped. They lack the bass I wanted, but they do sound better than the original speaker. One 1/2 inch screw was missing from the package, the bracket had parts that had to be removed in order to replace the door panel, maybe someday there will be instructions and parts to do a proper install, but it still sounds good.

Excellent upgrade/replacement to 2nd gen Prius JBL woofers

Colin from Portland, OR on 6/16/2019

2005 Toyota Prius

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Very good performance for price. Nice smooth clean bass. Impedance and sensitivity closely match OEM speakers. The OEM JBL front woofers in our 2005 Toyota Prius had a bad habit of aging and finally failing by having the foam suspension ring separate from the frame, resulting in an ugly buzz on stronger bass notes. For little more than the cost of replacing the single failed speaker with another OEM driver, I replaced all four door-mounted woofers with much better after-market speakers. Having seen Crutchfield's support for DIY installers, I made their website the first (and only) stop. The online fitment guide made it a snap to identify which speakers would fit our vehicle. The wiring pigtails to enable solder-free connection of the replacement speakers to the pre-existing factory speaker connectors, along with the vehicle-specific instructions were excellent and eliminated much of the hassle and guess-work. This is the fourth DIY vehicle stereo work I have done, so I had some idea of the work involved. I did need to use the adapter ring supplied in the speaker kit, and also needed to get some proper-size screws to complete the work. Definitely would go this route again if confronted with fix-OEM speakers or upgrade/replace with aftermarket.

Pros: Relatively easy install using supplied adapter ring. Smooth bass response.

Cons: Use of adapter ring might confound novice DIY installers. Infinity-supplied speaker instructions were too terse to be useful.

I don't know how any other speaker on Crutchfield sells; the Infinity Ref-6532ex, I would argue, blows everything else away under $200 and even possibly $300. I give thanks to Crutchfield for their *SpeakerCompare* virtual online speaker auditioning program; without it I would have never guessed which speakers to buy. I urge everyone to use the SpeakerCompare mechanism from Crutchfield. For my ears listening through Sennheiser HD600 headphones, I narrowed my speaker choices down to these 4: 1)Infinity Ref-6532ex 2)Morel Maximo Coax 6 3)Rockford Fosgate P165-SE 4)Pioneer TS-Z65CH I ultimately chose the Infinity, which were on sale for $75, because they rivaled even the most expensive in my comparison - the $300 Pioneer system. Even the Pioneer didn't seem as open and growling on Rock/Metal like the scorching Reference series Infinitys. Even more mind-boggling, I and my brothers even chose them over Infinity's more expensive Kappa series. I have put them in my Toyota Yaris and now I will enjoy using my radio. I might upgrade to a Pioneer head unit, but the difference in sound from my factory is clear: I actually have highs and mid-range now, and the blurry bass of the factory speakers is no more. These babies thump. The highs are crisp and clean and the mid-range is robust and open even without an amp or an aftermarket stereo. I have tried both the spacers furnighed by Crutchfield and the factory from Infinity. I think I will prefer t

I just installed four of these REF 6532ex speakers in my 2013 CAMRY, plus two REF 3032cfx speakers in the dash. They sound good using the stock radio. I did all labor myself ; a few tips. The front dash speakers were tricky, I twisted and soldered them and there was a capacitor that filters low frequencies to the smaller dash speakers that no one explains. If you don't have soldering or crimping tools you will have trouble. The door were pretty straightforward. The back deck is tricky, instructions say drill two additional holes in the deck, which is impossible to do with a standard drill, but managed to mark and drill holes in the mounting brackets instead, which worked fine. These speakers are definitely punchier and crisper than the stock paper cones. The stock mounting brackets are sturdier, but won't work with new speakers. The original speakers sounded flat. I achived best balance with the Infinities by turning the bass up one notch and the treble down one notch. Enjoying the music more now!

Amazing speakers, even on a factory head unit!

Jared from Colorado Springs, CO on 5/19/2019

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I was a little on the fence about buying these or something a little cheaper. I shouldn't have been - these speakers made an incredible difference in my 2017 Honda Accord. MUCH louder and clearer than stock speakers on just the factory head unit. Don't expect them to replace the need for a sub and amp...but if you are adding bass elsewhere (or maybe adding an amp to the infinitys), these are PERFECT! I actually expected much less than what I got out of these. Crutchfield includes the wiring harnesses and adapters that fit properly. As a topper, not only is Crutchfield competitive on price, their customer service is SECOND TO NONE!! Highly recommend - you will not be disappointed.

Pros: 3 ohm impedance and a high sensitivity rating boosts factory head unit output Crystal clear sound without being 'harsh' on the ears Can handle an amp if you find it necessary Minimal to no distortion except at max volume setting (which all speakers will do to varying degrees on an underpowered factory HU)

Cons: Maybe having to pay for someone install them - which was my choice as my stupid Accord wasn't designed for an easy speaker swap on the front or rears.

I used these speaker to replace the factory ones in the rear doors of my new 2019 Ford F250 Crew Cab. I was fairly impressed with the factory audio system's interface and functionality, and thought there was a decent chance that it would perform decently if it had some good speakers. Besides, since there's no CD player in these trucks anymore and I'm therefore having to spend scores of hours "ripping" my somewhat eclectic CD collection onto a 64GB thumb drive, I certainly wanted to hear them with some semblance of musical fidelity. I installed the right one first and spent about 15 minutes sitting in the back doing a "A-B" comparisons with different types of music while making various adjustments to the sound settings, and there was no comparison. The low end had notably better definition, the vocals had much more clarity, and the high end actually existed! Given how audibly better these new rear door speakers were over the OEMs, at this point I was definitely getting excited about installing my new front door speakers!

Pros: Very efficient Nicely balanced sound for this size speaker
