A modern classic

One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-6532ix 6-1/2" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

Enhanced highs

Step up to a 1" edge-driven dome tweeter for smoother highs with minimal breakup. Plus, push-button tweeter attenuation gives you a "brightness" quick fix.

Plus One+ woofer cone

The Reference Series polypropylene woofer with its durable hi-roll rubber surround ensures you'll enjoy powerful sound every mile you drive. Its oversized cone moves more air than other speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's impressive performance.

Excellent power-handling

These speakers will really blossom when powered by an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance.

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

Angled Tweeter: The tweeters are mounted at an angle (fixed), so they can be directed toward the listeners to improve imaging.

Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output to +3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

High-Output Design: The 3Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring, extracting more power from factory (or aftermarket) receivers.

Mounting: Without an adapter, the 6532ix speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications, without any modification. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Thanks for your question. For information on comparing two or more models I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences and help you make the best choice for your system and your budget.

Q
I just purchased a pair of this speakers. How do the speaker grills attach to the speaker. My guess in via Magnet? If so they are very weak and the grills fall off

A
If you slightly bend the grill then push it back in to the speaker surround they stay better. They are just in by compression

Sorry, I used existing OEM grills that came on the car and made custom speaker mounts. Crutchfield is real good usually about answering such questions and they can easily be reached by phone.

Mounting these speakers in my 99 Dodge Ram, I installed them in the doors where the factory speakers were. Not using the grills that come with the new speakers. I believe the grills would be used if you were surface mounting the speakers.

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to that. Mine attached to the interior door frame and were covered by the door panel with GM stock speaker grills.

The wire part of the grills are pushed in the plastic frames...If not aligned just right they will fall out..
