One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-6532ix 6-1/2" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

A modern classic

One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-6532ix 6-1/2" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

Enhanced highs

Step up to a 1" edge-driven dome tweeter for smoother highs with minimal breakup. Plus, push-button tweeter attenuation gives you a "brightness" quick fix.

Plus One+ woofer cone

The Reference Series polypropylene woofer with its durable hi-roll rubber surround ensures you'll enjoy powerful sound every mile you drive. Its oversized cone moves more air than other speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's impressive performance.

Excellent power-handling

These speakers will really blossom when powered by an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance.

Amazing midbass and with the components up front these sound great inside the car. I can crank the volume all the way up and as long as the audio feed is clean and crisp the sound is amazing!!! I can only imagine what the Kappa's must sound like as these are a step below those in the Infiniti line of speakers...

Not as much bass as I'd hoped for at low volume. Very crisp sound. Only hooked to factory radio so maybe with a little power behind them there might be more bass.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very impressive speaker. Huge upgrade over the OEM rear door units. Great range and very clear.

Pros: all of the components, trim, bezels, grills etc reek of quality.

Cons: Care must be taken if the supplied grills are not used and the speaker is installed behind a factory door panel. The angled tweeter can cause clearance issues. Second - the instructions related to the tweeter attenuation are almost buried in the massive instruction sheet - really had to look for the part that specifies how the tweeter adjustment works.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are great! They are replacing a pair of Alpine Type S speakers. Was never really a fan of the Alpines. These produce a much larger sound stage, with noticeably clearer detail. Both were hooked up to the same Infiity Reference amp, and the 3 ohm load surprisingly makes a big difference; they are louder, with the same amp settings, than the Alpines.

Pros:

Cons: Free adapters that came with the speakers did not fit. But whatever, they were free.

2001 silverado door install was a replacement from existing alpines. Sound of these REF 6532ix is much smoother but hits better in the mid lows. The head unit is an older kenwood that the comparison is with.

Pros: smooth delivery and clearer highs

Cons: wish for little more bass from door mount

Cons: Not cheap

Tinny/High Pitch

Bradlee from Cedar Rapids, IA on 10/11/2018

2015 Chevrolet Cruze

1. In general, these didn't sound much better than my stock Chevy Cruze car speakers. 2. These had an overall high pitch sound to them that actually caused me to have a terrible headache. I'd recommend something a little more pricey and better sounding, like the Kappa 62ix.

Pros:

Cons: high pitch, tinny sound

After upgrading my head unit and hearing the massive audio quality difference I was super excited to upgrade the speakers and get even more quality. However, I was very upset after installing these. Downgrade from my factory speakers in my 15 WRX. Haven't gotten around to removing them yet, but definitely disappointed in these speakers. I don't recommend.

Pros: Loud

Cons: Audio Quality

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

excellent clarity ! Might be a bit too bright though. A night and day difference from the stock (paper) speakers in my Jeep. On the stock speakers the highs were "ok" not shrilling at least, but the bass was just far too much ,. boomy and muddy. On the infinity reference, I opted to keep the attenuator at 0 db (not +3) and still sound pretty "bright". These are on the back door panels of my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018,. the 6*9's are in the front. Those have a good, crisp bass punch to them, so it rounds out pretty well. installing and wiring up was extremely easy with the included harness and instructions from crutchfield Real happy with their service and "clarity" of instructions as well !!

Pros: Tight, punchy bass, Very clear and crisp sound overall

Cons: might be a bit bright on the highs,. I turned the treble down on head unit.

Well made

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Reviewing speakers is subjective and subjectively I give this pair 5 stars. I like them more than any previous speakers I have owned. Crisp and clear, the highs are full without being shrill and the bass is rich and round without loosening your teeth.

Pros: Great sound

Cons: With my HU (no ext amp) they really don't start to perform until mid-volume, which in my dinky car is a little loud. Also, I have them mounted behind the door panel and can't play with the tweeter button, both of which are my application and not the speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Speakers have good sound however the grill mounting is horrible. The wire grilles just pop on after the speaker is mounted and two of mine didn't fit good at all. They push in and on one of mine I had to glue the grill in to keep it from falling out. I expected way more from Infinity given the name and price!

Pros: Good sound

Cons: Poor grille mounting arrangement

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very good speakers. Needed to get more "umph" up front in a 2017 Acura RDX. I installed 2 - 12" subs in the rear with an amp and it sounded pretty good but with these speakers I did not need to add power to them because of their efficiency. Easy install in this car.

Pros: Great sound Easy install Good price No amp needed for this install

Cons:

Pure, clean highs and just enough low end.

Gary from Enid, OK on 5/6/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got more than expected from these speakers. I have used Infinity for years and they have never failed me yet. I have had several sets of Kappa's from tweeters to 12" sub woofers. My Silverado LTZ needed more in the back seat and the 2 way speakers gave ne just enough. I will be ordering the same thing for the front.

Pros: Price, very classy look great quality

Cons: None I can see

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

Angled Tweeter: The tweeters are mounted at an angle (fixed), so they can be directed toward the listeners to improve imaging.

Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output to +3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

High-Output Design: The 3Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring, extracting more power from factory (or aftermarket) receivers.

Mounting: Without an adapter, the 6532ix speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications, without any modification. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

If you slightly bend the grill then push it back in to the speaker surround they stay better. They are just in by compression [ JAMES  Mar 14, 2019 ]
Mounting these speakers in my 99 Dodge Ram, I installed them in the doors where the factory speakers were. Not using the grills that come with the new speakers. I believe the grills would be used if you were surface mounting the speakers. [ Anthony  Mar 14, 2019 ]
Unfortunately, I don't have the answer to that. Mine attached to the interior door frame and were covered by the door panel with GM stock speaker grills. [ DANIEL J  Mar 14, 2019 ]
The wire part of the grills are pushed in the plastic frames...If not aligned just right they will fall out.. [ BRIAN  Mar 14, 2019 ]
