AWSOME
James from Port St Lucie, FL on 10/25/2022
2014 Toyota Tacoma 4 door. Was looking for something to give me some extra bass without breaking the bank and going all out with amps and subs. Put sound deadening material along rear of cab. Mounted sub in the storage bin behind rear seat instead of under seat. Stopped at local install shop and had them do all adjustments to head unit and sub. Just so its right. Have a pioneer head unit and rockford Fosgate components in doors. May upgrade door speakers soon. I'm not rattling peoples windows, but the extra bass and everything set right. It sounds GREAT. I'm very happy with the Basspro SL2. My wife even enjoys hearing the extra bass and better sound. She never goes above 5 on the volume. She doesn't like loud music. From heavy metal to Buble' to country. Sounds great. Would recommend to a friend. The people at Crutchfield were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Pros: Price, quality, size , sound
Cons: None

2017 F150 Super Crew

2017 Ford F-150 XLT
Installed behind rear seat in 2017 F150 super crew. Fit great and easy hookup. Ran power and ground under floor trim on pass side. Speaker and remote wires on drivers side. Sound good and really fills in factory speakers head unit. Little kick but definitely not same as 10/12 inch sub. It works perfect for me.
Pros: Compact and easy to install behind rear seat. Sounds good.
Cons: Would have preferred connections on short side of box for my install but really not a huge deal

Fills in the low end of the audio spectrum
Scott from Puyallup, WA on 6/21/2022
I just got this working today in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma full sized cab. It wouldn't fit under the passenger seat and at the same time adjust the seat all the way back as my wife needs it to be, so I mounted it behind the drivers side rear seat. It wasn't a bad job running wire from there to the head unit, and once powered up it definitely filled in the lower octaves with power to spare. It's easy to overdo it on the bass, so I adjusted it to just be noticed, not over the top. I'm pleased with this purchase.
Pros: Easy to set up Adds a lot of bass Cool remote to adjust the woofer level on the fly
Cons: Just a little too tall to fit under my passenger seat

I absolutely love this powered sub. I have a 2017 Nissan Titan crew cab. This unit fits nice under the seat. The wiring was straight forward and after tuning it through my Alpine, it hits and hits hard. Matter of fact I have to turn it down on most songs. You can set it to give you just enough bass to round out your door speakers or crank it up.
Pros: Fits nice under the seat Straight forward wiring
Cons: No cons

2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Needed something with a small footprint to fit under my backseat. Produces just enough deep tone and punch to balance out the rest of the stereo system. Definitely recommend this for other pickup truck owners with limited space. It will not give you strong low deep bass so if that is what you are looking for you will be disappointed.
Pros: Easy Install. Good overall sound.

Matt from Chesapeake, VA on 3/28/2022
So I'm disappointed in the richness of the bass this amplified sub puts out. In other words it is very lacking. I am currently running it in a 2020 Bolt, and the stock non Bose speakers put out the same amount of Bass this unit does. I am running JBL 10" subs in all my other vehicles and the sound is crisp and the subs hit. If you are looking to add a little more bass to your car this unit will do it with the key word being "little". I tried to give it time 6+ months and still want more. The directions and wire schematic from Crutchfield were spot on and the unit was extremely easy to install. I can't fault Crutchfield for this, it is just a lesson learned and hopefully someone will read this before being disappointed. Plan on getting something new shortly.
Pros: Easy install, small package
Cons: Lacking in Bass

XL for adding some low end!
BRIAN from Virginia Beach, VA on 9/8/2021
2021 Hyundai Kona
Picked up this guy to supplement the low end in a '21 Kona with the upgraded stereo that already included an 8" sub - albeit weakly powered from the installed 45W x 7 Clarion amp under the passenger seat. Rigged this up under the driver's seat, mostly due to a lack of other options, but I found that the ability to easily adjust the settings was a plus. Bottom line, sounds leagues better than the installed sub; the power is more than sufficient but I find that the shallow throw of the sub sometimes doesn't allow it to flesh out the bass and it gets a tad "farty", for lack of a better term. Some songs sound far better than others (mostly hard rock/metal) and I've found a general sweet spot with the crossover, but tweaking continues. A new inline EQ may be in my future. All in all a great improvement and an easy install to recommend - especially for the $179 deal I got! Thanks Crutchfield!
Pros: Easy install, solid bass, sound remains confined in-vehicle.
Cons: Minor constant tweaks to finesse, shallow throw by design.

Lots of bass in a little package
Travis from GREEN BAY, WI on 8/16/2021
2011 Ford Ranger
Great product! I have this installed in my 2011 Ford Ranger with some amplified Rockford Fosgate 6x8 speakers and it perfectly rounds out the sound. I am very surprised with the amount of bass that such a thin 8" subwoofer can produce. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants more bass in their vehicle without installing large subwoofer boxes. The product also comes with a wired remote to control the amount of bass which can be easily installed.
Pros: Lots of bass in a small package Easy to install, especially if you already have an amplifier for speakers

Still to bulky to fit

Too big and too thick to fit under the seats of a 3000GT. Needs to have less length and about 1" less in thickness.
Pros: Unknown. Didn't power it up.
Cons: Still to big

I was very pleased when I fired this sub up for the first time. The amount of bass out of this compact package was amazing. I installed this in my 1970 Pontiac to fill in the lows that my two Kenwood 4 x 10s were lacking and this accomplished that and then some. If you are looking for a compact sub to complete your sound system I would definitely recommend it.

This compact powered subwoofer is perfect for someone who wants a little more bass and doesn't want to spend a lot of time or money for a professional installation of giant subwoofers for monster bass. I highly recommend this JBL BassPro SL2!
Pros: Small, easy to install. Inexpensive.
Cons: Not monster bass (I didn't want that).

Happy with the sound that this 8" sub provides. Customer service answered all my questions. Very easy to install in my 2019 Subaru Forester. Didn't have to remove the head unit at all. Everything is factory except I installed new dashboard speakers to the 3-1/2 kicker. The car wasn't equipped with dash speakers originally but the harness were there. Made all my speaker connections there for the powered subwoofer. So I didn't have to take apart the car to install it. The only problem I had which gives it a 4star is the 24volt + and - plug doesn't snap into the amp. Probably a factory defect that I will have Crutchfield take care of.

Far Better than Expected!
Scott from Hemet, CA on 6/13/2021
2019 Ford Ranger
I was hoping this would fill in the low stuff. I was not disappointed. This unit fits under the passenger seat of my 2019 Ford Ranger Super Crew. It is way more than adequate. Puts out more bass than it needs to for this size of a cabin. There are several tuning adjustments to make but once they are right it really adds the bass punch the system lacks. It does come with a wired remote. In my truck the adjustment is less than half way up and the bass is clean and tight and the way it should sound. I could not be happier with this unit.
Pros: Small, excellent performance in a compact package.
Cons: None that I can think of.

2019 Dodge Challenger
Just what our Challenger needed. Fits nicely under the front passenger seat of a 2019 Challenger and provides the bass the stock stereo omits. Using an Audio Control 2Ci Pro to get a signal from the rear deck speakers and using the main speaker RCA outlet to drive the rear deck 6.5 JBL speakers with a small Kenwood amp. Makes the system sound really nice. Tried the set up with the Audio Control 2Ci, but the factory amp would cut the speaker signal if it didn't sense a speaker resistance. The 2CI Pro allowed for a selectable resistance to trick the stock head unit/amp to send the Audio Control a speaker signal

2017 Honda Civic EX
I love this sub! It Fits under the passenger seat of my 2017 Honda Civic, I don't know how it would work out in a big truck but in this little car it is the perfect amount of bass. It truly surprised me! I have the 8" , well worth it if you do not have room for a big sub box! Also, you do not have to wire it to an accessory for it to turn on, it has a sensor that senses when the power goes to the speakers and that turns it on ..

Perfect for small coupes
Crutchfield customer from Boise, ID on 8/21/2020
90's Honda Civic - Stock Honda (Alpine) radios from the 90's at some point quit working, so I recently replaced the stock receiver with the Sony MEX-N5300BT and Sony XMS400D mini amp, and Kicker speakers. That's a nice, inexpensive package, but the bass really lacks. Added the JBL BassPro SL2, and boom! Perfect match. The total package with the sub sounds about like a premium stock stereo set up in new cars. Total cost was about $500 to bring my little commuter car stereo back to life, and the JBL sub was the icing on the cake. The adjustable 40Hz boost is just about right for trunk mount. The remote adjust on the sub is a must. Different music genres require widely different settings for the sweet spot, and adjusting on the fly really helps. It wouldn't quite fit under the seat, but that's because I put Dynamat and mass loaded vinyl on the floor. I tried it behind the seat and in the trunk; advantage in the cabin, but the trunk is fine. If it didn't require pulling out the interior again and removing the vinyl, I would probably put it under the driver's seat. Yes - I recommend this for small coupes/sedans. It's just enough bass to get the job done. It's not enough bass to vibrate the hairs on your head :)
Pros: Size Ease of set up Great for small coupes / sedans

Great for a car.
Salvatore from Piscataway, NJ on 6/14/2020
Does exactly what it is supposed to. This is not a window-thumping bass. It is meant to round out and fill-in the lows of your favorite music in a compact form, typically installed under a seat. This is not suitable for your trunk. Not sure if it would be as impressive in a large truck either. But in a car... wow. I have a stock stereo in my 2019 Mazda 6 and this made a huge difference. It does add a very nice kick. Well worth it for what I want and I would buy it again for my next vehicle. If you want much more than I describe, go for a bulky trunk model. In short, 5 stars in this context.
Pros: Adds well-rounded bass. A depth that just is not possible with just the stock sound system I have.
Cons: Sure, I wish it would shake the neighbors windows. But it can't
