Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each woofer uses a cone larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

Mounting: Without an adapter, the woofers fit standard 6¾" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit many 6½" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a wide variety of 6½" and 6¾" applications, without any modification. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

High-Output Design: The 3Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring, extracting more power from factory (or aftermarket) receivers. This results in clearer, richer sound for the listener.

Tweeter Mounting: The I-Mount tweeter mounting system and Starfish mounting brackets give you several different ways to mount the tweeters:

  • I-Mount: The tweeters can be surface-mounted or flush-mounted with JBL's innovative I-Mount system:
    • Surface Mount: Surface mounting the tweeters involves screwing the surface-mount cup to the mounting location, then inserting and locking the tweeter into the cup.
    • Flush Mount: Flush mounting uses the threaded flush-mount housing and plastic locking nut. Once a cutout is made, the tweeter is installed in the flush-mount adapter, then into the flush mount housing and inserted into the hole. The large plastic locking nut is threaded onto the adapter (from behind the mounting surface) to hold the complete assembly securely in place. When flush mounted, the tweeters may be angled (up to approximately 40°) for optimum response and imaging.
  • Starfish Mounting Brackets: The Starfish mounting brackets allow the tweeters to be installed in factory locations behind the existing grilles:
    • Bottom Mount: Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is secured to the underside of the grille panel. The tweeter must be inserted into the bracket and locked into place before the bracket is mounted.
    • Surface Mount: Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is screwed to the top of the mounting surface behind the grille panel. Then, the tweeter is inserted into the bracket and locked into place.
    • Flush Mount: There are two sets of tabs to flush mount the tweeter in the Starfish bracket, yielding different mounting dimensions. The upper tabs mount the tweeter completely below the opening and are glued in place. The lower mounting tabs are screwed in place and result in a mounting height just over ¼". Once the bracket is mounted, the tweeter is inserted into the bracket and locked into place.

Dimensions:

Cutout Diameter N/A 1.58" N/A N/A 1.506" 1.258"

Crossover: The crossover point is 5 kHz. The inputs and outputs are screw terminals; they will accommodate bare wire or spade connectors up to 0.3125" wide. A switch on each crossover allows you to adjust the tweeter output level; choose 0 dB (flat) or +3 dB. There are four mounting holes in each crossover.

Crossover Dimensions:

  • Width: 3.95"
  • Height: 1.135"
  • Depth: 3.175" (plus wire)

Q
Iâ??m looking for a sleeker upgrade for my 2008 Jetta with an aftermarket gps stereo. I went with the Jbl club605csq, but there are no options in the package for my mid-door speakers? What do you recommend?

Im not really understanding your question.. are you saying that the JBL component speaker system won't fit in where your factory mid door speakers are?
[ JUSTIN  Jul 11, 2021 ]
A
Not sure what a mid door speaker is? If you mean the speaker at the bottom of your door then you have everything you need. If your Jetta didn't come with a tweeter already in it, the JBL's come with many options for mounting. If it already has one, just replace it with the new one and wire it from the JBL crossover box instead of the current one.

i have a 2003 miata, will i have to make a custom bracket to make them fit?

Short answer, YES. The Crutchfield product page has this component speaker set listed as 6 1/2" but that is incorrect. This is a 6 3/4" component set which makes it slightly larger and will NOT fit in an opening or mounting bracket made for a 6 1/2" without some modifications. That means you need to find a mounting adapter made for a 6 3/4" speaker that will fit in a 6x8" opening, which to my knowledge DOES NOT EXIST. You can either buy the adapter for that opening designed for a 6 1/2" speaker and attempt to modify it -----------------------or----------------------- Create your own adapter out of some flat plastic sheeting. It shouldn't be too difficult to get this speaker set to work on your vehicle if you know what you're doing and have the free time. The improvement in sound quality you'll get as a result will make this upgrade worth while. P.S. If modding parts isnt an option for you then find a true 6 1/2
