Looking to upgrade your factory system and build a ride you can be proud of? Start with a JBL Grand Touring component speaker system. Its high-efficiency design will rock your tunes with clean, powerful output.

The GTO607C component speaker system features a pair of 6-1/2" polypropylene woofers, each suspended in a heavy-duty rubber surround. The woofer cone offers a larger surface area than other 6-1/2" speakers, for improved bass output and efficiency — giving your music a firm foundation.

Innovative My-Ti™ tweeters — blended from titanium and Mylar — deliver highs that sparkle without becoming overbearing. The ingenious I-mount system allows you to custom install the tweeters in almost any location, and JBL's Starfish™ mounting bracket lets you install the tweeters in most factory tweeter locations.

The crossovers promote proper blending of the lows and highs, essential to delivering realistic sound. A tweeter level switch lets you adjust high-frequency output for your vehicle.

Important Note: These JBL speakers use a low impedance design to pull more power safely from your car stereo or amplifier. This design is compatible with all factory and aftermarket stereos.

Great Speakers for the Price

Jeremy from St Charles, MO on 8/9/2008

Out of the box it was clear these are mid-priced components. No expensive materials here. Thin plastic (poly) cone with a small to medium size magnet structure-- Obviously not a mid-bass speaker. That being said, these definitely haven't disappointed me. Crossover is a little higher than I'd like. A bit more foundation for the tweeters would have been preferred. The quality and clarity of sound coming from the tweeters was a nice surprise. Clear and bright without being excessive, while having substantial volume that keeps up with the rest of the system. Hard to tell whether I like the 6.5" drivers. Volume and clarity are great, but it doesn't hit the lower end like components should. Granted I only have a stock Nissan head unit (12~15w rms), and the front doors are more or less free air but.. Something has to be said when my 5.25" coaxials (same JBL GTO's) in the back have more noticeable low frequency output. Since the suspension is so stiff, these may get a lot better with additional power. Overall, I would highly recommend these components. Crystal clear, well balanced sound with enough volume to please anyone. Even on a lower power system, they speak out loud and clear with two 12" subs taking care of the lows. The 2 ohm impedance didn't make a huge difference in output vs the stock 4 ohm speakers. Sound quality is another story however. Thumbs up.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've owned JBL speakers before (never components) and have been very happy. These, however, were a disappointment: harshly bright, minimal mid-range, non-existent low-range. I crossed them at 120Hz with an Infinity amp powering these components and a 10" sub picking up the low bass frequencies, and even at that range they couldn't produce decent mid-range, with or without baffles. My 5 1/4" co-axials in the rear doors sound better. If there were a way to attenuate the tweeters a bit, that might make the difference, but the crossovers don't give you that option. You can boost tweeter output by 3dB, but you cannot reduce the output. I paid $50 more and traded up to Alpine Type-R components and am extremely happy. Much better bass and mid-range output. You can attenuate the tweeters, but so far I've left mine flat and they sound great. For $200 you can do much better than these JBLs.

Fantastic Speakers at an Affordable Price!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers to replace the horrible Polk Audio db6500 components I got recently. The db6500 was excessively bright and did not have what it takes to be component speakers. This JBL 607C however, is a completely different story. I took nearly 6 hours to put them in but the results are definitely worth the time. These speakers sound fantastic! The highs are crisp and clear while the mids are clean as I expected from aftermarket car speakers. With the Plus One cone design there is a good amount of bass to be heard too. The crossovers definitely do a great job of directing the high and low frequencies to the woofer and tweeter. The crossovers are smaller than the ones in other component system so I can easily mount it anywhere. Also, don't let the 70W RMS let you think that these speakers are weaker than other components. They have only 2 Ohm impedance so they will extract the most power from your amplifier and can really scream when you crank up the volume. I'm suprised that they are not as popular as Polk Audio and Infinity components. I certainly think I have made a good choice in purchasing these speakers. Now my sound system is complete with JBL GTO series speakers, amp, and subwoofer.

Great Speakers

Robert from MD on 8/28/2007

I have just recently gotten these speakers installed in my 2001 Saturn L300, complemented with the GTO507Cs in the rear, since my car originally four sets of factory component speakers. These are all being powered by the Pioneer GM-4300F and ran off the Alpine CDA-9857. Let me tell you that these speakers are the best. I was a little skeptical at first due to the lack of reviews on these speaker sets, but they are worth the money. They handle bass well, and they aren't even broken in yet. The highs are clear. They sound great whether I'm playing Young Jeezy or Three Days Grace. And one more thing, they get loud. I cannot even turn my head-unit up halfway, w/o fearing my car will rattle apart. Great speakers.

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and a significant increase in efficiency.

Woofer Materials: Each woofer is constructed of Injection-Molded Polypropylene. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. It is also lighter weight and more rigid for decreased distortion and improved bass response.

Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

Intermount III Mounting System: JBL's Intermount III mounting system allows the woofers to fit in a variety of applications. The plastic brackets allow the woofers to be installed in an oversized 6-3/4" GM/Chrysler opening. With the metal adapter rings, the woofers can be installed in a 6-1/2" opening. Without any adapter brackets or rings, the woofers mount in a 6-3/4" opening.

1" My-Ti Dome Tweeters: The Mylar/titanium composite tweeters are stiff, light, and extremely efficient. They deliver the high-frequency extension of titanium with the damping of a composite diaphragm.

Tweeter Mounting: The I-Mount tweeter mounting system and Starfish mounting brackets give you several different ways to mount the tweeters:

  • I-Mount Tweeter Mounting System: The tweeters can be surface- or flush-mounted with Infinity's innovative I-Mount system:
    • Surface Mount: Surface mounting the tweeters involves screwing the surface-mount cup to the mounting location, then inserting and locking the tweeter into the cup.
    • Flush Mount: Flush mounting is made easy through the use of the threaded flush-mount adapter and plastic locking nut. Once a cutout is made, the flush-mount adapter (with the tweeter installed) is inserted into the hole. The large plastic locking nut is threaded onto the adapter (from behind the mounting surface) to hold the complete assembly securely in place. When flush mounted, the tweeters may be angled for optimum response and imaging.
  • Starfish Mounting Brackets: The Starfish mounting brackets allow the tweeters to be installed in factory locations behind the grilles:
    • Surface Mount (behind grille panel): Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is screwed to the mounting surface behind the grille panel. Then, the tweeter is inserted into the bracket and locked into place.
    • Flush Mount (behind grille panel): Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is dropped into the cutout in the mounting surface behind the grille panel. Then, the tweeter is inserted into the bracket and locked into place.
    • Bottom Mount (to grille panel): Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is secured to the underside of the grille panel. The tweeter must be inserted into the bracket and locked into place before the bracket is mounted.
    • Flush Mount (in-dash location): Once the Starfish bracket is trimmed, it is dropped into the cutout in the dash. Then, the tweeter is inserted into the bracket and locked into place.
