Loooove these!!! Really awakens the soul when your music is right! Excellent bass response with minimal distortion. Highs are crisp. I use an EQ for all my music so it's easier to fine tune and these speakers took almost everything I threw at it. The mids were kinda murky tho.

Pros: Excellent bass and highs

Cons: Mids were questionable

. installation in my 2018 Tacoma with JBL audio was anything but a slam dunk. The issue I ran into was that the signal at the door speakers is filtered and can only be used with a woofer. When I connected the speaker wire to the input of the crossover, and the tweeter to the output of the crossover, no sound was emitted. Discussed with Crutchfield Support and agreed on two options: 1) Replace the stock dash JBL tweeters with the new JBL tweeters - which meant cannibalizing the wiring as a cable adapter is not available, or 2) Solder wires to the terminals of the stock tweeters and run new wires out to the doors and connect the new tweeters in parallel. The tweeters are small and easily surface-mounted to the door panels unobtrusively so, I chose the latter. It was no fun running those wires but, having two sets of tweeters was a very good decision. The crossovers went unused, which is unfortunate because they support a 3 way speaker setup I was planning using JBL Stadium GTO20M mid-range speakers. Where the stock JBL system is 2 ohm, and these speakers are 2.5 ohm, there is some small loss in volume but, the increase in quality more than more than makes up for it. I mated these speakers with JBL Stadium GTO620 speakers in the rear doors; I reviewed those separately. In the end, the difference over the stock JBL speakers is amazing; I could not be more pleased. Next, replacing the stock JBL subwoofer with a Rockford Fosgate Punch PS3D4-8.

Pros: Everything good JBL has to offer Small but very high quality tweeters with multiple mounting options

Cons: No cons with the speakers themselves but, be aware of the restrictions when installing in 2016+ Tacoma with JBL audio

These are decent sounding (I'm a retired competitor), for the price. Tweeters are great. I added the 20m which really detailed the midrange. Needed a bit of tuning as they were a little too much on the high frequencies. Not very much bass output for a 6X9 in a custom enclosure (using Leap). I don't care for the plastic basket (not in a car with constant temp swings), plastic usually warps which may cause failure. Also did not care for the set screw terminations. Especially when they can be installed in doors. They have a tendency to loosen up, which can take out an amp if the wire falls out. Not bad though, overall. I may purchase another set for my Sunday driver.

Pros: Decent clear sound

Cons: Woofer basket is plastic, wire terminations are set screw. no wiring included with them

Very bright, lack bass

From the specs, these seemed pretty solid and I liked the fact that you could upgrade them to a 3 way set up (which I did). Overall, I'm pretty happy with my purchase, but I'll be honest - right out of the box I was not. They were extremely bright and the bass was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately the EQ on my headunit is rather limited, so while they sound much better now, there's still much more room for improvement. I'm not a bass addict nor do I listen to music that's heavy on bass, but they were very underwhelming in that regard. Ended up bumping up the bass boost to the max and tweaked the rest of the range so that they weren't as bright. They do get rather loud and I have yet to experience distortion. Construction quality: the cone and surround seem solid, but the basket on the 6x9s is plastic. I figured something in this price range would use metal. Have been out of the audio game for a few years, so I'm not sure if this is the new norm. One other aesthetic thing that kind of bothers me is the way the tweeters are aimed. I installed them in my truck's A-pillar and to get them pointed at me, I had to install them so that the JBL branding is on it's side. Looks weird and there's no way to detach and realign the metal grill. Should have just left the branding off the grill. I plan on adding a DSP and a standalone subwoofer (which I was hoping to avoid) in the very near future Speakers are powered by a Pioneer PRS-D800 which puts out 150w

Pros: Sound great after some tuning

Cons: Lack bass Very bright right out of the box 6x9s use a plastic basket
