Impressive performance

The engineers at JBL put some of their best thinking into these marine speakers. Patented Plus One™ polypropylene cones give you an impressive speaker-cone area, so you can enjoy higher sensitivity, increased low-frequency thump, and a richer overall listening experience. The dual cone design gives you plenty of high-frequency sparkle so you'll hear all the details. Things that used to sound muffled through your old boat speakers, like brass, vocals, and pianos, will sound clear through these JBLs.

Built to withstand the elements

Life on the water can be hard on speakers, so the JBL team worked hard to design speakers that were tough enough to take it. The one-piece polymer basket can handle years of sun and salt, while rubber surrounds ensures a weather-resistant seal. Your music will come through loud and clear, whether you're roaring across the waves or relaxing at the dock.

Features

Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

Size: With a required cutout diameter of just over 5", these speakers fit into the openings for standard 6 ½" car speakers, but the frame is much bigger than a typical 6 ½" and the screw hole pattern is different. Because the grille is not designed to be removed, the mounting height is also greater than most car speakers. For these reasons, the speakers won't fit in most car applications.

Note: JBL describes the the MS6510 as a 6" speaker on their web site, but in the manual and on the box they list 6 ½", which matches our nomenclature.

Grilles: The grilles are glued to the speakers and cannot be removed without breaking them.

Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
Need to replace some worn out Sony's on my Toy Hauler. Was tossed up between these and the Memphis Audio's and the cool LED look, but I've always had good luck w/ JBL's in the past. Reliability always seems to win in the end. [ Wray  Apr 03, 2018 ]
