Awesome Boat Speakers

Had a pair of older Kenwood speakers that were good but unfortunately one blew out. Replaced those with these JBL's and what a difference. Play much louder and cleaner. The bass is very good and voices are crystal clear. You will not go wrong with these boat speakers.
Pros: Great sound Easy to install
Cons: Have to use Allen wrench for screws which was awkward.

Great sound, easy install. I installed these speakers as replacements for the original equipment in my boat. The included template worked well for drilling the new holes needed for mounting . They are paired with a Sony MEX-M100BT tuner purchased at the same time. No noticable distortion even when the volume is WAY up! My only concern is that the speaker cones seem a bit exposed and vulnerable to damage due to the open design of the grills. Recommended, I may buy two more in order to have four speakers.

Great all around speaker, Not a speaker to depend solely for your Bass

I purchased 4 of these to put in the mid cabin and bow of my Chaparral Sunesta 224. The speakers fit the same size hole as the OEM panasonic speakers but that's where the similarities ended. These speakers were paired with the larger 8" version that is running the aft. All of these are being run off of the JBL MA704 amplified with the 8" on the read channel and the 4 6.5" speakers wired to the front channel. The base response is good on the front channel with just 6.5". Plenty of power, gets loud and sounds great. If you like more bass but not wanting to commit to the subwoofer. Pairing these with the 8" version makes for a great system with much more Bass. The speakers have a clean look to them and have shown to be very durable so far...time will tell. I had polk marine audio speaker in my previous boat that were powered by a similar amplifier and these JBL's out perform at a better price (IMO)
Pros: Sleek design, interchangeable JBL tag (orange/grey), great sound, clear highs, clear lows, easy fit into existing 6.5" cutouts. great value
Cons: Lacking for bass as a stand alone, screw heads are allen wrench and not Phillips head, Grills do not come off

Just bought two pairs of these speakers to replace the speakers in my bought. OMG, they sound awesome! The other boats know when I'm coming as the speakers are louder then my inboard engine. Thank you Crutchfield for the recommendations.
