Features
Woofers: The Thermalum woofer cones are composed of a polypropylene base with a bonded nickel layer. This cone is extremely durable. It is the ideal choice for those who like to listen to their music loud without fatigue. In addition, the nickel layer actually "wicks" heat away from the motor structure thus increasing power handling.
The co-injection molded rubber surrounds are actually bonded to the cone during the molding process. In addition, rubber surrounds provide excellent cone edge suspension as well as resisting moisture and UV contamination.
Tweeters: The speaker uses a neoglass tweeter. This woven fiberglass tweeter has a neodymium magnet structure. Neoglass is a strong material that has excellent sonic properties. This tweeter provides very smooth and natural sounding output.
The "Powerstat" cast polymer basket provides a rigid, non-resonant platform which ensures optimum clarity and long-term reliability.
Power Handling Specifications: The specification shown in the manual as the upper limit of the "Recommended Amplifier Power Range" is incorrectly listed as RMS power. The upper limit of the recommended amplifier power range (175 watts) is actually the peak power handling of the speaker. The power specifications (5-70 watts RMS) in the Crutchfield database were provided to us by JBL..
