JBL PartyBox 300

Serious about having fun? Bring a JBL PartyBox 300 to your next shindig. This big, rugged, 35-pound speaker will crank out your tunes with massive, hard-hitting sound to get people moving. And the PartyBox 300's three-mode light effects help set the mood.

If anyone wants to sing or play along with the music, the PartyBox has both guitar and microphone inputs. Stream tunes via Bluetooth from your smartphone or tablet. Or plug in a flash drive preloaded with your party mix.

Big sound indoors and out

The PartyBox 300 features two 6-1/2” woofers and three 2-1/4” tweeters for powerful, clear sound. A rear-firing port reinforces the bass. And there's also selectable Bass Boost if you want to make your tunes thump even more.

Want bigger sound? You can pair two PartyBox 300 speakers together for either two-channel stereo or just to double the volume. The speakers can be paired wirelessly via Bluetooth, or they can be connected with RCA cables.

Making connections

You might use a Bluetooth phone or tablet as the music source most of the time, but you have other options, too. The stereo RCA input lets you connect a CD player or a turntable with built-in phono preamp. A USB port on the back lets you plug in flash drives.

There are two 1/4” input jacks — one for a microphone, the other for a guitar. Volume control knobs let you set their levels independently. These inputs let you either sing or play along to music already playing through the PartyBox 300. Hello, karaoke night!

Portability and power

Integrated carry handles make the PartyBox 300 easier to transport. (But at 35 pounds, it's one of the heaviest "portable Bluetooth speakers" we've ever seen.) The speaker has a built-in rechargeable battery that can deliver up to 18 hours of operation. You can use the speaker's USB port to charge your smartphone or tablet. And the PartyBox 300 comes with a detachable AC power cord, so you can keep the sound and light show going indefinitely.

Rolling (and rocking) on the river

Two of my favorite things in the world are music and camping. When I first saw and heard the JBL PartyBox 300 I knew that I had to have one. My friends were just as impressed when I showed up at our camping spot with my latest purchase.

We listen to a wide variety of music and all of our playlists sounded great through the PartyBox! With 250 watts of power (120 watts RMS) we rocked out while we relaxed by the river. The bass boost function really helped those deep bass notes rumble through our campsite.

After dark, we sat around the fire. There were surprised looks when I turned on the PartyBox's built-in light effects. With lights flashing in time to the music this Bluetooth speaker took our music to another level.

When my cell phone battery started dying, I just plugged it into the PartyBox's USB port. The music continued to play long after my cell phone would have died without the charging source in the speaker.

With 18 hours of battery life, the speaker kept the music playing as we talked and laughed well into the night. And with the added guitar and mic inputs, we could plug into the speaker and rock right along with the music playing.

While the JBL PartyBox 300 might not be for the serious audiophiles it is perfect for those who like their music loud and clear. I'm considering getting a second PartyBox 300 so that I can pair two of them together for true stereo listening. But for now, I am more than satisfied.

This speaker is AWESOME!! I LOVE the colored lights and the strobe, makes the deck look really cool at night. Its loud, the Bass is good. It isnt a HUGE speaker but it is around 35-40lbs, the handles make it easier to carry. I love that I can charge my phone off it as well. Highly recommend.

Pros: Loud, Clear sound, good bass

Fabulous speaker. Sounds crystal clear even at full volume. Love the "disco lights" when playing and with the 18 hours of playing with no cord, well , that is one awesome speaker for the pool, party, tailgating etc.

Great balanced detailed sound

John from Katy, TX on 2/26/2019

Amazing speaker, looks very nice and sounds amazing. The bass goes very deep and is strong, but retains a balanced sound with the mids and highs while having the JBL sound signature to keep it from sounding boring. Amazing and exceeds all expectations and more like every other JBL product I've bought.

Pros: Great balanced sound, deep strong bass, looks very nice

Cons: Not for audiophiles.

The Partybox 300 is not sounding as good as my RCF speakers but for $450 portable and light show it's worth it, hope JBL make cover to protect the speaker like RCF

Pros: Good sound, nice light show.

Cons: Heavy, 12v dc can only play music not charging the battery.

Customer Q&A

A
I wanted a little kick in my back yard [ Frederick  May 27, 2019 ]
A
I have been researching this for several months for hours a day. I've done research, watched videos, and gone to sites for high end audio recordings side by side with competitors. This speaker has extremely clear audio, deep low end bass (not just boomy and muddy), and looks absolutely beautiful. The price is definitely not cheap by any means, but this beats the competition even a few hundred dollars higher. Plan to use for personal casual listening use, but will have it for a party if needed. [ John Michael  Feb 13, 2019 ]
