JBL Soundgear BTA
Crutchfield customer from Gettysburg, PA on 12/25/2020
I bought these for hearing impaired person with hearing aids to improve TV listening and understandability. Generally, the Soundgear works well and provides synchronized, good quality, and clear sound. It improves the ability to hear and understand the TV greatly. We did find the volume occasionally increases and then soon decreases a little. This may be due to TV sound source (for example, a commercial), not being able to distinguish normal fluctuations previously (thus not being used to the volume changes), or the response of the hearing aids to this close sound source. The one thing that I believe would greatly improve the produce is for it to have the ability to mute/unmute the TV sound source to allow for side conversations etc. It seems that all one can due for this is to reduce the volume, turn off the Soundgear, or turn off the TV.
Pros: Synchronized, good quality, and clear sound.
Cons: Inability to mute/unmute the TV sound source.

This JBL product fully resolved difficulty hearing television dialogue without disturbing neighbors or annoying other viewers. Our intended recipient bristled when presented the device but switched from active loathing to delight in a single use "wow, this is great." One should not limit this product for impaired hearing. The sound experience coupled with excellent sound syncing offers enthusiasts opportunity to enjoy sound track without a surround system and no worries in of disturbing neighbors or other residents.
Pros: Easy to set-up and use. Great sound. Spot on sound sync, zero lag between speech and lip movement. Charges quick
Cons: Battery life warning tone is louder than content and warning occurs with 40 percent battery life remaining. Total claimed life is 6 hours but warnings will annoy you off the couch well before that. The user manual font is inexplicably small. Thankfully, one does not need the manual after initial setup. The item description on Crutchfield was confusing as it stated the BTA supported two devices. While you can connect headphone to two devices at once, you cannot connect two headph

Nice sound BUT (see review)

They work great however there is no way to have a Bluetooth soundbar and these to work together. It's basically a waste for me because my wife has to listen to the TV speakers which we all know aren't the best these days if I have the soundgear on. I contacted Crutchfield, Samsung, and JBL to see if there is a way to use them with my soundbar, no there is not.
Pros: Great sound
Cons: Will not play with soundbar or any other Bluetooth device if connected

JBL Soundgear BTA

I have a hearing problems. This device has helped me hear the TV and be able to hear speech and understand the movie. I don't have to crank the TV to full blast while using the BTA sound gear. So now I have a sound comfort level in my home and it doesn't disturb other family members while using the BTA by JBL. I did call jbl tech support to get it connnected. The instructions are written so small you need a magnifying glass to read them . Not for s 68 yr old wearing glasses.
Pros:
