500 watts of sheer impact

The Stage 1200D ported enclosure comes loaded with two of JBL's Stage 122AM 12" subwoofers, which handle up to 500 watts RMS together. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance gets the most possible power out of your mono amp. The slot-ported enclosure is made from rugged 5/8" MDF covered with black carpet to withstand the bumps and bruises of life in a car. JBL tunes the enclosure for maximum performance, so you can count on impressive low-end punch.

Customer Q&A

Q
Okay to use with a JBL GTR 601?
[ GREGORY  Mar 28, 2023 ]
1 answer
A
I think this is a fine pairing, Gregory. Technically speaking, the JBL GTR-601 amp delivers 600-watts RMS which is 100-watts more than the rated 500-watts RMS of the JBL Stage 1200D ported subwoofer enclosure. If you set your gain properly and do not use the Bass Boost feature on the amplifier the combination would perform well. It's hard to find more bang for the buck than with the JBL Stage 1200D dual 12" setup!

Q
What would be different if u didn't have an amp but had the sub?
[ Collin  Dec 05, 2022 ]
1 answer
A
This JBL Stage 1200D needs a mono subwoofer amp connected Collin, you will get poor performance and can even damage large subwoofers by connecting them to full range signals, especially straight to speaker wire outputs from head units. Use at the very minimum something like our Sound Ordnance M350-1 mono subwoofer amp in the link below. This is right in the sweet spot wattage wise of what the JBL Stage 1200D can handle RMS wattage wise, and it is a real bang for the buck value. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_777M3501/Sound-Ordnance-M350-1.html

To go from the amp to the sub you can use bare speaker wire but it will also accept banana, pin, and spade connectors too.
