Product Research

Backup Camera: This rear-view camera can be installed on a variety of vehicles with an in-dash aftermarket video monitor. Your aftermarket in-dash monitor must feature a composite video camera input. The camera allows you to view what's behind your vehicle on your in-dash monitor's screen when you put your vehicle in reverse.

Note: This rear-view camera is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

CMOS Image Sensor + Wide View Lens: The rear-view camera employs a CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 640 x 480 (effective pixels). The image sensor also incorporates auto white balance. The rear-view camera features a 170-degree wide view lens to help you see better behind your vehicle. The rear-view camera provides low-light visibility down to 0.5 lux.

Built-In Microphone: The rear-view camera even features a built-in omni-directional microphone to pick up sound behind your vehicle. Your aftermarket stereo must have a camera input which consists of not only a composite video jack, but also a mono-RCA jack for audio.

Parking Guidelines: The rear-view camera provides parking guidelines on the screen of your vehicle's in-dash monitor to help you back into a parking space. The parking guidelines cannot be turned off.

Audio/Video Connection: The rear-view camera comes with a 19.75' composite video/mono-RCA audio cable to run from the camera to the camera input (consisting of a composite video & mono-RCA jack) of your vehicle's in-dash monitor. An RCA-to-3.5mm audio adapter may be required for some receivers.

Weather Resistant Housing: The rear-view camera utilizes a weather resistant zinc alloy housing with a IP67 rating.

Mounting Bracket: The rear-view camera comes with a bracket that allows you to mount the camera under a flat surface on the back of your vehicle. Two screws and self-adhesive tape are supplied. The mounting bracket allows you to adjust the angle of the camera up or down.

Power Requirements: In addition to connecting the rear-view camera to your in-dash monitor's composite video camera input, you will also need to hardwire power and ground of the camera to your vehicle. Power can be obtained from your vehicle's reverse light circuit or from the reverse gear wire of your aftermarket stereo (if applicable). The ground will need to be connected to your vehicle's metal chassis.

Is this compatible with Dual XDVD176BT?
[ Jonathon  Sep 15, 2020 ]

The camera part will work with that Dual receiver. The microphone capability is only compatible with select Jensen receivers.
[ Paul  Sep 30, 2020 ]  Staff
Will this unit work with Boyo VTC207AHD??? as the Boyo unit does not offer the microphone in the camera?
[ Deuce  Sep 02, 2020 ]
1 answer
Unfortunately you would not be able to use this backup camera with the Boyo VTC207AHD for audio or video. The Boyo's connections are proprietary, and not compatible with the Jensen's RCA type connections, the Jensen will also require a mono RCA audio jack to connect with for audio purposes. Feel free to chat with us online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695, if you would like to go over this or other cameras in more detail.

Does it have to be drilled in to be mounted or will 3m tape work? I have a hatchback and I can't drill it in anywhere
[ Lance  Aug 14, 2020 ]
2 answers
It is very light weight, so if you use the right tape, you might be OK.
[ THOMAS S  Aug 26, 2020 ]
I've bought other cameras after this one that come with a piece of mounting tape and two small screws. Those are much lighter than the camera you are looking at. That said, the 3M tape is impressively strong if you clean the surfaces carefully with alcohol. You will of course need a quite large hole somewhere close to the camera to route the video and power cables into the car.
[ Jim  Aug 15, 2020 ]
Does it come with the licence plate?
[ Meyer  Jun 11, 2020 ]
4 answers
No, it is mounted on a bracket. You have to drill holes to mount it.
[ Reginald  Jun 11, 2020 ]
No it is just as pictured. Has a mounting bracket attach as shown in picture but no plate frame
[ Carles  Jun 11, 2020 ]
No, only the bracket to mount it. Good camera for the money.
[ THOMAS S  Jun 11, 2020 ]
No it does not. You will need to find a place to mount it
[ Dennis  Jun 11, 2020 ]
Do the backup guide lines move with the steering wheel or do they stay straight?
[ Eliza  May 30, 2020 ]
2 answers
They stay straight
[ Jeff  May 30, 2020 ]
Straight. This doesn't connect to the steering system so it can't know when you're turning the wheel.
[ Cameron  May 30, 2020 ]
How big is the camera?
[ Michelle  Mar 02, 2020 ]
1 answer
About an inch by inch. Really no bigger than factory installed
[ Jeremy  Mar 02, 2020 ]
Would this Jensen backup camera work with Kenwood DNX575S? Not sure if camera is universal.
[ Eric  Aug 24, 2019 ]
2 answers
camera is universal and will work with most touch screen media centers
[ DANNY  Aug 24, 2019 ]
From a video perspective, it should work fine. The Kenwood has 2 inputs for cameras. So, you could setup both a rear facing camera and a front facing camera
[ Robert  Aug 24, 2019 ]
Will this work with A Kentwood DDX3 stereo?
[ seth  May 03, 2019 ]
2 answers
It should work great for the video input. But, I don't think the Kenwood has an input for an additional audio source. So, I don't believe you will be able to take advantage of the built-in microphone on the backup camera. With that said, I think this is an excellent camera and I too am not able to use the audio.
[ Robert  May 12, 2019 ]
This camera's composite video connection makes it a great match for any video receiver with an RCA rear-view camera input. For more detailed information, feel free to reach out to our Advisor Team by phone, 1-800-324-9695, or online chat! They'll be happy to help!

Is wiring long enough for a dodge 4 door longbed ?
[ jeff  Jan 24, 2019 ]
2 answers
I installed it on my 28 foot RV with cable to spare. So, I think if you route the cable properly there should be no problem
[ Robert  Jan 24, 2019 ]
Probably not. I had to buy add a couple of extra feet of cable for it to work on my truck of similar length.
[ Brett  Jan 24, 2019 ]
What's the mic for i don't get it ?
[ Argent  Nov 28, 2018 ]
4 answers
To hear outside noise when rearing the car for better awareness.
[ Luis  Nov 28, 2018 ]
If you have an input for your head unit you can listen to someone giving you directions. For example, when backing up a large RV if you have someone assisting they can give you verbal directions as well as hand signals. I didn't hook mine up when I installed it, but I may do it in the future.
[ Robert  Nov 28, 2018 ]
The mic is impeded in the camera system. It is not External.
[ Carlos  Nov 28, 2018 ]
I eliminated the audio cable when the Cam was installed. Maybe it is in case that you can here a children nearby.
[ ALEX  Nov 28, 2018 ]

[ DANNY  Aug 24, 2019 ]
Both the audio and video connections are RCA plugs
[ Tim  Apr 21, 2018 ]
Both the video and mic connections use the same type of connector. I believe it is a rca type connection
