Upgrade your screen

Now you can add a big display and lots of music options to your ride with Jensen's CMM710 digital multimedia receiver, which consists of a 10.1" touchscreen display that attaches to a DIN-sized chassis. Jensen also includes a button to give you instant access to Siri® or Google Assistant.

Mirror your smartphone

With a Bluetooth® and a USB connection connection, you'll be able to mirror your iPhone or Android onto the Jensen's 10.1" screen, so you'll be able to keep your favorite navigation app running while you listen to your music.

Bluetooth matters

Bluetooth enables wireless streaming for stored music, music services, podcasts, and audiobooks. Of course, you'll be able to take and make calls too while keeping your hands on the wheel — an awesome safety feature when you're making your daily commute.

System-building tools

You can use the 10.1" touchscreen display for system control, media info, and as a monitor for both backup and front-view cameras (not included, see Accessories). The built-in USB port lets you connect a smartphone or a flash drive loaded with your music. Jensen also provides three sets of preamp outputs for amplifiers to power your speakers and subs. Plus, a 7-band EQ and seven equalizer presets give you nice options for tweaking the sound in your vehicle.

Installation note: Be sure to inspect your dash before ordering the CMM710. Even though your vehicle is equipped with a standard 2" single-DIN opening, this receiver may not be an ideal fit due to its large 10.1" touchscreen monitor interfering with essential equipment like climate controls.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

You'll need a wired connection to your parking brake to access settings and other features on this receiver. Your parking brake must be connected and set in order to view video on its screen.

    Touchscreen & Remote Control

10.1" Capacitive Touchscreen: The Jensen CMM710 includes an extra-large 10.1" capacitive touchscreen LCD monitor with LED backlit and a resolution of 1024x600 (614,400 total pixels). The large display is easy to see and navigate. The capacitive touchscreen provides a high contrast ratio, crystal clear display, and vivid text. It also provides highly responsive touchscreen operation. The 10.1" capacitive monitor attaches and plugs into the front of the CMM710's separate source unit which mounts in a standard 2" single-DIN opening in a variety of vehicles.

    • Display Settings: You can select from three different wallpaper images for the receiver's background. The unit also has 4 Dimmer level settings (High, Mid, Low, and Off). In addition, you can adjust the display's Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation, Sharpness.
    • Angle Adjustment: You can manually adjust the angle of the touchscreen monitor, up or down, and then lock it in place.
    • Detachable Panel: You can detach the capacitive touchscreen monitor by removing the mounting pin and disconnecting the harness. A soft carry pouch is included to store the detached touchscreen monitor.
    • Dimensions: The 10.1" capacitive touchscreen monitor measures 9.8125" (w) x 6.1875" (w) x 1.4375" (d).
Note: For safety reasons, you cannot view a video source on the built-in monitor as long as the vehicle is in motion. In order to display video, the head unit's pink wire must be hardwired into the vehicle's parking brake light circuit, and the vehicle's parking brake must be engaged.

Single-DIN Source Unit: The included source unit fits in a standard 2" single-DIN opening (applicable kit, harness, etc. will be required and sold separately for your vehicle). Once the source unit is mounted in the dash, the 10.1" touchscreen monitor attaches and plugs into the front of the source unit using the integrated wiring harness and mounting pin.

Note: The Jensen CMM710 will not fit in some vehicles with a standard 2" single-DIN opening due to its large 10.1" touchscreen monitor interfering with your vehicle's factory equipment on the dash.

Hard-Key Controls: In addition to its 10" capacitive touchscreen, the Jensen CMM710 offers hard-key controls on top of the touchscreen monitor. These hard-key controls consist of four push-buttons that operate Power, Volume, Mute, and Push-to-Talk functions.

J-Link Smart Remote App: The free J-Link Smart Remote app (for Apple iOS 12.1+ and Android OS 4.4+) turns your Bluetooth connected Apple or Android mobile device into a wireless remote control for the Jensen CMM710 receiver, and provides a "NAV" button.

    • Head Unit Control: This app controls most of the primary functions of your receiver, including Power On/Off, Source Selection, AM/FM Tuning & Presets, Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track, as well as Volume, Mute, & EQ.
    • NAV Button: Once the app is installed your smartphone and the CMM710 is connected via Bluetooth, the "NAV" button on the CMM710's touchscreen monitor allows you stream audio from your favorite navigation app on your connected phone through your car speaker system (visual navigation is still done from your smartphone and not the Jensen receiver).

IR Remote The head unit comes supplied with a 37-button IR remote control which provides wireless operation of the Jensen digital media receiver, including Bluetooth phone answer/end.

Optional Steering Wheel Controls: The unit features a SWC (steering wheel control) input which lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel control adapter from PAC or Metra (see Accessories tab).

    USB & Smartphone Integration

USB Screen Mirroring: Through the USB port (on side of touchscreen monitor) and Bluetooth connection, the Jensen CMM710 can mirror the screen of your Apple iPhone (iOS 12.1+) with Lightning connector or Android smartphone (OS 4.4+) on its 7" LCD touchscreen monitor. You'll also be able to hear audio from your mirrored device through your car speakers. USB Mirroring allows you to integrated your favorite apps with the Jensen receiver. Enjoy navigation apps, entertainment apps, and more through the Jensen CMM710. Some video and photo images and apps may not display horizontally across the entire screen of Jensen receiver; some images will only display vertically. The Jensen receiver does not offer touchscreen of your mobile device; you will still continue to use your mobile device's touchscreen for control.

    • Apple iOS Device Setup: Press the USB Mirroring source icon on the receiver's touchscreen. Connect your iPhone to the head unit's front-panel USB. You will then see a prompt on your iPhone's screen to "trust" the connected device. Tap on the "trust" button. You will need to perform this procedure everytime you connect your iPhone device.
    • Android Device Setup: Press the USB Mirroring source icon on the receiver's touchscreen. Connect your Android smartphone via Bluetooth first and then connect to the head unit's front-panel USB. You will be prompted to download a proprietary app that must be installed on your Android phone. The app will take you through a variety of prompts that will need to be accepted. Once you've completed the installation of the app, you'll need to tap the "re-connect" button on the receiver's touchscreen to start mirroring your phone's screen. You will need to perform this procedure everytime you connect your Android device.
    Notes:
    • USB Mirroring requires that your vehicle be stopped and the parking brake be fully engaged. You will need to connect the parking brake wire within the wiring harness of the Jensen receiver to your vehicle's parking brake circuit.
    • Initial setup, connection, and installation of the USB Mirror feature does require that your vehicle's parking brake be engaged. The pink wire of the radio's harness must be connected to your vehicle's parking brake circuit and your vehicle's Parking Brake must be engaged to begin setup and connection of the USB Mirror feature.
    • Apple iOS and Android OS updates may cause the USB Screen Mirroring feature to not function properly. Make sure the Jensen CMM710 has the latest firmware update installed. Firmware updates for the CMM710 can be found on Jensen's mobile website and downloaded onto a USB thumbdrive for installation.

USB MSC Playback: The USB port (on side of touchscreen monitor) can also be used to connect a USB MSC (mass storage class device), such as a USB thumbdrive. The CMM710 supports playback of MP3 and FLAC music files, as well as Xvid and MP4 video files. The unit will recognize up to 2000 files, 200 folders, and 2000 files per folder on a USB MSC device formatted in FAT 16 or FAT 32.

Notes: This head unit's USB port does not support USB hubs or card readers.

microSD Card Slot: In addition to USB integration, the Jensen CMM710 features a microSD card slot (on top of touchscreen monitor) for plabyack of MP3 and FLAC music files, as well as Xvid and MP4 video files on a microSD/SDHC memory card. The unit will recognize up to 2000 files, 200 folders, and 2000 files per folder on a microSD/SDHC memory card formatted in FAT 16 or FAT 32.

    • Control: The CMM710 provides various playback & search functions that include Folder/File List, Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, and Random/Repeat.
    • Display: The CMM710 will display artist name, song title and album title (including album art). It also displays the elapsed playing time of a song or track.

    • Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Multi-Device Pairing: Before using the unit's Bluetooth functions, you must pair your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or audio device to the CMM710. You can pair up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices to the Jensen head unit, but only one can be used at a time. When an already paired Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically connects the device and receiver.

Hands-Free Communication (w/ integrated mic): The CMM710 supports Bluetooth hands-free communication from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. You can answer an incoming call from the head unit's touchscreen and carry on a phone conversation hands-free. You can increase or decrease the volume level of a call, using the head unit's rotary knob on the front panel. You can also transfer calls between the receiver and your Bluetooth enabled phone.

    • Answering A Call: During an incoming call, the caller's phone number or assigned contact name will be seen on the unit's LCD and a ring-tone will be heard through your car stereo speakers. You can then manually answer the incoming call from the head unit's touchscreen. You can also set the unit to automatically answer an incoming call within 5 seconds. Any audio playback will be muted during a call. You can even reject an incoming call using the CMM710, so the call will revert to your phone's voice mail.
    • Making A Call: You can make a call using the Jensen in-dash head unit's touchscreen controls. Outgoing calls can be made be entering telephone numbers directly via the head unit's touchscreen keypad. You can also make a call from your phone's transferred phonebook (manually transferred) using the Jensen's CMM710 touchscreen. In addition, you can use the receiver's call log (which consists of dialed numbers, received call, and missed calls) to make a call from the CMM710's touchscreen. If your phone supports voice recognition, you can even use your voice to dial a number from your contacts.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Jensen CMM710 allows you to play back stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablet, or audio player. You can control basic music playback functions (Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track) from the CMM710. Advanced music navigation will still need to be done through your Bluetooth mobile device. This unit will also display song/artist information (no album art) from a connected Bluetooth audio device. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Push-To-Talk Voice Assistant: When connected via Bluetooth to an iPhone with Siri or Android smartphone with Google Assistant or Bixby, you can access the mobile device's digital voice assistant through the Jensen receiver by pressing the "Push-to-Talk" button on the front-panel. You'll speak your command into the head unit's front-panel microphone and the digital voice assistant will be heard through your vehicle's speakers (music playback will be attenuated). Compatible digital voice assistant functions include hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more. You'll be able to ask your digital voice assistant get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your compatible smartphone. The head unit's audio is attenuated while the digital voice assistant provides voice prompts.

    Q
Can you change the position of the screen so it sits on the lower portion of the deck instead of above the deck?

    7 answers
    A
I'm not sure why you are asking. The screen or the monitor is movable up and down at least a good 2 1/2 3 inches and it's tiltable
    [ GARY  Aug 11, 2020 ]
    A
The mount is fixed at the bottom, but it does tilt
    [ DAVID  Aug 10, 2020 ]
    A
No, because the cables that attach to the screen is not long enough.
    [ MELVIN  Aug 10, 2020 ]
    A
I think you'd have to mount the deck upside down-which might be doable but make awe fully diiflcult to disconnect screen. My plan is to lower screen height by mounting deck in lower position of dash opening. Really like this unit!
    [ BLAKE B  Aug 10, 2020 ]
    A
No. The Sony units you can, but not this unit. It only tilts
    [ Sean  Aug 10, 2020 ]
    A
The unit does go up and down and swivel
    [ ISRAEL  Aug 10, 2020 ]
    A
The screen moves up and down about 3 inches. I have it mounted in a Mini Cooper and it doesn't move enough to not block my gas gauges.

No all you can do is tilt it up and down

Yes. There is a screen dimmer that has 4 settings: normal (bright), dim, dimmer, and off.
    [ Elena  Jul 17, 2020 ]
    Q
Has anyone else has trouble getting the screen mirror function to work? The device won't allow me to press allow at the warning.

    A
I spoke with the Jensen rep earlier. I also experienced this. The wire labeled, "parking brake" (pink) must be grounded. I connected mine to the regular ground. Once that is done, you shouldn't have a problem.
    [ Elena  Jul 17, 2020 ]
    Q
To anybody else that has purchased the unit have yâ??all had issues with screen mirroring? I get stuck on the warning screen and it wonâ??t allow me to press accept.

Do you have Drongscreen app installed.
    [ MELVIN  Aug 10, 2020 ]

Did you try turning the unit off and then on again? Sometimes the upper1/5 th of the screen has a scrambled appearance but I did not lose any functionality. I did the off/on routine and the screen was fine after that.
    [ George  Jul 13, 2020 ]
    A
Yes. You need to attach the parking brake (pink) wire to ground.
    [ Mary  Jul 13, 2020 ]
    Q
Other than the double din what's the difference between this unit and the car1000? I also noticed a few negative reviews is this a problematic unit or are these just some isolated issues?
    [ Edward  Jul 08, 2020 ]

The unit is much cheaper than the high-in touch screens, so it's much different and you have less options. It's still a great unit for the price.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

    Q
Can the screen only be installed with the unit on the bottom or can it be flipped?
    [ Michael  Jun 22, 2020 ]

    A
I have one and I don't think so . It does not have motion sensor to invert the screen and the mount is not movable its fixed to the display back, where the plug interface is and that can not move . One could only be clever and create their own mount and an extension cable, and there are none available that I know of.

Can you add a audio control 2xs and which preamp outputs do i use?
    [ Bradley  May 27, 2020 ]

The Audiocontrol 2XS can be used with this receiver, but you may not need to use it because it already has a subwoofer preamp output. I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your goals and system to get a personal recommendation

Can the screen be mounted in different place than the main unit? If not with factory wiring, could an extension ribbon be manufactured to all the screen to be mounted away from the unit?

I did not open the box. I returned it because it will not fit in a Lotus Elise.

If you have the know how and the skills I do not see why you could not

You would have to ask Crutchfield whether an extension ribbon is available. I installed my unit on a 1999 Mercedes CLK 320. The screen blocks some of the climate control buttons, however, the screen can be easily tilted to get better access to controls behind the screen. I could provide some photos it that would help.

Hey Jordan, the screen mirroring worked for short period of time which wasn't very impressive at all. Fortunately the Bluetooth works so I can listen to my music apps from my iPhone. The USB connection feature doesn't work either except for the ability to charge my phone when plugged in.

Mirroring is not too good. I have to push the rest button on mine sometimes to get it to come on.
