Our take on the Jensen VX7528

I've got enough to think about when I'm driving to worry about a confusing turn that's coming up. Jensen's VX7528 navigation receiver combines stress-free guidance with loads of entertainment options, so you can stay on track and stay entertained all the way. And it links wirelessly with your phone for music streaming and hands-free calling.

On track

I've got enough to think about when I'm driving to worry about a confusing turn that's coming up. Jensen's VX7528 navigation receiver combines stress-free guidance with loads of entertainment options, so you can stay on track and stay entertained all the way. And it links wirelessly with your phone for music streaming and hands-free calling.

Comprehensive guidance

The VX7528 boasts maps of the entire U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with an extensive database of over 10 million points of interest. You'll see the maps laid out clearly on the receiver's easy-to-follow 6.2" screen, while an improved user interface makes finding your way a piece of cake. iGO primo navigation software ensures you're getting the most reliable routes, while lane guidance keeps you on the right path for your next maneuver. In some instances, you'll see realistic depictions of complicated intersections or 3D representations of buildings and landmarks to help orient yourself.

Call hands-free with Bluetooth®

Built-in Bluetooth connectivity lets you make and take calls with your compatible phone through the VX7528. Jensen includes an external microphone so your callers won't have to struggle to hear your voice over road noise and wind. This Jensen gives you full access to your phonebook, so you can keep your phone safely stowed away.

Music streaming

Built-in A2DP technology allows you to stream music from your smartphone through this receiver, so you can access all the music on your Android™ phone or iPhone®, whether it's stored music files or streaming services. If you've got Pandora Internet radio on your iPhone, you can control it through the VX7528's interface via USB.

Take your music and video to go

This receiver will play all your CDs and DVDs, including discs loaded with music files, while rear A/V inputs offer connections for more audio/video sources. Go ahead and load up your iPod® or thumb drive with tunes for your travels — the receiver's front USB port provides convenient access, not to mention plenty of charging power for your devices.

When you're parked, you can enjoy movies from DVDs or other video sources on the receiver's display. Jensen includes a wireless remote control, allowing your passengers to pick the playlist.

No matter your audio source, the VX7528's 8-band equalizer lets you tweak the settings to suit your listening preferences.

Add on and enjoy

Satellite radio's a wonderful way to keep track of sports, news, talk, and commercial-free music as you travel, and you can access all that wonderful programming by adding a SiriusXM tuner (not included) to this car stereo. Your favorite stations follow you everywhere and, even better, you can view the channel art on the big screen. You can also connect both front- and rear-view cameras, so you can see more of what's around your vehicle when getting in and out of tight spots. If you're looking to add subs and amps, you can take advantage of 6-volt front, rear, and subwoofer preamp outputs.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Great stereo side, mediocre NAV system at best.

    2011 Ford Escape
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, nice stereo, good features, great sound. VERY satisfied with the radio side of the unit. NAV feature, not so impressed. VERY difficult to input an address or destination, or even to adjust the settings. For some reason the touch screen becomes extremely sluggish, and almost unresponsive when in the NAV portion of the software. Once entered, it seems to generate a route reasonably fast, and seems to have decent directions. Haven't really tried it on a long road trip yet, and it may work just fine for that; but for around town use with a lot of input interaction, it seems as if it's going to be better to just stick with Google maps on our phones.

Pros: Stereo functions and sounds are great! Tons of features, all work extremely well on the audio side. AWESOME sound improvement over the factory radio, even staying with the factory speakers.

Cons: NAV system interaction is HORRIBLE. Input screens are sluggish to the point that it's almost unusable. Hopefully this will smooth out over time, maybe the system is needing an update. Once destination is set, the NAV system seems to work reasonably well. But trying to get the information input into the unit is like herding cats. Could have used a voice input option to bypass the poor touchscreen response in the NAV system.

Easy to install as far as you carefully read and follow the provided instructions. The unit works perfectly. However, to set up and operate I downloaded and printed the full owners manual from the Jensen website ( 37 pages). This was installed in my 99 Porsche Boxster.

Scott from Oviedo, FL on 1/27/2019

    1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Radio is great, switching between sources takes a little getting used to. Bluetooth and pandora work good, and the extended mike is great for handsfree phone calls. Getting the unit into a 1999 F250 Super Duty truck is not fun. The dash kit is poorly made, instructions are terrible. Barely fits but well worth the work when it is done.

Pros: Nice upgrade for the stock radio Added external USB plugs to the dashboard and Video in.

Cons: Headache to install Trim plate is NOT for the Ford Super duty Truck, as least not 1999 Would have been nice if they add the guide for the ford rail that's underneath, the only thing to support the stereo and the cheap side plastic guides that they nail you 25 bucks which makes you trim the opening, better have a dremel and steady hands. Install kit should be made for the car you buy it for....

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The stereo was an easy install and has great features, it was compatable with my stock steering wheel controls, bluetooth, and inputs. It even came with a usb port just for charging accesories. Some of the little things are annoying such as the backup camera does not automatically appear (have to choose the input first) and the software is not super intuitive. i have a little trouble switching between navigation and radio. It does everything it says it would and has great features, it just takes a little patience to learn the software. All in all i am not dissapointed in my purchase, but may have shelled out a 200 more for another model if i could've tested it side by side with some higher end models.

GPS/ headunit is ok at best ... installed in my 2006 4runnera and there is a gap on either side of the headunit as the trim pieces they sent me didn't fit. Would not buy again, delay between switching inputs. Save your money buy a different unit.

    Pros: Cheap

Cons: Doesn't fit 2006 4runner well Lags between input switches No solution to gaps in dashboard from tech support

Nice replacement for original radio. Only had it for one month. Some instructions were not as clear as they should have been.

Pros: Great replacement for original car radio and price was fair. Tech support was great.

Cons: 1) There is a delay between changing sources (Radio, GPS, etc...) 2) instructions are not clear on how to use the various functions 3) steering controls instructions were not clear. I was not aware that there were several changes I needed to make before I installed the unit to use my steering controls. To fix this, I would have to unassemble and change the code manually (per tech support).

David from McCall, ID on 1/19/2019

    2006 Toyota Tundra
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this stereo because of the features and because the website said it would fit my 2006 Toyota Tundra pickup. The website also said I'd need side mounting brackets - which I purchased. When I pulled the factory radio out of the dash, I discovered that different mounting brackets weren't necessary and I took the mounting brackets off the factory radio and installed on the new radio. As for fitting my 2006 Toyota Tundra, the trim ring provided, leaves about a 1/4" gap on either side of the radio. Makes installation look "cheesy." I called tech support and they said, "well you can buy a universal mounting trim and cut to fit." I'll find my own solution that looks better than a hacked-up piece of plastic.

Pros: Easy install, good sound and easy to set-up.

Cons: Trim ring doesn't fit 06' Toyota Tundra pickup, sold me items I didn't need for the install and not impressed by tech support's solution.

    Great multi-function Device

    2008 Ford F-150
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just finished the installation of this product. It was the 3rd time I had to install since the first two did not work wither right out of the box or after only 1/2 hour of working. I like the features and hope the long term quality is not reflected in the issues with the first two units. It does all the things that are described and seems pretty user friendly so set up and use. The screen is easy to see and the options are all easy to select from. I have installed a back up camera and that function is also working well.

    Pros: Many features

Cons: First two units did not work

    Feature rich.

    2011 Chrysler 200
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Really happy with the VX7528. The navigation is great, our free update required a phone call to Crutchfield for instructions - and a Windows computer (Mac users be warned). BT works great, lots of features and user choices of colors and backgrounds. No back up camera in our install, but sound is automatically lowered (considerably) when selecting reverse - a nice feature! Crutchfield tech support was great to work with, we put this unit in a 2011 Chrysler 200 and will provide additional details and pics to tech support for other C200 owners. The unit does take a few seconds to spool up, but it is a giant leap forward in capabilities from the OEM radio. Would recommend this unit.

Pros: Great Nav, reverse interrupt lowers sound level, cool graphics, BT streaming and phone calls work great, looks good!

Cons: No paper manuals (Crutchfield provided pdf's), Nav update is not intuitive (required tech support help), slight lack of vehicle specific instructions - but will be providing thise to Crutchfield (they are great to work with).

Great unit for the price - loaded with features

    2015 Jeep Wrangler
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit is great for the price. I installed the unit (with some help) on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. I purchased it before Jenson came out with the manual (Nov 2018) yet the features were easy to learn. The GPS navigation is loaded with features and has an easy to understand screen. Choosing a unique voice (male or female + different accents) for GPS turn by turn instructions is a nice option. Sound is great plus full equalizer controls. The backup camera works great and it has a unique grid on the screen to help determine true distance to objects. I bought the Sirius XM radio plus antenna and I used velcro to mount it on the upper left of my front windshield (inside) since I didn't want the wiring outside or drill a hole in my roof. The signal is largely unaffected. Thanks to Crutchfield's excellent customer service they sold me all the parts I needed. And the Bluetooth plus radio controls work from the steering wheel.

Pros: Price, features, easy to learn controls

Cons: Included fold out installation directions wasn't very useful.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Jensen VX7528 works like a charm. Best navigation you can buy for the price. Most navigation system cost over $800. I looked around the internet and found Crutchfield had the best price. I will purchase other items for my car. Customer service was outstanding. Anthony answered all of my questions and he made the transaction a great experience. My car is all blacked out and I wanted a system that was all black. Anthony walked me thru the process. Check out the photos i have attached to this review. I also referred a friend to you guys. He was going to buy a higher priced nav unit. After he saw mine he is going to purchase the same unit from you guys. What better advertisement. Sweet Unit.

Pros: Best unit for the price. I looked around an all other units were priced at $800 dollars and above.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

i bought this unit based on previous reviews. My technical advisor was knowledgeable and helpful. I was excited when the unit arrived. Once installed, I was immediately disappointed. The display and graphics seem like 20 year old technology. Very non-intuitive controls and difficult to navigate through the different functions. The remote control buttons are poorly labeled with confusing abbreviations. Once you figure out how to use it, ,the unit does what it says it does, although the experience is not very pleasant. If I had seen a video on how the display really looked in use, I would have bought something else. Some of the units offered by Crutchfield have videos showing actual performance. All of them should have it.

Pros: Sound quality good Graphic equalizer and acoustic compensation function works well Phone sound quality ok

Cons: - Poor graphics and readability - Remote is confusing and poorly labeled- - Navigation graphics primitive - Shifting between functions awkward

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation was in my sons 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. Seems like a nice unit installation went fairly well, pretty straight forward to operate except still learning some of the GPS functions. One minor quirk, It would be worth the extra money to send the GPS manual instead of having to download it from Jensen. Unit fit perfectly and using the interface adapter and mounting kit was defiantly the way to go as it looks and sounds like a factory install while keeping the steering wheel control and key in ignition beeper, the mic (for hands free phone) was small enough to mount in the trim panel next to the gauge cluster which worked out great because that trim panel had to be removed anyway..

Nice Radio unit. I having some trouble with the back-up camera. Hopefully will fix that tomorrow. Navigation works well. There is a learning curve with the phone application. A remote that attaches to the steering wheel for the phone would have been nice. Mostly pleased. The wire harness service worked well and I highly recommend it.

Pros: Nice display, lots of FM and AM station storage. Good Navigation so far.

Cons: You must select Bluetooth Phone from the unit to make a call (not so hands-free).

    Is Maestro compatible important?

Rick from Clarksville, TN on 12/24/2018

    2018 Ford F-150 XLT
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Seems to be a good unit at the entry level price point for an in-dash navigation system. Seems to be a delay/lag in touch screen response. All features are great for the price. Unit installed in a 2018 Ford F150. The challenge is that you most likely will lose OEM sync. That's okay-the receiver makes up for it. BUT-it's important to know that as of 24 Dec 2018, this model is not considered a Maestro/iDatalink compatible radio. That's key to retaining the steering wheel controls. This DIY'er is having major challenges flashing the recommended/required Maestro module to work with the steering wheel controls and the Jensen. After Maestro tech support returns from Christmas break - I'm hoping there's a firmware fix. If not-Two options: 1. keep Jensen, no steering wheel controls. 2. Return Jensen, order a Maestro/iDatalink compatible radio. Visit Maestro's website for a list - wish I had known this before the purchase and attempted and delayed install. Apparently there's a simple idatalink cable from the Maestro module directly to the compatible radio which "guarantees" success as opposed to connecting via wiring harness.

    Pros: Great price Great features

Cons: Touch screen response delay Not considered a Maestro/iDatalink compatible radio. Might lose Ford OEM sync and/or steering wheel controls.

Love the radio. Bluetooth works great, GPS is awesome and you can save addresses. Not giving it five stars because there is no manual on how to operate the radio itself. I also bought the backup camera and that also didn't give instructions how to wire it so that's still sitting in the box.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This really isn't about the radio, it's about the lack of Crutchfield who touts all this stuff about tech support and hearing from customers...we'll hear this, nowhere did it mention in all the guidance via pdf's provided and matrices and web pages and so on that I would need some obscure adapter cable for the antenna on a vanilla truck like a 2009 Silverado 2500! So consequently, I took my dash apart then found out the hard way and had to put it all back together and go hunting for a cable then wait...I got one yesterday which was the wrong one...not going to be buying here again.

Crutchfield response on 1/8/2019 We're sorry to hear about the issues with the antenna adapter for your installation. One of our Tech Support Specialists, AJ, reached out to inform this customer that the antenna adapter for this customer's Jensen was actually included with the GMOS-LAN-01 interface that was included with his order. It's a great idea to check all the inventory included with your purchase. AJ provided some compensation for this customer purchasing the antenna adapter locally.

head unit installed easily and sounds great for the price. boot time is a bit slow, but everything functions well. Instructions are limited to quick start and even the Jensen website is lacking an OCM. Considering the price I would buy this again.

Like unit, works very well, looks factory with installation kit. Only thing I would prefer were better is info from Jensen, needs manual either in box or truly online on web site. Called Jensen customer service and it went to voice mail, left contact info and number and still have not heard from them in over a week since install. Sound great with new speakers I installed, plenty of power and bass. I like it.

I really like this unit and it sounds great in my Acura MDX, but, I called the company to get the full owners manual and was told one isn't yet available. Who releases a product with just a quick start guide and not a detailed manual describing all of the available features and controls? It is frustrating as I want the best possible understanding of the unit and all of its abilities.

Pros: Great sound and GPS looks good and informative.

Cons: No full manual produced yet by the manufacturer.

I installed this in my 2014 Mustang and it fit well. The sound is good. It's easy to use and I especially like the large display button when you get a phone call. It imported my phone's phone book easily, automatically and flawless. GPS and backup functions work well. The sound is great and the equalizer makes a big difference in sound. Good value for the price. Good install directions.

Pros: Sound, GPS, Backup camera, DVD, CD, Equalizer, value.

Cons: Steering wheel controls did not work. Maybe I missed something. I did not want to pull it out again.

1st thing you want to do right after installation is update your map SD card. With the radio off, remove the micro sad card and plug it into your PC Card slot. Go to the naviextras website and download the Navi toolbox. Then , backup a copy 1st and download updates 2nd. I have not driven anywhere as of yet to test out Navigation. I can tell quality of sound is a lot cleaner than the stock radio. I am old school so I like to keep the cd slot in this model . I love the Bluetooth hand free option. This is s great radio! Sure you have to wait on back order but you won't regret it . When you purchase this radio, please buy the PAC module to integrate the wiring and metra plastic kit. It works seamlessly and is plug and play. Easy Peezy ! Enjoy

Pros: Bluetooth Sound Quality Cost of unit Navigation

Cons: Wait on out of stock for this model

I have the progressive lineup of these Jensen units in my vehicles over the past few years and loved them. This latest is good, but a little tricky to get Nav on and radio on at same time. Just not submenu when Nav is on to achieve this without guessing at button trials. I use vehicles for work so need the Nav which is great in my area, Florida. Maybe need to add submenu in Nav screen for basic Audio functions . I still love it.

After a four and a half month wait for the sysyem the installation was not that bad. I had problems with programming the aswc-1. I ended up calling axxess interface. Now I wish I had a manual for VX7528 to determine why sometimes a function works and sometimes not. It's going on a trip this weekend, we'll see how well the gps works. I haven't printed out the gps manual yet. It's 96 pages.

    Onboard Navigation

iGO Primo Next Gen & TomTom Navigation: The Jensen VX7528 contains map coverage of the United States (all 50 states), Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands with over 10,000,000 points-of-interests from TomTom; all stored on the pre-installed 8GB microSD card (the microSD card must remain installed at all times). The map database was created using high-resolution aerial and land based data collection. The VX7528 employs iGO Primo Next Gen navigation software for turn-by-turn visual and voice assistance to your selected destination. The software quickly calculates step-by-step directions to any destination available on the included on-screen navigation map.

Note: While the receiver's map database was judged to be as accurate as possible at the time of its release (2017), a map database can never be 100% accurate. Road information that is maintained in the map databases, such as turn restrictions or road names may change over time.

Map Updates: iGO offers periodic updates (purchase fees will apply) for data such as roads, new addresses, and other navigational information that will keep the Jensen navigation system up to date and provide the best possible experience. For updates and add-on options, please visit (requires Windows XP or newer; not compatible with Mac). A free program called "Toolbox" can be downloaded from this website so you can create a copy of your map as a backup, as well as assist in easily checking for updates and optional features that are available.

Note: You have 30 days from purchase to download the latest available map free of charge.

GPS Receiver & Antenna: The Jensen VX7528 features a built-in GPS receiver and includes an external GPS antenna which determines vehicle speed and heading changes, along with longitude and latitude information, to accurately determine vehicle heading and position on the system's digital map. The GPS antenna is designed to be mounted on top of your dash inside the vehicle or on the roof outside of the vehicle.

    • Start-Up Time: The Jensen VX7528 takes approximately 12.7 seconds to go from "off" to the last source selected. The unit takes approximately 37.1 seconds to go from "off" to the navigation map.
    • Calculation Time: The navigation receiver took approximately 12.7 seconds to calculate directions from Charlottesville, Virginia to Los Angeles, California. It only took 7.1 seconds to calculate directions from Charlottesville, Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland. These tests were done inside the Crutchfield Lab of the Crutchfield Head Quarters. Results will vary based on length of calculated route and your surrounding area.

On-Screen Map: The unit's on-screen map shows your vehicle's current position (a blue arrow by default), the recommended route (an orange line), the surrounding map area, and your destination as a checkered flag. The on-screen map shows streets, roads, and highways in a way that is similar to how a paper road map show them. A road's width and colors corresponds to their importance, so you can easily tell a freeway from a small street. When navigating a route, the top section of the map screen shows information about your next route maneuver and the next street or the next city/town. When approaching a turn, the map screen will zoom in and raise the view angle to let you easily recognize your maneuver at the next junction. If the next turn is at a distance, it will zoom out and lower the view angle to be flat so you can see the road in front of you. The map also displays data; such as the posted speed limit, your current speed, current time, distance to your destination, time left before you reach your destination, and your arrival time.

    • 3D/2D Map View: Switch between a 3D or 2D map view. The 3D map view provides three-dimensional terrain (including hills & mountains), elevated roads (like overpasses or bridges), plus three-dimensional landmarks and buildings. Similar to paper road maps, the 2D mode, shows you streets, roads, and elevation by color.
    • Color Mode: The navigation map screen uses different color themes (Day/Night) during the day and during the night for both the map and the menu screen. Daytime colors are similar to paper road maps, and the menus are bright. The nigh color themes use dark colors for large objects to keep the average brightness of the screen low. You can also set the navigation unit to switch between daytime and night color modes automatically based on the current time and GPS position.
Note: You can continue to listen to a selected source while viewing the on-screen navigation map.

Lane Information & Signposts: The Jensen VX7528's navigation map offers helpful lane information and signpost guidance, along with junction & tunnel view, plus freeway services.

    • Lane Information: When navigation on multilane roads, it is important to take the appropriate lane in order to follow the recommended route. If lane information is available in the map data, the map screen will display the lanes and their directions using small arrows at the bottom of the map. High lighted arrows represent the lanes you need to take.
    • Signposts: Where additional information is available, signposts substitute arrows. Signposts are displayed at the top of the map. The color and style of the signposts are similar to the real ones you can see above the road or by the roadside, They show the available destinations and the number of the road the lane leads to.
    • Junction View: If you are approaching a freeway exit or a complex intersection and the needed information exists, the map is replaced with a 3D view of the junction. The lanes you need to take are displayed with arrows. Signposts can also be present, if information is available.
    • Tunnel View: When entering a tunnel, the map is replaced with a generic tunnel image so that surface roads and buildings will not distract you.
    • Freeway Services: When you are driving on a freeway, the map will display the next few service stations and restaurants available at the upcoming exits.

Audible Alerts: The Jensen VX7528 offers various audible alerts and functions to help you get to your destination safely.

    • Voice Guidance w/ TTS: In addition to graphic directions, the VX7528 provides voice guidance with turn-by-turn, TTS (text-to-speech) instructions with the announcement of street and road names. You can select from English, French, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese audible languages. The volume of the voice prompts can be increased with increases in speed to overcome road noise. Voice guidance can be turned off if you prefer.
    • Safety Alert: This function can warn you when you approach road safety cameras, school zones, or railroad crossings (if available). You can also add your own alert points. Beeps or the spoken type of alert will be heard when you are approaching of these points.
    • Speed Limit Warning: Some maps may contain information about the speed limits of certain road segments. The VX7528 provides an audible warning if you exceed the recommended speed limit.
Note: While navigating, other sources may be selected and listened to; such as AM/FM Tuner, Disc, USB, iPod, & Bluetooth. The unit will mute the audio of the other source during navigation voice-prompts.

Destinations & Location: The Jensen VX7528 provides you with your location status, as well as offers you a variety of ways to search for a destination.

    • Where Am I?: This screen contains information about the current position (or approximately the last known position if GPS reception is not available) and a button to search for Car Repair, Health Agencies, Police, and Gas Stations around your area.
    • Find Destination: From the "Find" menu, you can select your destination by entering an address or selecting a place of interest (11,000,000 POIs), a location on the map or one of your Favorite destinations. You can also look up your recent destinations from Smart History, enter a coordinate, or use the location saved in a photo. iGO primo offers you several ways of choosing your destination:
      • Browse Map: Select a point on the map for your destination by touching the screen.
      • Address: Enter a full address or a part of an address; for example a street name without a house number or the names of two intersecting streets. Or enter ZIP code only; this way you do not need to select the name of the city and the search for street names might be faster as well.
      • POIs: Search over 10 million POIs (points-of interest) by name, near you current location, along route, near your destination, or around a city. Quick Search POI categories make it easier to search for Gas Stations, Accommodations, Restaurants, and Parking.
      • Favorites: You can save your favorite addresses (like home & work) and POIs for quicker access the next time you are traveling.
      • History: The places that you have set as destinations in the past are automatically stored for easier access. Smart History suggests these previously used locations as destinations based on your navigation habits, using parameters like the current time of day, the day of week, and the current location.
      • Search In All: You can enter a destination by simply typing in a "keyword" and the unit will search for Addresses, POIs, Favorites, and History.
      • Coordinates: Allows you to search your destination by longitude and latitude values.

Route Calculation: The Jensen VX7528 calculates your route based on your Vehicle Type, Route Method, and Avoidances.

    • Vehicle Type: You select what type of vehicle you are driving, so the navigation unit can determine the best route based on your vehicle type (Car, Emergency, Bus, or Taxi).
    • Route Method: You can choose which route method (Fastest, Shortest, Green, Economical, or Easy) the navigation unit should use when calculating your route.
      • Fastest: gives a quick route, if you can travel at or near the speed limit on all roads. Usually the best section for fast and normal cars
      • Shortest: gives a route that has the smallest total distance of all possible routes. It can be practical for slow vehicles
      • Green: gives a quick, but full efficient route based on the fuel consumption data you provide
      • Easy: results in a route with fewer turns and no difficult maneuvers
    • Avoidances: You can tell the navigation unit to avoid certain types of roads along your calculated route, such as - Highways, Tolls, Carpool/HOV, Unpaved Roads, and/or Ferries.

Plan A Trip: Plan a trip with the VX7528 using Route Planner and preview your trip on the Itinerary page, plus get a simulated look at your pre-calculated route.

    • Route Planner: The Route Planner feature lets you built your route using the list of destinations you have chosen. You can modify the list as you like (adding or removing a destination (waypoint), changing a final destination, or setting a new starting position.
    • Itinerary Page: The Itinerary page displays turn-by-turn instructions for your entire route and the distance between turns.
    • Route Simulation: You can preview all the route information and simulate travel along a projected route.

Modify Your Route: Modify your route before you get started or while in route to your destination.

    • Route Alternatives: You can select "Route Alternative" to see the turn-list and map screen of four routes (Fastest/Shortest/Economical/Easy) with the selected route planning parameters, giving you the option to select which route to take.
    • Detour: You can also choose to Detour around the road ahead, avoid a specific road, or around a section of the route.
    • Automatic Route Recalculation: The unit will automatically recalculate your route if you stray from the navigation unit's previously calculated route.

Trip Monitor & Logs: The Trip Monitor contains useful information about your trip. Trip Logs can be saved manually when you reach your destination or automatically along your route. Trip log data includes; Start/End Time, Avg./Max. Speed, Total/Driving/Stopped Time, Total Distance, and Min./Max. Altitude.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Jensen VX7528 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth, allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. Sorry I am not that technically involved with this unit so I can't really answer this question. I personally like the options and the sound is awesome comparing to my previous stereo system. [ HAMID G  Dec 31, 2018 ]
Felix, at least in my application, 2005 F150, the screen does not dim automatically when the headlights are turned on. Also for you consideration, if you install a backup camera, the unit will not automatically project the camera image when you go into reverse. You must manually select the backup camera. [ Michael  Dec 10, 2018 ]
    yes it will ! [ DAVID  Dec 09, 2018 ]
It Changes to Night time colors that you select. I do not know of a sensor that is light activated on this unit, but it works excellently. [ DALE  Dec 09, 2018 ]
Mine did not dim. I liked it at first but had lots of trouble. I would recommend you step up to Pioneer and forget Jensen. [ Larry  Dec 09, 2018 ]
Currently my unit does not use this feature however I have not looked into if the unit can be set up for this. There's an option to select the brightness of the screen but not an automatic adjustment. [ Joel  Dec 08, 2018 ]
I'll let you know when I finally get it. It was delivered to my installation about two months ago, but I have yet to receive it. [ Adam  Dec 08, 2018 ]
My music come on in about 5 sec. when you you go the NAV jest wait . [ Jay  Jan 01, 2019 ]
Yes, just press the SRC/NAV button once and your music will play. [ D Allen  Nov 26, 2018 ]
Yes - you can play music from any source while the GPS NAV is running. The NAV screen will remain "up front" and visible, and the NAV instructions will interrupt the music, and return back to music after the instruction has been given. One drawback is that you cannot switch the view between the NAV and the music source. [ Bruce  Nov 26, 2018 ]
Yes it is. It is a little funny to figure out, but while on the Nav screen, push the nav/src button and wait. It goes through each input option until you get to the one you want, but there isn't any indication on the screen. [ Eric  Nov 24, 2018 ]
Yes you can. The music plays while the NAV is active on the display. [ RICHARD  Nov 24, 2018 ]
    No. [ Donald  Nov 23, 2018 ]
Yes, Setup your NAV destination first then push the push the SRL / button above the volume knob and you should have both on at same time. [ Neal  Nov 22, 2018 ]
Yes. While in the navigation option, just press the SRC/Nav button once. The radio should come back on in about three seconds. [ Chris  Nov 22, 2018 ]
Yes. Push and hold the nav button above the volume knob. You will be able to select what music you want to listen to. Push and hold the nav button again and you will be back at the nav screen. [ Matthew  Nov 22, 2018 ]
My Jensen will not play music when in navigation Which I am not liking this at all. I will return this ang go else where if I can't get a radio that will play [ Kevin  Nov 22, 2018 ]
    Yes it is. [ Kenneth  Nov 22, 2018 ]
I have the same question....hope the answer is yes. [ Jon  Nov 22, 2018 ]
Yes, when the nav screen is up just tap the nav button (don't hold down) and you will go thru to the next audio program, while leaving the nav screen on [ Dennis  Nov 22, 2018 ]
Yes you can. You push the source button and it toggles through the different inputs and allows you to select a station or song from your iPhone, and then reverts back to the nav screen. [ Curtis  Nov 22, 2018 ]
I have a 2003 GMC envoy and used the parts that Crutchfield sent and with there info and it all works good [ Jay  Jan 01, 2019 ]
I'm sorry, I do not know. I have a 2014 Ford f150 and they do not work. However, I installed the unit myself, so I'm sure I didn't do it correctly. Sorry I could not help you. [ CHRIS  Nov 05, 2018 ]
I believe like all aftermarket units, you will need to buy the steering wheel control adapter [ Michael  Nov 03, 2018 ]
Unfortunately the research we have on the 2017 Ram 1500 indicates "when you replace the factory radio, you'll lose your factory satellite radio capability." You can still add SiriusXM to any aftermarket head unit that's "SiriusXM ready" via the SXV300v1 SiriusXM tuner (sold separately): For more details or to discuss further, please contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat.
