Just got my Kenwood speakers today and it's 27 degrees outside but I couldn't wait to install these. After seeing my factory speakers, I can see why they sounded so bad.. no foam left on them at all. These Kenwood blew me away when I put them in. It took about 30 minutes total for both front doors and even with crappy factory rear column speakers.. it sounds awesome! Can't wait to rock out on the way to work in the morning! I'll definitely be getting the rear column Kenwood speakers to match on my 2000 Sierra. Loved the packaging and can't thank Crutchfield enough for all the help! Buying all my car audio from them!
Pros: Easy peasy to install and sound great
Cons: Nothing with the speakers, just found out some problems putting door panels back on

Just installed a pair of these Kenwoods to replace two blown-out factory speakers in my 2003 Subaru wagon (rear doors.) They sound *much* better than the speakers I took out, but then again those were non-functional. ; -) These have very clear midrange - good for vocals - BUT I really wish the bass end was better on these. It's a little lightweight. Suggestion: go find the "compare speakers" feature here on the Crutchfield site, which is a phenomenal feature.
Pros: Affordable, clean midrange.
Cons: Lacking at bit in the bass end

3 stars for the product and 5 for Crutchfield, if you have a VW...
Crutchfield customer from Arlington, MA on 10/3/2019
2001 Volkswagen Cabrio
I have a VW Cabrio (Mk 3.5), same speakers as Vw Golfs from Mk3 etc. In this review, I have to give Crutchfield a 5 ***** and the speakers a 2 or maybe a 3 ***. They are a good price, and they sound fine (highs are good, sound is realistically played. However, they're not quite as good as the stock VW speakers. This was fine for me because I blew out the speakers over time and needed nice sound back. It would be great if Crutchfield had a little indicator for "exceeds OEM sound". These don't, but they're fine. I give Crutchfield 5 ***** because they knew this would fit with a free adapter kit they sent and with the appropriate free VW to standard plug connectors they also sent. FYI, if you are fitting these into a Cabrio, you can make 'em fit even without the adapter kit. It's just a bit fiddly Also, when I went to put the OEM covers back on (no black plastic covers for me) they didn't quite fit. Take pliers and gently flatten the edges on these and then they fit fine!
Pros: inexpensive, nice sound
Cons: not quite OEM sound

Crutchfield customer from Indianapolis, IN on 9/30/2019

I bought these speakers to get a better sound out of my factory radio, CD, and cassette players. Apparently, my factory equipment does not provide enough power to drive these speakers; the sound is not much better unless I crank up the volume very high. Even then the quality of sound is poor. I wished the sales agents would have warn me this would happen.
Pros: Probably good speakers.
Cons: Was not expecting and upset with sound results.

2003 Honda Element
Installed these on a 2003 Honda Element in the front doors. I was concerned because Crutchfield said I would have to cut the door panels and drill new mount holes - which makes these NOT a replacement speaker, but rather a speaker that kinda fits the hole. Turns out I did NOT have to trim the door panel and there was plenty of surface area to drill new mount holes into the door panel. Not ideal, but my only other option was to order factory speakers. In any case Cruthfield service was amazing as usual, the supplied connector adapters worked perfect and the speakers sound really nice. Installation on my car was 10 minutes per side and I used all supplied parts - no need to purchase anything else.

Great mids and highs tight bass but weak.
JARED from Dracut, MA on 8/18/2019
2019 Honda Civic
The price is great, highs and mids sounds are crisp and clear, they also get great power from 180 watt factory head unit on the 2017 Honda Civic ex. The bad is factory speakers had so much more bass much louder but not tight, these speakers have tight bass but weak if almost non existent. If you run a aftermarket sub to these it will be a perfect match and sound will be full because of the great mids and highs. That's what I did love them now.
Pros: Great price, great mids and highs, tight bass.
Cons: bass is tight but weak, my factory speakers had much more bass, definitely benifit from a sub to balance these out.

Not bad, not great. You get what you pay for. They are better than the OEM speakers I took out, but otherwise they are a little lacking, especially based on their specs. They are lacking in the low/bass end of the range. They are pretty good for mid-range and highs. I got two pairs, one for the the front and one for the back. I installed the back ones, but I will be returning the set I got for the front and looking for something better.
Pros: Price, name-brand perceived quality, good mid range and highs
Cons: Poor bass

Speakers installed on a 6th generation S550 Mustang
Crutchfield customer from San Juan, PR on 7/31/2019
2015 Ford Mustang
This is an average speaker. It is good for the price, but not a good all-around speaker. Quality is way above of the price, I have seen speakers more expensive with horrible cheap materials. This is not the case. They are easily moved by factory system and they will sound loud. So what's the catch? Even though they claim a remarkable wide frequency response they don't really deliver al the low end, at least not as expected. I don't want to give the wrong impression these speakers will provide decent sound on a very short budget. But if you are obsessive with the sound of your system you will probably want to look elsewhere.
Pros: They are loud, they work fine on the factory amp, they are a steal for the price and are built on good and resistant materials.
Cons: Don't recommend to have these feed by aftermarket amp, factory system take them to the limit. They don't really respond to the claim frequency band.

I ordered these to replace my stock speakers in my 2012 Hyundai accent, VERY EASY INSTALL, love how the brackets and wiring came free and even with my stock radio, (which is underpowered for these speakers) still sounds amazing and you cant beat the price for clean sound and smooth bass. Thanks crutchfield!
Pros: Easy install, clean sound, amazing price for the quality.
Cons: You have to drill new holes to install them but that's not even a problem.

2003 GMC Envoy
These, for the price, are great sounding speakers that provide plenty of sound. In my car the front two speakers act only as subwoofers and while the bass is nothing like what it would be with a subwoofer it definitely shakes the seat and will be perfectly fine for someone not wanting to spend a ton of money. With the harness and mounts that come with the speakers specific to your car it is a super simple process and is literally plug and play. You will not be disappointed.

Safe replacement with very little bass
JR from Arlington, TX on 7/27/2019
2017 Mazda 3
Handles high frequencies every well. Handles mid range OK, too. Little to no low end. I have them matched with a Kenwood amp providing more than enough power to show these speakers off. They're just anemic. If you're looking for an affordable OEM replacement that will clear up your sound, these are ideal. BTW, Crutchfield has already sent a replacement set that should get closer to the sound I'm looking for.
Pros: Price Mid and high sound quality Decent sensitivity Low power requirements Crutchfield's service

2015 Nissan Versa S
Installed in a 2015 Nissan Versa S (base model with horrible factory radio and speakers). These were a great improvement over the factory speakers, the stock speakers had no volume no matter how much I turned it up. These are way louder than I would ever need them to be. After running these with the factory head unit for a while I put in an aftermarket radio and these things completely exceeded my expectations for the price. Using the head units high pass crossover and eq these sound very good, and any rattle I got with the factory head unit is now gone. Just don't expect these things to have a lot of bass, which is not a problem in my case since I have amplified subwoofers. Installation was easy, wiring adapters and mounting ring fit perfectly. I currently see no need in upgrading these speakers as long as they continue to work.
Pros: High sensitivity Easy to install
Cons: Not a lot of bass Won't see real potential without high pass filter and eq tuning

Joesph from Michigan on 7/9/2019
1989 Ford Mustang
Put them in the door of my '89 Mustang. They... suck. If you try to have literally any bass, they distort and sound blown. I don't mean window rattling, I mean just enough for it to sound "full". I see I'm not the only one with these issues, either. Dad and I have had good luck with Kenwood in the past (Indeed, the rear speakers are also Kenwood, and while not perfect, are much better than these) so I'm highly disappointed in these. No amount of fiddling with the EQ helped. Actually, I'd say the stock speakers from 1989 sounded better with the new head unit than these did. At least from my memory of the 20 minutes I drove it with them. I'll definitely be replacing them shortly.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Can't handle any bass

The speakers are awesome. With some fabrication and use of the old speakers the installation was not too bad. The new rings that were sent, we could not make them work at all. So we improvised and removed the old cone. We set the speakers on them aligned them straight and drilled new holes. Secured with screws and installed with ease. Overall the aforementioned was not the speakers fault nor does it change how the speakers work. They are a good speaker and I highly recommended them to anyone.

Good replacement speakers for 2002 Toyota Sequoia
Scott from Columbia, SC on 5/15/2019
2002 Toyota Sequoia
I purchased these speakers for a 2002 Toyota Sequoia SR5 to replace the original front door speakers that were cracking. First, speaker quality: very good for the money, relatively inexpensive so I didn't expect great sound, but they are fine & much better than what I've been listening to for the last few years. Good choice for an older, second car. Next, installation: relatively easy. What I love about Crutchfield is they included a wiring harness that works with my vehicle, so wiring is a snap, no splicing necessary, they emailed (without me asking) detailed instructions on how to remove the door panel (easy) and install the speakers, and included a mounting bracket, which you must have. I found many opinions on-line about what bracket works and for my basic factory installed stereo, the Crutchfield bracket worked fine. I saw on YouTube someone made his own bracket--not necessary for the basic SR5 setup, but may need a different one for the JBL system. Since there was no foam gasket, I added strips of double-sided tape between the speaker and bracket, and between the bracket and the car door to minimize vibration noise. So, for less than fifty bucks and about an hour of my time, it's as good as new. And since Crutchfield includes the wiring harness and bracket, cheaper than Amazon.
Pros: Good sound quality & value for the money. Excellent installation instructions from Crutchfield. Free mounting bracket and wiring harness makes installation easy. Arrived earlier than expected, within a few days or ordering. Easy do-it-yourself job with basic tools, takes about an hour.
Cons: No foam gaskets included (good idea to minimize vibration). After market bracket may not fit 100% perfectly, but works with a little manipulation--no modification to the bracket necessary.

At this price point, I didn't have super high expectations but needed replacements for my kaput factory speakers. Installation was a breeze and I am very impressed with their performance. As far as I'm concerned, they can't be beat. If you're looking for concert hall sound you should spend a lot more but for my purposes, I'm totally pleased!

A good basic speaker. Replaced the non-operational speakers in my daughter's trailblazer. The vehicle specific instructions and the Crutchfield supplied connectors (free) made the installation a breeze. I could find them cheaper elsewhere but the free instructions and wiring made this the best choice. Very Happy!

Added depth to the stock 4 runner sound
Crutchfield customer from Hendersonville, TN on 5/5/2019
2016 Toyota 4Runner
These are a simple replacement for the stock 6.5" speakers. Much larger magnet I bet these will hit hard with a little more power. Currently using the stock radio until I can swing a new one.
Pros: Easy install with the wiring harness adapter that Crutchfield included. Pretty simple if you can pull off the swap without pulling the door lock
Cons: Had to pinch the connectors a little to get them to snap fully down into place. You know you don't want a loose connection.

Tremenda compra en estas bocinas. Se escuchan muy bien con el radio de fábrica en un Kia Soul 2012 modelo base. El agudo es bueno, también el medio y el bajo es bueno pero no sorprendente. Es una bocina que trabaja mejor en plantas con un corte de frecuencia de 80hz. Y subwoofer adicional. Se instaló además en un Mirage 2014 con muy buenos resultados. Recomendable.
Pros: Estética Sonido

Crutchfield customer from Covington, LA on 4/24/2019
Upgraded to these from factory, it took some finagling to get them mounted in the front doors of my 2004 chevy 2500hd but once i figured out what size hole i had to drill for the driver door, the passenger side was a breeze. The rear was not as complicated as the front, holes did not line up but i made it work. I should have just used some self tapping screws, but i didn't have any handy. Sound is great and what an improvement from factory speakers that where wore out.
Pros: Sound quality
Cons: Mounting to front doors took some drilling and time to make them fit. Speakers should come with self tapping screws for chevy front doors.

An excellent budget speaker for my daughter's old Honda civic. Nice highs and a rounded mid range. My crutchfield advisor steered me towards these, and I'm glad she did. Sounds great for the price. I recommend.
Pros: Good sound; , nice mid range, and full range.
Cons: If you're looking for deep rap bass that annoys me at the stop light, you won't be happy with these- though I will if I'm along side.

Great speakers for the price, better than the factory ones that came with my 2006 Civic. The mount that crutchfield sent with them in order to fit my car were a bit off because of the holes did not line up. But the speakers themselves are great.
Pros: Crisp sound, loud
Cons: Crutchfield adapter for my car did not fit perfectly with these speakers

Nice basic speaker.
Pros:
Cons: Instructions seem incomplete. I was required to put new holes in for mounting these speakers yet the area behind where that was necessary seemed like something really solid. I ended up using really short screws into just the plastic. Hopefully they will hold.

Good enough for the price. I was hoping for a little better bass response judging by the sensitivity and range specs. Still a lot better than the stock rear door speakers though.
Pros: Inexpensive, free adapter plates and plug and play wiring.
Cons: Mounting directions are backwards. you have to mount the adapter plates to the door first, then the speakers to the plate.

Stereo with harness + rear speaker installation
Crutchfield customer from Haines City, FL on 3/27/2019
My sales representative was really nice and answered all my questions, even questions about other vehicle components and how to's. Ordering from Crutchfield was so easy, and the equipment I received was exactly what i ordered. Installation with the rear speakers were a breeze, however the type of vehicle [1999 VW Beetle] I have made it such a headache... but the wiring snapped right in and the speakers bolted right on. I just have to finish the head unit wiring, but everything I received as far as the wiring harness for the deck, all I have to do is match the colors [just need a day off to do it]. You always have help and you can't go wrong with Crutchfield... they do all the hard work so we can do it ourselves and save big dollars. I'm definitely ordering more gear for my other vehicles...!!!
Pros: Pay for the extras, like the wiring harnesses, wiring kits, ect..., and the simplicity is even more amazing.
Cons: Nothing to complain about, except just need the time to finish the installation.

Need to fill in the lows for sure . These Kenwood 2way speakers were very easy to install in my little Lexus I purchased a set for the front doors and the passenger doors.
Pros: Price was great install was quick and easy
Cons: No bass all mid range and highs
