Love the stereo, not as user friendly as I would like, but I am an older guy.would be a 5 star radio if I were a bit more tech savvy. I replaced factory stereo which was receiving radio stations weak. It now sounds great with this stereo and BT is super feature.

Got rid of the stock radio in my 2007 Subaru Impreza. I wish I had done this a long time ago. I love the ability to make hands free calls and listen to the music on my Android phone. And believe it or not, I installed it myself. I'm a 56 year old female. The only part I didn't do was disconnect the battery under the hood. Hubby did that but I did all the rest. I watched a YouTube video and the guy did it in about 15 minutes so I figured what the heck, I'll give it a try. I wasn't hard at all. I'm glad I had Crutchfield do the wiring harness for me because that made it so much easier, just plug and play. My only complaint is the volume knob doesn't stick out very far so it's hard to get ahold of.

Pros: Hands free calling, music from my Android, charges my Android

Cons: Volume button depth is short

I was looking to upgrade my stock stereo with a receiver that had a lot of extra features that wasn't going to break the bank and this was it. I can see now why this unit is a top seller. If you are an iPhone user than I would recommend taking advantage of the Siri eyes free feature on this unit.

Large display for easy reading. Perfect fit with Crutchfield installation kit. I had to file the truck bezel a little for fit. Crutchfield installation kit came with wiring harness adapters for power and speakers. Made installing a breeze because I was able to do all wiring on the work bench. Easy to program and with the new Kicker 6.5" door speakers purchased from Crutchfield it sounds amazing. Looking forward to playing old CD's.

Pros: Easy installation with just a little modifications to the existing bezel. Easy to read screen. Sounds amazing.

    Cons: Should have upgraded earlier.

Great sounding stereo at a reasonable price. This is a major upgrade over my 2000 GMC Yukon factory stereo. It makes the stock speaker sound EXCELLENT. Also, it was very simple to install. I highly recommend using Crutchfield's technicians to prewire your interface. Takes about 45 minutes off the project on your end and unless you like crimping wire, makes it a lot more fun.

Pros: Sounds great Intuitive operation Looks great

Works great. Love it for playing XM with amp plug in receiver. I am thrilled with this radio. Easy to install. A little hard to get set up the first time. Had to call Crutchfield tech services for help. They send me the factory manual and that helped.

Pros: Does what I need. Flexible enough to use Bluetooth for Pandora, and other stations. Good sound. Better than factory radio.

Cons: Set up instructions were weak.

Excellent sound and features for 89 bucks, will be even more impressive after factory speaker upgrade.

Pros: Purchasing from Crutchfield is always a Pro regardless of the product but would never consider a vehicle sound system purchase from anyone else. Have been a customer since the 70s and never disappointed.

Cons: If memory serves, laying on the floor board under the dash seemed easier at age 22 than 62 but still just as much fun.

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

This is great little unit, put it in a 2007 Honda Accord I just purchased and didn't want something that would break the bank and the factory radio just quit in this car which I found is an issue with these cars from the manufacturer. This unit was easy to put in and I only busted one knuckle, it took about 1 and 1/2 hours and that was only because I had to take the factory unit out a second time to get a little more play in the antennae wire to get everything to fit in the hole nice and straight. Then I turned it on and this unit blew me away the minute I got sound out of it, it was good right out of the box even with just the factory Pioneer speakers and I hadn't even adjusted the controls on it which I intend to do tomorrow. Crutchfield was easy to deal with and the shipping was super fast and the product was packaged well. Real happy with the ways things went all the way around.

Pros: Easy install, fit was perfect, great sound

Cons: Can't really think of anything

Perfect install. Replaced an 8ish year old excelon head unit, bluetooth quit working and usb only charged. So glad I got the wiring harnesses because the cables are the same but of course the head end unit has a different plug so if your unsure, get the installation kit! Especially since mine came free...Overall perfectly satisfied and can't wait to upgrade the rest of the system eventually as time wears the subs/speakers down and Crutchfield will be there for me then I'm sure! Thanks guys.

Pros: Easy fit as described by Crutchfield

Cons: Has different plug so needs rewire to upgrade older head end units of same brand.

Versatile stereo with lots of features. It even has front panel plug ins for usb and aux input, although the Bluetooth feature can do most anything you could want. Exceptional value for the money, we enjoy it so much that we plan on getting another one to update our other car. Great product, easy installation with the Crutchfield kit. Found a good place to mount the microphone for phone function too, see photos.

Pros: Easy and professional original equipment look using the Scosche GM 1482 dash kit to mount the unit where the tape deck and equalizer used to live. Easy hookup using the Metra 70-1858 wiring harness. Metra 88-00-3301 dash pocket/cubby box fits where the original radio head used to be, and provides a convenient place for your phone to live when driving.

Cons: Well, you do need to splice the Kenwood radio harness to the GM wiring harness adaptor, but it is all color coded and pretty straightforward.

This was a great buy. Had an old Sony in dash receiver with BT and it bit the dust. Replaced it with this model and has everything I need for the truck. Works great. Setup and controls are easy to navigate.

I used this to upgrade my factory radio. Wow, what a difference. Luckily I had a good set of speakers already and this made all the differece. The microphone works great so far for the BlueTooth. Hands free calling is great. Also, the tech support was a real help. Two quick calls got me through some minor install questions. Great setup overall.

I am a BIG fan of this radio head unit! I got it to replace an older aftermarket unit in my 2005 Subaru Legacy, and this one works exceptionally well! I really like the audio controls via Bluetooth with my iPhone's Music and Spotify apps. Honestly, the way the buttons feel when they're clicked is satisfying, so that's a plus. Overall, it is a great radio unit, and for the price I believe it is definitely worth it, especially if you are replacing a factory radio in your vehicle. Thank you!

Pros: Bluetooth audio control, good button feel, detailed equalizer customization, display is one color so it's not distracting

Cons: Only one color for the display and button accents so it's not super customizable, but really there are no cons from me!

Quick and easy ordering process. Fast and timely delivery. Product arrived before the initial estimate was even written down. Great service all around once again thanks to the folks at Crutchfield's locations abroad.

Pros: Great product. Functions all work properly and efficiently. Feels like good quality materials that will prolong the longevity of this unit. Price is right. It's actually rather inexpensive to put a single din head unit in almost anything which is really wonderful for me in this scenario because of budget and whatnot yet still have the confidence that it will not let you down because it's a made by a reputable company that uses the same design year after year but with updated software each year

Cons: The entire look of this style head unit is just outdated. Maybe an entirely new platform needs to be created. Update single din radios into the latest 21st century available technology. I'm imagining a single din full touch screen for the entire faceplate. The sleekness that you find on say a full touch screen double din w/out any buttons. Or just a very select few mechanical buttons. In my opinion, less buttons that there are on the dash the cleaner and sleeker and more natural/OEM it appears

I am in love with my new stereo! You folks really made it very easy to do the complete hook up. The pre-made pigtail from the stereo to my wiring harness was a god-send and it almost fell together. All I had to do was connect it and make a plug in for the ground. I am glad I spent the 25 bucks for the tail. I got the stereo unit in and next will work on the new speakers you folks sold me. It sounds great now I can only Imagine what it will be when I have the Pioneer speakers in there. Once again Thank You for your guidance I am grateful for everything!!

Really enjoying the great sound produced by this unit. Made my CDs sound better than ever. For an economical unit under $100, it is loaded with sound features. I would have liked the manual to define the features better, as well as state some specs on the unit, but all in all, very pleased. Free wiring harnessess and screws were a big plus with the wiring & mounting installation!

Alan from Medina, OH on 2/2/2019

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I purchased it because the factory CD player failed. Crutchfield was great, but I realized pretty quickly that I should have bought a Double-DIN unit for the larger buttons and larger display. The factory unit that died had bigger buttons and knobs with good tactile feel, and was simple and straightforward to use. This one is not as friendly to use without looking over at it first, which takes some attention away from the road. Sound quality is good, and is noticeably better than the stock radio - even with the factory unamplified speakers. The song and artist are displayed for most FM radio stations. I tried using the USB port for music; and while playback was fine, the navigation and display of songs is clumsy and not intuitive. You have to use the small radio presets buttons to move through the folders and it's just awkward. It's also nearly impossible to navigate the folders with only one display line. Pretty disappointing, because even in our Kia, USB music is effortless. That aside, it does have some really cool menu features buried in there. A few of my favorites: 1. Display dimmer can be set to come on and off with the clock - for example, I set it to dim between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM, so the lighting is not so harsh when it's dark outside. 2. The 13 band EQ is nice, and I will take full advantage when I upgrade the speakers in the future. 3. Settings for Car/SUV/Minivan, 2nd/3rd row rear speaker location, and exa

Pros: Nice menu features and easy initial setup Good sound Customizable 13 band EQ The blue LED lighting matches the exterior of the van USB and AUX ports It has a little door that covers the USB port when not in use Great price

Cons: Buttons for selecting favorite radio stations and navigating USB media are really tiny and not easily discernible while sitting in the driver seat. In my opinion, they should be 2-3 times larger than they are. Going from a factory radio to this one, that feels like a huge loss. I think if I had seen the unit in person, I would not have purchased it.

Excellent stereo. I put in my 1998 jeep Cherokee with an infinity system. The speakers came alive for the first time in a long time. The Infinity amp is working fine. One snag for any of you who are as dumb as I am, the din dash adapter as an up and a down position. I had it upside down for about thirty minutes. It would be helpful if the manufacturer would put a this side up or arrow sticker on the product to assist those as challenged as I am.

    Pros: Terrific Sound

Cons: The online manual needs some work to assist in set-up.

This is a nice radio, easy to install with the extra harness. Everything works as advertised. But I only give it 3 stars because I would not buy it again. I am spoiled by a more expensive Kenwood that I put in my other vehicle. The KDC-BT275U has tiny operating buttons. It is very difficult to read the button function identifier because of the tiny print. It is even a small challenge to change radio preset stations while driving. I also would like to be able to change the color of the display, but that capability is not available. The Bluetooth function for hands-free calling is very good so I am not returning the radio. Hopefully I will get better with the buttons as I gain experience.

Pros: Nice quality and easy to install

    Cons: Tiny buttons

This is the second one that I've installed in the kids cars. I'm pretty happy with the price point and the ease of install. Performance is well above average when not using a amp. I'd hate to see what would happen to the windows if it was an amplified system... It is a small pain that if you happen to push the volume knob, it takes to to an options menu. That control should have been moved to a secondary button.

Pros: Price point Great sound Easy install

    Cons: Slightly clumsy controls

This Stereo has so many features but is easy to use. The color is subtle and good for driving at night. Sound quality is good, I did not know how dated my OEM radio was sounding and the Stereo can be quite loud without loss of quality. Installation was smooth and quick with only one glitch (I didn't know my Jeep had a separate amp connection). Tech on the phone had it working in less than 2 minutes. I wish I had bought this without waiting for the OEM CD to die.

Pros: Great Stereo for a low price.

Cons: Switching modes is slow, separate buttons might be better.

Excellent sounding stereo. Replaced the factory stereo in my truck and this one is great. After tweaking the loudness and equalizers to my liking, I couldn't be happier. Set up with Bluetooth went very smoothly. I got the ReadyHarness service and would highly recommend that as well. Makes installation so much easier. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 was the buttons to change the radio stations are small and with winter coming up, that could be a problem in Missouri. I like the Bluetooth setup but the sound of music from my phone to the stereo isn't all that great. Radio, CD and Aux sounds amazing but Bluetooth.....not so much. It may be a setting I haven't found yet also (only had it a week). Overall I am very pleased with the stereo.

Pros: Sound, ease of install, ease of setup to your devices

Cons: Bluetooth radio not sounding great, small buttons,

I Love how this new stereo plays. It sounds much better than the stock stereo I replaced. The downside is all the buttons and indicators are hard to read and so many inputs and ways to navigate are difficult. Simpler and bigger display buttons would be helpful. It also would be nice to be able to Dim the main scroll panel to a dimmer sitting. The Dim setting is still very bright. Navigating should not be like a computer. It's only a radio / stereo after all.... not a computer. My son installed it for me in about 30 minutes. The pre- bundled connector kit was well worth the money spent.

Pros: Sounds much better than my stock stereo. I like being able to play CDs and my iPod through this system.

Cons: Controls hard to read and navigating the menu is complicated.

the radio fit in the truck & is now working. found it was hard the to get set up, things like balance side to side & front to back,HRz display, audio control, etc etc with a single function control knob. the manual that comes with the radio covers 8 different models, come to find out it's only a"Quick start guide" went on Kenwood site & down loaded a full install manual now its a total of 140 pages & still covers multi units.will have to cut & paste a manual for my radio ONLY, it will be much easier to under all the functions. called Crutchfield a few times & they DID help. after it was half way install found that it didn't have a headphone jack. I HAD asked the sales person when i was looking at diff models "OH YES" right under the USB PORT kind of hard to see but its there. come to find out that 's a input port only. so far i have Pandora & i phone down loaded & it easy to find & sounds great. they say i can down load a APP to make my I phone control the different function of the radio. like a remote (we deal with that later) all & all it looks & sounds great & the wife is happy. next project. Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth 3.0: The Kenwood KDC-BT275U is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (ver. 3.0) allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.6 (Hands Free Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.5 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Kenwood KDC-BT275U. Visit Kenwood's Support Site for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled phones.

SSP & USB Pairing: With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the Kenwood KDC-BT275U without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. You can even pair your Apple iPhone (iOS 5+) by simply connecting it to the Kenwood head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display.

    • Dual Phone Connection: Thanks to the Dual Phone Connection feature, two Bluetooth-enabled phones can remain connected to the Kenwood receiver. This means you can an answer an incoming call from either phone from the head unit. Also, both of your phone's contact lists are downloaded to the receiver. To make a call from one of the phones using the Kenwood receiver, you simply have to select Phone 1 or Phone 2 on the head unit's front-panel.
    • Music Mix: The new Music Mix feature allows five Bluetooth audio source devices to be connected to the Kenwood receiver at one time, so you can switch between Bluetooth playback sources a lot easier and quicker. While "BT Audio" source is selected on the head unit, you can simply press the music playback button on your connected Bluetooth source devices to switch between devices and begin music playback. However, you cannot stream audio from two different Bluetooth audio source devices at the same time or combine music libraries or playlists from two different connected devices.
Note: You can pair up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices to the Kenwood head unit. When an already paired Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units.

Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The controls of the KDC-BT275U can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers. During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

    • Answering a Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the head unit's front-panel controls, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call immediately or after 1-30 seconds. The KDC-BT275U also supports the Call Waiting function, so you can answer another incoming call while suspending the current call you are on. Your compatible cell-phone must also support this feature.
    • Dialing a Number: Using the KDC-BT275U, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
      • Enter Phone #: Allows you to directly dial a phone number up to 32 digits from the head unit's control knob or remote control.
      • Preset Dial: Allows you to register up to 6 phone numbers for quick dialing. The preset numbers can be accessed from the head unit's front-panel controls.
      • Phone Book: You can download phone book data from your mobile phone to the KDC-BT275U. You can then dial a contact within the phonebook from the head unit's front-panel controls. Contacts are categorized as Home, Office, Mobile, Other, or General.
      • Call History: The Call History is a list of calls that have originated from and were received by this unit that you can dial. You can select Outgoing, Incoming, or Missed calls.
      • Voice Dialing: If your mobile phone supports voice recognition, then you can dial out by voice command. Simply speak into the included microphone.
    • External Mic: The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level, noise cancellation, and echo cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Kenwood KDC-BT275U supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or audio player. You are able to stream your stored music library on your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, as well as music apps downloaded on your smartphone to the Kenwood KDC-BT275U for playback.

    • SBC + AAC Codecs: In addition to support for the standard SBC Bluetooth audio codec, the KDC-BT275U offers support of AAC.  By supporting AAC, the KDC-BT275U offers better audio performance of the music streamed from your Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad.
    • Advanced Music Browsing: In addition to basic playback functions (Play/Pause, FF/RW, Skip, Random/Repeat), the KDC-BT275U lets you browse your stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, etc. Advanced music browsing is supported by Android 4.0+ smartphones and Apple iPhones 5.0+ (specific advanced functions vary by phone).
    • Song/Artist Information: The head unit will also display your stored music and music app's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title (not compatible with all apps).
Note: When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Siri Eyes Free Control: When paired and connected to an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth, the Kenwood KDC-BT275U has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. Simply press-and-hold down on the head unit's Answer Button to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the KDC-BT275U and its microphone. You even can ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

Note: The head unit's display will only indicate hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the Kenwood KDC-BT275U; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).

    Android & iPhone Integration

Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0) Connectivity: The Kenwood KDC-BT275U's front-panel USB port lets you connect select Android OS 4.1-7.1.2 smartphones that support AOA 2.0 for music playback. Kenwood does not guarantee operation with all Android devices, regardless of operating system. There are two Android AOA 2.0 modes to choose from based on what content you want to listen to and how you want to control it.
    • Hand Mode: The Kenwood KDC-BT275U supports Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0), which lets you connect your Android (OS 4.1-7.1.2) smartphone to the KDC-BT275U's front-panel USB port and listen to stored music and music apps from your Android device through the Kenwood head unit. You'll be able to control basic playback functions such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track. Other advanced music navigation will still be done from your Android smartphone's touchscreen. In this mode, the head unit will not display song/artist information; only "Hand Mode" will show up on display. You'll continue to view song/artist information from the Android device's touchscreen. You'll also still be able to access other functions and applications from your Android smartphone's touchscreen, while listening to music through the head unit. If you make a call or answer a call from your smartphone while listening to music in this mode, the music will pause until you are finished with the call and then start back up again.
    • Browse Mode (via Kenwood Music Play App): Downloading the Kenwood Music Play app onto your Android OS 4.1-7.1.2 smartphone with AOA 2.0 support not only allows you to listen to stored music from your Android device through the Kenwood CD receiver connected via USB, but it also lets you browse your Android smartphone's music library from the head unit's front-panel controls. You can browse your store music library by Playlist, Artist, Song, Album, or Genre. The contents of a Playlist or Category can be searched alphabetically or numerically; you can even skip through the stored music files in specific increments (0.5/1/5/10%). You can also control Play/Pause and Previous/Next track from the head unit. In addition, the head unit will display song/artist information. You can exit the Kenwood Music Play app to access other functions and applications of your Android smartphone, while your stored music library is still playing through your head unit. If you make a call or answer a call from your smartphone while listening to music in this mode, the music will pause until you are finished with the call and then start back up again.
Note: Some Android devices may not support Android Open Accessory (AOA) 2.0. Kenwood does not guarantee operation with all Android devices.

iPhone Direct Connection: The Kenwood KDC-BT275U's front-panel USB port can be used to connect your Lightning Apple device or 30-pin iPhone 4S to the head unit. The USB connection allows for playback of stored music and music apps on your iPod or iPhone through Kenwood receiver. If you have a newer iPod/iPhone with the Lightning-connector, you can use Kenwood's Lightning connector-to-USB cable (113KCIP103 sold separately) or the Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect your iPod/iPhone to the KDC-BT275U. If you have an iPhone 4S with a 30-pin dock connector, you can use the dock connector-to-USB cable that comes with your Apple device or a 3rd party "Made for iPod/iPhone" certified dock-to-USB cable (sold separately) to connect your iPhone 4S to the KDC-BT275U.

    • Head Unit Control: From the head unit's front-panel controls you can search for stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Podcast, Genre, and Composer. The contents of a Playlist or Category can be searched alphabetically or numerically; you can even skip through the stored music files in specific increments (0.5/1/5/10%). The KDC-BT275U also supports Repeat (file/all) and Random (album/all) playback functions of stored music on your iPod/iPhone. In addition, you'll be able to control basic playback functions (such as Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track) from stored music and select music apps streamed to your iPhone. You can also choose to control your compatible Apple iPhone or touch from its own touchscreen, instead of the head unit.
    • Song/Artist Info Display: The KDC-BT275U will display your iPod/iPhone's music file information such as Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song title, and Album title.

Smartphone Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1.5A of current to power and charge your connected Apple iPod/iPhone or Android smartphone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it).

    • Stage EQ: Stage EQ virtually lifts the sound up to ear-level for better imaging inside your vehicle.

Audio Settings: The Kenwood KDC-BT275U offers a variety of audio settings to further enhance your music listening experience.

    • Sound Reconstruction: When MP3, WMA, AAC files encoded at a low bit rate (less than 96 kbps, 44.1k, 48kHz) are played, the Sound Reconstruction function restores their high frequencies so the sound quality is closer to files encoded at a high bit rate. The processing is optimized for the compression format and the bit rate used. When Sound Reconstruction is Off, the unit plays the original sound stored in the audio file.
    • Space Enhancer & Sound Realizer: The Spacer Enhancer widens the soundstage inside your vehicle, while the Sound Realizer makes your music sound more realistic.
    • Loudness, Bass Boost & Bass Extension: The Loudness feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. The unit's Bass Boost enhances low bass frequencies at any volume level. There is also a Bass Extension feature which further enhances the unit's bass output at extremely low frequencies.
    • Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -15 to +6.

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

    Remote Control

Remote App (for Apple iOS): The Kenwood Remote App (for Apple iOS 8.0+) operates the Kenwood receiver like a wireless remote control from your USB or Bluetooth connected Apple iOS device. The Kenwood Remote App provides traditional touchscreen control, as well as directional and freeform gesture control from your compatible mobile device.

    • Source Selection: The Kenwood Remote App provides list of the receiver's built-in sources and connected sources (CD, Aux, AM/FM, USB, Bluetooth); so you can select which source you want to listen to from the app on your mobile device.
    • Playback Control: The application lets you control CD, USB, and Bluetooth audio playback. You have control of Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, and Repeat/Random. From the app you can also select AM/FM bands, select preset stations, and seek AM/FM stations.
    • Display Information: The app also displays source information such as station number, track number & playback time, as well as song/artist/album information (when applicable)
    • Audio Settings: From the application on your mobile device, you can adjust the receiver's volume up or down. In addition, audio settings such as EQ, Crossover, DTA, and other audio adjustments can be easily set using the Kenwood Remote application.
    Notes:
    • When using the Kenwood Remote App with your compatible Apple iOS device, the application and device must be connected to the receiver via Bluetooth (not USB) for playback of Bluetooth audio. For playback of a USB-direct connection from an Apple iOS device, the device and application must be connected to the head unit via USB (not Bluetooth).
    • The Remote App is no longer compatible with any model Android OS device (as of 1/1/2019).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately).

Optional IR Remote: The KDC-BT275U is compatible with Kenwood's IR remote control (RC-406, sold separately) for wireless operation of the receiver.

    Display Features

Detachable Face: The Kenwood KDC-BT275U features a single front loading CD face that detaches from the chassis to deter theft. There is no protective face case included. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Single-Line Display: The KDC-BT275U is equipped with a single-line display with white text and a black background. The button illumination is blue You cannot adjust the color of the display or button illumination. You can select between English or Spanish text.

Text Scroll: The KDC-BT275U will display song/artist information text from CD, USB, Bluetooth, iPod, and Android. You can set the text scrolling feature to three different modes (Auto, Once, or Off) to scroll longer titles across the screen.

Brightness & Dimmer: You can adjust the brightness of the LCD and button illumination independently or together (from 0-31). You can also dim (on or off) the display and button illumination. You can even set a specific time for the "Off" and "On" dimmer setting to be activated.

12Hr/24Hr Clock: The head unit can be set to display a 12hr or 24hr clock. The unit also displays the day (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, or Sat). The clock is only displayed when selected and does not display simultaneously with song/artist or station information. The day & time can be selected to remain on, even if the head unit is switched off (as long as the vehicle's key is in the "accessory" or "on" position).

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On or Off within the menu.

    Q
Will this work with the steering wheel audio controls in a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
    [ Brendan  Jan 22, 2019 ]
    1 answer
    A
I believe so but I had a professional install the radio as it wasn't as straight forward as I hoped and he mentioned it would be an additional $100 to wire the steering wheel controls in my daughter's 2006 Mini. We opted not to but as I stated it would have been possible

Do not know. Didn't notice that the face would come off. Nothing I saw in instruction about it. There is a plastic ring around the front edge that comes off for installation. Then you put it back on last.
