Get the most out of your music

I knew that Kenwood's KDC-BT772HD CD receiver would be a winner when I saw its long list of features, including deep smartphone integration and high-res music playback. You can stream music from multiple Internet radio stations or tune in your local HD Radio™ stations. Kenwood rounds out this sleek receiver with some serious sound-shaping controls, including a 13-band equalizer. And Kenwood's Remote app gives you smartphone control over the receiver.

Enhanced wireless for two phones

In addition to hands-free calling with Bluetooth, you can pair your phone with this Kenwood for wireless audio streaming. If your Android™ is Bluetooth aptX-compatible or your iPhone® includes AAC files, you'll enjoy clear, almost CD-quality music streaming. To get Bluetooth running quickly, simply plug your Android or iPhone into the USB port and the receiver will pair automatically. This Kenwood lets you can quickly switch between two paired phones — handy for vehicles with more than one driver.

HD radio and more

HD Radio

The KDC-BT772HD lets you enjoy HD Radio from participating stations, so you'll hear FM that's close to CD quality or AM that comes in clear and static-free. And most participating stations send out secondary programming, giving you more choices when you're in the mood for radio. And if you're not in an area with HD Radio stations, don't worry — this Kenwood's sensitive radio tuner will pick up local analog stations, too. Using the controls on the receiver, you can access your favorite Pandora®, Spotify®, and iHeartRadio® Internet Radio stations from your iPhone or Android.

Satellite radio too

You can also check out the incredibly deep programming offered by satellite radio by adding a SiriusXM tuner. Nothing makes a trip go faster than finding a great SiriusXM station and letting it play hour after hour.

Other music options

You can also satisfy your music fix by playing CDs or connecting a portable music player to the rear-panel aux input. You can play, control, and charge select Android phones, an iPod®, or an iPhone that's plugged into the one of two rear-panel USB ports. And the USB ports can also handle a thumb drive loaded with music, including high-res FLAC files.

More cool features

You can use this Kenwood's dynamic 13-band graphic equalizer and digital time alignment to make sure it always feels like the band's right in front of you. The KDC-BT772HD also provides three pairs of hot RCA preamp outputs, enabling you to get a super-clean signal to additional amps in your system. With its variable color adjustment, you get to pick the color for the receiver's high contrast display for just the right look in your dash.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

I am satisfied with everything about this stereo except for the remote apps don't seem to work right but everything else works great and has great sound I know a lot of people in their reviews were saying it was hard to see in the daytime bright light I found that green number one works good for just about any kind of lighting so I have not had any issues with that. sounds good everything is pretty easy to use if you understand the settings all in all I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase crutchfield was great I got my purchases pretty quick everything was in order just the way it should have been

Not great in comparision

I think the fault of my KDC-BT772HD is that it replaced my KDC-BT958HD. It was an improvement in some areas like audio adjustments and radio preset storage and selection but other things such as display and input selection went from good on the old unit to bad on this one. I guess I will have to give it some time to see if I can adjust.

Pros: preset save and select audio adjustments

Cons: display input select

I have had this installed for over 6 mo. now the sound quality is great, makes my MB quarts, focal, and JL's ROCK. however, you need the manual to make any adjustments, its too complicated, the clock read out is too small, now I'm starting to have problems, the clock changes time for some reason, back and forth to the correct time, also now when you turn the car on, I never know what the volume is, sometimes it's soft and builds up, other times It's just loud, I like loud music hence the bi-amp set up I have, my wifey does't Real disappointed in this kenwood

Pros: GREAT sound

Cons: Everything else

Great value

Excellent value. Great Quality. No issues yet to date. Feature rich: CD, HD radio, USB1, USB2, BT1, BT2, AUX-in. Sirius ready - not for me, but it may be your preference. Appreciate the in-depth User customization. I like being able custom set the display dimmer time parameters, speaker sizes, vehicle type, and so on. Quick, single button, access to AUDIO configurations. Handy since this unit has seven (7) separate audio sources available...and not all audio sources have precisely the same output. The only thing that I might consider a negative is the size of the buttons - I have large hands (i.e.: fat fingers). But this is a single DIN unit and there is only so much space available.

Pros: Feature RICH. Sound output extremely customizable to help suit your vehicle's acoustic characteristics. Multiple Audio Sources: Radio, CD, 2-USB, 2-BT, Aux in, Sirius ready. 13 Band Custom User EQ.

Installed this head in a 2001 F150 Super Crew cab...using the original speakers. The sound is beyond belief!! If I had know that a new head would make this much difference, I would have replaced it years ago. The Bluetooth features work great for calling. The noise reduction and mic volume increase produce call quality of my new Ford C-Max with Sync technology. The set-up of the unit is fairly straight forward and allows as much or as little customization as desired. Comes with two USB ports (rear) and one aux (rear) which work great. For the price point, I highly recommend this unit to anyone wanting to replace an older factory unit. You will be amazed!!!

Pros: Easy installation using the Chesterfield pre-assembled cables Beyond belief sound quality Extensive customization options

Cons: None!

The unit works great in my 2001 Blazer. The display being hard to read in bright sunlight is why it didn't get 5 stars. The unit recognized my iPad without me having to fool with it was a plus. The installation gear made this a straight forward install that looks good.

I was very impressed with the sound quality on this unit. I read many reviews with complaints on no short cuts to the source you want to listen to but unless you can't make up your mind on what you want to listen to it's really no big deal. I'd recommend this unit to anyone looking for good sound quality. I did buy the remote control because I need readers to see anything in small print. Good purchase for me. I went with the ready wire harness Crutchfield offers and so glad I did. They did a nice clean job and saved me time during install. I recommend this service also.

Pros: Great sound!

Great Unit for the Price

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Bought this to replace stock unit in 2004 Ford F-150, mainly for the Bluetooth capability. Easy installation, didn't take more than an hour with the FREE installation gear (wire harness and DIN adapter) that came from Crutchfield. Better Sound, great bluetooth clarity, and multiple colors to match dash. Would have been 5 stars, but the buttons are small, and you have to cycle thru every Source Option to make your selection. Otherwise, very good bang for the buck.

Pros: Nice upgrade from stock unit Great Bluetooth Good power for a head-unit-only system

Cons: Small buttons Both USB's on the back Must cycle through Source options - no independent buttons.

Kenwood never disappoints. Bought this for my sons pickup and he has not even begun to explore all of the features. This radio is a piece of junk. Appearance wise it looks like it belongs on display at one of those big discount retail stores. The buttons are all very small and feel flimsy, it feels like it's going to break everytime I touch it. To get it to do anything I want is a project every time. I guess I got what I paid for. A waste of money. Oh well. I've been doing custom car stereo work since 1990 as a hobby so don't take my review lightly. The only reason someone would give this unit a good review is because they have never had a quality head unit to compare it to.

Pros: None

Cons: It's a piece of junk.

This is a great single DIN head unit. There are tons of features. I installed it on my 2017 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID plus an antenna adaptor & an Axxess ASWC-1 - Steering Wheel Control Adapter. Everything worked well including my stock iMID display and ALL the factory steering and head unit's functions. Now, the audio qaulity of my Accord is 100X better than the factory stereo. My only complain with this unit there is that there is no shortcut button for the source. You literally have to go through (cycle) all the sources, which is A LOT, just to get back to where you to listen like FM radio. I can also listen to Pandora (and control it) wirelessly, without connecting my phone to the USB cable and also use my steering control I replaced all my stock speakers with Kicker and added an 8inch low profile (hideaway) amplified subwoofer also made by kicker installed under the front passenger seat. I made a template and fabricated a face frame and installed the unit where the compartment was. I removed the compartment door trimmed it and attached the metal Kenwood case to it then installed the frame I made. the frame and the center console with vinyl. The microphone was installed under the unit Under the unit, you will see my Kicker's subwoofer gain control, Kenwood microphone and the Honda's stock 12V outlet.

Pros: Lots of features

Cons: No shortcut key button for CD or Radio.

I love this unit. It could do everything I ask for plus more. I was planning to use this radio as a stepping stone to a more expensive radio but it has everything I need such as bluetooth for the telephone and a usb port to install a stick with my music. It is definetly a keeper. Changing the color of the lcd screen is great as well.

Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth 3.0: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (ver. 3.0) allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

  • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.6 (Hands Free Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
  • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.5 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Kenwood KDC-BT772HD. Visit Kenwood's Support Site for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled phones.

SSP/USB/NFC Pairing: With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the Kenwood KDC-BT772HD without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. You can even pair your Apple iPhone (iOS 5+) or Android smartphone (running Kenwood Music Play App) by simply connecting it to the Kenwood head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display. Android (OS 4.0+) smartphones that have Near Field Communication (NFC) pair simply by touching the Android device's NFC tag to the NFC tag on the head unit's front-panel.

  • Dual Phone Connection: Thanks to the Dual Phone Connection feature, two Bluetooth-enabled phones can remain connected to the Kenwood receiver. This means you can an answer an incoming call from either phone from the head unit. Also, both of your phone's contact lists are downloaded to the receiver. To make a call from one of the phones using the Kenwood receiver, you simply have to select Phone 1 or Phone 2 on the head unit's front-panel.
  • Music Mix: The new Music Mix feature allows five Bluetooth audio source devices to be connected to the Kenwood receiver at one time, so you can switch between Bluetooth playback sources a lot easier and quicker. While "BT Audio" source is selected on the head unit, you can simply press the music playback button on your connected Bluetooth source devices to switch between devices and begin music playback. However, you cannot stream audio from two different Bluetooth audio source devices at the same time or combine music libraries or playlists from two different connected devices.
Note: You can pair up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices to the Kenwood head unit. When an already paired Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units.

Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The controls of the KDC-BT772HD can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers. During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

  • Answering a Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the head unit's front-panel controls, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call immediately or after 1-30 seconds. The KDC-BT772HD also supports the Call Waiting function, so you can answer another incoming call while suspending the current call you are on. Your compatible cell-phone must also support this feature.
  • Dialing a Number: Using the KDC-BT772HD, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
    • Enter Phone #: Allows you to directly dial a phone number up to 32 digits from the head unit's control knob or remote control.
    • Preset Dial: Allows you to register up to 6 phone numbers for quick dialing. The preset numbers can be accessed from the head unit's front-panel controls.
    • Phone Book: You can download phone book data from your mobile phone to the KDC-BT772HD. You can then dial a contact within the phonebook from the head unit's front-panel controls. Contacts are categorized as Home, Office, Mobile, Other, or General.
    • Call History: The Call History is a list of calls that have originated from and were received by this unit that you can dial. You can select Outgoing, Incoming, or Missed calls.
    • Voice Dialing: If your mobile phone supports voice recognition, then you can dial out by voice command. Simply speak into the included microphone.

External Mic: The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level, noise cancellation, and echo cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or audio player. You are able to stream your stored music library on your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, as well as music apps downloaded on your smartphone to the Kenwood KDC-BT772HD for playback.

  • AAC & aptX Codecs: In addition to support for the standard SBC Bluetooth audio codec, the KDC-BT772HD offers support for AAC and aptX codecs for higher quality audio streaming from select Apple & Android devices. By supporting AAC, the KDC-BT772HD offers better audio performance of the music streamed from your Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad. aptX audio coding technology provides even better sound quality with lossless, CD-quality streaming for compatible aptX-compatible smartphones, like many Android smartphones with OS 4.0+.
  • Advanced Music Browsing: In addition to basic playback functions (Play/Pause, FF/RW, Skip, Random/Repeat), the KDC-BT772HD lets you browse your stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, etc. (AVRCP 1.4 phones only; which includes Android 4.0+ and iPhone 5.0+).
  • Song/Artist Information: The head unit will also display your stored music and music app's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title (not compatible with all apps).
Note: When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Siri Eyes Free Control: When paired and connected to an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth, the Kenwood KDC-BT772HD has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. Simply press-and-hold down on the head unit's Answer Button to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the KDC-BT772HD and its microphone. You even can ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

Note: The head unit's display will only indicate hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the Kenwood KDC-BT772HD; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).

Android & iPhone Integration

Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0) Connectivity: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD's rear-panel USB ports let you connect select Android (OS 4.1-7.1.2) smartphones that support AOA 2.0 for music playback. Kenwood does not guarantee operation with all Android devices, regardless of operating system. There are two Android AOA 2.0 modes to choose from based on what content you want to listen to and how you want to control it.
  • Hand Mode: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD supports Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0), which lets  you connect your Android smartphone (OS 4.1-7.1.2) to the KDC-BT772HD's rear-panel USB ports and listen to stored music and music apps from your Android device through the Kenwood head unit. You'll be able to control basic playback functions such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track. Other advanced music navigation will still be done from your Android smartphone's touchscreen. In this mode, the head unit will not display song/artist information; only "Hand Mode" will show up on display. You'll continue to view song/artist information from the Android device's touchscreen. You'll also still be able to access other functions and applications from your Android smartphone's touchscreen, while listening to music through the head unit. If you make a call or answer a call from your smartphone while listening to music in this mode, the music will pause until you are finished with the call and then start back up again.
  • Browse Mode (via Kenwood Music Play App): Downloading the Kenwood Music Play app onto your Android (OS 4.1-7.1.2) smartphone with AOA 2.0 support not only allows you to listen to stored music from your Android device through the Kenwood CD receiver connected via USB, but it also lets you browse your Android smartphone's music library from the head unit's front-panel controls. You can browse your store music library by Playlist, Artist, Song, Album, or Genre. The contents of a Playlist or Category can be searched alphabetically or numerically; you can even skip through the stored music files in specific increments (0.5/1/5/10%). You can also control Play/Pause and Previous/Next track from the head unit. In addition, the head unit will display song/artist information. You can exit the Kenwood Music Play app to access other functions and applications of your Android smartphone, while your stored music library is still playing through your head unit. If you make a call or answer a call from your smartphone while listening to music in this mode, the music will pause until you are finished with the call and then start back up again.

iPhone Direct Connection: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD's rear-panel USB ports can be used to connect your Lightning Apple device or 30-pin iPhone 4S to the head unit. The USB connection allows for playback of stored music and music apps on your iPod or iPhone through Kenwood receiver. If you have a newer iPod/iPhone with the Lightning-connector, you can use Kenwood's Lightning connector-to-USB cable (113KCIP103 sold separately) or the Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect your iPod/iPhone to the KDC-BT772HD. If you have an iPhone 4S with a 30-pin dock connector, you can use the dock connector-to-USB cable that comes with your Apple device or a 3rd party "Made for iPod/iPhone" certified dock-to-USB cable (sold separately) to connect your iPhone 4S to the KDC-BT772HD.

  • Head Unit Control: From the head unit's front-panel controls you can search for stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Podcast, Genre, and Composer. The contents of a Playlist or Category can be searched alphabetically or numerically; you can even skip through the stored music files in specific increments (0.5/1/5/10%). The KDC-BT772HD also supports Repeat (file/all) and Random (album/all) playback functions of stored music on your iPod/iPhone. In addition, you'll be able to control basic playback functions (such as Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track) from stored music and select music apps streamed to your iPhone. You can also choose to control your Apple device from its own touchscreen, instead of the head unit.
  • Song/Artist Info Display: The KDC-BT772HD will display your iPod/iPhone's music file information such as Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song title, and Album title.

Smartphone Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1.5A of current to power and charge your connected Apple iPod/iPhone or Android smartphone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it).

You can also select to manually fine tune the sound stage, using Digital Time Alignment (DTA) by selecting the distance (0-20') for each individual speaker in the vehicle compared to your listening position.

High Pass & Low Pass Crossovers: You are able to select independent high pass crossovers for your tweeters, front speakers, and rear speakers; as well as a low pass crossover for the head unit's sub output.

  • Tweeter: Set high pass filter (HPF) for tweeters.
    • Frequency: 1kHz, 1.6kHz, 2.5kHz, 4kHz, 5kHz, 6.3kHz, 8kHz, 10kHz, 12.5kHz

Equalizer: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD offers 8 EQ Presets for easy adjustment, a 13-band EQ for customized tuning, a Drive EQ mode to overcome road noise, and a Stage EQ for better imaging. Separate EQ settings and EQ presets can be stored for each source or you can apply one EQ preset or curve to all sources.

  • Preset EQ: The integrated equalizer offers 8 preset sound modes (Rock, Pops, Easy, Top 40, Jazz, Natural, Drive EQ, or User) suitable for the music genre of your choice.
  • 13-Band EQ: The User mode allows you to manually adjust the head unit's 13-band EQ (62.5Hz, 100Hz, 160Hz, 250Hz, 400Hz, 630Hz, 1kHz, 1.6kHz, 2.5kHz, 4kHz, 6.3kHz, 10kHz, & 16kHz). Each frequency's gain level can be adjusted from -9dB to +9 dB, while the Q-factor can be adjusted to 1.35, 1.5, or 2.0
  • Drive EQ: The Drive EQ mode helps you hear your music over road noise. It boosts certain frequency ranges that become hard to hear due to road noise.
  • Stage EQ: Stage EQ virtually lifts the sound up to ear-level for better imaging inside your vehicle.

Audio Settings: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD offers a variety of audio settings to further enhance your music listening experience.

  • Sound Reconstruction: When MP3, WMA, AAC files encoded at a low bit rate (less than 96 kbps, 44.1k, 48kHz) are played, the Sound Reconstruction function restores their high frequencies so the sound quality is closer to files encoded at a high bit rate. The processing is optimized for the compression format and the bit rate used. When Sound Reconstruction is Off, the unit plays the original sound stored in the audio file.
  • Space Enhancer & Sound Realizer: The Spacer Enhancer widens the soundstage inside your vehicle, while the Sound Realizer makes your music sound more realistic.
  • Loudness, Bass Boost & Bass Extension: The Loudness feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. The unit's Bass Boost enhances low bass frequencies at any volume level. There is also a Bass Extension feature which further enhances the unit's bass output at extremely low frequencies.
  • Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -15 to +6.

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

Remote Control

Remote App (for Apple iOS): The Kenwood Remote App (for Apple iOS 8.0+) operates the Kenwood receiver like a wireless remote control from your USB or Bluetooth connected Apple iOS device. The Kenwood Remote App provides traditional touchscreen control, as well as directional and freeform gesture control from your compatible mobile device.

  • Source Selection: The Kenwood Remote App provides list of the receiver's built-in sources and connected sources (CD, Aux, AM/FM, USB, Bluetooth); so you can select which source you want to listen to from the app on your mobile device.
  • Playback Control: The application lets you control CD, USB, and Bluetooth audio playback. You have control of Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, and Repeat/Random. From the app you can also select AM/FM bands, select preset stations, and seek AM/FM stations.
  • Display Information: The app also displays source information such as station number, track number & playback time, as well as song/artist/album information (when applicable)
  • Audio Settings: From the application on your mobile device, you can adjust the receiver's volume up or down. In addition, audio settings such as EQ, Crossover, DTA, and other audio adjustments can be easily set using the Kenwood Remote application.
Notes:
  • When using the Kenwood Remote App with your compatible Apple iOS device, the application and device must be connected to the receiver via Bluetooth (not USB) for playback of Bluetooth audio. For playback of a USB-direct connection from an Apple iOS device, the device and application must be connected to the head unit via USB (not Bluetooth).
  • The Remote App is no longer compatible with any model Android OS device (as of 1/1/2019).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately).

Optional IR Remote: The KDC-BT772HD is compatible with Kenwood's IR remote control (RC-406, sold separately) for wireless operation of the receiver.

Display Features

Detachable Face w/ Hidden CD Slot: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD features a hidden CD slot behind a manual flip-up cover which blends into the front-panel of the head unit. The KDC-BT772HD also features a detachable face to deter theft (no face case provided). An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

1.5 Line Display: The KDC-BT772HD is equipped with a 16 digit 1.5 line LCD screen. You can select between English or Spanish text.

Variable Color Illumination: The Kenwood KDC-BT772HD features variable color display and button illumination. You can choose from one of 24 preset colors, have the unit scan through all 24 preset colors continuously, or customize your own color (RGB; 0-9). The custom setting allows you to individually adjust the intensity of Red, Green, and Blue (from 0-9) to better match your vehicle's interior lights. The same color setting can be applied to both the LCD and buttons, or you can choose a different color for the LCD and button illumination. The Kenwood logo remains red.

Brightness & Dimmer: You can adjust the brightness of the LCD and button illumination independently or together (from 0-31). You can also dim (on or off) the display and button illumination. You can even set a specific time for the "Off" and "On" dimmer setting to be activated.

Text Scroll: The KDC-BT772HD will display song/artist information text from CD, USB, Bluetooth, iPhone, and Android. You can set the text scrolling feature to three different modes (Auto, Once, or Off) to scroll longer titles across the screen.

12Hr/24Hr Clock: The head unit can be set to display a 12hr or 24hr clock. The unit also displays the day (Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, or Sat). The clock is only displayed when selected and does not displayed simultaneously with song/artist or station information. The day & time can be selected to remain on, even if the head unit is switched off (as long as the vehicle's key is in the accessory or start position).

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On or Off within the menu.

Q
Will this head unit control the BMW factory 6 disk changer?
[ Scott  Aug 12, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

I wish I knew the answer. My unit handles a single CD which is just fine with me. I'm sorry I can't be of any help.

hi, Rober i believe it doesn't support anything like that. It was the only model i found with Bluetooth and cd player in one. I have never came across any cd changer function like in the menu and i don't remember seeing any connections for the cd changer on the back either.

How can you remove unused sources from the menu, like Pandora, iHeartRadio, etc.? I don't want to scroll through unused inputs when selecting a source.

Thanks for all the answers. I reached out to Kenwood and it is possible after all. I tried it successfully. Here is their response: "You can turn off the Spotify, Pandora, iHeart, and the built-in aux. Simply press the SRC button repeatedly to enter STANDBY as a source, press the volume button to enter FUNCTION mode, turn the knob and select SOURCE SELECT, select a source, and adjust accordingly." -Kenwood Tech Support

Great question... from what I can tell no you can't.
[ CHARLES  Dec 16, 2018 ]
A
In have this head unit and don't know that you can remove unused sources from it. Its not like a computer, tablet or phone where if you don't use it get rid of it.
[ Ryan  Dec 16, 2018 ]
A
It is possible but I don't remember how. Read the instructions.

what power plug does this unit use? IOS or older style Kenwood? I'm doing a swap out.
[ Jeff  Dec 01, 2018 ]

A
Im not sure what you mean by power plug. It does have 2 USB inputs and a 3.5mm aux input. The stereo comes its own wire harness but I wouldn't have a pic of that. A lot of times if you look through the advertising pics crutchfield usually does a good job at showing the wiring harness as well. Hope this helps if not sorry.

Q
Has anyone had trouble with the Kenwood app?
[ Shane  Mar 12, 2018 ]
2 answers
A
I have both the kenwood app and the kenwood music app. If I am connected through bluetooth playing spotify and connect USB then I have to recycle through inputs on stereo back to spotify in order for it to charge and to keep using spotify through bluetooth. If you read manual it has some options related to all of this that you can change depending on if you are using android or iOS.
[ Fernando  Dec 01, 2018 ]

Yes, and i have never resolved it. I have a samsung j3 2016 and when i plug it into either usb port it locks up my phone and needs the battery pulled to reset it.....?? It has since updated the os on the phone about a month ago to the latest os, but really dont feel like pulling the battery again haha, spose someday i will try it. The bluetooth app works fine though, kinda sad i cant charge my phone from it though.

Can I use the rear input plug for my iPod I assume? I just need to route the wire out front, correct?

Yes that is correct!
[ BRET  Mar 01, 2018 ]

Correct, route an extension cable from the deck to the iPod. I did a 2 usb/Aux dash mount jacks to keep the install clean.
[ Stacy  Mar 01, 2018 ]
A
Correct, you need to pull the rear USB port to where you can plug into it and should be fine.
