Product Research

Features

Qi Wireless Charging: Qi (pronounced "chee") wireless charging is the global standard for smartphone wireless charging. It uses electromagnetic fields to safely transfer power from a transmitting source (such as the Kenwood CAX-HL10 QI) to a receiving device (such as a Qi enabled iPhone or Android smartphone) through magnetic induction to wirelessly charge the device's battery without the need for a charging cable. The Kenwood KAX-HL10 is Qi-certified by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), having been thoroughly tested by independent laboratories to ensure their safety, interoperability, compatibility, and energy efficiency.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0: Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 lets you charge your device up to 4x faster than conventional chargers with up to 15 watts of charging power. It charges your device up to 80% capacity in only 35 minutes, compared to 16% with your device's normal charger. Depending upon the charging voltage of your device, the charger outputs 1.5A, 2A, or 3A. Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 employs Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV), which allows your portable device to determine what power level to request. It provides an accelerated charge rate to devices that are QuickCharge 3.0 or QuickCharge 2.0 compatible. To all other devices, it charges at a conventional charging rate. The QuickCharge port's output is as follows -

Charging Voltage Charging Output
5V 3A
9V 2A
12V 1.5A

Motorized Mounting Cradle: When your Qi enabled smartphone is placed near the CAX-HL10 QI's infrared sensor, the clamping arms will automatically motorize open, allowing you to easily set the phone into the mount. After the phone has been placed into the mount, the clamping arms will automatically motorize closed to lock and hold the phone firmly in place. To remove your phone, simply touch the sensor on the lower left side of the mount. A built-in battery allows the mounnt's arms to motorize open and close even when your vehicle's engine is turned off. An adjustable hook on the bottom of the cradle ensures your phone stays securely in place, preventing a sudden drop even during the bumpiest of road conditions.

Note: The mounting cradle's arms expanding from 2.25" to 3.5" wide to accommodate a variety of Qi enabled smartphone devices.

Mounting Options: The Kenwood CAX-HL10 QI offers three mounting options for your vehicle - Suction, Adhesive, and Vent. The ball-and-socket feature of each mount allows you to adjust the angle and orientation of the Qi wireless charger and your smartphone device.

  • Suction Cup Mount: The sturdy suction cup with locking function holds firmly to your vehicle's windshield.
  • Self Adhesive Mount: The self adhesive mounting plate firmly adheres to your vehicle's dashboard and then connects to the suction cup mount.
  • Air Vent Mount: The air vent mount attaches firmly to a variety of air vents found in today's vehicles.

Note: Do not install this product in your vehicle if its location or use would obstruct the driver's clear view of the road or the operation of any vehicle airbag. It is also the driver's responsibility to know and comply with the laws, rules, and regulations of the driving location, including, for example, passenger privacy rights, and not to use the device in any location where its installation or use is prohibited.

Power Requirements: The Kenwood CAX-HL10 QI includes a 12V/USB power adapter and 39" USB-C to USB-A cable to connect the wireless charging mount to your vehicle's 12-volt power port or cigarette lighter adapter port.

Over Heating Protection: During charging, if the temperature goes over 140 degrees (Fahrenheit), the Kenwood CAX-HL10 QI will automatically stop charging and the transmitter light wil flash red. When the temperature drops to 104 degrees (Fahrenheit), the CAX-HL10 QI will automatically start charging your smartphone device again.
