Kenwood DNX575S navigation receiver

Smartphone integration excellence

Kenwood designed the DNX575S to work seamlessly with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. No matter what phone you (or your passengers) prefer, you can access the apps you need without getting distracted from the matter at hand — driving your vehicle. The DNX575S gives you fingertip or voice control of your apps, and its beautiful 6.8" resistive touchscreen display offers plenty of real estate to suss out your sources and other important info — you can even customize the source button locations for easier access. And even if you're not into using Android Auto to access streaming services, you can still get control of select music apps (like Pandora and Spotify) through the receiver via a wireless Bluetooth connection for most Android devices.

WebLink moves more sweet apps into your dash

This Kenwood includes WebLink, which provides you simple in-dash control over select apps like YouTube and Yelp. What's especially nice is that WebLink works with both Android and iPhone. So load up the free WebLink for Kenwood app, plug in your phone, and you'll have quick access to some handy infotainment for your journey.

Pair two phones at once

If you're driving with a passenger, the DNX575S can pair with up to two phones at once. You'll be able to designate one phone as the priority but be able to switch between the two with ease, as well as have access to both phonebooks.

Garmin gets you there with top-notch guidance

Leave worries about getting lost behind, as the DNX575S supplies Garmin maps of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands. You'll also get reliable routing with spoken street names at turns, lane assistance, and realistic views of complicated intersections. Kenwood's interface also provides more opportunities for split-screen control, so you can still follow the maps as the stereo shows you what's playing or who's calling.

2 years of free INRIX traffic reports

You'll get a free 2-year subscription to INRIX traffic service, which provides quick updates on congestion along your route. You'll need to have your smartphone with the app on it connected to the receiver to take advantage of these traffic updates. INRIX updates require an in-app purchase after the 2-year subscription ends.

HD Radio

HD Radio™ tuner for enhanced sound

The DNX575S also features an HD Radio tuner. You'll enjoy much-improved AM/FM sound quality when you're tuned into a local participating station, and there's no subscription required — just tune it in like a regular radio station.

High-res audio

Ride with your favorite sources

This receiver will play all your CDs and DVDs, including discs loaded with music files, while an A/V input offers connection for more audio/video sources. A rear USB lets you add audio from an iPod or flash drive. You also get an microSD card slot for playing digital music files and map updates. You even listen to high-resolution lossless FLAC and WAV files stored on a thumb drive or SD card.

Drive coast-to-coast with satellite radio

Why struggle with stations fading away as you travel? You can hook up a SiriusXM satellite radio tuner (not included) to this receiver and access the wide variety of entertainment, sports, news, and commercial-free music satellite radio provides — and your favorite stations are always there. The DNX575S works with TuneMix, SportsFlash, and other new SiriusXM features, which give you even more customizable options for listening the way you want.

Ready for your Kenwood dash cam and more

The DNX575S is capable of connecting two different cameras, so you can see more when you're getting in and out of tight spots. If you've got a pair of rear-view cameras, you can reverse the image of the one up front to get a more precise picture. The receiver also features a dedicated input for Kenwood's DRV-N520 Drive Recorder so you can capture your travels in high definition.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

iDatalink Maestro lets you keep your factory extras — and add some upgrades

The DNX575S offers compatibility you won't find in many other aftermarket radios, thanks to the iDatalink Maestro module (not included). In a wide selection of vehicles, this module lets you keep factory features that you'd otherwise lose when you install a new radio. You'll also be able to check out engine performance data and other vehicle info on the Kenwood's screen. It'll even integrate your stealth K40 RL200di radar detector into the stereo's display, so you can see and hear about incoming threats. Once you've identified your vehicle, you'll see the iDatalink module offered on the way to the Shopping Cart if it's compatible.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our articles about Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

    Best navigation receiver ever!

Crutchfield customer from Dansville, NY on 8/8/2019

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I bought this receiver to replace a Planet Audio double din navigation receiver. The Kenwood, is SO much better of a receiver, in every way. The only thing I don't like/haven't find out if it's possible, it to choose a flash drive and have it play ALL the files randomly in ALL folders. I can get it to play randomly in a single folder, but I haven't figured out how to have it choose randomly from all folders. My work around is to put all MP3 files in the root folder, and not use sub folders, then it will randomly pick through all files. It's impossible to play only a single album, in order, if the songs are written to the flash drive that way. I was able to do this with the Planet Audio receiver it replaced. The GPS is SO much better in the Kenwood, and makes up for this. It may be that I just haven't figured out how to do it, and the documentation is really lacking on this topic. All in all, I'm glad for the upgrade!!!

Pros: A MUCH better GPS, it's a Garmin!!

Cons: I can't get it to play ALL the files randomly in ALL folders, on a FLASH DRIVE.

    Amazing Sound

Crutchfield customer from Troy, MI on 8/7/2019

    2005 Ford Mustang

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I installed this into my 2005 Ford Mustang GT with the Shaker 500 system a few months ago. I did not replace the factory speakers - I only replaced the head unit. At first I thought the sound was just ok. I adjusted the 10 band equalizer or whatever it comes with (lots of bands) and the sound still seemed kind of flat. It was still better than the Shaker I replaced but was ok. Then I started to explore the other sound options. I had no idea all of the options existed to taylor the sound pretty much however you want it. And it made the equalizer come alive. It now sounds like a high fidelity sound system you might expect on a high end car. Just amazing. Once you play around with it and get a feel for it it's one of the best units I've ever owned. And the navigation works very well, too. I installed the GPS antenna just behind the head unit on top of the vents under the dash and it works fine. Install was easy, sound is amazing, it does take a bit to learn it but once you do it's an excellent unit. I usually listen to my music on an attached USB but I recently discovered the HD radio this thing has and that sound amazing once you set the EQ for HD radio. Kenwood really stayed ahead of the game with their units. I'd buy again.

Pros: Sound is amazing - can customize it in many different ways, plug and play with harnesses, Navigation is excellent.

Cons: Takes a little bit of learning all the possible sound adjustments. But in the end it's a good thing.

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I really love this radio overall. I looked at a bunch before ordering. I got it mainly because it has the GPS as well. My biggest dislikes was that it said "Sirius Ready", and that was not the case. It is Sirius ready if you buy and add an extra receiver...I thought it was ready to subscribe and listen. That being said, I found Spotify and for $9.99 a month I can listen to any song I want and it plays right through my bluetooth from my phone to my radio. The sound of this radio is top notch. I installed it in my 2003 H2 myself thanks to the added wiring being done by Crutchfield. So worth the $24.99! Great sounding radio and with the add-ons, I can still use my steering wheel controls!

I have had this radio for about two weeks now. I like its responsiveness when switching between sources. The navigation is solid Garmin. The install was simple for my 2005 Chevy Colorado, but I don't recommend the Metra Dash kit. It was made of plastic and the tabs were very week where they screw to dash.

    Pros: Solid navigation receiver.

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Very nice radio replacing my 2007 Yukon stock radio. I had to buy 90° RCA & 3.5mm adapters and cut the plastic out of the back of the radio cavity. Lot wires to stuff in there along with idatalink maestro GM5 harnesses The worse part was snaking the Kenwood CMOS 230 backup camera. Get one of those USB plugs and swap out one of the cig lighters rin ypur cable to it. It took a couple of phone calls to Crutchfield to help this old novice goat. But it all came together They were great service techs. Noe I meed to go to school to operate it.....

Pros: Have Crutchfield wore your harness for you Trim kit fit perfect

Cons: Lot of time to install Had to cut back of pladtic within radio cavity 90° RCA & 3.5mm plug adapters were required Directions are not thorough

Great product, most happy, and the customer support at Crutchfield is top notch, being 70 miles above the arctic circle , and the nearest town 278 miles away, everything arrived intact and complete on board with the ice road truckers. I had on question, and it was promptly answered via Crutchfield live chat support. Top notch product but even better is the stellar Crutchfield customer support! Kudos.

Radio works fine. I was looking at an Alpine and this and my advisor suggested the Kenwood due to the Garmin navigation. When the system was installed I went to town and just to test it, I told it to navigate to my home. It tried to take me down a dead end road first and then past my actual street a mile. I had similar experiences with Garmin before. I should have known better. The factory GPS system was much better.

Put 2 of these in, one of which was replacing an older Kenwood 7210 that developed an intermittent right channel cut out after 8 or 9 years. Too bad since it was perfect otherwise. But the old PAC stuff still worked with the new unit so that was good. LOTS of trouble finding the reverse wire in the Mustang install. You are pointed to a 52 pin connector pin #13. No one said you have to unbolt and remove the whole plastic connection thing because the 52 pin connector you need is one of the 2 you cannot see or get to on the back of the unit and NOT the easy to get to one on the front. Oh well, it works now. I like Kenwoods rear usb for plugging a thumb drive with mp3's on it into as opposed to all the units that have the usb on the front only. I think the Xover area stuff is overly complicated and not explained well enough in the manual.

    Pros: Highly user modifiable

Cons: Highly user modifiable but not enough info in the manual to easily figure the results out.

This is a great radio and you can not go wrong with Garmin as the Nav. Very easy to program and and use while on the road. the backup camera is a must for any vehicle and should be add at your time of purchase. The unit comes with everything you need to mount your radio inside your car. Having great technical support from Crutchfield makes insulation a breeze. They will select everything you need to install your radio and keep your existing steering-wheel controls.

Pros: You can connect up to the radio for streaming your own music through the USB port, SD Micro Card, or use a DVD/CD to listen to music. Garmin as the Nav controls offering to the user Traffic updates as you drive and places of interest. Easy to use radio while driving. You can see the display at any angle and adjust for this, also it is still usable while my top is down and the sun is out. HD Radio brings in more stations then you would ever think of using. Backup Camera a must...

Cons: Small learning curve to know what controls do what.

Great head unit for my 2008 Silverado. I also got the Ready Harness which made the installation much easier. I ended up having to remove the plastic back brace in the radio cavity so the head unit would fit properly. The SiriusXM and GPS connectors were hitting the brace and not letting the head unit seat properly.

Pros: Has all the features of a factory unit.

    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The Kenwood DNX575S seems to be a good choice for my 2004 Thunderbird. The trim pieces furnished by Crutchfield are excellent. The provided instructions are less than they could be, and the directions for the optional accessories (Backup camera, SiriusXM converter, GPS antenna) were missing altogether. The phone support was excellent, however, and I was able to get most of the features working. I still need to design and build an adapter to make the back-up camera work with this radio. I mean not only that it doesn't work, but Crutchfield does not have an adapter that will make it work. So I give 5 stars to the radio, 5 stars to the back-up camera, 5 stars to the SiriusXM adapter, 4 stars to the telephone help line, 2 stars to the other adapters and 2 stars to whoever didn't think through the entire installation. Call it 4 stars overall.

    Pros: Good looking installation

Cons: I was probably the first to put this device with the back-up camera in a Thunderbird, so Crutchfield didn't have a lot of help for the finishing touches.

Great unit. Installed in my 2005 Ford F150 with no issues. Bought the dash install kit and the pre wired harness. Setup was not hard but HD radio was not common in my area. Once I turned that off the radio tuned fine. The EQ is great and sounds great with the stock Ford speakers. Garmin GPS was the same as my dedicated unit. Sync with my Android phone was easy. Phone system and mic are great and calls sound good. Unit auto mutes when a call is made or recieved. Have not connected backup camera yet.

Excellent radio with all the features one should want, and there's no need to worry about setting the time if you connect the GPS antenna. From ACC/engine start, it only takes approx. 13 econds before it is fully functional, however, it will display the backup camera without the guidelines during that startup time, but they do display once radio is fully ativate; and the Bluetooth connection with an iPhone is almost instamatic.

Plug and play into my '16 sprinter (well with a little help from Crutchfield). Except the mic...that's pretty lame. Have to splice into wires to gain access to OEM mic. Not cool.

Pros: Plug and play with Crutchfield's add ons. Apple CarPlay is pretty cool.

I've been very pleased with the function of the Kenwood head unit. it does everything I expected and a few things I didn't expect. What I'm really pleased with is the Crutchfield support. I consider myself not too shabby with electronics and signal path. The few times I got stuck were due to wiring in my 2006 Mustang. The Crutchfield techs were able to help pretty quick despite this being during a post holiday heavy call time. Though I only talked to a couple of techs, each about different things, I found each very knowledgeable and very good natured. No judgement, no "read your Ford manual" just very helpful I also bought the pre-made harness, the tech that put the harness together threw in some easy splice connectors. Those were awesome, even if you are comfortable with solder, these connectors made quick and easy work of the brake and reverse connections. overall, the Kenwood is an awesome unit and a great bang for the buck but the Crutchfield service gets the highest marks from me.

Great performance. The typical Garmin GPS you have known to love. Everything works as expected however the learning curve to use this is a bit long. It does have a delay of a few seconds when the vehicle starts presumably doing a self check. I installed it myself in a 2002 Toyota Tundra with only a moderate amount of difficulty. In direct sunlight the display screen can be a little "washed out due to sun reflection on the glossy glass. I am very pleased!

    Pros: Wonderful Garmin GPS

2015 chevy traverse - Kendwood radio . . . The radio install is usually done by professionals. I had to do a lot of digging(phone support from Kenwood, Crutchfield, Meastro) to understand how to install. Taking out the old radio was easy(found utube). The install was difficult. My preparation (4 days+-) was key. A lot of unknowns for the first time installer. I had a lot of questions about the wiring harness enclosed. I did not know I needed a new Sirious xm transponder. For a key question on wiring( cut wires and connect up ) I got conflicting answers from Cruchfield. I did not know I needed a new speaker for car sounds. It came with the kit from Cruchfield. I had to cut out part of the CAR back phone support plate to make room for wiring. As of today I have 95% of the phone functions working. The Kenwood radio DNX575S seems to be a little to complicated. I am 73 years old but I can still do stuff.

    Onboard Navigation

Garmin Navigation: With built-in Garmin & HERE navigation software and map data, the Kenwood DNX575S features on-screen maps of the United States, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Canada, and Mexico. The built-in maps include over 6-million Points of Interest (POIs) such as hotels, restaurants, gas stations, attractions, parking, airports, ATMs, and more. The built-in navigation software provides you with calculated on-screen routes and audible directions to follow in order to reach your destination safely.

Note: While the receiver's map database was judged to be as accurate as possible at the time of its release (2016), a map database can never be 100% accurate. Road information that is maintained in the map databases, such as turn restrictions or road names may change over time.

Software/Map Data Updates: When the preloaded maps are considered out of date, the Kenwood receiver will provide periodic notification at startup. Garmin software and map updates can be purchased and downloaded as needed, via microSD card. Garmin supports map updates for five years for each model year. To find a software or map update, please go to www.garmin.com/kenwood.

Note: The microSD card must remain installed in the navigation receiver in order for the new map data to be accessible; it is not copied over to the receiver's internal memory. This means that if you want to update the maps, you effectively lose the use of the microSD card slot as a media playback option.

GPS Receiver & Antenna: The Kenwood DNX575S employs a high-sensitivity GPS receiver that is forgiving of less than optimal antenna placement, giving you additional placement options. The included GPS antenna features a self-adhesive base and an attached 11.5' cable which plugs into the back of the head unit. The GPS antenna is designed to be mounted inside the vehicle on the dash. The GPS antenna measures 1.3125" (w) x 0.625" (h) x 1.4375" (d). The self-adhesive pad measures 2.5625" square.

    • Acquisition Time: 29 seconds (cold)
    • Update Rate: 1/second, continuous
    • Accuracy: <2.5 meters continuous (Position), 0.1 meter/sec (Velocity)

Note: The navigation receiver took approximately 14.1 seconds to calculate directions from Charlottesville, Virginia to Los Angeles, California. It only took 7.3 seconds to calculate directions from Charlottesville, Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland. These tests were done inside the Crutchfield Lab of the Crutchfield Head Quarters. Results will vary based on length of calculated route and your surrounding area.

INRIX Traffic: You can receive INRIX traffic information and weather forecast through the Kenwood Excelon DNX575S by connecting your compatible iPhone or Android smartphone with "Kenwood's Traffic Powered By INRIX" application (for Apple iOS 7.1+ and Android OS 4.0.3+) installed. While the DNX575S is in navigation mode, it pulls real-time data from the INRIX Traffic app on your smartphone which provides you with up-to-the-minute traffic, weather, parking, traffic cameras, and travel advisory information on-screen. You get 2 years free access to INRIX traffic information (fees will apply after 2nd year). Your iPhone must be connected via USB, while your Android smartphone must be connected via Bluetooth to the Kenwood navigation receiver.

    • Traffic: By automatically learning a user's driving habits, INRIX Traffic personalizes routes to avoid the worst traffic, recommends trips and departure times, and provides automatic, intelligent alerts to keep users aware of changing road conditions. INRIX even provides real-time images from traffic cameras along major roadways to supplement the traffic information.
    • Weather: INRIX provides local area current temperatures, forecasted weather conditions, and severe weather alerts. It also gives you advance warning of dangerous weather-related road conditions ahead, keeping your safer along your route.
    • Parking: INRIX helps you to find detailed parking information, including parking availability in nearby garages and pricing information.
    • Fuel: INRIX also helps you find nearby fuel stations and compare fuel prices.

On-Screen Map: The Kenwood DNX575S displays a real-time moving map illustrating your current position and intended route. It will show map scale and geographic details such as lakes, rivers, highways and towns. Your route is marked with a magenta line. A checkered flag marks your destination. As you travel the DNX575S guides to your destination with arrows on the map and directions at the top of the screen. The upper-left corner of the screen indicates the distance to your next maneuver. During your calculated route, your arrival time is displayed in the lower left corner, your current speed is shown in the lower right corner. The posted speed limit for most major roads is displayed near the lower right corner as well. The unit allows you to zoom, pan, and point using the touchscreen during navigation.

    • Map Detail: You can adjust the amount of detail shown on the map screen. More detail may cause the map to be slower.
    • 2D/3D Map View: You can changes the perspective of the map from 2D North-Up (displays the map in 2 dimensions with North at the top), 2D Track-Up (displays the map in 2 dimensions with your direction of travel at the top of the screen), 3D Track-Up (displays the map in 3 dimensions with your direction of travel at the top of screen).
    • Vehicle Type: You can change the icon (arrow, station wagon, sports car, compact car, SUV, jeep, RV, or sled) used to display your position on the map.
    • Color Mode: Select between Day (for a bright background), Night (for a black background) or Auto (to automatically switch between the two) for the on-screen map.
Note: In Split-Screen mode, you can view song/artist information (including album art) of your audio source while you also viewing the navigation map. In addition, the backup camera can be displayed in Split-Screen mode along with the map screen. You can even watch video in Split-Screen mode along with the map when the vehicle's parking brake is engaged.

Text-To-Speech Voice Prompts: The unit's text-to-speech voices "read and speak" the same words that are displayed on the unit's screens. The voices have an extensive vocabulary and they pronounce the street names as you approach turns. Voice prompts can heard from both of your front speakers, only the left front speaker, or only the right front speaker. You can independently adjust the volume (0-40) of the voice prompts without affecting the main volume. The unit offers English, French, and Spanish voice prompts.

Note: You can continue to listen to your music source while navigating. The DNX575S will mute the music source, when there is a text-to-speech voice prompt. Once the voice prompt has ended, your music volume will automatically raise to previous setting.

Driver Assistance: The DNX575S features Turn & Lane Assistance, Exit Services, and Speed Limit Icons to assist you along the calculated route to your destination.

    • Turn & Lane Assistance: While navigating a route, a preview of the next turn, lane change, or other maneuver appears in the upper-left corner of the map. Lane Assist guides you to the correct lane for an approaching turn or exit, making unfamiliar intersections and exits easy to navigate.
    • Exit Services: The Exit Services function lets you search roadway exits for food, lodging, and rest areas so you are never left guessing what is around the bend. You must be on a major highway or road to use this feature.
    • Speed Limit Icon: A speed limit icon may appear as you travel on major roadways. This icon displays the current speed limit of the roadway. The unit's speed limit icon feature is for information only and does not replace the driver's responsibility to abide by all posted speed limit signs and to use safe driving judgment at all times.

Destination & Location Screens: The DNX575S offers a variety of destination/location screens & functions to help you along your route.

    • Where Am I?: The "Where Am I?" feature gives you instant access to important information in case of an emergency. When you select "Where Am I?" from the menu, you get the coordinates (including elevation) of your current position, plus the nearest address and intersections. There are also menus to help you locate the nearest hospitals, police stations, gas stations, and roadside assistance. You can also save the location for future reference.
    • Where To? Screen: The "Where To?" screen provides several different ways to enter your destination. The navigation system automatically searches for places near your current location. You can also choose to have the DNX575S search for places in a different city, a recent destination, a favorite destination, projected destination, or along your current route.
      • Browse Map: Allows you to search for a destination by touching and dragging the map.
      • Go Home: You can store one home location to allow you to calculate a route home from any current location.
      • Address/Cities/Intersections: Input your destination address by house number, street, city, and zip-code. You can also search for a city by name or search two intersecting streets.
      • POI Category + Quick Search: The detailed maps loaded in this navigation system contain locations, such as restaurants, hotels, parking, auto services, and other POIs (points-of-interest). You can use these categories to browse for nearby businesses and attractions. After you have performed a search for a point-of-interest, certain categories may display a Quick Search list that displays the last four destinations you selected.
      • Favorites & Recents: You can save all of your favorite places in the navigation system, so you can quickly navigate to them later. You can also choose from one of your most recent destinations (up to 50) or waypoints.
      • Search Bar & Shortcuts: You can use the Search Bar to search for locations by entering a category, brand name, address, or city name. In addition, you can add up to 36 shortcuts to the Where to? menu. A shortcut can point to a location, a category, or a search tool.
    • Where I've Been/Trip Log: The "Where I've Been" application allows you to view your previous routes and places you have stopped on the map. In addition, the device keeps a Trip Log, which is a record of the path you have traveled. The Travel History setting must be enabled in order for the Where I've Been and Trip Log features to function.

Trends: The DNX575S has the ability to recall frequent destinations and historic traffic information to help calculate your route faster.

    • myTrends: The myTrends feature senses when you are driving to a common destination and displays the destination and estimated time of travel in the navigation bar on the map. myTrends does not work when you first begin using your navigation system. To effectively use the myTrends feature, your frequent destinations must be marked as favorites, and a regular pattern of driving habits must be established with three days of regular driving usage.
    • trafficTrends: When the trafficTrends feature is enabled, the navigation system uses historic traffic information to calculate more efficient routes. Different routes may be calculated based on traffic trends for the day of the week or based on the time of day.

ecoRoute: The ecoRoute feature calculates your vehicle's fuel economy, carbon footprint, the fuel price of navigating to your destination, and offers tools for improving fuel efficiency. The first time you access the ecoRoute features, you will be asked to enter fuel and mileage information (Fuel Type, City Fuel MPG, HWY Fuel MPG, Fuel Price) about your vehicle.

    • Fuel Economy: If you have entered your vehicle profiles and the current fuel price, the DNX575S calculates fuel used, the average fuel economy for your vehicle, your carbon footprint, and the cost of the fuel consumed.
    • At The Pump: At your next fill-up, you can enter in fuel price, amount of fuel used, and the distance you traveled to calculate your vehicle's miles-per-gallon (MPG).
    • ecoChallenge Tool: The ecoChallenge tool helps you maximize your fuel economy by scoring your driving habits. The higher your overall score for a driving challenge, the more fuel you could save. You overall score is the average of these 3 scores -
      • Speed: gain points for driving at the best speed for conserving fuel, which is 45-60mph for most vehicles.
      • Acceleration: gain points for gradual acceleration; lose points for rapid acceleration
      • Braking: gain points for gradual braking; lose points for hard braking
    • Mileage Report: Mileage reports provide the distance, the time, the average fuel economy, and the fuel cost of navigation to a destination. A mileage report (up to 20) is created for every route that you drive. If you stop a route on your navigation system, a mileage report is created for the distance you traveled.
Note: The data provide by the ecoRoute feature is only an estimate. The data is not actually read from your vehicle.

Route Preferences/Avoidances: When calculating a route, you can select the following preferences; faster time, shorter distance, less fuel, or off road. You can also program the unit to avoid certain things that may be undesirable on your route; such as U-Turns, Highways, Toll Roads, Carpool Lanes, Unpaved Roads, and Ferries.

Auto Reroute/Detour: If you happen to depart from your original route, the internal navigation system recalculates the route and provides new route instructions. You can also select a specific area to detour around. The navigation system will attempt to get you back on your original route as quickly as possible, after calculating a detour. If the route you are currently taking is the only reasonable option, the DNX575S might not calculate a detour.

Trip Planner (Multiple Destination Routing): You can create and save a trip with multiple destinations (up to 500 via points) using the Trip Planner. Once you have entered your destinations, you can manually set them in the order of your preference, or allow the device to calculate the most efficient route. Trip itineraries can be saved in memory for future use. You can even add scheduling information to each location in your trip, including the desired arrival time and layover duration at each location.

Trip Computer: The trip information page displays your current speed and direction, and provides helpful statistics about your trip. Dual trip odometers keep up with your total mileage. The page also indicates the distance and driving time to your next maneuver, as well as the distance and driving time to your destination. Your maximum speed and moving average speed are also displayed. The information can be reset in advance of your next trip.

Safe Mode: Safe Mode disables all navigation system functions that require significant operator attention and could become a distraction while driving when the vehicle's parking brake is disengaged. You will need to engage the vehicle's parking brake to enter addresses or other advance navigation functions when you have the unit set to Safe Mode.

GPS Simulator: You can turn the unit's GPS receiver off and simulate travel along a projected route.

Music Enhancements: You can restore the sound lost due to audio compression, as well as enhance the sound by virtually manipulating the soundscape.

    • Realizer: When MP3, WMA, or AAC files encoded at a low bit rate (less than 96 kbps, 44.1k, 48kHz) are played, the Realizer feature boosts low frequencies which can be lost during compression. Set to Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, or Off.
    • Supreme: When MP3, WMA, or AAC files encoded at a low bit rate (less than 96 kbps, 44.1k, 48kHz) are played, the Supreme Setting function restores their high frequencies so the sound quality is closer to files encoded at a high bit rate. The processing is optimized for the compression format and the bit rate used. When the Supreme Setting is Off, the unit plays the original sound stored in the audio file.
    • Space Enhancer & Stage EQ: You can set the Space Enhancer to Small, Large, or Off. Each setting value indicates the soundscape level. You can also virtually raise the sound position heard from your speakers; the Stage EQ can be set to High, Middle, Low, or Off.

Pressing and holding the Power/Home button turns the unit off completely.

Remote Control: The Kenwood DNX575S offers compatibility with factory steering wheel controls (adapter sold separately) and is compatible with Kenwood's IR wireless remote control (sold separately) for added convenience. Kenwood also offers a remote application which allows you to control the receiver from your smartphone device.

    • Steering Wheel Controls: The head unit features a factory steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately).
    • Optional Remote Control: The optional Kenwood KNA-RCDV331 IR wireless remote control (113RCDV331, sold separately) unit is designed to operate this Kenwood DVD head unit. The wireless remote controller operates off of two supplied "AAA" batteries. The remote operates off of IR transmission so the KNA-RCDV331 must be pointed at the front-panel of the Kenwood head unit within direct line of sight.
    • Remote S App: The Kenwood Remote S (for Apple iOS 9.0+ and Android OS 5.0+) is an application that will connect and control the in-dash receiver from your compatible Apple or Android device via Bluetooth, like a wireless remote control. You can select source input, as well as command basic playback controls such as Play/Pause or Previous/Next Track from the touchscreen of your compatible smartphone. This application can also display the receiver's source and song/artist information on the screen of your compatible Apple iOS or Android device.

    Q
    Is the installation kit included?
    [ Patricia  Jun 28, 2019 ]
    5 answers
    A
The basic install components are included, however, if you're only purchasing the receiver/unit, you'll want to order an install kit specific to your vehicle (unless you're doing fabrications/modifications outside a simple "plug and play" install). Most units will come with a sleeve, brackets, and head unit trim, but this is not a vehicle specific install kit. Reach out if you need more help! Crutchfield usually has install kits recommended with purchase and you can do so based on your specific vehicle.
    [ Dominic  Jun 30, 2019 ]
    A
There was a nice kit with all the parts I needed. I did have to buy a tool PEP Boys to pry off the dash panels. I also suggest getting a service manual for your car because there is always something else you need to know. Cruttcfirld is very good about answering these questions but the picture often makes a difference.
    [ thomas  Jun 29, 2019 ]
    A
While, on the Crutchfield DNX575S webpage, enter in the car year make, model and a "See the installation gear you'll Need" link should appear. Click and it may show a install kit that doesn't cost due to a provided discount. Just click on the add to cart button and it should add the radio and free or reduced price install kit to your cart....for more detailed info, I'd recommend speaking with someone with Crutchfield.
    [ Brian  Jun 28, 2019 ]
    A
The first thing you need to do is check to see if this system fits your car, if it does fit, Crutchfield has in most cases, the installation kit to match your vehicle and most of them are free with the purchase..At least that was my case when I bought the Kenwood DNX575S a few months ago.

When I purchased mine, the dash kit and wiring harness was included at no charge. They are separate products. I did pay extra and had the wiring harness pre-wired. Even though I could have easily done it myself, it saved me a lot of time.

How do you get your display back after battery outage?
    [ Michael  Jun 27, 2019 ]
    2 answers
    A
Woah, that's a new one. If there is no sound and no screen, first check the inline fuse to make sure the radio has power. If the fuse is good try page 73 in the pdf manual under "setting up" press the button with the three horizontal lines, a pop up should appear with the base adjustment touch screen selection buttons. Another thought is if you had the display set to dim when the lights are on at all night? Page 76 in the Kenwood pdf manual covers that.

    [ curt  May 18, 2019 ]
    4 answers
    A
Get the Kenwood brand it is great you won't be disappointed
    [ VINCENT  May 29, 2019 ]
    A
Probably not. The Kenwood uses and needs the factory subwoofer amplifier. It doesn't use the factory center channel though. If that's the one that's busted you may be OK. Also the door speakers and the back seat speakers are powered by the Kenwood, so if those speakers are not working, you may be OK. And it occurs to me that you probably have a different car than mine (2004 Thunderbird) so I probably don't know anything about your problem. You should do some more troubleshooting and make sure where the problem lies. The direct answer to your question is that the Kenwood only powers the main speakers, and the subwoofers require the factory amplifier and speakers.
    [ thomas  May 29, 2019 ]
    A
If you plan on replacing the entire system in your car the Kenwood would do you nicely. If the factory amp you speak of is separate from the head end of your OEM system and you're thinking of using the DNX575S between the head end and the speakers, then no, it would not work. If you have powered speakers, like found in a Corvette and wish to replace the OEM Denso system which has a separate pre amplifier, then it will work, as long as you removed the separate pre amp from the loop.

Depends on your vehicle. It does not work with our 2013 Toyota Highlander even though the information for the extra accessories needed for installation says it does. I did not find out until I received the wiring harness instructions that our Highlander was not compatible. I can't get any pinout information from Kenwood to begin to attempt a fix. While I purchased a new camera from Crutchfield, I don't see why not as long as your camera has the yellow RCA plug on it to connect to the cable coming out of the head unit. The head unit has and input for a front camera and a rear camera. It also has 2 wires you have to connect to your parking brake circuit and your backup lights circuit. Crutchfield support was great at helping me find those wires in my Nissan Rogue.

As long as the existing camera has an RCA type jack for its output, it should work fine, Kenwood specs the camera to be a CMOS 3XX, which most newer ones built since around 2016 are anyway.

You can use the Navigation system and still listen to your music source at the same time, the navigation will lower the music so you can hear the turn by turn instructions. You can also have the option to turn off the voice part of the nav if you don't want your music to be interrupted as well.
