Some people just have to have the best. If this describes you, the Kenwood Excelon DNX9980HD will definitely satisfy your jones. This top-of-the-line navigation receiver will turn your dashboard into a multimedia showcase, with navigation, free traffic services, hands-free calling, HD Radio™ reception, PANDORA® Internet radio, voice control, and more.
Kenwood's understandably proud of their advanced voice command feature. It lets you control a variety of receiver functions just by speaking, so you can keep your eyes on the road. You can get directions, find a song on your iPod, switch sources, or dial a phone number, all without taking your hands off the wheel. An included external microphone ensures your commands are heard loud and clear.
Built-in Garmin navigation
You'll appreciate the lightning-fast operation and superior guidance from this receiver's Garmin navigation system. You can tap into millions of points of interest when looking for services and attractions, so you'll have plenty of information at your fingertips, wherever your travels take you. The built-in NAVTEQ traffic receiver routes you around congestion when you're driving through metropolitan areas, so you can stay on time during your commute. Best of all, there's no fee for the service — it's always free.
Play your media, plus PANDORA® Internet radio
With your iPhone, an optional cable and the PANDORA® app, you can access your favorite PANDORA® stations from the face of the receiver, whenever you're in range of your network. All the goodies you're used to seeing on PANDORA®, like album art, and track info will be right on the screen. And "thumbs-up" and "thumbs-down" ratings are just a touch away.
The USB input, SD card slot, and two audio/video inputs give you the connections you need to add other audio sources, game consoles, or digital media. For the back-seat passengers, an audio/video output will send movies and other content to your rear video screens. Dual-zone controls let you listen to music up front, while a movie's playing in the rear.
Bluetooth for convenience and safety
Parrot, a leader in Bluetooth technology, has teamed up with Kenwood to bring you hands-free calling in the DNX9980HD. When a call comes in to your compatible phone, your music mutes and caller ID info shows up on the screen. With a tap of your finger or a couple of words, you'll hear your caller over your vehicle's speakers. You'll talk through the included visor-mount microphone, as you keep your attention on your driving. And as an added bonus, you can stream music from any compatible Bluetooth device.
HD Radio™ for superior sound and more
HD Radio stations offer superior sound quality on their AM/FM broadcasts and additional programming on secondary channels. The DNX9980HD's built-in HD Radio tuner lets you access that improved sound and extra programming, as well as tag tunes for future purchase at the iTunes® store.
Outstanding sound quality
This receiver will send crisp, clear audio to your speakers — you can use the 13-band EQ and an extensive selection of digital signal processing tools to tweak the sound for your vehicle. If you're building a complete mobile surround sound theater, the DNX9980 also includes 5.1-channel decoding and a full set of 5.1 preamp outputs, a feature you'll rarely find on other DVD receivers.
Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
