About the Kenwood KFC-P683C
Drive a Mazda or Ford and looking to upgrade to the superior stereo imaging and overall musicality of component speakers? Then Kenwood has the component system for you! The KFC-P683C produces powerful bass from a 6"x8" pearl mica injection-molded polypropylene woofer cone with its butyl rubber surround, while smooth-sounding, detailed highs flow from a 3/4" PEI balanced dome tweeter.
The 5-way tweeter mounting system (including flush, surface, and angle mounts) allows you to focus the upper register with amazing precision. The 2-way passive crossover network includes K-Glow tweeter protection circuitry excessive power is shunted away from the tweeter to an incandescent lamp. The crossover network is housed in a compact, see-through casing so, when your system is crankin', your tweeters sound clean and your crossovers look cool!
The KFC-P683C is efficient enough to be driven by a high-powered receiver's built-in amplifier, but the separate woofers and tweeters will really shine when fed on the ultra-clean signals from an external amplifier.Details:

Woofer Cone Material: The woofer cones are constructed of Strato-Blue Pearl-Mica Injection-Molded Polypropylene. Uniform pearl mica crystals form an overlapping structure that adds strength and heat resistance to polypropylene, resulting in reduced distortion and improved reliability.
Butyl Rubber Surrounds: For a smoother response and improved durability, each woofer uses a butyl rubber surround.
Tweeter Material: Each 3/4" balanced-dome tweeter is made with PEI. PEI (Poly-Ether Imide) is a polymer film that has ideal sound characteristics, making it perfect for use as a tweeter. A PEI balanced-dome tweeter produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.
Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters may be flush, surface or angle mounted. The tweeters swivel inside the flush and surface mount sockets, but they do not swivel on the angle mount brackets. The angle mount brackets surface mount to the vehicle and hold the tweeters at a fixed angle (15 or 60 degrees).
Tweeter Mounting Dimensions:
|Flush Mount (swivel)||Surface Mount (swivel)||Angle Mount (fixed 15 or 60 degree angle)|
|Mounting Depth||0.672"||0.428" (screw depth)||0.531" (screw depth)|

2-Way Crossovers: The crossovers feature a 5kHz high-pass network for the tweeters and a 5kHz low-pass network for the woofers.
K-Glow Tweeter Protection Circuit: This tweeter protection circuit uses an incandescent lamp to divert power from the tweeter at excessive input levels. The lamp's impedance increases with heat, so, as the power to the tweeter increases, the circuit absorbs more power, continually protecting the tweeter from damage.
Input/Output Connections: The crossover input wires are bare ended, and the output wires are terminated with quick-slides.
Mounting Tabs: There are two mounting tabs on each crossover.
Crossover Dimensions: 4.865"L x 1.791"W x 1.067"H
