Q
I want to upgrade the dash speakers in my 2022 RAV4 with a factory head unit. Should I install the crossover? Thanks
mark  Sep 23, 2023
1 answer
A
The Kenwood Excelon KFC-X3C would be an excellent choice there (pun intended LOL), Mark! You would need to install the crossover as you can damage your speakers without it, and the crossover also would provide the best possible sound quality from the Kenwood speakers.

Q
Are these 50 watts per speaker or 50 watts for the pair(meaning 25 watts each)?
eliseo  Mar 04, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Eliseo, and thank you for your question. The rating is per speaker, not total for the pair.

Q
I'm planning to change out my dash speakers for my 2022 Venza xle. Will it work for the factory JBL HU?
kalun  Feb 02, 2023
1 answer
A
This would be compatible with the factory JBL system. These speakers have a similar impedance to the factory speakers, which we measured at 3.4-ohm. The safest option would be to replace with a 4-ohm speaker like the KFC-X3C.

Q
I need 3 speakers, 2x dash corner plus one on center. Do you sell single speakers?
hannu  Oct 22, 2020

A
Most of our speakers do come in pairs. Depending on the car the speakers are going in we might have a speaker that is sold individually. We would want to check fitment of the speaker to make sure it works in your car. If you need help give us a call at 1-800-324-9695 and we'll be glad to help you find a solution!

Q
I am installing these in a 2020 gladiator. the speakers came with a inline crossover. do I connect the Metra plug after the crossover or do I remove the crossover?
luis  Jul 16, 2020

A
I recommend installing the inline crossover. It may not be needed depending on the stock system in the Gladiator, but it doesn't hurt anything to be installed.

Mine came with a bass blocking capacitor which I was easily able to remove. I unsoldered the wires from my factory speaker and soldered them to the new Kenwood speakers and just plugged them in. I'm in a unique situation where my car has the JBL Greenedge system which is supposed to be ultra efficient and the amplifier only puts out a few watts per channel. I was VERY surprised to hear the Kenwood speakers play rich and full on the factory amplifier. I can literally go to "Max" on the dial and they play clean. Yes, they would be happy with more power but could not be more pleased with the sweet, balanced sound they are providing. The factory JBL upgrades system really wakes up when speakers are replaced with ones capable of true fidelity. I'm sure the Toyota JBL Greenedge system has factory crossover settings in place, not sure if you'd want to blast these little speakers with 150 watts of full range bass?? That being said, Crutchfield was out of stock on these speakers and as soon as they were available again, I purchased another pair for the rear corners on the Camry JBL system. I previously had FOCAL Toyota Specific speakers in the rear corners but they were VERY shrill and harsh, the Kenwoods are much richer and more pleasing. Sorry for the long answer of..... YES, they are in the wiring harness and are designed to be removed, they simply unplug out of the line.

Hello, I am looking for a pair of speakers to replace my tweeters speakers in my 2016 Jeep roll bar. Will these speakers need a bass blocker ?
james  Mar 24, 2020

A
If you are sending a full-range signal to them a bass blocker would definitely be a good idea.

Works great with my 1993 Ford Mustang. Matter of fact, I love the way it sounds and handles the power from my old school Kenwood deck.

You can either call crutchfield or go to their website, input your truck information, and find out if they do for your truck.

I want to install this in The dash corners of a Subaru Legacy 2017. Sadly there's no wiring harness for them, so how do I connect them? Does it include some wires or do I have to purchased a harness myself?
michael  Sep 24, 2019

A
These speakers come with two 12" lengths of wire that you can splice into the stock wiring using tap connectors like these: www.crutchfield.com/p_669PP605/item.html Then you can connect the other end to the speakers

I want to run these active with some illusion audio 6.5's off a 4 channel amp. The pioneer headunit will provide the crossover set point adjustments for me, my question: how do I set the high pass for the tweeters themselves or is there a capacitor inline already to do that? Where should I start the crossover points for these on my head unit? Just confused as to whether to set low pass at xx and high pass around xx what that will do to the tweeters?
