About the Kenwood Excelon XR-W1202
High-performance bass
High-performance bass
Kenwood puts their most advanced technology into the Excelon subwoofers, so you can enjoy reliable high-performance bass in your ride. The oversized XR-W1202 12" sub is designed to move more air than a standard sub, which means more sound in your vehicle. It comes equipped with an oversized polypropylene cone attached to a heavy-duty rubber surround that allows for extra excursion, so it'll faithfully reproduce those low notes. The XR-W1202 is rated to handle up to 400 watts RMS so you know it's ready to rock.
Keeping it cool
A dual ventilation system forces heated air out of the motor structure through the back and the sides of the housing, so the sub stays cooler during extended play. This ventilation system also allows this sub to operate in a shallow enclosure, good news if you're building a box to go in a tight spot. Install this Kenwood in a suitable box, hook up a nice amp, and you're ready to rumble.

Features
Sealed Enclosure Applications: Kenwood recommends sealed enclosure volumes from 0.6 ft³ to 1.25 ft³, with an optimum volume of 0.88 ft³. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable for all types of music.
Ported Enclosure Applications: Kenwood recommends ported enclosure volumes from 1.2 ft³ to 2.0 ft³. The optimum volume is 1.5 ft³ with a 12-3/4" wide x 1-3/8" tall x 29" long slot port. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed, so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output.
Spring Terminals: The spring post terminals will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.
Additional Measurements:
- Frame: the speaker frame doesn't have a uniform diameter; at the widest points the diameter is 14.665", at the narrow points it's 12.821"
- Woofer Displacement: 0.098 ft³ (2.8 liters)

I have two xr w1202's wired to 1 ohm ran by a kx 1200.1 with a birth certificate of 1440 watts and it's loud enough to make your ears ring they're currently in a 1.25cf per sub sealed enclosure I've been told they'll be louder in a ported enclosure so I'll just have to try
