Not as straight forward as it should have been, I had this kit pre crimped, I had to change and correct the setup for my vehicle to operate the stereo.

It did not work due to the unique nature of my vehicle which is an RV. There is an intermediate harness that the RV uses, and ended up not using this produce.

They wiring interface worked fine, I could not get the steering wheel interface to work ,after checking the factory web site, the vehica! Comparability differs from the Crutchfield data ,my Mercedes Sprinter work van was not compatible ,the site said to call , I have not, it's easy just to reach over and push a button.

Proper conection for unit

The item worked properly after purchasing the wrong item from another company. I have the 2013 Mercedes sprinter passenger with the 13 speaker setup but with the single din stock radio. This is the right wire harness for this system "2013 Mercedes sprinter passenger with the 13 speaker Single Din".

After calling Crutchfield's excellent technical support I was able to get the unit up and running. The instructions included with the wiring kit left a lot to be desired. Four stars for the product. Decent instructions would have given it a fifth star.

works as it should but the instructions are virtually worthless aside from the color coding. . After a call to the excellent tech staff at Crutchfield we had it up and working in under 2 minutes. I would also add I am not the technically challenged type. I have installed major marine electronics packages and many head units over the years. Just plan on calling to get the gist of what this thing does with can / bus converter. I was perhaps overly conservative and did not want to connect the wrong thing and cause damage to sensitive electronics so I opted to call. I suppose if I just kept working by process of elimination I probably would have had it working but elected not to run that risk, had I gone that route who knows what the outcome may have been?

Kit came with package I ordered, was missing screws to attach radio to brackets, wiring harness instructions were poor and I didn't understand why I needed a NAV kit when I just ordered a plan kit. Called Crutchfield customer assistance and was treated like I was stupid. The instruction sheet needs to be updated with clear instructions that show you need the use of the NAV block to get power to the unit.

It really is pretty straight forward, but then again, I did have to hit the Axxess website to find out about the three "extra" wires that don't quite match the color code of most of the wires.

It's good although More wires on item then needed can be a little confusing. Manufacturer allows wiring configuration that may not be specific to your sprinter.

Good product, but.....

Made installation of aftermarket radio very easy, but only once i went on-line and downloaded the colour chart. The chart was supposed to be in the package, but wasn't. No instructions of any kind came with the product. After a search of the web and a perusal of the radio's instructions I realized that all I had to do was match the colour on both sets of wires. I can say that now, but not having ever done this before, it was not readily evident. If the product had had the colour chart enclosed as well as a simple statement saying: "hey dummy, just connect like colours to like," it would have been done in minutes. Once I "got it", installation was quickly done and the results were outstanding.
