Needed for antenna reception. Buy it.
Crutchfield customer from Albuquerque, NM on 1/26/2021
2010 Honda Civic EX
Japanese car makers are notorious for using proprietary connectors. If you want your stereo to receive AM or FM radio stations, then you need this harness. The blue wire is a trigger wire for powering (where applicable) the antenna that you splice to the counterpart wire coming from the stereo. In the case of my 2011 Honda Civic EX-L sedan, the wire turns on the antenna signal amplifier.
Pros: Does the job.
Cons: None.

Nothing against the product itself, I just didn't have need of this. It was a recommend purchase with the JVC head unit in order to work with my 2010 Mazda CX-9. However, the head unit has a plug in that fit the stock antenna. Soooo, I have the adapter and never used it. I'm sure it works great though.

Also got more subwoofer control now that I took my factory out! Would recommend this website 100% to everyone.

Works as expected. I mean ... its a radio antenna adapter. It either works or it doesn't. Adapter plugs up correctly to factory plug, fits snugly inside of aftermarket antenna dongle.
Pros: Works correctly, Radio receives broadcast clear and strong.
Cons: Had to extend the blue power wire a little bit, factory antenna is on the left side of the dash on Mazda 6 and the antenna dongle on my Kenwood 7705S is on the right side, but the harness plug is on the left of the head unit.

Everything seems to be working ok except the radio. After going through the reviews for this adapter, I've found out that the blue so called power antenna wire should be connected to the red switched power wire. I soldered and used heat shrink tubing plus taped over the wires. No where in the instructions does it explain this. I would like to repeat what has already been said put a note in with the adapter (connect blue wire with red wire). Any ideas on an easy way for me to do this?
Pros: I'll let you know when it's working.
Cons: Needs better instructions

2010 Honda Fit Sport
Honda FIt 2010 Sport, new Pioneer head unit. Installed the head unit OK, but nothing in the instructions on what to do with the blue wire on this antenna adapter. It says power antenna on the wire, but I don't have a power antenna so left it hanging. Very poor radio reception. Drove around for two weeks like that, today took the unit back out, thinking maybe the blue wire on the adapter has to be connected to the blue wire on the unit, even though no power antenna. That didn't work either. Searched the net and found that the blue wire has to be connected to the red 12V switched wire for the antenna to work. I did that and it works great. I saw here that a lot of people have this problem, some of the dates are from several years ago. Why Crutchfield can't put a note in with the instructions I don't understand. Other than that, everything was OK.

Easy antenna adapter, I will save you the search, plug goes into head unit, grey plug gets connected to vehicle plug, On the wiring harness, one red wire gets spliced to the other red wire and the blue wire attached to the antenna adapter you also splice together with the red wire, NOT the blue wire with the tag attached to it!! This is the correct installation and you will get perfect radio reception.
Pros: Easy adapter, works

Works if installed correctly, Blue wire to switched 12v
Stuart from glasgow, KY on 1/19/2016
2007 Honda Pilot
This is the first time I found CF's instructions to be incorrect, at least for my 07 Honda Pilot. The Blue wire has to be connected to the same switched 12v *usually red* in the harness, and the plug into the factory plug-in. If connected as they requested to the power antenna the radio reception will be horrible.
Pros: Works fine Good reception Picks up digital info
Cons: Wires into 12v in my case, a step I've never seen.

Must have for the Ridgeline
Chris from North Carolina on 12/29/2015
2006 Honda Ridgeline
Once I figured out that on my vehicle (Honda Ridgeline) the blue wire needs 12v power all was well. Instructions had me wire it to the remote wire and did not supply my antenna's booster with enough power. Wiring it this way in my truck gave me no reception at all. Fortunately, someone in a forum somewhere steered me in the right direction.

Cons: poor instructions related to my specific vehicle

The Antenna adapter works. I'm a big fan of using adapters rather then trying to rewire everything.
Pros: Adapter works perfectly.
Cons: No Down Side

Perfect - Glad It Came With My Order
Jason P. from Naperville, IL on 3/5/2014
2008 Honda Pilot
One of the reasons I'm glad I ordered from Crutchfield, and will always order from them when I need something like this, is because they sent this and a few other things I didn't know I needed absolutely free. This went in without any issues whatsoever, and works flawlessly.
Pros: Free
Cons: None

So easy!
Tim S from Vista, CA on 1/9/2014

Easy to just plug into the factory antenna on one end and the new stereo on the other end.
Pros: Easy
Cons: Unnecessary extra blue wire if you don't have an old school pop up antenna.
