About the Metra 70-1120 Receiver Wiring Harness

Metra 70-1120 Receiver Wiring Harness

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

Metra 70-1120 Receiver Wiring Harness

This vehicle-specific wiring harness makes connections between your new car stereo and your car's electrical system.

First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.

Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness makes installing your new stereo easier, and allows you to put the factory radio back when you sell your vehicle or return it at the end of the lease. Warranty: 60 days.

Please read this important note: This harness may not contain provisions for every wire needed to complete your installation, and it will not accommodate special navigation, video, or factory steering wheel control connections. You will need a special adapter if you want your factory steering wheel audio controls to work with your new stereo.

Note: This harness doesn't include connections for illumination or dimming, so you may need to make those connections manually, depending on your new receiver.

Product Research

Crutchfield Wiring Harness: Crutchfield wiring harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder, crimp, or otherwise connect the Crutchfield wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the Crutchfield wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, and accessories are not included, but sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations and availability.

Wiring Notes: If the Crutchfield wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require bypassing the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwiring certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required and sold separately.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
To install in my 1992 Volvo Wagon [ Robert  Jul 07, 2020 ]
It allows me to tie in the current wiring of my new radio into the older wiring of my 760 Volvo. [ ZACHARY JOHN  Dec 20, 2018 ]
It would make the installation of my new stereo possible/much easier [ Tyler Reed  Apr 07, 2018 ]
I want to be able to do the "hard work" of wiring the harness in the comfort of my Lay-Z Boy, not contorted slaying upside-down in the floorboard of my car. I can use this adaptor and not alter or damage my cars wiring. And it was included with my purchase. [ JEFFREY  Feb 21, 2017 ]
I needed this to wire my radio to my car. [ rob  Nov 03, 2016 ]
standard for oe harness [ RICK  Aug 03, 2016 ]
I did not elect to choose this one. I will have to wire up the rear speakers instead of using a pre-made harness. [ ERIC  May 19, 2016 ]
Information from several Volvo forums lead me to look for a compatible harness for easy installation of an upgraded head unit [ Monique  Mar 11, 2016 ]
to put a system in my old volvo [ Trevor  Jan 29, 2016 ]
