The harness was great fit perfectly in my vehicle. I own a 1997 Saab 900 SE Turbo. Only one complaint, the power wire for my vehicle was a different color from the harness. Otherwise was a great fit.
Pros: Fit to my factory plugs perfectly.
Cons: For a 1997 Saab 900 SE Turbo the the12volt live lead in my car was a different color from the harness. After some troubleshooting the problem was remedied.

While this would fit my car if I cut off the 12 speaker wires at the amplifier and extended them to under the dash as recommended by your tech dept I found a harness (Metra 70-1785) that would allow me to plug directly to the car wires without cutting any. Your tech dept should have known this. Very disappointed.

Excellent wiring harness
shockwavecs from owings mills, MD on 2/29/2016
This harness fits very easily into the factory wiring. The clip to release the harness is not sharp or hard to activate when disconnecting the wiring. Sufficient cabling provided to ensure you could reuse the harness a few times in the event that you change your aftermarket radio again. It worked well on my 1997 VW GTI
Pros: - Cable length is good - Sturdy construction
Cons: None.

Nice Wiring Harness!
Harvey from Orem, UT on 4/9/2014
Excellent! I wired my car stereo ALL by myself! I showed it to a prof installation shop while checking on speaker wiring issues and they thought it was excellent! They asked me where I got the harness. I said Crutchfield. He then said that is where they got them as well!
Pros: Very easy just take your time, one wire at a time. Make sure to get the correct sized connectors and I added a small piece of electrical tape around each connector.
Cons: None

Headache reducer
Alex from Moline, Il. on 6/16/2013
If you are lucky enough of having the factory wiring of the original stereo in your car, this harness is a headache reducer, it allowed me to connect a newer stereo without the mess. The instructions sheet included made it very easy to identify all wires.
Pros: Makes installation very easy and fast
Cons: It's useful only if your car has the original stereo warning, which is very rare.

1997 Volkswagen Cabrio
Not a big DIYer but Crutchfield made it easier.... definately the right part, the perfect harness for a 97 Cabrio. Fit right into the already in there harnesses. They could include (and charge) for the end caps of connecting wires to wires but those were easy to get at local shop.
Pros: Perfectly the right harness to my Cabiro!
Cons: Could have included the end caps for connecting wires of the harness to the wires of my new stereo unit. Wires were not an exact "color" match but were close enough that I got it right.

This works just fine. Not great but just fine. Before installing the head unit harness make sure all of the tabs are secure and the wires are not loose. Also, for those with factory amps, don't forget to connect the blue wire to the trigger
Pros: The wires are long enough
Cons: The directions barely cover the basics, completely missing out on some important details

I contacted Crutchfield and told sales rep that the wire harness i need should be black and red connectors. Red connector was larger then a black connector. He said rest assured I will get you the right kit. And what do you know? I received a wrong kit. I bought another wire harness kit locally and those guys will not replace it with the correct kit. At least Cratchfield is trying to replace it with the correct kit. Then again i cant say correct until i try it on my car.

Does what it is suppose to do
Alexander from Northern Burbs, IL on 2/10/2008
This harness was easy to hook up and the instructions were straight forward. Anyone who is uneasy about installing their new stereo themselves (like I was) rest assure that this harness made it so easy...I actually couldn't believe how easy it was. I stalled 2 stereos that I bought from Crutchfield with no issues and I knew that if I got stuck the Crutchfield Technical Support Advisors were there for me. This harness gets 4 out of 5 stars because the "Orange" (lighting) wire on one of the harness's was loose. I was able to get a small flathead screwdriver into the small wire connector space and "crimp" the wire back in, not ideal, but it has been working for a month. If it were not for the loose wire issue it would have received 5 stars.
