Works great for factory amp bypass on Fox body Mustang. I will say that the instrument lighting did take some figuring out. I had to consult a wiring diagram and found I had to disconnect and jump two wires at the day/night relay to get an on off voltage

Wiring on this harness DO NOT connect to factory plug in the correct sequence. Because of this, I had to take it to a stereo installer to wire correctly which cost me $100. Made the great price on the stereo and speakers no longer a good deal.

Ended up not using it, the one plug did connect to the car but did not work. Had to cut the one that was there and splice the new head unit in. Odd enough it was just as easy.
Pros: Good solid connectors and look to be well made.
Cons: Didn't work, and not really needed.

Good luck putting a radio in a 1990 FORD without this wiring harness! It's just not going to happen without way too much frustration. These things make upgrading a BREEZE. If you can connect two wires together and follow simple color-code directions, this is about all the expertise you're going to need to upgrade your system! Seriously. I have 20 years electrical of background, and I would not install a stereo or head unit with out these. For the price, it's a steal. Do it right the FIRST time, and get the RIGHT harness for the job!! It took me about 30 minute TOTAL to install my stereo... and here's the coolest part: since this connects to the BACK of your radio.. you can connect the harness together in the comfort of your garage, workshop, or kitchen table, and NOT have to be in some crazy position in the car trying to connect it all up!!! No cutting and scraping up your arms on the opening!!! (I had to modify my dash for the receiver I bought). Then, walk to the car, hook it up, test it out, and when it works THE FIRST TIME.... assemble it all.... minus the headache!!
Pros: Makes you a PRO at upgrading your FORD system. Do it in about 1/10 the normal time.

Harness worked great. This is my third time installing a receiver in my vehicle with Crutchfield's great products. Instructions are pretty easy to follow and I saved $150 by not having it done at a shop. The technical support is first rate and very helpful.

Makes installing a receiver very simple. It helped me clean up a previous bad install on a used Mustang. This together with the speaker harness's sure made it easy.

Receiver Wire Harness

The wiring harness for power was straight forward and instructions were clear. The speaker wire harness directions were not as clear when working with my older (90) Mustangs premium sound system, which required me to use a third harness and connect diretly to the amplifier in the car. Crutchfield was very helpful in directing me to the proper requirement, although getting to the wiring harness on the amplifier was somewhat difficult.
Pros: harnesses fit well with my older model mustangs existing harnesses.
Cons: The instructions were not as clear for the speaker connection harness. I initially used the harness that matched up to the old radio harness, which kept shorting out, before contacting Crutchfield and realizing I had to use the third harness provided and connect directly to the amplifier in the car. Everything worked fine after that.

Item installation was poorly described, had to rewire it from scratch because my car had a factory amp in addition to the radio. I'd gladly pay a few bucks more and have a product that contains a set of alternative wiring harnesses that are each pre-wired at both ends so I don't have to solder them. Just pick the right harness and plug and play at both ends. As is, this seems like antiquated technology.
