Overview

These harnesses will allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in the speaker openings for your vehicle.

These harnesses will allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in the speaker openings for your vehicle.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield-supplied harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular - see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Worked perfectly

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I emailed photos of my existing wiring connectors, and Crutchfield provided the Metra harnesses to interface my old speaker wires with my new JBL Stage 8602 rear speakers. It was as easy as falling off a log, and the advisors were great in picking the right harness for a 22 year old truck. Great product, but greater service!

Pros: It was very easy to use the Metra harness to hook up new speakers to existing wiring

Cons: None

Not right part for my car

Crash from North Carolina on 4/28/2015

1998 Chrysler Cirrus
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is not the adapter you need for a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus. Not sure what car they are for, however they are not what I needed. I discovered this after I had torn the back of my car out to install the new speakers and was not going to do it again, so I just went old school and cut the ends off the factory wiring. This install would have been so much easier had they sent the correct adapters. So let this be a lesson to you, check the adapters before you get started. In reality I need the same adapters as were sent for the front speakers. So not sure why Crutchfield dropped the ball on this, however in fairness it is the only time I have had a problem with any order. Had it been the correct adapter I would have given 5 stars, so the rating reflects the wrong part sent.

Pros:

Cons: Not the right adapter for my 1998 Chrysler Cirrus.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Plug n Play. Plugged the fat end in to the chryler fat thing and the other two wires to the speakers. Can't get any easier than that. Crutchfield sent them free while others are charging $15.00 a pair. Crutchfield customer service is over the top friendly and knowledgable. Will continue to buy from them. They are always cheapest priced too.

Features

Speaker Harness: These speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical speaker harnesses are included.

The speaker harnesses are not absolutely necessary. You could cut the factory connectors off of the speaker wires in the car, but you would still need to add female spade connectors to the wires in order to make a good connection with the speakers. The little speaker harnesses have a small and large female spade connector to ensure you connect the proper polarity. All in all, I liked them as they made a clean, quick and solid connection between the factory harness and after market speakers. [ James  Nov 06, 2017 ]
No, these are adapters for the factory speaker plugs. You can cut out the old plugs from the speakers and butt connect, splice or solder new speakers in. Regardless, this has nothing to do with the head unit. [ Joseph Cody  Nov 05, 2017 ]
For details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle. [ Krissy  Aug 10, 2015 ]  Staff
