Made for 2010-2017 Chevy Equinox

These harnesses will allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in the speaker openings for your vehicle.

Made for 2010-2017 Chevy Equinox

These harnesses will allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in the speaker openings for your vehicle.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the Crutchfield harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories."

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Difficult to get on speaker

Crutchfield customer from Saint Cloud, FL on 8/8/2019

2010 Ford F-150 XLT

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Plugging into Ford was easy, but plugging into Pioneer speaker was difficult. I bent the metal tap on the speaker because these adapters were difficult to connect. The harness that came with the speaker was able to easily slide onto the speaker, but this harness was difficult and I was not sure they were fully seated until I tested the speaker.

Pros: Fit on vehicle side easily.

Cons: Difficult to fit on speaker.

These are great. I always hate having to hack up factory harness. These are well built, positive click when connecting and the Spade lugs are tight. A great product

Cons: Have to be extra careful when sliding on the Spade connectors on to the speaker lugs, these are very tight as they should be.

They worked with my 2014 F150 as intended. The the blade rececptacle is a bit tight so be sure to line things up and work them on, if I were to brute force them on the speaker connection would just bend and deform.

Pros: Quick, no splicing needed

Cons: Terminal ends are almost to tight.

These made swapping out my factory speakers much easier and I didn't have to butcher the factory wiring. The downside is they are fairly cheaply made. One of them came with a bent pin and the wire coming out of the plastic piece that plugs into the factory wiring. It was a very simple fix and works fine though.

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: Cheaply made

worked as designed but had difficulty with them. The negative terminals on all 4 that were included with my kit had way to tight tolerances for the speaker I installed them on. In the past they have worked great but I think this was a bad lot of connectors. Positive side worked fine, on negative, I had to use a precision screwdriver to bend the connections so they fit over the speaker terminal. It was frustrating to do. Again, never had issues but this lot of them didn't want to go on. At one point it bent the bridge that holds all the electrical connections on the speaker, thinking I damaged it. With a weak bridge, it made it that much more difficult to install. I guess just my bad luck.

Pros: work well

Cons: tolerances too tight on negative terminal for Polk speakers

These were super easy to install. Someone will no technical skill could install these harnesses. My only critic is the the negative side plug of the harness had been crushed slightly so I had to use a pick to open it back up (typical all (4) harnesses I used). It took me longer to get the door panels off and put them back on then it did to install these.

The actual connect works great and I'm thankful that Crutchfield included them for free with speaker purchase, but they were not the correct size female adapter to fit the speaker's male connections so I had to put new connections on them. Once the connections were installed everything was great. I appreciate the thought to make install super easy, but ended up being just as difficult since the part was wrong.

I was looking forward to the direct plug in feature to the factory harness, but the connectors didn't fit the spades on the speakers. After talking to tech support, this seemed to be a known issue with Rockford Fosgate speakers. I had to use two large spade connectors, but not really a big issue.

Pros: Connected right up to the factory plug

Cons: Spades didn't fit

Tight fit to the speaker, I read that people were having issues with them being wired backwards so i had that in my head while i installed. I almost broke the connector on the speaker on the first one so i started using my pick to get some space in between.

Easy to install on my 2011 Equinox. Called tech support because it looked like the harness would not fit. The service tech told me to pinch the harness into the adapter and it worked fine. They're OK, greatly simplifies connecting to factory wiring. Mine we all wired for correct polarity. 3 of 4 harnesses had 0 issues, on 1 the negative connector was too tight, almost bent over flimsy tab on speaker. A small flat blade screwdriver was all that was needed to open the connector a little to make it fit, but still be tight enough for a good connection.

Ok product I guess? Had a hard time pushing the negative terminal over the spade on the speakers. Perhaps the speaker spades should be titanium so they won't bend when you try and push these things on. Actually had to cut some off and replace the terminals so I could hook to the speakers. Kinda nerve racking when you are destroying an expensive set of speakers to hook these things up.

Pros: The factory connector

Cons: Everything else

Product Research

Features

Metra Speaker Harness: Metra speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Metra speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Metra speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Metra speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Metra speaker harnesses are included.

These are great, plug-n-play for replacing OEM with same size aftermarket speakers - no tools, cutting, crimping. Allows you to retain the OEM harnesses. If I was doing a total replacement of OEM system (head unit, adding amps, custom work for subs and larger door speakers, lower AWG wire), probably wouldn't use these since all the OEM wiring/harnesses would be replaced/upgraded. I replaced the front door speakers in my 2009 Ford Focus several years ago (which I also purchased from Crutchfield) and one of them stopped working. These speakers were an economical solution since I am just replacing the one that went bad and have the other speaker as a backup for the future. [ WILLIAM P  Jul 10, 2018 ]
