Metra 72-5602

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings. This harness allows you to retain the midrange and tweeters; both speakers can also be wired together.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories." Warranty: 60 days.

Product Research

Features

Metra Speaker Harness: Metra speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Metra speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Metra speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Metra speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Metra speaker harnesses are included.

Q
2016 xlt f150 non amplified system no center dash speaker and 4.2 stereo. Is there a way to enhance my audio signal without adding a multi channel amplifier for better performance out of my aftermarket speakers? My 2 new rear door speakers i just bought from you all did nothing. I know its not there fault, its the crappy signal. Do i have any options besides new head unit and amp?

I have the same truck (w/center dash speaker), and I didn't have to change out the head unit to get an amazing sound system. But, you will have to spend some money if you want sound quality worthy of nice speakers. You could put in an amp, but the signal from the head unit isn't worth a damn unless you use a line out converter with the amp. That's where you get the crystal clear sound. Q
When adding a 3 or 4 way coaxil to the front door of a 16 f150, xlt basic non amplification and no center dash speaker, do i leave the factory tweeter connected?
[ Jodh  Jun 19, 2020 ]
2 answers
A
Yes you can leave the factory tweeters. The factory set up does not have a crossover running from the drivers in the door to the tweeters up front(like aftermarket setups), each speaker is wired individually from the head unit. I put combination speakers in all four doors and bought separate tweeters to replace the factory ones in the a-pillar.
[ VINCENT  Jun 19, 2020 ]
A
I did and they work fine powered from the OEM deck.
