About the Metra 72-9301 Speaker Wiring Harness

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

These harnesses allow you to plug your new speakers into the factory connectors present in your vehicle's speaker openings.

Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories."

Features

Crutchfield Speaker Harness: Crutchfield speaker harnesses prevent you from having to cut your vehicle's factory speaker plugs when replacing your factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Crutchfield speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket car speakers & a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Crutchfield speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) & small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Crutchfield speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Crutchfield speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.115" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Crutchfield speaker harnesses are included.

There are a lot of variables that come into play when trying to figure out if speakers can work in systems without needing an amp. I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your goals and preferences to see My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

Q
will this work with a 2003 mini cooper? have basic system, but bought HK speakers with different connecotrs

This amplifier fits perfectly in the corner of one department left or right side in the trunk. !-_-! :-)) I mounted it there (2003 mini cooper s[R53])
[ Peter  Apr 06, 2019 ]
A
The harnesses will work for connecting aftermarket speakers to the original factory plugs in the 2003 Mini Cooper with the base factory sound system. If you mean that you purchased the factory Harman Kardon speakers, no, these harnesses will not work to connect the stock HK speakers to the factory connectors of the base sound system. I hope that helps My bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan

Q
Will these work with an aftermarket upgrade for rear speakers on my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS?
[ john  Mar 12, 2017 ]

Thanks for your question. Yes if you do not have the Infinity system this harness is correct. If your vehicle does have the infinity system then it will be the harness at the link below. Hope this helps. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120729300/Metra-72-9300-Speaker-Harness.html?osp=120729300&tp=3097

Q
Will these work in a 2002 Hyundai Accent GS/hatchback?
[ Mahari  Jan 16, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
It doesn't look like we have a wiring harness available for that vehicle. You may have to cut off the factory connectors and splice the vehicle's speaker wires to your new speaker wires. If you have any additional questions on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation in your vehicle.
