Overview

Our take on the Universal Plastic Trim Ring

If you've got any gaps around the nose of your receiver after installation, this plastic trim ring will let you dress up the appearance of your install by covering spaces around the receiver's face. For ISO DIN receiver installations. Warranty: 60 days.

Worked well. Guide lines on the back of the plate helped to cut straight lines to fit it to the new receiver.

Simple and effective

Just what I needed. Covered the gap around the new receiver and the lines on back allowed me to trim it so it tucked behind the receiver trim plate and around the mounting plate, creating a perfect sandwich with the mounting plate for a secure and tight fit for the new boat stereo. It was very easy to cut once I realized my plan... Score the lines on back using a very sharp blade, then use a needle nose pliers to bend and tweak it off on the line.

Pros: Looks great Easy to work with

Cons: I paid more for shipping than I did for the product

It's flat, plastic, and matches the dash. Then trim area of the dash top and bottom was so narrow that the properly sized trim ring collapsed while setting the dash radio A/C trim.

There was a small gap between my new Kenwood Excelon KDC-X598 and the car's factory trim. A little modification of this trim ring and it covered the gap completely.

Pros: Perfect fit for my needs.

Cons: None.

Q & A

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

because I need it. [ Mike  Sep 27, 2018 ]
Trim ring that came with my recently purchased pioneer radio was too deep for good fit in my vehicle. I expect this will fit properly- exterior dimension may or may not need to be trimmed. [ Anthony  Sep 11, 2018 ]
inexpensive fix to adjust opening for kenwood marine receiver [ phillip  Sep 09, 2018 ]
Installing in a restored '84 CJ7 Jeep. The space in the dash for the receiver has been "customized" over its life and is rough around the edges. A regular trim ring does not cover the hole. [ Gary  Aug 27, 2016 ]
Dash opening is slightly oversized [ ANTHONY  Jul 03, 2016 ]
might need it for radio install [ chad  Jun 01, 2016 ]

It is designed to be cut but it is also very difficult to cut. Plastic is very hard. [ RICHARD  May 29, 2018 ]
No it is not, although we cut it with a dremmel to fit our project. [ Rebecca  May 28, 2018 ]
It can be cut to fit, being universal in design. [ Steven  May 28, 2018 ]
It's been awhile since I installed this, but I recall that I had to do a little trimming to make it fit. Used a file, I think. [ Seann  May 28, 2018 ]
I don't think so. [ BRETT M  May 28, 2018 ]
